Apple Crisp Cheesecake

When you think of a good dessert, if Cafe Intermezzo doesn't come to mind you are missing out. The cafe environment is beautiful. The service was top tier. The waitress answers all of our questions and included a cute HBD topper for my cousin. This location is spacious and offers free parking in the lot. Prices are kinda high, but the quality is phenomenal.

Parking: Free and plentiful with a light walk to the door. Came in on a Sunday night to get some New Years planning started and was pleasantly surprised by how great of a spot this was! Even though it was 2 of us, the wait was about 20 minutes which shows just how packed and loved this spot is. It's not super large and is dim, intimate, eclectic and just an overall cool spot. Food: I had the spicy seafood dip and my friend had the grilled chicken brioche. We were both EXTREMELY pleased with our food. The seafood dip was creamy and full of flavor, the bread was soft and easy to dip. The only thing I wish is it came out a little hotter. Dessert: I had the chocolate hazelnut/nutella cheesecake and my friend had the apple crumble cheesecake. We both loved our cheesecakes! Dove was a phenomenal waitress and was able to make great recommendations to the both of us as we teetered between menu items. I would definitely recommend for a girls night out or a nightcap after a date! Next time, I'll be checking out their specialty coffees and teas or an espresso martini!

Smoked Salmon Benedict | 6/23/2024

I've been here quite a few times; once for brunch, but many other times just for cheesecake. For the brunch, I tried the smoked salmon benedict and it was great. The eggs were poached to perfection and even the rosemary potatoes were delicious (I'm not a potato person but I ate the entire plate). Now the real star, or stars, of this place: the cheesecake! ANY flavor! My family and I love ordering a couple slices of different flavor profiles and we honestly cannot choose a favorite. One thing about it though, their cheesecakes are always consistently a hit. I highly recommend coming here just to have a slice.

Intermezzo is known for their desserts, I've been many times and their coffee, late night wine and cocktails as well as their cheesecakes and desserts are phenomenal! Unfortunately, the dinner here was just not up to par. The salad was a large portion and the presentation was nice, however the food was very bland. Also, caution on the patio, we had to move inside for some unfortunate bugs outside so just be seated inside during summer. Definitely try out their desserts however! I enjoyed their almond cheesecake!

Tres Leches Torte

This is my fave chain to get dessert at if I'm in the area! My friend and I decided to pick out two slices to share and went with the tres leches and the fruit tart. The tres leches was delicious and loved how light it was and not overly sweet! It paired well with the whipped cream. I also enjoyed the cheesecake with berries and loved how the tart berries were a good contrast to the sweetness of the cake. It was pretty crowded on a Saturday night so my friend and I got our cakes to go so we could eat them outside where there were a good number of empty tables. There's also plenty of parking in the lot which makes it a nice spot to get dessert!

So I decided to go to this Cafe near where I hung out a lot. I took my son for a late late breakfast early early dinner. I had the Caesar salad with a filet of salmon on top. My son had the French toast with powder sugar and a side of bacon. Our server was Jamie. Lovely young lady very hospitable. I ordered my salmon medium and it came a little overcooked. The server was very kind to ask if I wanted another piece or to return it. I declined but the manager came over and automatically ordered me another piece and hand delivered it to my table. It was much better. It was warm and tasty.I love the Caesar salad dressing. She said they make it in house. My son loved the French toast. It was a lovely day and a lovely view to sit and people watch in the cafe.

Café Intermezzo remains a solid choice for a relaxed, unhurried café experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting -- perfect for a quiet conversation, light meal, or an afternoon pause with coffee. The food was good overall. The sandwich and sides were satisfying, and the tomato-based soup paired well with the bread -- comforting and straightforward, exactly what you expect from a European-style café. Coffee-wise, there's room for improvement. The Turkish coffee was a bit on the light side; I was hoping for a deeper, bolder intensity. The cappuccino was over-poured with milk, which muted the espresso flavor more than it should. Not bad, just not dialed in. Service was so-so -- polite but not particularly attentive -- though the laid-back setting makes it easy to overlook. All things considered, it was a nice, chill experience. A dependable spot with great ambiance and decent food, even if the coffee execution could be stronger.

Salmon pasta

Nice romantic ambience and good service but the food wasn't good at all. My friend ordered the salmon pasta and it was barely any sauce on it. The salmon itself was very mid. I ordered the crepe and I wasn't impressed at all. I ate the meat out of it and tossed the rest. I wouldn't recommend these two dishes.

Cappuccino Gianduja

My favorite location Cafe Intermezzo has always been this Dunwoody location. This is the first Cafe Intermezzo I visited many many years ago, and honestly it feels nostalgic now. From coffee dates with my best friend when I was in college to now our wedding anniversary brunch, Cafe Intermezzo holds a very special place in my heart. I always get the Oreo cheesecake and Cafe Giandujia (Nutella latte!!!). Both were delicious as they always are. Since we came for lunch, my husband got the egg white omelette and I got the smoked salmon Benedict. Both are HUGE portions, and we definitely shared. We were able to easily get a table very easily on a Sunday around 1 which was a very nice surprise as well. Can't wait to come back again soon

Artichoke Spinach Dip, Cabernet and an espresso martini
Dazziyah M.

I haven't been to this location for food, but I plan on doing that soon! My date enjoyed the spinach dip, I was not a fan of it though. The bread was very crispy with it and the flavor was okay. I looooved my espresso martini, it had a lot of baileys and was pretty sweet, just the way I like it! The service was great, we were checked on every so often. The ambiance is perfect for a date night! The lights are dim, there's a light at the table, not too loud, just perfect. Will def be back.

Cookie and Cream CC

This review is strictly for the cookies and cream cheesecake, which is an absolutely delicious dessert. After brunch at a nearby restaurant, I decided to treat myself to a to-go dessert. The ordering process was simple, and the staff were friendly. This menu option continues to be one of my favorite desserts! Over the years, it has never disappointed!

Turkish Coffee and Triple Chocolate Cake

Cafe Intermezzo has s distinct vibe. Something European maybe, it feels a little classy and is a great place for nice dinner, drink, or dessert. The food is solid, with a lovely cake display for dessert, and there are some great, distinct coffee/cocoa options in addition to their alcoholic beverage menu. Service is good, maybe a little slow, but that seems like it could be by design where they're not rushing you. People definitely come to linger over drinks and dessert.

Food and service nightmare. Stale food, absent servers, I had to beg for my check. Had never been before and will never return.

Cafe Intermezzo Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Cafe Intermezzo

Do they serve drinks?

Yes. They have a beautiful full bar.

Are there slower times where it might be more comfortable for me to come in and get some work done on my laptop? I'm not afraid of crowds (not really), but I don't want to hog up a whole table for a couple of hours, and don't like feeling rushed. Thx

Is it dog friendly?

Cafe Intermezzo is dog friendly. Our four legged customers may sit in the section of the restaurant that is not covered by a ceiling. Of course, service animals are permitted anywhere in the restaurant.

When we were seated there were chips, salsa, and water at the table. The chips were dusted with seasoning and the salsa had a nice little kick. I ordered the fish tacos, cilantro rice, and black beans. We ordered the veggie quesadilla for our 1 yo son. My husband ordered the mojo chicken chimichanga. Food came out pretty quickly considering our party size. My husband ended up ordering another mezcalito while I decided to get a passion fruit margarita. Food was flavorful and a good portion size. We all enjoyed our food and the spicy avocado margarita seemed to be a big hit with the table. Birthday girl brought a cake and the restaurant stored it in the kitchen and then came out with sparklers and sang happy birthday. Our server, Justice, did a great job with our party. I had an idea of what this place, but wasn't exactly sure what it all entailed. We walked in and were greeted by a large shelf or should I say shelves of a bunch of different board and card games. We walked to the register and told them we wanted to play some board/card games. I believe it was $7 per hour and then $35 for everything else. Everything else means all the video/electronic games. Think PS5, Switch, PC, Xbox. It was sooooo cool seeing everyone play all the different games. There were bigger groups, couples, people by themselves. It's truly a place where anyone can go and have a good time! We got some drinks (they have a really cool cocktail menu). They do have a food menu too, but we just came from dinner, so we only got drinks. Our service wasn't the best though. It took forever for someone to come and check on us, and no one came to fill our water the entire time we were there. Service could definitely be a lot better! Battle & Brew is in a shopping center, so there is plenty of parking. It's also pretty big too, so there is plenty of seating inside. I would definitely come back here in the future and play some of the video games, as I love to play some Nintendo Switch!

They told us that we would have to show up and just wait to be seated... fine. No big deal, again we are a large group coming in HOT on the weekend... I get it. We call ahead again, closer to the time we were planning to arrive to double check. THIS TIME they said they could reserve us a space and that it wouldn't be a problem. We get there and everything is seemingly fine. The vibes are good and the waiters are taking orders diligently. We understand that this is a huge group (16 of us) and that we would have to be patient with them as they are with us. So everyone puts in there orders. First wave comes out... I noticed that all the food is cold. Not ideal but the food was good so whatever. Second wave comes out, again the food is cold and peoples orders are missing. Fine. We are a big group, it happens. 3rd wave comes and they are seemingly trying to land the plane with us, finalizing anything that may have been missed while also getting refills. One of my friends that was a part of that first wave was still waiting his burger that he ordered (he had informed them twice at this point). 45 mins later the waiter checks on us again... My friend still doesn't have his burger. Cool AGAIN this is a big group... It happens. My side of the table who got all their food are ready to play some games now. We go to the front counter and there is seemingly a good cop/bad cop routine going on. One host says we can rent a station the other says we can't unless all 16 of go to that station. I told him not everyone wants to play games so what if we just cash out now then the 4 of us that do can just play/sit at the station. "YOU CAN'T DO THAT ITS AGAINST THE POLICIES" O....kay... whatever don't take my money, I then tell him I'd like to cash out anyway. "YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" I can't pay you now? "THE TAB CAN ONLY BE SPLIT 5 WAYS" Huh? So not only was this not brought to our attention beforehand but you want to be a jerk about it? There reason was because some people run out on the bill and things get missed. Meanwhile the entire table is sitting here with their cards out ready to pay you? Not to mention if something is missed thats on YOU as you are the person entering the stuff into the system. Mind you we still have folks that were missing food or order was taken only for it to be sitting under a heat lamp. After some back and forth we paid (which they REFUSED to give us an itemized receipt) only for a smug waiter to come out with the missing deserts with creepy smile to literally say to us "I hope you enjoy it..." Nope. Not eating that. Matter fact we will never eat here again. This has been a yearly tradition for some Dreamhack attendees and I can wholeheartedly say that I'll NEVER step foot in here again more will anyone I associate with. If I could give it a 0 I would.

I came in on a Saturday for a 6:15 PM reservation for a party of four. I arrived first on time and my first guest arrived at 6:20 PM. I was told I had to wait till the rest of my party arrived. I set at the bar while waiting for the rest of our party. My friend approached the hostess stand to ask if we could be seated as a party of two . Also, advised the Mexican girl that it will be only 3 but, we don't have to wait for her cause she's not gonna be eating since we're on a time schedule and was attending an event. The hostess was very rude and dismissive, stating "that's not how it works" in an unprofessional tone. Later, another hostess came over and said our reservation had "run over" at 6:35 PM, even though we were already in the restaurant before our reservation time window had passed and there were clearly open tables available. The restaurant wasn't packed at all. When we asked again about a table for two, we were told we could either sit at the bar or wait. The interaction felt very unwelcoming and unprofessional. We told the hostess we wanted a table for two to sit down and eat . The black hostess said , so you want to stay at the bar or you want a table . I said a table. She said , the bar ‍I said no a table. She then said that they could refuse service if we had an attitude, which was not the case . I simply answered her question by saying no . Told her I didn't know that saying no is me having an attitude. At that point, we chose to leave and not spend our money there due to the poor customer service and the rudeness of the hostess. Overall, the staff we interacted with on June 20th at 6:15 PM were rude and unprofessional and clearly need better customer service training. Based on this experience, I understand why there are so many negative reviews.

The DJ was already doing his thing and the bartenders remained busy. As someone who wasn't interested in the drinks, I appreciate that there was a self-serve water cooler in the center of the room. The Jenga and jumbo Uno cards were a hit!!!! It was so nice to have these options available. And as others mentioned, the large screen was playing a classic movie - which we could still see from inside. I didn't stay long and this was a Sunday night but the parking lot was much busier when I left. I imagine the outdoor space gets crowded later in the evening as well. The DJ was just okay - not my cup of tea - but folks seemed to be enjoying themselves. I can definitely see why this place is popular. Although parking is less than desirable, it is not unreasonable. And depending on the DJ, this would be a great place for meeting with friends, date night or just zoning out to some wonderful music ... especially on a beautiful night.
