Cafe De Olla is a Burbank staple. I've been going to Cafe De Olla for quite some time now and they don't miss. Their food is amazing. I always get their Chilaquiles and Chocolate Chip Pancakes with an Iced Cafe De Olla. They have different sauces for their chilaquiles and each one is so good. The pancakes are always warm and fluffy. Service is top tier. Everyone is so welcoming and tries to accommodate you in a timely manner as they do get really busy. Ambiance is great. A cozy breakfast spot with seating inside and some outside. It's on the smaller side so it does get packed. I would recommend being there early. Overall , I'll always tell people to try Cafe De Olla if they haven't yet. It's that good and I'll always come back.
I really enjoyed this spot! It was a bit of a wait even on a weekday but it was definitely worth it. The staff were friendly just running around due to how busy it was. It was also a pretty small place so that's also probably why they can't seat many people. I would definitely return, it was so fresh and tasty. It really was spicy! I loved that kick and how it was still edible without spice taking over. The cafe de olla was so tasty too, I usually don't drink coffee but I will now!
Decided to stop by here on a Saturday morning. This cafe has an option to get in line online before arriving so you don't have to wait as long which I like. It was busy but they move fast so we only waited about 20 min. Parking can be a little difficult as it's only street parking. I got the Paisano omlette, I loved how they added the salsa and cheese to imitate the Mexican flag! The omelette had shredded beef that was loaded with all the condiments inside. It is served with a side of hashbrowns that were cooked nice and crispy. I also got a side of pancakes that come with 2. They were cooked very fluffy and buttery. Overall I love coming to cafe de olla!

First time eating here with friends and I really enjoyed it. My friend put our name down on the waitlist via Yelp while driving and we waited approximately 10 minutes to be seated. Once the table was ready, they called us and sat us down. We ordered and the food came out extremely fast. Whoever is running the kitchen definitely knows what they're doing! I ordered the chorizo burrito with hash brown from their breakfast menu and the cafe de olla. The burrito was fresh and hot with a good kick in spice - the perfect size too. Eating it with the included salsa, it was great! The cafe de Olla was delicious too with a good amount of cinnamon and not overly sweet either. Going to be adding this place to the family's rotation now. It's great, but can get packed as eating is very limited. Street parking is available too. Can't wait to come back! Service was great too!
I went for brunch during the week when it would be less crowded, wait time for a table wasn't long and we were able to snag a seat inside. Our server Matt came to the table right away, grabbed our drinks and answered some questions I had about the menu. I ended up grabbing the poblano chilaquiles (green sauce) it came with rice and creamy beans to dip the chips in. It was delicious, lots of chips so I didn't finish it all but was really good. My cousin got a veggie breakfast wrap and an iced coffee, she said both were really good! They also have gluten free pancakes ($2+ up charge) and will accommodate if you have any allergies, just notify the server. Overall service was great, food was delicious. Seating is limited both inside and outside. Parking is street only, I did find a spot off to the side in the neighborhood with a short walk to the restaurant. **When checking in, note that your whole party needs to be there when the table is ready. They won't seat you before hand.
We've been here multiple times in the morning and always come back for the chilaquiles -- every version we've tried has been amazing. Great flavor, fresh ingredients, and solid portions. We haven't tried their pancakes and other sweet breakfast items yet, but they look really good and are definitely on our list for next time. It's a small, cozy spot, so during busy hours you may have a short wait. A lot of people also stop in to grab coffee and fresh baked goods to go, which shows how popular this place is. Friendly staff, great cozy vibes, and consistently good food. Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area.
This place is tiny so I cannot tell you how important it is to get on the wait-list before you arrive. That being said the food is pretty good, the chorizo is excellent and the chilaquiles are done well and stay crispy for quite some time. I don't recommend beef here other than as machaca it isn't the best cut so it can be hit and miss. The French toast and pancakes really are done well, presented beautifully and worth getting. The cafe de olla is always really good, the perfect blend of spices every time whether iced or hot it's a must try. Fair warning it is a bit sweet. Beans, rice and omelettes are always done well and full of flavors, with crisp veggies and never too spicy. This place always has excellent service I've never had a bad experience. Because it's so small bear in mind it may get loud when you sit inside, sidewalk dining is a good option if you're a large party.
I've been meaning to try this spot for a minute! We put our name on the list and were told it would be a 45 minute wait!!!! We were wanting to try it, so decided to wait, but did run across the street to get coffee, so we unfortunately didn't try any of the drinks at Cafe de Olla. The servers were friendly and the menu was awesome. My boyfriend and I split the chorreadas, which were SO so good! Great flavor! And my boyfriend got the chilaquiles divorciados with habanero and poblano sauces. This was excellent and the rice and beans were so good. I ordered the all-in-one burrito, which didn't have as much flavor compared to the other two items we got, so it fell a little flat for me, but is otherwise a fine option! This would be great for someone who is worried about something being spicy, but wanting a filling option. I think I will try chilaquiles next time, though. The menu is awesome, so it's totally worth a wait.
Really good!! I ordered the sopes with beef. They are small medium size, for me like 4/5 bites. Some reviews said they were super small and I don't think the are. The sauce they give you in the little metal cup is so good!! Some main criticism - I hate that it has cucumbers that is noooot normal for me. I also hate that the onions are not picked! The menu says they are pickled. Other than that their cafe de olla is really good and I would go back!
I've been to the Cafe De Olla in Monrovia, but the one in Burbank is the OG location. It's smaller with a few tables inside and out on the sidewalk. I can see how the wait can be super long here during peak times since the cafe has such few tables. As we came later in the day, we were able to get a table pretty quickly. Plus we got on the Yelp Waitlist so that probably helped. Parking is available only if you're lucky to find a spot in the street. The restroom is tiny and not wheelchair accessible. Pastries for sale are displayed in a vintage cupboard (like those cupboards in your abuelita's living room). Love the extensive menu and brunch that is available all day. I live for their hot Cafe de Olla (they also offer it in iced) and downed a few mugs during my meal - so so good! My friend and I shared the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich and the Banana Pecan French Toast. Both were 5/5 - so yummy! Only downside is that service is slow, I had to wait a while for our server to come back and get refills, boxes, the check, etc. Our server was MIA for so long that I ended up asking another server for help.
This has been one of my favorite places to get brunch! I absolutely love the food here, and I've never gotten anything bad. The cafe itself is really small and cozy and the staff is always super nice. The wait time can get really long though so try to go early! Their sweet temptation French toast is so good! Definitely one of my favorites. There is no parking lot but I've always found plenty of street parking.
Came here for a girl's brunch, and we are so glad we did! Cafe De Olla has been a place I've wanted to visit for a while now, and it did not disappoint! We got the Sweet Temptation French toast, the Very Berry French toast, and the Chilaquiles Divorciados. Parking was easy to find (street parking) and we didn't have to wait long for our table. The staff are all very friendly! We asked our waiter for suggestions and he was very helpful. Two of us were feeing sweet, one was feeling savory, and there were plenty of options on the menu. I got the Sweet Temptation French toast. This was delicious. The Dulce de Lèche was rich, but balanced out with the acidity from the strawberries. The French toast was exactly as you would imagine, cooked well and had a nice flavor. The French toast came with a side of eggs, meat, and potatoes. I chose over medium eggs, bacon, and hash browns. My eggs were cooked right, the bacon was crispy without being brittle, and the hash browns were perfect. Definitely worth it! My friends got the Very Berry French toast and the Chilaquiles Divorciados. They both said theirs were delicious as well. The ambience of the restaurant is clean and nice. There's seating indoors and outdoors, we chose to eat inside. The waiter checked on us a few times to make sure we were still doing okay, and we never felt rushed. Overall, I would definitely recommend Cafe De Olla. I'll be back to try their other menu items (:
This place has a very promising future! Seating is somewhat limited during peak hours but the service is prompt and wait times aren't usually too bad. The food is authentically made and rich in flavors. I can already foresee the need to open up a bigger place to accommodate the ever growing demand for the exquisite quality of dishes served. I've actually made it a habit to stop by for a cafe de olla instead of the usual fraps from anywhere. It's genuinely that good!! read more

The food was decent steak was overcooked and they gave me the wrong chilaquiles, the service needed to speed it up we sat down and were not even seen by a server for 15-20 minutes people that sat down after us were already having their order taken or getting their food we didn't even see our food for another 35-40 and we had to leave cause our child was getting overstimulated waiting so long. We ended up having to take our meal to go. read more

Unexpectedly was really, really good. They did give our table away because they called our name but didn't hear. Not a big deal, just not the best wait time and I'm patient. The huevos divorciados were phenomenal. There was so much taste in both sauces and I left feeling so hydrated from all the liquids I drank. Hehe. Such a fun and welcoming vibe with friendly staff. Discovered a review I had already created: This was such a great discovery. The chilaquiles tasted so good. There was so much flavor and I really took my time to savor it all. Multiple staff came to check on us periodically to make sure our table was good and honestly, it was a great experience. When they texted us our table was ready, I think it only took 1 or 2 minutes to walk to the check-in kiosk and our table had already been given away. Not a big deal but just thought I should mention that in case future customers experience the same issue and don't have the same patience and understanding as I do. Also, more shade should be provided for an outside waiting area. Overall, I loved this place and would definitely come back. read more

If you're looking for a spot that balances authentic Mexican cuisine with American favorites while keeping the flavors fresh and exciting, Café de Olla is it. Portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the prices were reasonable given the quality. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt right at home. Tiny place but worth the wait! Their menu is amazing and has a lot of options. The cafe de Lola was absolutely fantastic! I still crave it. The service was super slow though, they have like 8 guys working but it took a very long time to get our food, one order was missing and when we were done it took even longer to get our check. So many options to choose from the menu but since they serve breakfast all day, I chose to order an omelette which came with a choice of bread slice (wheat). Loved my omelette!! The hot sauce was perfect. Loved my hot cafe so much I had 3 cups (free refills). Not too many seats inside nor outside. Table for 7 people was pretty tight. Service was good. Got my refills quickly. Free slice of yummy cheesecake and they sing Happy Birthday to you. Check for 7 people cost me less than $200. Plenty of free street parking. I'm definitely coming back. read more

Cafe De Olla, take my dolla's, Oh' My! What a fantastic find for top-notch breakfast food and service. Everyone was so friendly. The berry French toast has buttery, Crispy flakes with fresh fruits and syrup that is so good. Pancakes are average but the toppings and variety of options make them a viable option for your breakfast needs. Expect a wait, as it's a busy establishment with traditional small feel cafe comfort. I went today , the wait wasn't too long. I got the cafe de olla , its good but too sweet for me. And my grilled chicken sandwich , the bread was more toasted then grilled w butter on the bread. I love my grilled sandwiches like a grilled cheese , to me that is grilled. And got a slice of maui coconut cake to go. It is listed as 7.95 , but they charge 8.95 !!! They need to update the price ( but they let me pick ) 1 free pastry becuz of the mistake :) read more
Food: My bf loved the Del Antojo. 9/10 I got to try some of his bolio with chorizo and cheese. Let me tell youuuuuu! I almost ate the whole thing lol. Del Norte plate 9/10 steak had the right amount of seasoning. The chilaquiles were good i just wish they were a bit more spicy just cause i like the heat. French toast 10/10 was crispy, buttery and sweet but not too sweet. The fruit toppings were perfectly ripe. Loved it. Drinks: We weren't big fans of the cafe de olla frappe it tasted sorta watered down with no cream flavor to it. Told the waiter we didn't want one of the drinks so they took it back and we were not charged for. Thankfully. Got a lemonade instead. Service: Attentive, very kind and polite waiters. Quick and easy. Ambience: kinda small inside, they have an outside dining area as well but it does get pretty busy here so most likely you'll end up waiting regardless. read more
Ambiance: I didn't really get a chance to see the inside, I was sat on the outside, which was essentially the sidewalk. Seems like a consistently busy place and a neighborhood favorite. Service: we had about a 1.5 hour wait, so if you plan on coming on the weekend, be mindful of that. When we were seated, everything seemed to come out pretty fast. Our server was nice and quick. Food: I never had a cafe de olla, and it was highly suggested, it didn't disappoint, I can see why people come just for the coffee. The chilaquiles and French toast were delicious as well. First thing you need to know is: get on their waitlist. It's accurate most of the time. The staff is attentive and makes sure to keep up updated if things changed. The food is good, decent portions and a lot of healthy options too. No secret the best thing is their cafe de olla. My husband thinks it's too sweet and he asks for it to be half regular and half cafe de olla. I think it's great. The place is small, outside patio (sidewalk) is also available so just be patient with everyone. read more

Ok, so I had this place on my list for a while now, but I finally got to try it. Food- So I ordered the chilaquiles flight and my partner the all-in-one burrito. The chilaquiles flight has a choice of three sauces of your choice. I chooses the azteca sauce (red), poblano (green) and habanero (the far left). Honestly, the azteca sauce was the best red sauce I ever had on chilaquiles. I would 100% order them again. So good. The poblanos were good and so were the habaneros. Habaneros were def spicy fa sho. Service- the host was kind (I didn't get his name) and took our drinks. Pleasant to speak with. Our server, was absent though. I think he only popped in once and sorta had to flag him down for my bill. Took awhile to get our order taken but I'll give benefit of the doubt that it was a holiday and they were probably short staff. But this is where I feel a little disappointed. For what I paid, I feel like it's overpriced. Almost $20 dollars for three types of chilaquiles. No eggs, beans or rice. Yikes. My partner also said the same thing about his burrito and wished his eggs had more seasoning. My iced cafe de olla was good though. Idk about $7+ dollars good though. Next time, I'll stick with the azteca chilaquiles plate since it's the same price of the flight one, and it also comes with sides. read more

The restaurant is right on the street and there was a little wait to sit inside. They do have outdoor seating, which was available right away when we arrived. It does get busy, though. There was a line when we left. The omelette was amazing! The steak was juicy and flavorful. Highly recommend! The Del Rey was also very good, but the omelette was my favorite. Finally had a chance to see if this restaurant is worth the wait. It definitely lived up to my expectations. I'm a gal who loves breakfast 24/7. The restaurant is small but cozy and the staff is attentive and quick. If you're looking for a yummy place to have unique Mexican dishes with homemade flavor, give Cafe de Olla a try. Café De Olla is one of my all time favorite brunch spots. Pros: -Serving incredible Mexican dishes, with an emphasis on breakfast items like chilaquiles, huevos divorciados, and huevos rancheros. The chipotle chilaquiles sauce was creamy and spicy. I seriously cannot recommend this enough. I'm also very fond of their mole enchiladas. -LOVE their cafe de olla. It's definitely on the sweeter side, which pairs perfectly with spicer dishes. -I've always had great experiences with the staff. Everyone is friendly and on top of it. Cons: -Cafe De Olla is busy, yet small. I wouldn't recommend coming here with a larger party -Be prepared to wait even if you're a party of 2.. that's how small this place is. read more
