This cafe is everything. From its cozy ambiance to the friendly service to the mind-blowing food, my husband and I fell in love with this place!! We found it thanks to Yelp and had lunch here two days in a row while visiting Hot Springs. Everything we ate and drank was perfection... the mac and cheese, turkey sandwich, Asian chicken salad, tomato basil soup... and the oatmeal cream pie. Ohhhhhh let me tell you about that!!! It was like heaven-- soft oatmeal cookies without raisins with delicious cinnamony frosting in between. It was the best cookie I've ever eaten. So seriously just go. Finally, a light meal with great taste! We've been on vacation and with many places still closed or with limited staff due to covid, it's been impossible to find anything but subpar pizza and burgers. We have a couple of more days here and plan to come back tomorrow. read more

Discovered this place while traveling through Hot Springs on a long road trip. Enjoyed the bathhouse today and wanted a fresh healthy meal after. This place exceeded expectations. Such a cute restaurant I walked in and boom there was the beautiful dessert display case!! The menu was explained to us and all the specials were given upon walking to the counter everyone was so friendly. The food was fresh and delicious you have to try the tomato soup it was divine! The burgers were great as well. My daughter was surprised with a hand carved strawberry rose that had her in awe she ate the whole thing! Got desserts to go and we will be back!!! read more

You order up front at the counter, get your drink and wait for them to call you when your food is done, then you bring the check to the left side of the counter and pay after you eat. My chipotle corn chowder was great, just enough spice to give you that kick. However, the Mexican tortilla warp was disappointing, chicken was too dry, avocado went AWAL, pico de gallo was tasteless, and the piece of lettuce didn't help a bit, the side dish was some cold rice salad, no flavor there either. I do have to admit the mint lemonade was the star of the show, so refreshing, too bad they charge you extra for a refill. read more

Great food! There are many awards about this place hanging on the wall from Arkansas Times and other places. The menu changes monthly which says to me the chef is always trying out new things and new creations. I am going back again because I saw this wonderful looking asparagus and eggplant dish that I couldn't take my eyes off while eating my meal. On this trip I ordered a 1/2 sandwich and pasta salad. I had the Mexican Tortilla Wrap which was made with roasted chicken, avocado, and pico de gallo. Very good!!! They cater and do special orders (give a few days notice) and also do box lunches. Had the Blackberry Grilled Ham & Cheese Panini and sorry to say it needed more blackberry jam on it for my taste. However, it was a delicious sandwich with wonderful ham and provolone cheese and the apple salad of the day was excellent! Will ask for more blackberry jam next time. read more

Had the kind of experience here today where you leave raving! First time coming to 1217, and it could have been overwhelming when first walking in but the blonde gal behind the counter gave us a really helpful rundown. I got the salad sampler with beets, quinoa, chicken salad, and green bean salad. Literally everything was delicious. My wife got the Cobb salad and said it was great. We came back to the counter to get more food to go, and the cashier remembered our name from before. What a gem! It's almost impossible to find "gourmet" food on the lighter side in a small tourist town in the south and 1217 Cafe fills the void. Fresh ingredients seasoned well with a chef's touch plus a menu updated monthly, what's not to love? The cafe is spacious with three cozy rooms but it fills up quickly during lunch time.
