My husband and I met up with our Chinese friend who suggested we try Cafe Da Lat. we were greeted right away with a smile and seated immediately. I had great fun trying 3 new food entrees that had not tried before. The 4th was the spring roll, and it was delicious. The order is for two rolls, and we split those up an appetizer. Then we ordered a combination pho, a beef curry with rice, and a pork and eggplant dish with rice. Oh! We split a pork ban sandwiches well. Our friend said that his Vietnamese friend liked this restaurant the best . Nothing was too greasy or salty, and the flavors were new and exciting! I wanted to go back for more. My favorite though was the pork and eggplant. What amazing texture and flavor in that dish. Highly recommend that! Really friendly staff, and prompt service. Can't wait to go again!

The place doesn't look like much the inside is modestly decorated, but clean. Central has seen better days and Cafe da Lat is still serving amazing food. I can't recall when they opened, but they've been around more than 12 years. The pho is some of the best pho you can get in a restaurant. They have a special pho pot from Vietnam as I understand. I've been getting the combination pho or pho dac biet for years and it's always amazing. The service is fast and friendly.

A lackluster experience from beginning to end. The food was mediocre and didn't have a ton of taste. We had to flag down the server when we needed water, then again to get the check. My hubby ordered a banh mi, but they brought him a vermicelli bowl instead. There were only two other tables there, so the server was mainly just hanging out at the check-out counter, but didn't seem interested in actually serving guests. I find it hard to get excited about local cuisine when the staff don't care if we're there or not. The positives were the price and the fact they box leftovers for patrons.

Excellent food. Try the spicy beef stew. One of the best Vietnamese places in town. Very good quality and consistent.

Went for some takeouts. Service was friendly and very quick. Plenty of nice seatings. We enjoyed a lot of our pork and shrimp springroll, the pho was flavorful, pork chop and egg was well-seasoned also came with more than plenty of rice. All the entrees came with big portion. Great cost and quality ratio.

Shrimp spring rolls, seafood showing side.

This food honestly felt like a surreal experience. It is my drug. I recommend the Patter and Charbroil Pork. Chili paste on the side.

One of my two favorite Vietnamese pho restaurants in ABQ. If they had cilantro it'd be a 5 star for me.

I ordered their coda banh mi sandwich and their grilled pork noodle bowl, along with their sesame balls. Everything was delicious. The baguettes are made in house and tasted fresh. The meats in the sandwich were filled with plentiful of meats and was just the perfect combo. The grilled pork in the noodle bowl dish were charred deliciously. Their sesame balls are crispy and had mung bean filling. They went out pretty quickly when I was there so I had to wait for the next batch. It's worth the wait for some piping hot sesame balls. The bakery itself has a fair amount of seating. Service was quick and the bakery is clean. It's located in a big plaza, so parking isn't an issue. I'd definitely come back if I'm ever back in Albuquerque!

But Albuquerque has a significant Vietnamese population, great local supply of everything. There are so many good Vietnamese restaurants in Albuquerque, but this is not one of them.
