    CHIPS & LARGE GUAC
    Marissa P.

I've been to Cafe Corazon before, but my most recent visit was my favorite. I ordered the taco salad for the first time and it will be my new go-to dish. The taco shell bowl was perfectly crunchy and it came with guac and pickled jalapeños. Also the Thai basil lemonade was SO delicious. I don't think I've ever had a better lemonade--the level of sweetness was perfection. We sat on the patio that had cute floral table cloths. Also, our waiter was so friendly--he truly seemed to enjoy his job which made the experience for my friends and I even more enjoyable. I will definitely be back soon because I know I'll be craving that taco salad!!

We enjoyed a nice Sunday lunch on the patio yesterday. We were greeted very warmly and offered complimentary chips and dip, which were delicious. I had fajitas with tofu, and my dining partner had a salmon enchilada. Service was quick and friendly. I had not had fajitas in a while, and this was the first time I had them with tofu. I recollect enjoying them in the past better with chicken, but tofu was ok too. No complaints as I chose it!! My companion, who is not a fan of Mexican food said the enchilada was ok. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. The patio is great, especially since the inside was pretty noisy.

Great brunch spot in Bayview. I had the Pig Out Torta which I would highly recommend. We sat at the bar and the service was outstanding. They also offer many vegan options and have a happy hour durning the week!

Went with wifey for lunch today. Mejor Margarita was on point and the "Best Burrito" more than lived up to its name. Yucatán pork with pickled onions, pinto beans, green and red enchilada sauce, lime crema!! At mosphere was chill and very cool. Fabulous neighborhood stop. Can't wait to go back!

You can never go wrong at Cafe Corazon. This has been one of my favorite restaurants for years, and this visit did not disappoint. Bonus points for the 90s playlist we were rocking out to this day :) We had no wait at all to get a table, and they accommodated our party of several adults and two small children right away for a weekend lunch. I had the chilaquiles with chicken and salsa verde, which is my favorite thing on the menu. Flavor was spot-on and I like how they have both eggs and another protein in the dish (some places do either/or and that's just not complete to me). My dining companions enjoyed their quesadilla and huevos divorciados. The salsas here are excellent.

A great vibe -- they have funky art and the servers are very kind. The food was ok, I got the shrimp tacos and the shrimp wasn't super seasoned or flavorful, but still yummy and definitely fresh. The salsa was delicious -- I added it to all my tacos.

Always excellent service and excellent food. Great options for proteins if you are vegan or vegetarian. And lots of options for proteins if you want meat. All freshly made and all delicious

    Vegan enchiladas with mole sauce
    Matt B.

I came here because of the many vegan options, including a devoted vegan section of the menu that boasts 5 options. I got the vegan enchiladas ($13), which come with two enchiladas with a choice of protein -- I got soy chorizo for one, and tofu for the other. The dish comes with black beans and rice, or a side salad (+$3), and with a choice of red, green or mole (+$1) sauce -- I got the mole. The meal came out in about 10 minutes. The soy chorizo was prohibitively salty, almost to the point of being unpalatable. The tofu was less salty. But the mole sauce was also so salty that it made the soy chorizon even saltier and the tofu still too salty. I am not sure what happened here. Is this the norm, or do the chef's hand slip when dumping the salt in? Jeez -- they need to fix this. The rice and beans were fine, though nothing interesting. It's a nice spot and I appreciate all the vegan options, but my experience wasn't great because due to the hypertension-inducing meal.

Cafe Corazon serves up flavorful Mexican eats in a quirky environment. Came here recently for dinner and had a great experience. First of all--love that they have salmon dishes on the menu. If you follow my Yelp at all, you know this girl pretty much orders salmon if a place serves salmon (living in the Northwest for many years made a salmon lover out of me). I ordered the salmon burrito. It was incredibly flavorful, with avocado, rice, and juicy salmon. Zero complaints--it was great! The service was attentive and the prices are reasonable. We were fascinated by all the religious art on the walls. Get to it!

Cafe corazon is great! We got seated right away on a Friday night. The food was good quality with fresh salsa and flavorful meat. The servers were very kind and helpful.

Cafe corazon wet burrito with carnitas and refried pintos, so good!

This place is consistently good!! My first review here was 5 stars and I will continue to give 5 stars. I used to be obsessed with their wet burritos. While still good, I have shifted gears towards their taco truck dinner. I love their pork pibil tacos with corn tortillas. So good! I love the efficiency. When you walk in, prior to being seated they ask if you want chips, do you want to add guacamole or queso dip. We always want to add queso dip. You also have the opportunity to place your drink order then too. Sometimes I order my margarita then, sometimes I want until reviewing the drink menu. They have a nice patio though I find myself choosing to inside because I like their booths. My only complaint is that I don't like their red chairs. They are metal and gave that back that causes your coat or purse to slide off. I know I'll be back because this is one of our go to spots.

Probably the best Mexican food I've had in a long long time. The tacos were LOADED with meat and everything had great flavor. I got the chicken, beef and carnitas for my meats. Service was fast and friendly and we were seated right away. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Nice patio seating. Menu doesn't have much listed as gluten-friendly options, but our server was helpful in letting us know what could be made without gluten. I got chicken enchiladas. Fun place to sit outside and get some drinks.

For our entrees, I got the taco truck dinner with pork pivil as my meat of choice. The meat was juicy, tender and had lots of flavor! The pinto beans had a nice smoky flavor. I would definitely come back to try more of the menu!

The guacamole had a strong citrus flavor which I am a fan of and the salsa was complimentary! I would HIGHLY recommend the best burrito ($15) as they did not skimp on any ingredient, especially the flavorful pork pibil. My only qualm was that the rice was undercooked and slightly crunchy, but otherwise an affordable and tasty restaurant for a date night. The staff were friendly, service was fast (less than 10min to receive food after ordering) and the restaurant had bright and colorful furniture and decor which were true to theme.

It's Saturday and I'm thinking......Don Lucho!!!!!…read more The team has been up since late night roasting and boiling and creating the most amazing carnitas you will find in Milwaukee. Get here early - parking sucks, and suburbanites will freak out at the hood, but no worries Jesus is right next door at St. Josaphats basilica and will watch over you. And don't forget to take a tour of one of this country's most beautiful cathedrals. Right there by Don Luchos. You can eat here. Lots of long communal tables so don't be shy. Prices aren't cheap but this is quality. I usually get a pound or so of carnitas. They measure it out, it's steaming, and ask if you want it chopped. I say yes. It's wrapped up tightly and it will feed you all weekend. This meat is freaking amazing!!!! I pray they haven't run out of homemade tortillas, but like I said, you gotta come EARLY. Sigh. There's about 6 different amazing salsas to try. Smoky, fresh, green, red, hot sweet - I get two for the weekend. I consider a quart of menudo. I think about. Lamb, goat, barbacoa, chorizo - but I have enough. Too hungry to wait to go home, I sit down to eat. Two tacos - huge! The best was the barbacoa - tasty little carmelized deeply flavored meat bits. Hey - don't go expecting American extras like sour cream or cheese. This is the real thing. Warming: one taco will do you. Got a side of rice and beans - yum. Don Lucho is a treasure. It is authentic, mom and pop, and these are the businesses I love to support. For an incredible adventure and source of authentic carnitas, git yourself down to da south side ya day hair and ENJOY!!!!!!
