Great food! Service not so great ...in fact, it was lame. The waiter forgot to get my drink and then totally forgot my food order. I watched people seated after me served before he came back out to ask me again what I wanted. He apologized and compensated a little for the slip up, which I appreciated. Not sure I'll go back (I like good service when paying a premium on food). Otherwise, the food was awesome and atmosphere cool. read more

We went on a Wednesday night and there was live music, apparently it's every Wednesday. We got chips and queso, guacamole, and salsa. The queso was pretty yummy. The best pet though was the pepperoni pizza we got. The pizza is New York style (thin crust), we ordered a small to split which ended up being more than enough. My friend got a skinny margarita and said it was pretty delicious! I for sure see myself going back in the future. read more

Wow, what a fantastic place! Has completely ruined me for anywhere else that serves sour cream chicken enchiladas. My wife and I come up to visit my son at UTD, and on our first visit we found this location. The food is excellent, the wait staff is great, and the prices are good. My son has had the chicken sandwich and burger, both great, my wife has had the shrimp salad and I stick to the sour cream chicken enchiladas. I've tried several other items and I can say that they have all been wonderful... with one exception. The hash browns. IDK. They were white with very little brown and almost seemed if they were cooked without oil, just in a dry pan. My suggestion would be to take a look at YouTube Food Wishes Hash Browns video. They should be crispy and brown, hence the name :). GO! GO to Cafe Gecko... you may never leave. read more

Nice salad, flavorful blackened chicken. Lettuce reminded me like something out of a supermarket bag, but was fresh. I love this tall square bowl! TVs a bit loud for me at lunchtime, but maybe that's because I don't care about the World Cup. Patio looks inviting for when temps are a bit cooler. read more

If you like loud, drunk patrons - this is the place for you! This lousy excuse of a bar is located near my office so I have stopped by a few times. The first visit featured drunk females screaming and yelling for more drinks - like they needed any more alcohol. A few weeks later I thought that I would try going a second time but the result was the same with loud, drunk, obnoxious people spilling their drinks on us. Also, the food is horrible. TV dinners are much better and less expensive. My advice is to stay far, far away. read more

I wanted to give Café Gecko a shout out. We went to watch the Tech playoff games and the place was crowded. You would usually worry about that quality of the service since it was so busy. However, the service was outstanding based on the large crowd they had. Brittany took care of our big group flawlessly. The serve was great, the food is good bar food and the prices are great. This place was great! Loved the happy hour and loved the shrimp salad. They are pretty customer focused since they inform you of last call and have no problem with you ordering more drinks if you have a bit left in your glass to make it for happy hour pricing, so that was definitely appreciated! The people I ate with are regulars at Cafe Gecko, and I can see why - they serve good food and good drinks and chillin on the patio during good weather is great! I appreciate their menu since they have stuff on there that everyone can enjoy, and the vibe of the people there was great! Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and I loved that! I stopped by for a quick lunch since I have driven by the place several times. The layout is like a sports bar and then there is a large spacious open patio where ac is blowing down from the vents. You can walk up to the inside bar from the open patio in a matter of few steps. The open patio had this comfy look to the placement of the seats and table. The atmosphere was lively and everyone was smiling and having a great time, so I can imagine what it is like in the evenings. There was no wait for lunch and seating was immediate. The service was fast and friendly with waitress checks on topping off the water. I ordered the Santiago chicken lunch portion and was delicious. It was good portions enough to keep my belly full to dinner. They do have drink specials like all bars and enclosed a few pics of their special drink mixes from the bar and unique. I did like the menu selections since it was more than say appetizers you see in many bars and it was actually a meal if you get what I mean. I would definitely recommend to try out for their special drinks or lunches!! read more

This sports bar is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Great patio, with the large garage doors open in good weather. TVs inside and out for watching the games. Well laid out. The food was good. The service friendly. Nice big bar area. More of a sports bar than a restaurant, but the food is worth a try and the prices very reasonable. read more

The service was friendly they were extremely slow. We waited approximately 25 minutes from the time we placed our order of spinach salad and orange chicken or do the Cannes the reaction she did. The salad was fine, however the tomatoes were rather me leave and the cucumber was soft limb and thoroughly worthless. The orange chicken was acceptable but the sauce was overly institutional tasting. What was disappointing was the chicken tortilla soup, The tomato base tasted very institutional - almost like a can of Campbell's soup. The chicken was decently seasoned but not terribly appetizing unto itself. The corn side dish came out of a large industrial size can and had was unsalted to boot. The wait staff is friendly and attentive but they can only make up for the minimal kitchen for the food. We did receive free lunch vouchers because of the extraordinarily long wait. Maybe we will order one of their pizzas next time. The pizza at the next table looked rather appetizing. read more

Had lunch here a couple days ago. The beef queso was so amazing, and the quantity was so much we didn't even bother ordering entrees. Great vibe in this place, the bar is a killer place to catch a game, with dozens of flat screen TV's and the patio is great for a nice day to hang at! Oh, did I mention $5.50 house margaritas, all day, that's not even a happy hour price. Can't wait to come back and try the entrees!
