I got to tell you, sometimes I get a sweet tooth and there's no cure for it except a full stack of pancakes or for a more sweet and savory meal, the "pigs in a blanket" drowning in warmed maple syrup will do just fine! I find myself in Santa Paula right on the edge of Ventura all the time as I have many friends and family that live near Cafe 126. They have all the regular stuff too like corn beef hash and eggs, chicken fried steak and eggs, biscuits and gravy, ALL the comfort foods and omelet's too. The taste and flavor? Outstanding! So, you can get any of the traditional breakfasts like steak and eggs, ham and eggs, a breakfast burrito and eggs Benedict too! They have it all! One of my favorites is the "El Centro Huevos" it's basically your typical Huevos Ranchero's kicked up a few notches with chili verde pork bathed in tomatillo sauce, 2 corn tortillas, potato's, Jack cheese and either toast of tortillas! I've been coming there for years. You can also get a plethora of side orders, just about anything imaginable! They even have this small rail road train inside up near the ceiling that runs all day! Really! LOL So, you take the 126 HWY and get off on the South Wells offramp, go North then make a quick right on "Citrus Dr." and you're there! *Note, don't confuse this cafe with "Flight 126 Cafe" also in Santa Paula at the Airport...They are completely two different restaurants...I'll do a review for that one soon! (I've been there a few times too). So, check their hours of operation. I think for now they only do delivery but I'm not sure. They are definitely worth checking out if you're on Highway 126 (near Ventura City...I didn't want you to go all the way to Santa Clarita and then curse me! lol), but they do close kind of early (damn!) so check! Oh so affordable! I think the city finished the section of road leading to Citrus Drive...Jeez, it would rattle out my dentures! LOL read more

Food is decent. I wouldn't say it's bad or amazing. But considering I don't think it's all that good they should make sure you get the food you ordered. During COVID they are packaging every item you get which is fine. But make sure your customers get the correct items. Half of my order was right and the other half I couldn't even eat. Not to mentioned what I received was less than what I paid. I might be back only because of the distance from my house. read more

Absolutely LOVE this place! Me and my husband band have been coming here for the past 10 years ever since we have been together. We bring our kids here and the staff treats everyone like family. Both my kids love the train they have a live the booths. We try to go at least once a week if we can. BEST CHICKEN FRIED STEAK!!!! Love this place! We have frequented this cafe for decades as we live around the corner. Our favorite is to order a breakfast burrito and add bacon and an order of French toast. I love this cafe. Since discovering it I have gone back several times, and I completely love the service here and the food. This place is always packed. The food here is really good too. Everything I have had so far is delicious. We had a great time the first time I came here, and we packed that booth with 5 people, all of us were having an amazing time, the food all came fresh and hot and delicious, we were laughing and talking and we all thought our waitress was amazing. Every booth was packed and there is almost always a line to get in here, but once you are inside the staff are great, the food is great and this place doesn't even need to advertise, word of mouth is all it takes. It just keeps getting better! We have been eating at 126 Cafe over a decade now. We have always enjoyed their friendly banter and simple delicious food. Everyday their are specials and on Fridays they have the best clam chowder. They do have a breakfast and lunch menu that covers all of the favorites. We beat the morning rush on Saturday morning. About 35 minutes later, there was a line out the door. I had seen the corned beef hash before and finally ordered it. Great portions, of hash with potatoes, a side of home fries, two eggs over easy. Choice of bread, I asked for a biscuit and it came with a side of gravy. Different style of biscuit than I'm used too, kind of like looked like a large dinner roll. Every thing was good and the gravy was a nice surprise. Good hot coffee was topped off regularly and never saw the bottom of the cup until the end of the meal. Great service and atmosphere. read more

My only reason for not giving them 5 stars is that the most hyped dish - chicken fried steak - is simply not very good with tough unpleasant meat. My husband is so fussy about perfect pancakes and he declared these were perfect along with his egg and crisp bacon. All just as he likes it. My farm house vegetarian omelet was cooked as I like it, moist and filled with a good selection of vegetables, I had a choice of adding cheese if I wanted to. I asked for crispy hash browns and once again crisp to perfection. Coffee kept coming we never had to ask for refills. This maybe a down home cafe but you won't get a more perfectly served breakfast any where. read more

The outdoor seating is great, the spacing between tables is appropriate and all staff were following safety guidelines. Ordered yesterday through door dash and i was so happy with the service. I ordered a burger for my boyfriend some pancakes with a sausage in the middle just to try and French toast. When in a restaurant I always ask for my French toast to have banana and whipped cream, but that wasn't an option through DoorDash. I decided to leave a comment on the special instructions box and asked if it was possible to get bananas and whipped cream on my French toast. My boyfriend said they most likely wouldn't because that would most likely be an up charge at the restaurant but I said it couldn't hurt to try. If they didn't it's okay, I was expecting If they did to have a couple of banana slices and a small dollop of whipped cream. When the food arrived I was so pleasantly surprised. Not only was there a very generous serving of sliced bananas on my French toast, but I got a whole cup of whipped cream on the side I was so happy. I have eating here since it was Doc and Sandy's in the 80's. A few months ago we stopped in for a bite. We were seated right away with menus. So far so good. Then you hear yelling... the waitress was not happy with the cook, and made sure everyone knew. Her manners were horrible, she kept on him, and even other waitresses jumped in, he yelled back that he was gonna leave if they didn't stop.... I couldn't eat my meal comfortably knowing the cooks being majorly harassed. I was appalled at the waitresses cuz they all chimed in at 1 time or another. So wrong. read more
