I challenge anyone else to find a florist open on a national holiday to take the order and arrange for same day local delivery. The couple behind the great cafe ForGround in Midtown just opened another spot in a much nicer area in TriBeCa. They serve similar stuff like toasts and sandwiches and pastries, and most importantly, cookies from City Cakes. There is more variety here though for food, including an expanded menu at dinner time. For lunch I just tried the Kale Salad ($14), a great rendition that uses lots of organic tofu for a nice spin on the usual, and the Prosciutto Panini ($13), a simple, perfectly executed sandwich. I'll definitely be back as a regular for coffee and hopefully more food from the dinner menu. read more

Cafe atelier is the perfect place to go to live out your cottagecore dreams. This combination cafe and flower shop has the cutest decor, and the most comfortable seating! When you walk in, you are greeted by the ordering countertop, filled with several varieties of pastries (croissants, cookies, etc), and teas and coffees. The interior also has a little corner for purchasing different house plants like succulents and orchards, as well as a bouquet-making station filled with beautiful blooms and vases, where you can watch the lovely store owner put them together. The seating has little wooden stools, high bar stools, and comfortable couches, with different types of wooden tables to match. The only gripe I have is that there aren't too many outlets, and the wifi tends to be slow. The drinks are also delicious! I got the lavender latte last time, and that was very sweet and creamy, with good lavender flavor. This time, I tried the strawberry latte - it had great fresh fruit, but I prefer the lavender latte. The music is incredible, and it is great for vibing along as you read, work or eat some pastries. The prices are a bit steep, but I'd say its well worth for the lovely ambiance. read more

Cafe Atelier is a nice, quiet cafe with great coffee, interior decor, and places to sit if you want to get some work/reading in. I was a bit skeptical before walking in because the pretty flower decorations outside made me wonder whether the quality or substance of the coffee would suffer. But I was pleasantly surprised because that wasn't the case at all. I ordered a cappuccino and the flavor was well-balanced - not too rich or light and deep enough to satisfy my taste. Their latte choices are also unique (rose, honey ginger, sweet potato, strawberry etc.) and instagram-worthy if you're into taking photos/videos for the gram. I noticed a lot of people dropped in for coffee take-outs, and the cafe offers flower arranging or candle-making classes. This is the cutest coffee place that is always so tranquil and relaxing. I've lived in the area for almost two years and just recently stumbled upon Cafe Atelier. Upon meeting a friend here for coffee the other day, this is my new go to coffee shop. I can't wait to take all my friends when we are meeting for coffee. The staff here are always so sweet and nice. Everyone has a mask on when at the counter and making your drink. Just walking into the shop makes me feel relaxed because of the soothing flower displays everywhere. The back section seems to be closed off right now due to covid but I can't wait to see it back in action! I'm on a mission to try all the drinks from here. I highly recommend the ginger latte- it's made with real ginger so when you're done with your latte, you can eat the real ginger at the bottom of the cup. It's really comforting and perfect for the upcoming cold days. They also have delicious sandwiches, pastries, cookies and beer for sale along with a display rack of very random (masks, candles, hand sanitizer) goodies. Lastly! They offer candle and flower arranging classes which I'm for sure looking forward to checking out. This place has everything !! I love love love love this cafe and I can't recommend it enough. I really wish I liked this place. I came here for a high tea for two through pulsd and was a pretty excited, but it was not really worth it. The madeleine cookies were definitely the best part and they were very well done- nice and sweet, a bit chewy, with great vanilla flavor. But it was a bit downhill from here. I got a hazelnut latte which was yummy and unsweet (fine for me), but I couldn't taste any hazelnut at all. We got 3 different scones, which were ok but they weren't warm and didn't come with any thing like jam or butter so we were just eating cold, dry scones. The sandwiches were ok but had too much sauce so they were soggy/wet. Overall if they fixed these things I think it would have been a better experience- maybe I should have just tried the pastries instead as they looked very good! read more

This place might be new but it's ridiculously overpriced ... We ordered two teas and two coffees with the intent of sitting down in the cafe. The barista doesn't bother to ask if we're staying and starts giving us to go cups until we correct her and request mugs. It comes to $4 a person for a tea bag (not even loose leaf tea...) and the lemon ginger tea advertised on the counter with lemons in it does not actually have lemons. It then came to $3.50 a person for a basic drop coffee. Aside from being stupidly overpriced, the service was beyond mediocre - we felt uncomfortable asking for hot water refills and never once were we checked on even though there were only two other people in the whole shop. A cute cafe my friend and I stumbled upon after having lunch in the tribeca area. Right now, they have a few tables for outdoor dining.We got the lavender latte, both in iced and hot. It was creamy and delicious! We were so surprised how yummy it was. It tasted a little like chinese milk tea sweetened with a subtle hint of lavender. this is the absolute cutest coffee shop! I was in the neighborhood in desperate need of caffeine and stumbled upon this place. The ambience is so sweet - they have a boutique flower shop right inside that creates such a wonderful environment. For the drinks, they have an excellent selection of lattes as well as baked goods. I went for the lavender latte which was divine. Not too strong on the lavender and very flavorful. I also tried one of their matcha cookies. It was amazing!! Come here if you want good food (Korean / American fusion), but don't mind it being dark and moody inside. The dark furniture and decor gives it that sort of ambiance. It is definitely a unique experience, especially in Tribeca. You order at the front counter and seat yourself - they bring the food to you. I had the kale salad. It definitely was not your typical kale salad - with tofu, radish, pine nuts, feta cheese, and yuzu-miso dressing. I liked the Asian flare but the tofu was a bit lacking in flavor despite the dressing and other interesting toppings. The portobello rice ball was decent. I do love sweet rice and mushrooms so it's hard for me not to like something like this. Would definitely come again for lunch or even breakfast! read more

This space is such a nice place To sit and think, ponder or look At your surroundings. Prompt and courteous service with a smile. Really enjoyed the large and creatively lit and decorated shop. They had a very creative hot beverage list but we stuck to an Americano and an early Grey tea. Both delicious. I really wanted to like this place more than I did. I got the iced rose matcha latte. It was decent, not too sweet, which I liked. The sweets, I wasn't too big a fan of. I work nearby and go to Cafe Atelier about once a week. The coffee is always delicious and the baristas are extremely kind. I wanted to specifically highlight today -- a guy was berating the two employees, saying they were making an Americano incorrectly, and instructing them step by step what to do. The guy was obviously wrong himself -- he said an Americano was 3 espresso shots over ice. Despite how terrible he was, the two women were extremely gracious. Just wanted to make sure your kindness and quality coffee are appreciated, particularly after what I saw today. read more

OK being a TriBeCa resident since '96 we remember this place being a newspaper stand with cups of coffee for sale. Now we have a nice establishment that gives great food. The rice ball is a winner and the lettuce wrap is superb. The bourbon ordered was no less than excellent.
