Cafe Collage is your classic mom-and-pop gem in the heart of Venice, located right across from the iconic Venice sign. What makes it stand out is its hours -- one of the few spots that opens early and stays open late (7 AM to 7 PM), which is rare for the area. The menu is impressively large and eclectic. It's Korean-owned, so you'll find everything from teriyaki chicken bowls and bánh mì sandwiches to buttery croissants, hearty breakfast burritos, fresh juices, teas, and solid coffee. I really appreciate the variety. The clientele is just as diverse -- from locals and creatives to tourists passing through. Service is generally quick, and the vibe is super relaxed. They have free Wi-Fi, lots of natural light from the big windows, and a cozy layout that makes it great for getting some work done, reading a book, or just enjoying top-tier people-watching. It's got character, charm, and a sense of community. One of Venice's OG spots -- treat her with love, and she'll return the favor.

Venice is my favorite location to go to when I'm feeling incredibly lonely. The reason why is because most of the folks who are there are so eccentric but they seem to have embraced themselves even though they may all seem like they're in their own little worlds. I stopped by late afternoon yesterday at this shop and ordered a lemon ginger tea to avoid late afternoon caffeine. The location of this coffeeshop is perfect for anyone who's looking for a photo opportunity because it's where the iconic Venice sign is.

I'm pregnant and vegetarian, so I ordered a croissant with egg and cheese and specifically asked for the eggs to be fully cooked. The person at the counter smirked, as if I was stating the obvious. When the sandwich arrived, it came with bacon, so I had to send it back. They apologized, but the replacement came out with eggs that were very runny. My husband had a bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese, and he said it was just average. Definitely not going back.

Located in the heart of Venice, Cafe Collage is within walkable distance of the beach and from many storefronts. Like anything in this area, parking poses a great challenge but there is street parking just down the way (you just need to find an open spot), unless you want to pay $20/hr. The cafe itself has a breakfast based menu with coffees, smoothies and breakfast/lunch meals. The staff are really sweet and helpful, they recommended the spicy chicken burrito (which was HUGE and very tasty). Pricing is pretty standard for Venice Beach (approx. $25/person for each to get a meal and drink). I want to emphasize that their portions are HEFTY and make the price definitely worth it. Plus inside it is quiet and a nice reprieve from the outside chaos that is venice boardwalk (cute space to people watch). Will be back again soon for the spicy chicken burrito :).

YUM. I stumbled across Cafe Collage while walking down Venice Beach one morning. I was looking for a quick place to grab coffee and breakfast and this spot exceeded my expectations. The employees are so friendly and the service was very quick. I ordered an iced americano and a ham and cheese croissant sandwich. I wish I could go back in time and have it all over again. Definitely stop by and check it out for yourself!

This lil cafe in Venice Beach has a bit of everything from breakfast, sandwiches, salads, soups, asian bowls, coffee, teas, smoothies, and bobas! Came by after a walk on the beach. I ordered the bagel lox, a cream cheese bagel and an iced chai tea latte. Service was friendly. While waiting, we were given iced water. I noticed portions were large, salmon was fresh. One of my family member ordered a turkey sandwich but she got a tuna sandwich instead but they remade it. Overall, nice clean cafe with plenty of options.

We were told this was a "hip" place in Venice to stop for a coffee while touring around. I have to say, I was super disappointed with the experience. I had a huge group that came in, probably almost 15 people and everyone got a coffee. The woman working was very sweet, but it was the product that was the issue. I don't think there was one person in our group who said they enjoyed their coffee. And a majority got lattes- fairly simple and standard drinks yet they tasted just, off. I'm not sure what it was but I don't think I'd come here again, for coffee at least. It is located in a nice spot just a block off the beach and the Venice Skatepark, as well as Muscle Beach and such.

I have finally found a place on the west side that will do breakfast sandwiches with hash browns (there's only a small handful, trust me). It's a little bit pricey but 10x better than Eggslut. Will be back! read more

I'm a local to this shop and I can tell you that their prices are amazing for Venice Beach. The lattes are almost twice as large as everywhere else and such a great value. They also really know how to do foam. Their food is fantastic as well. Paul always serves with a smile. I love sitting outside with my dog and watching tourists. read more

Busy busy on a Sunday morning. It was very busy, but the staff was still very friendly and I didn't feel rushed. I ordered the breakfast sandwich w/bacon, mushroom, lettuce, red peppers, and cheese. It was ready in less than 5 minutes. I took it to go so by the time I got home it was a little cold. But the sandwich was more than adequate. I got the recommended wheat bread, which was tasty. The flavors were very good, and w/just getting the sandwich my taste buds were very satisfied. This is a good spot for tourists. Not sure I'd go out of my way due to that and the non existent parking situation. But if I find myself back in the neighborhood, I would definitely come back here. read more

I'd give no stars if I could. Super pretentious and unfriendly staff, gnats in the pastry glass and super disgusting 7 dollar cold brew coffee. Easily the worst cup of coffee I have ever had. Took one sip and threw it out. Walk across the street to Minettis for a Spanish latte or cold brew. Please don't patronize thus terrible, pretentious and dirty coffee shop. read more

Was in earlier this morning for a latte, but ended up having to leave before it was made because it was taking so long. With the current pandemic going on it's understandable that some places are now understaffed and it's commendable that they have remained open and still serving the community through it all. While multitasking is a necessary skill, I'd suggest working one order at a time and to completion, opposed to trying to make multiple items from food to drinks all at once. There was only one customer ahead of me, but I guess he had ordered half the menu. read more

Very reminiscent of a college town local coffee spot, this place seems very popular with the locals as there were people walking in and out of this place when I stopped by for a quick breakfast prior to my bike ride in Venice. There are random knick-knacks hanging on the wall that seem to complement the coffee shop well as well the usual menu options of breakfast sandwiches, croissants, and coffee. In addition to those selections, there are the usual salads, grilled sandwiches and beverage choices from the cooler area. The process: don't sit first - order first. Since I'm wasn't feeling particular hungry that day, I opted for a quick croissant that I had requested to be toasted as well as a cup of caramel latte ($0.50 extra for flavored coffee). They give you the option of wanting your receipt printed or not and then you choose a seat. Since people are filtering in and out, a table will usually open up if you wait a bit. The area isn't super clean, but it's not super dirty either. It's definitely well used by the people that wander in and out of the shop, so it provides a certain level of comfort as you use some napkins to wipe off some crumbs on the table tops. The croissant was nicely toasted which I appreciated because I love the crunchiness of it when you first bite into it. The coffee itself was also nicely brewed and not too sweet which is also a plus. Just a nice, neighborhood coffee spot. read more

I was hangry at the moment I wrote the last review the only reason why I got upset was that the opening is 6:30am and it was 7am and I was waiting outside for 30mins waiting in the cold but they opened. I truly do love this place the food is GREAT and the owner is AWESOME! I love the BLT and the chicken panini the coffee is also good. I feel bad for writing a bad review over a small stupid thing that got me upset. But this place is great! Fresh food and always clean! read more

The first thing that struck me about the place was how quaint and easy going it was. The food waa fresh and yummmmm. We sampled their pastries and a jalapeño bagel sandwich with 2 eggs and cheese. The bagel sandwich was delicious and their pastries just perfect with fresh coffee. Cafe Collage must be a very popular carry out and hang out place with the locals as the staff at the cafe seemed to greet most of the people coming in by name despite their face masks. You shall come away a happy customer. read more

Disappointed in service...I ordered vegan burrito, cashier said I didn't. Instead of debating, I offered to meet in middle and pay 50% for second order. Was told I would only get 10% discount. Most other spots wouldn't even charge me for order fix, and then I'd give a big tip as a thank you for great hospitality. What I encountered was just not good service. I liked their menu, but I won't be going back. read more

We came across this place while walking around the boardwalk area. So, me and my friend decided to go. We ordered the Nutella Latte and the Masala Chai. The latte was delicious however the chai was mediocre. The vibe of the cafe was great too. What makes me give just 2stars to this business is the lady at the register. We were sipping onto our drinks and the lady walks to us at 7 and says, "we close at 7. Do you want to-go cups for your drink?" We were taken by surprise because it felt like they were literally kicking us out. Me and my friend walked into the store at 6:25pm. She should've just mentioned that they're closed post 7pm and we wouldn't be allowed to hang out post that. Very disappointed with this behavior! read more

Quaint little coffee and sandwich shop right by the Venice sign. I ordered a tuna melt and an iced Americano: both were excellent. The sandwich portion was reasonable, though could have been a buck or two cheaper. I sipped the coffee sitting out front, sketching nearby buildings in charcoal. More of a diner, not a cafe! The turkey sausage is not good, and the bacon is like paper. Eggs are eggs, okay. Hashbrowns look like the store bought kind. Chicken Caesar salad is really yummy, breakfast burrito is nice. This place is okay. read more

Nice little hole in the wall cafe. Wife said the espresso with an extra shot was terrific. She ordered a scramble egg w/ veggie sandwich. To much bread but other wise good. I had the bahn-mi sandwich. It was really tasty. Also had ginger kombucha on tap.. again tasty. Wife finished her meal with a piece of chocolate cake.. I thought it was a little dry. They have a good selection of bagels & muffins. Good selection on the menus of sandwich's .. bowels. It's located right on the corner of pacific st a small block from the Venice boardwalk. Parking is typical.. gotta find or shall I say hunt for a spot or pay. Very nice people working there. Will definitely go back! read more

Sweet place that doesn't fall into the category of high prices since we are closer to the ocean. Took my coffee and enjoyed it. It cost me 3.25 and is was definitely worth it. The place itself is very nice cute enough for a variety of food and drinks. You can also choose if you want to see the inside or outside. Classic coffee shop on Venice Beach. I ordered a Thai tea boba and was disappointed in the boba. The boba was very hard and not fresh. I went back and asked if they could make a new batch and when they gave me a new drink it tasted the same. If you come here order something else but not the boba. I was really hoping the boba would be good. read more

Give it too much time and the structure starts to collapse into soggy bread and regret. Not bad. Not amazing. Just a solid sandwich that got treated like a religious experience by the internet.

It made the space feel cluttered and not very welcoming if you were hoping to sit and eat. Really wish they'd put the catering orders somewhere else instead of taking up valuable real estate for paying customers who want to dine in! Overall, this location of Mendocino Farms seems great for takeout thanks to the food and parking, but not ideal for dining in. If you're grabbing a meal to go, it's a good choice. Just don't count on a comfortable sit-down experience.

Those three items alone came out to $67 after tax, which made the rest of the experience even more disappointing. The woman at the front did not honor the Happy Hour price on the Beef Cigar Rolls, even though their sign clearly says Happy Hour is from 5-7pm, Wednesday through Sunday. The Beef Cigar Rolls themselves were just okay. The yogurt mint sauce was good, but the "wagyu" filling was fairly dry when you tasted it on its own. The Slow Roasted Beet Salad was especially disappointing for the $25 price. It was mostly a large pile of lettuce with dressing, raw cuts of cauliflower (not cauliflower rice as mentioned), and only a few beets -- with no carrots, even though they're listed on the menu. Another confusing part was the menus. They seem to have three different versions -- the website, the framed menu at the restaurant, and the printed paper menus -- and they don't match. Some Happy Hour items aren't listed on any menus, just the outdoor sign, and some items on the website aren't on the printed menu. Overall, maybe it was just an off day, but between the service and the food quality not matching the price, I wouldn't come back.

Having grown up around venice, I have tried several little cafes and restaurants all around, and this is one of my favorite places to grab a bite before I go the beach. Its funky and fun to sit inside or out- some good people watching. My favorite is the tuna sandwhich that comes with the mango chutney. MYYY GOOOODNESS, it is so delisious, such a good combination! I have never gotten sick of it. definitely check this place out. (it's not really a place to have a long lunch with more than a couple of people, but for a chill quick lunch or coffee...definitely). read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars! I ordered an omelette sandwich and I watched their cook make it in the microwave. Then I watched as he made other people's food in the microwave. I don't think they have a stove. The bagel I ordered my omelette on was hard, ROCK HARD. My boyfriend ordered a croissant and it was the most stale pastry we've ever had. Whatever you do, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT order their acai bowls. They may look appealing because of the fruit they put on top, but the acai sorbet itself is hard. I couldn't even scoop it and they only give you a very thin layer. Go down the street to the little trailer Neighborhood Bru for your acai bowls!!!
