Cactus has been good to me in other locations. Nice atmosphere, good tex-mex food, and plenty of vegetarian options. This one is right on Alki beach so it's a quick and easy rest stop from enjoying the views and realistically gets very busy in the warm weather months. Walking in soon after opening on a Sunday they were a bit busy, but there were enough spaces for my party at the bar so I happily bee-lined it over and grabbed the spots on the end. Each Cactus is a little different in terms of décor and this one had a super fancy bar table and a fire pit inside near the entrance. We were greeted by the bartender quickly, who was extremely friendly and personable. She could tell that we were familiar with the drill: there's a QR code that will pull of the menu for you, so she told us to wave her over when we were ready. She was absolutely lovely to chat with throughout the time we were there and really ties the bar together. I went which the tried and true portobello fajitas with corn tortillas. It's one of my favourite dishes and they give you more than enough filling to go around! This is a place that I'd happily come back to, both as a location and as a chain. read more

We had such a great Mother's Day brunch at Cactus. We had reservations for 11:30 as it was the only time we could pull everyone together. Our table for 10 was ready when we arrived. The drink menu was extensive and, although it was only 11:30, many opted for a Margarita. I chose the Hibiscus Chi Chi, which was delicious. We ordered many different items, some went for the breakfast (looked like bananas Foster French toast) while others had the rock fish tacos, one order of the shrimp tacos and another the amigos which I'm not exactly sure what he had but he really enjoyed it. Our server's name was Melvin and he did a fantastic job keeping up with our table. He was a lot of fun. So happy they take reservations and glad they can accommodate large parties (this probably isn't large for some families) read more

Good food other times I've gone. I always sit outside with my dog, today on an overcast day (NOT RAINING) I was denied to sit outside because "it is raining and too wet outside"... I would've rather been told they don't have the staff to accomodate outdoor seating instead of being told it is wet when I have now been out on Alki for an hour and it is completely dry.... Best experience in a long time!! We were seated immediately with a warm welcome from our server (so sad I don't remember her name) and asked if we wanted paper menus, which we did not. After very few minutes we ordered three breakfast entrees (my son was hungry and everything looked so good!!) and coffee. The coffee tasted hot and fresh and surprisingly tasty. We were there on a super cold mid morning and it was warm and toasty inside thanks to the fireplace they have in the bar area. I had a Benedict that has smoked brisket and a wonderful hollandaise like sauce; the eggs were perfectly poached, and it was served on a green chile biscuit! So flavorful, and delicious, I don't regret that choice at ALL! My son had an amazing French toast entree with caramelized bananas, it was unbelievable and gorgeous! The last entree was chicken and waffles, which disappeared so it must have been great! We were stuffed when they asked if we wanted dessert, and while waiting for a couple of boxes they brought out the best flan I think I've ever had as a thank you for coming in for the first time. We must have arrived at the perfect time because the place was filling up as we were leaving, what a hidden gem!! We will definitely be back, thanks Cactus and your awesome staff! read more

So glad we stopped! We were passing by kind of off hours but we remembered good things about cactus so we stopped by for a few drinks and apps and it was great! We got the flautas and the fresh gauc (Austin style with queso on top). The flautas were perfectly made (crispy and cheesy) I believe these were from their daily features menu. The gauc was also delicious. The drinks were good enough to get a second round. If you have a little room for drinks or food when you're in the area stop by!! They were even able to accommodate us outside which is super cute. Leslie and Elise were great!! They were also soooo good about filling our waters constantly. Interior is pretty too and a great place for family celebrations, date night, or a quick meal! The issue was our waitress. She was short, rude and not helpful. It was unfortunate because I've been to a few cactus restaurants in the area and they have fabulous service and food. The food here was good, but the service - they could've worked on. We were bringing my mother, who had come to visit, and also my husband had never been- and it was definitely not a location I would suggest to being loved ones.
