    Guacamole and chips
    Ron R.

I initially liked the outdoor dining space, until I had to sit at a too small no leg room table. The service was spotty. We ordered margaritas 2/5 (weak), guacamole and chips 3/5, and duck and chicken enchiladas 4/5.

Amazing food, drinks, and service. Ambiance is nice but loud. We ordered a variety- chips & salsa (yum!), duck and pork enchiladas (amazing), esquites (delicious), and pork carnitas tacos (wow). Every bite was delightful! For drinks, a margarita and a strawberry & basil Paloma!!

LOVELY establishment! Food was 13/10, ambience was so fun and upbeat, service was FANTASTIC, everything was great! Food had just the right amount of spices and variety in ingredients without pushing the boundary too much like some hip hotel restaurants can try to do. Shrimp quesadilla was to die for, and the chocolate mousse they brought out for my friend's birthday is something I'll be dreaming about until I come back. Thanks for a fantastic night out, Cósmica!

Came here for the tacos, stayed for the frozen margarita! Perfectly slushy, not too sweet, and had just the right tequila kick. Super refreshing and went down *way* too easy. Also loved that they go all out for Cinco de Mayo--festive music, decorations, and great drink specials. Festive vibes all around. Definitely a must-try spot!

This is a cute taco spot. It has a trendy vibe. This time I tried the patio seating area. The service was disappointing even though we were the only table for about an hour. We saw servers standing outside talking which is fine if we had more timely check ins. The tacos were just okay. The lamb was no bueno according to my party. I was not a fan of the beef either. The guacamole was fresh but not super flavorful. This used to be my go to taco spot, but I am on the look out for someplace new.

Came here on a Saturday evening at 7 with a reservation for 4. We were seated promptly and the service was attentive. The chips with guacamole and salsa was good, not great and the portion size didn't help (foreshadowing). The ceviche was enjoyable and the baby cucumbers were also good. Had the Suadero beef brisket plate for my entree and it was very flavorful and was very enjoyable with the beef being fork tender and well seasoned, only problem is that the portion was fairly small. I ordered another side of corn tortillas, rice, and black beans just to supplement the portions of rice and black beans that came with the entree. To top it off, the coconut flan was incredible! I'd say this is more of a cocktail bar than a restaurant with the decor and setup so I'd go elsewhere for Mexican food in the city before trying out this joint.

Imagine if you will: your neighborhood taco joint. Yes, there are better spots out there... But this one's around the corner, it's cheap, and it's just fine for the taco craving you sometimes get. You don't necessarily recommend it to a friend, unless they've moved into your building. Now, imagine that same taco joint tried to go upscale. "Tried" being the operative term. Atmosphere, service, and price? Check check and double check. Quality?... Best I can do is points for effort. I had the opportunity to try: Brisket Tacos, Bass Ceviche, [Regular] Margarita, Cadillac Margarita, and a couple of their salsas (habanero, guajillo, and verde). The Margarita and Cadillac Margarita: both of these were extremely solid as far as margaritas go. The regular margarita was fairly balanced, not too sweet, a had a little bit of booziness. Pretty much a standard house Marg. The Cadillac had slightly better tequila, a bit more sweetness, and a bit more perceptible booziness. It was slightly more enjoyable, but I'm not sure if it was five dollars nicer. Tequila aficionados, feel free to disagree with me. The ceviche was good. The fish was of high quality, the sauce/base had a very light, pleasant creaminess and savoriness. Bits of pineapple were a nice touch, but they seem to get lost as the flavor was muted. As for the dill, I could take it or leave it. The ceviche came with their chips. While I definitely appreciate they were not out of a bag and were not overly greasy, a little more salt would have been lovely. This gives an excellent segue into the salsas I was able to try. We can chalk some of my experience up to my fire-tempered taste buds, but even among these three I found them bland. They seem to lack spice or excitement. They were wet 'somethings' with a faint whisper of heat and different degrees of acidity. Then there are the tacos. These were a fork and knife affair as they were loaded with proteins and also very wet. Eating these by hand is an almost guaranteed visit to the dry cleaners. The flavors were pretty good! The meat was tender, savory, and had a subtle char. Meanwhile the veggies did a good job rounding the tacos out. While fine on their own, I still desired some kind of oomph, or something to elevate them a little bit further. Before moving on, I'd like to give a shout out to the service. It was very friendly, speedy, and superbly attentive. I love great service and I love an inviting atmosphere. However, when I'm dropping $90 after tip on dinner for just me, I would hope there's be something to warrant a return trip. Alas, this was missing. At the end of the day, it comes down to value and price. Other than desiring little bit more boldness I don't have any substantive complaints about the food, Still, I felt the value was slightly lacking. It is an improvement from the aforementioned neighborhood taco joint, yet, we are talking about a modest increase in quality in exchange for an almost doubling in cost.

Came here with a large group of friends for cinco de mayo and while they didn't any promotions for the holiday, I did enjoy their decorations and the ambiance of the place which was super fun! Too bad it was raining because the patio looked like it could also be a fun time! I ended up getting a pina colada, which I give a 4/5 golden pineapple rating. It was good but didn't blow my mind but cute point for having fun toothpicks with every drink! The brisket tacos, however, were so delicious I wish I had gotten more or in the bowl version but they were a little pricey for two small ones.

    Birria Ramen
    Celine T.

Food was expensive especially for the portion and wasn't the best. Drinks were mediocre as well. The ramen noodles were slightly undercooked and the broth lacked flavor. The meat was soft so I appreciated that, but they were sliced unlike the usual shredded birria.

    Fish tacos

Too expensive!! Small portions of just okay food? Everyone's bill was $50-100. This place is not 1-2 dollar signs, it's like 3. The staff was great and cute vibes but 100000% not worth the money

I've been here a couple of times in the past months and the drinks and food in here are sooo good! The vibe is really good to go with a group of friends to catch up! I recommend the chips and guac!

SMOKEY GUACAMOLE & CHIPS & SALSA

This restaurant is super cute and the food was very good quality! Tasted more authentic than the typical Mexican restaurant. They had a mariachi band singing around the restaurant, as part of their Cinco de Mayo celebration. Our waitress was so sweet and everything came out exactly as ordered, and fairly quickly. Overall, great experience and would definitely recommend! The restaurant is located in the back bay/south end area, so street parking can be hard to find. It's probably best to walk there or take Uber/Lyft .

I started with the grapefruit cocktail, followed by the hamachi crudo and the lobster roll. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The hamachi crudo was especially impressive, and the lobster roll was everything you'd hope for when dining in Boston. The service was excellent, the food was outstanding, and the overall experience exceeded expectations. Salty Girl definitely deserves its high ratings, and I'll be back the next time I'm in town.

This year we visited right after a RedSox game and it had poured the entire day. We were cold and wet so they escorted us to the back bar. I hope we didn't offend anyone by not being in fancy clothes. Anyways, we were sat at the bar, about five minutes later, we were acknowledged and menus placed in front of us. Took another 10 minutes to get water and a drink order to get us started. Short time after that, we got to out in our food order and we are glad we did because right about that time our bartender's friend walked in and all of a sudden all the attention went to him. Our clam chowder arrived and it was complete perfection, silky smooth was with a delicate fried clam as an extra treat. It was sooo good. I wish I would have stopped there, instead we also ordered cheeseburgers. The fries were underwhelming and limp, the cheeseburger was a disaster. I'm sorry, I wish I could say anything but that but it just didn't work. The burger patty itself was made out of a meat blend, it felt more like nerves, ligaments and other weird meat elements and to make matters worse, wasn't cooked good, was not allowed to rest instead leaking its fluids all over the bottom bun and severely underseasoned if seasoned at all. I took one bite and couldn't even swallow it. The "fried lobster" on top was chewy and honestly just bad. What a terrible thing to do to a lobster. The cocktail was good, after all it's their $30 martini with a caviar garnish. The bartender made sure his buddy was taken care of, the rest of us at the bar had slow service. It is what it is and I guess next year when we visit we won't be coming back. Oh, the tiramisu was tasty too, instagramable for sure!

Note: Some bartenders make you feel guilty for saying something about a drink you ordered and did not like. But, here at Moon Bar, Abby was so gracious to make me something that I will enjoy. Hats off to her:) Food: Since it was restaurant week we just shared everything. For starters we ordered the Tuna Tartare that was excellent. Then, we had Piri-Piri Chicken Thighs that were also good but quite spicy. For dessert, we shared the Caribbean Tiramisu, which was great. It was a tough choice between this and the Guava Cheesecake. In advance, I stopped into the hotel to confirm that a gluten-free guest could be accommodated and was assured this would be handled. In reality, the accommodation was inadequate and, at times, unacceptable. While the rest of us were served scones, my stepdaughter was given cut fruit in their place, and told that was all they had to accommodate. The dessert course consisted of what appeared to be basic gluten-free cookies, misrepresented as something more gourmet - egg nog cookies??? This lack of preparation was both disappointing, upsetting and avoidable. The broader experience was equally concerning. We were subjected to an unsolicited and uncomfortable "lesson" on tea service, which detracted from what should have been a relaxed and celebratory occasion. While trying to enjoy the time with the girls, being a lifelong tea drinker and someone who has been to many times at your establishment and its various incarnations, this is something I have never experienced. The food quality was poor (scones were clearly reheated and stuck to the cloth napkin they were wrapped in), and there were notable service lapses, including being served water in a visibly shattered glass. Additionally, when hot water was added to refresh the tea, my stepdaughter's pot curdled and had to be replaced. It was especially disappointing, as I mentioned that I had stopped in and spoken with the concierge, and was assured, as they had called the kitchen while I stood there that they readily accommodated gluten-free. There are numerous places in the city that could have done this, and if you had just told me that you could not do so, I would have booked us elsewhere. I chose not to raise the multiple issues in the moment so as not to disrupt what was meant to be a special day for the girls and me. However, the total cost exceeded $500, and the experience did not come close to justifying that price point! Do not recommend.
