Limited street parking, crammed eating area inside and outside. Service varies sometimes they're nice and sometimes they just seem overwhelmed and distant. Love Cafe de Olla! The All in One Breakfast is my go-to because it comes with egg, cheese, ham, sausage, hashbrown, and salsa. What could be better?! Sausage can be overpowering so I do order without! And the café is like no other. If you need a pick me up or just a feel good drink, their cafe de olla is heavenly. This location gets very crowded so I do recommend placing a pick up order and enjoying your meal at the nearby park (3 minute walk). Such a treat! My mom and I were in the area for a wedding, and wanted a big breakfast - Cafe de Olla delivered not only on the food, but especially on the service and welcoming environment. We were excited to try their namesake coffee, and the waiter was kind enough to ask us about our taste in coffee, saying that the cafe de olla was particularly sweet. Then he offered to bring us some to sample, which was a really good call, because my mom and I did end up opting for regular coffe (the cafe de olla was yummy, just very sweet, and for someone who usually takes her coffee black, I don't think I would have wanted more than a sip). We ordered the Berry Wheat pancakes, and the Nopalitos con Huevo, so I can very confidently say that they excel in both their sweet, and savory dishes. Whether you're feeling sweet or savory, Cafe De Olla has it! We went during a busy morning, entered our name (party of 2) @ 12:30pm, expected an hour wait, but ended up getting our table in 30 mins! The space is especially small, only containing 7 tables for parties of 1-4 at most and 3 tables outside. Perfect for taking a friend or a small family here. They do accommodate for larger parties but expect to sit outside + a longer wait. Cafe De Olla also has takeout services, which could be perfect if you do not prefer to wait too long. They have a small restroom towards the back of the restaurant. Service is especially quick so best to look at the menu while you wait, we got our food in less than 15 minutes. We ordered just one plate of the Sweet Temptation French Toast and it was enough to fill our small stomachs. It included crispy potatoes, well done sausages, and decent eggs, perfect to fulfill our savory needs. The main dish, the French toast, had a nice and light flavor to them, the dulce de leche drizzle was not overwhelming, which can be a deterring factor in many sweet breakfast foods, and paired well with the strawberries and syrup. If I were to go next time, I would want to try from their omelette or Mexican Breakfast sections! read more

Yesterday was my first time I had ever been to this restaurant. My daughter and I split the chorizo con Papas. I have never had so much chorizo in one dish in my life. I am Hispanic and I enjoy chorizo with potatoes with eggs and there was more chorizo than there were potatoes. First we had to wait 45 minutes to get into the restaurant. I understand they're busy and it was hot so we waited and we ordered my daughter also ordered pancakes. We split the potatoes, con chorizo, and on our way home I thought I was gonna puke everywhere. My stomach was so messed up. I had to go home because I was not feeling well. I will never be back to your restaurant. It was terrible now I know we're all entitled to our opinion, but you're cooking is not for me to come home and be sick for six hours after eating there I will never return. Also, I had ordered water and I started drinking the water in the glass smelled so I stopped drinking it. No, I didn't mention it to the waiter. The food is also tasty ranging from their breakfast to their dinner selection (torta asada is my personal favorite). Most importantly, the service by Ivan and Ronnie is impeccable. Our first time at Cafe De Olla with the family thanks to my brother for our Saturday family lunch. We thought we'd stop by and try this eatery out. There are tables and chairs for outside dining. Inside is small yet very welcoming. Street parking is available on all sides of the restaurant. We came in on a Saturday a little after lunch time. Wait time was 30 to 40 minutes. Once our table was ready we received the text. Went up to the host and we were seated inside right by the entry way. Service was great and food was delicious. Our order consists of Delcampo, Papas & Eggs, Birria Plate, Delrey and Chicken Sandwich with fresh fruits. The Birria plate and Delcampo was really good. The meat was tender and flavorful. It was also plentiful. The Chicken Sandwich was savory. There's a certain flavor to the chicken and sauce they used. I liked it. Doesn't feel so tight like other restaurants with a similar size. And they have an outdoor section. Parking is all street parking. They have nice wooden tables. I like how each table has sauces AND hand sanitizer. Their menus are pretty nice. Different format with hard backing. Small details that make a unique experience. One of our party has food allergies and the server checked but unfortunately couldn't state if any bread is peanut free. He said it "may come in contact with nuts." So french toast was out of the question. He did suggest salads, which was odd at best lol. It feels like they don't normally get food allergy questions or he doesn't. After visiting the Monrovia location multiple times I decided to stop by the Burbank location. I was surprised by how much smaller the Burbank location is in comparison. My sister and I visited on a Tuesday morning and it wasn't busy when we arrived, but it quickly was jam packed. It was cold and drizzly out so it wasn't optimal for outdoor dining. I am dairy free and the server helped me between the chilaquiles since many of their sauces have dairy. He also brought out a fresh cafe de olla frappe when the one he brought me out had whip cream which isn't in the menu description. Although the place is small and they have many servers, I found myself having to flag the servers quite a few times to get water or different items that we needed. read more

My only qualm would be the wait times and how's it's managed. On a wait-list I think it's inaccurate because online orders might be mixed into it. Also if you're sitting outside for 1.5 hours waiting for a table, it would be nice to get water or be able to order a drink.
