Came here with my mum on a Saturday at around 11. It was pretty busy and we had to wait about 40 mins to be seated (party of 2). The eatery itself is cute inside but is really small and has limited seating. Was also a little tight and tables are placed VERY close to each other so it felt pretty cramped. Our first time at Cafe De Olla with the family thanks to my brother for our Saturday family lunch. We thought we'd stop by and try this eatery out. There are tables and chairs for outside dining. Inside is small yet very welcoming. Street parking is available on all sides of the restaurant. We came in on a Saturday a little after lunch time. Wait time was 30 to 40 minutes. Once our table was ready we received the text. Went up to the host and we were seated inside right by the entry way. Service was great and food was delicious. Our order consists of Delcampo, Papas & Eggs, Birria Plate, Delrey and Chicken Sandwich with fresh fruits. The Birria plate and Delcampo was really good. The meat was tender and flavorful. It was also plentiful. The Chicken Sandwich was savory. There's a certain flavor to the chicken and sauce they used. I liked it. I'm extremely disappointed with the service during our recent visit. My mother and I came in for breakfast, and while we understand this is a smaller location and wait times can happen, the way the waitlist was handled was unacceptable. My mother arrived before me and checked us in and was told there would be about a 20-minute wait. While she was waiting, we both noticed multiple parties arriving after her, putting their names down, and then being seated before us. At first, we thought it might be a simple mistake, but as it continued happening, it became clear that something wasn't right. When my mother politely asked about it, she was told they were "following a list." Unfortunately, from what we observed, that didn't seem to be the case at all. It honestly felt like certain parties were being prioritized over others, which came across as favoritism rather than a fair and organized system. This experience was frustrating and upsetting. We understand busy mornings and small spaces, but fairness and transparency should be a given. If there is a waitlist, it needs to be followed consistently -- or at the very least clearly communicated to guests. It's especially disappointing because the food here is genuinely great, and we've enjoyed it many times before. That's what makes this situation even more frustrating, good food can't make up for poor and unfair service. I really hope management takes this seriously and improves how they manage their waitlist, because no customer should feel overlooked or treated unfairly. read more

Doesn't feel so tight like other restaurants with a similar size. And they have an outdoor section. Parking is all street parking. They have nice wooden tables. I like how each table has sauces AND hand sanitizer. Their menus are pretty nice. Different format with hard backing. Small details that make a unique experience. One of our party has food allergies and the server checked but unfortunately couldn't state if any bread is peanut free. He said it "may come in contact with nuts." So french toast was out of the question. He did suggest salads, which was odd at best lol. It feels like they don't normally get food allergy questions or he doesn't. After visiting the Monrovia location multiple times I decided to stop by the Burbank location. I was surprised by how much smaller the Burbank location is in comparison. My sister and I visited on a Tuesday morning and it wasn't busy when we arrived, but it quickly was jam packed. It was cold and drizzly out so it wasn't optimal for outdoor dining. I am dairy free and the server helped me between the chilaquiles since many of their sauces have dairy. He also brought out a fresh cafe de olla frappe when the one he brought me out had whip cream which isn't in the menu description. My only qualm would be the wait times and how's it's managed. On a wait-list I think it's inaccurate because online orders might be mixed into it. Also if you're sitting outside for 1.5 hours waiting for a table, it would be nice to get water or be able to order a drink. My friend brought her dog and we sat outside and we asked for a water bowl and thankfully the restaurant had a nice paper bowl for the dog to use. Overall I would go again. read more

This place has amazing food. It's pretty small with only 8 small tables inside and maybe 6 outside so the wait is pretty bad if you plan to dine after 8am. The service is quick and effective but the wait for food is sometimes longer than you'd like. It's all worth it when your dish arrives. It was absolutely worth the 2 hour wait! It was my sister's and my first time here. Plenty of parking out front and on the side residential street. Once you're on the waitlist, they text you a link that tells you your placement in line in real time. We waited on site but you could easily head to surrounding stores or run errands to pass the time. As we waited for our food, we noticed tons of to-go orders since our table was right beside the pick up area. A great sign for the food to come! I got their Bluekale smoothie (so good!) and the All In One breakfast burrito. I think I'd like it better without the ham but it was a solid burrito. My sister got the Chilaquiles Divorciados. After trying some of hers, that's exactly what I'll be getting next time - freaking delicious! Shoutout to our server Jesus for recommending the sauces! This cute breakfast spot in Burbank serves some delicious Mexican breakfast dishes as well as traditional favorites. On a recent trip, I ordered some buttermilk pancakes with a side of bacon and my wife ordered a plate of chilaquiles. The pancakes were large and fluffy, but otherwise pretty basic. I didn't taste any nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon, etc but the cakes did soak up the maple syrup really well. It paired nicely with the side of bacon (salty and sweet!). My wife's dish of chilaquiles was delicious (shout out to my wife for giving me a sample): crispy tortilla chips and the chile verde sauce was flavorful with mild heat. The service was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The dining area is cozy with cute decor. I recommend visiting and ordering the chilaquiles. To make it even more disappointing the chicken strips tasted frozen because of the texture. We did go on a Sunday, worst day to go most likely. My chilaquiles were delicious ( the chipotle ones), the pozole was good and the chilaquiles poblanos were good but honestly, we don't think it's worth the wait. The iced café de olla was good, but maybe I was expecting something better after reading the reviews. The horchata had a quite different taste to what I've always had. There are so many wonderful things about this place! I'll say that you will likely wait for a bit, but trust me it is worth every moment :) The dining is on the smaller side both inside and out but the location is a fairly chill street (street parking only) so the vibe is nice. I had both hot (with the meal) and cold (to-go), and it was the best I've ever had (and being from southern AZ that's saying something). I had the chilaquiles divorciados (Aztec and Poblano) and it was perfectly done. The chips were crispy and the sauces were well done, the Aztec was a little spicy and the Poblano was creamy tasting and not as spicy. The rice and beans were good, the rice was a little garlicky tasting but not overly flavorful. My mother had the Nopalitos con Huevo and it was prepared well and tasted great. Looking for a great brunch spot? Look no further! This is definitely a brunch spot with a Mexican twist. There's traditional brunch dishes and a HUGE selection of Mexican dishes as well. Normally when a place tries to do both one normally falls short of the other but this place does it all! Definitely a small space but the ambiance is quite cozy which I didn't mind one bit. There's 5-6 outdoor tables as well if you want more fresh air. Service is friendly and prompt. You can join the waitlist online which is definitely helpful for busy mornings. Be warned that on REALLY busy days they do turn off the online waitlist. Frappe de olla 5/5: almost tastes like a Mexican hot chocolate but in frappe form. Not too sweet, absolutely delicious on a hot day. Very berry french toast 5/5: French toast made to perfection. Comes with a side of eggs, choice of fruit/hash browns and choice of bacon/sausage as well, which for the price is unbeatable. Huevos rancheros 10/5: my favorite of the meal. Their red sauce is amazing. There's 3 other huevos dishes on the menu that also look delicious and will definitely need to come back to try them all.
