I loved this cafe. I ate here twice during my recent trip to Miami for the Art Basel show. The food is fantastic and the wait staff is courteous, friendly and helpful. I really like the ambiance in this cafe as well. It is pleasant and has a fun vibe to it. I think my favorite thing was the menu of "Mocktails." Since I'm not a big drinker, but still like to join the party, I loved ordering a mocktail that came in a martini glass. I got to feel like I was drinking but stay sober. No one was the wiser. Greeted by my hostess and ask her if she could send me somewhere in the shade. Just myself, party of one. My server passed by me before approaching my table and said "I will be right with you Miss." I am a guy but cool. She then came to the table with water for me, much appreciated. I ordered the All American breakfast, an and a Latte. My latte arrived as a cappuccino. Whatever I kept it. My server then approached me once more 15 minutes after I've ordered the most basic breakfast plate in America to let me know that she is out of sausage, and if I wanted to change it for chicken sausage or bacon. I went with the chicken sausage. The breakfast plate arrives and my runner was mute. My server, though, was passing by my table as it was being delivered and said "enjoy," as well as offered me jelly. When it came time for the bill I did get the wrong one. The one belonging to the guest also dining on his own next to me. It was all ok because luckily the item prices were the same as what I had ordered. Overall, Cafe Americano. Is pretty cool. Food order was whole red snapper with fries I wish they had white rice instead but they didn't, and the hot wings with blue cheese could have been more crispy but they were flavorful and the celery and carrots were actually fresh on the side, Cesar salad was a 7/10 it was fresh but the dressing didn't sit well in my tummy so I assume it had too much dairy ingredients. I almost opted for the French Toast and seeing the many orders come from the kitchen made me second guess my decision, but it was SO worth it. My husband ordered the Lox & Bagel. The fish was cooked nicely though. My husband got the breakfast burrito and he loved it. It was packed with hearty ingredients but a little too heavy on the cheese. The potatoes it came with were amazingly crispy and yummy. What really didn't sit well about this place is that at the end of your visit once you're paying or getting ready to pay the waiter/waitress asks you to leave a review on google. Yes, there are a lot of restaurants and cafés to eat at on South Beach. But if you are looking for some place that has a cool vibe and good food you should give Cafe Americano a try. We were there for breakfast and our waiter Diego was very knowledgeable about the menu. I had the L.E.O and there was a good amount of avocado and lox, the pickled onions and the side salad gave a nice balance. My guest ordered the breakfast burrito, which he said was good, but could have used a little more meat in it, the potatoes were delicious, just crispy enough and seasoned well. At my waitresses recommendation I ordered their Western BBQ burger. The sauce was nicely lathered, my patty was medium well but juicy, with a decent helping of cheese and they correctly omitted the onion ring. I like they also brought bbq sauce with the thick cut fries. The mojito I ordered was nicely garnished with mint and a real sugar cane stick, but could use a little stronger pour (or since I work out I burned it quicker). Water service was at a decent pace. I once had to remind them but no major complaints. People watching on Collins was fun. Try to get seated in the outside patio. My only issue was their chicken wing appetizer. I had fasted between work and errands, and was hungry. However; the only good thing about the wings was the carrot side and the hot sauce on the side. The wings themselves were a little too crispy and barely had any meat. I ended up leaving most of them. This being in a major tourist area, there is a 20% automatic "service charge" and you also get asked for an extra tip between 3 to 7 percent. We were looking around and on our way to a different restaurant when we passed this establishment and decided to dine here instead.We were glad no reservations were required, we waited about 10 minutes and were seated outside.
