Mortadella Persian way & Pastrami Star
    Caryl Keith B.

Saw Cafe Izzi all over TikTok for having one of the best pastramis around my area, so naturally I had to see if the hype was real. We ordered the hot pastrami star and wow... every bite was packed with flavor. The pastrami was incredible, layered in bread that was crispy on the outside but still soft inside. We also tried the mortadella sandwich Persian style and you can really taste the quality of their cold cuts. The fresh herbs tied everything together so well. I also tried their brown sugar latte. Flavor was good but I personally like my coffee stronger and this one tasted a little watered down for me. The food was great, the cafe itself is super cute and cozy, but what really made this a 5-star experience was the hospitality. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, and they even boxed up our leftovers for us. Definitely bringing my kid next time so we can try their gelato.

Spotted this cafe on my way to the freeway entrance and stopped by to check it out. It's a cute little cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating. They serve mortadella and pastrami sandwiches which looked amazing. I have to come back and try one. I ordered a cold brew coffee which tasted great. I took it black with no milk or sweetener, the taste was amazing. They also make gelato on site so I gotta try that as well. Will update my review once I come back. Customer service was friendly and welcoming.

I was patiently awaiting their opening since I live in the neighborhood. Finally had a chance to stop by this past week for the first time. This place definitely did not disappoint. The shop is very cute and cozy, and the menu is pretty simple. We came here to try the pastrami sandwich and the Persian mortadella sandwich. The staff were super nice, and we had our food in less than 10 minutes. I've had my share of mortadella sandwiches in my life, and this version was one of the best I've had! This will become a regular in my rotation. Also, the pastrami sandwich was delicious, it melts in your mouth. There are a lot of places serving pastrami nowadays, and these guys are one of the top contenders. I'm glad this is very local to me, and I can stop by anytime I want.

We tried the spicy pastrami and the regular pastrami sandwiches. Both were delicious! The bread was fresh had a crisp bite but was also soft! Just like the bread you find in Louisiana in shrimp po boy sandwiches. The sandwiches were stuffed! Refreshing now a days, when other restaurants reduce quantity. Two people can easily share one. Not too many sides but you don't really need it. Just get a crisp coke!

Cafe Izzi has the best hot pastrami sandwich I've ever had, without a doubt . I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and whenever I'm in Los Angeles, I make it a point to come here just for this sandwich. The pastrami is incredibly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, and the bread is always perfectly toasted. Every bite is absolutely delicious. I've tried pastrami sandwiches at many places over the years, but nothing compares to Cafe Izzi. The quality, taste, and consistency are unmatched. If you're a pastrami lover, this place is a must visit. Carmen and Armen are awesome and super nice too.

A great little corner cafe on Los Feliz blvd. Nicely designed with a modern open kitchen. Turkey n avocado on rustic bread with nice trimming was huge and tasty. Their hand carved pastrami is the real deal. Sandwiches here are plenty enough for 2.Window and outdoor seating or takeaway . Wonderful owner and counter person too.street parking a bit tight so use main blvd.

    Pastrami Star

My boyfriend got the pastrami star sandwich and said it was the best pastrami he's had. I got the vanilla latte and it was also really good! Overall a chill place to grab a coffee and sandwich. Will definitely be back.

Like so dam good. You nod. You pause. You can't stop taking bites and confirming what a delicious sandwich. It's the kind of place where you crave and come back. The crust on the bread has that crunch factor. The Pastrami: 1/2 pound of high quality pastrami. Service is great! Cute cafe with the Atwater Village ambiance.

What a delicious sandwich they make ! It was spot on and exactly what I was craving. Bread was fresh and crunchy. Good balance of flavors. Highly recommend it! I ordered the mortadella and a hazelnut gelato. Was so good! Gonna have to go back for sure and try the other sandwiches in the menu. The owner lady and the staff are all very nice. Great place !

Went here for the first time a few weeks ago and have been dreaming of this sandwich all week. Pastrami star, you are truly the star that lights up my life. The pastrami is thick, juicy, and tender, complemented beautifully by the peppers, mustard, avocado, and cheese. They also make their gelato in-house, rotating various flavors. We caught them today with a saffron/pistachio gelato which was so good and super creamy. Cafe Izzi is such a gem. I hope they stick around for a very long time.

Great hot pastrami. Love the cut. Definition of tight. Substantial and satisfying. I ordered mine with no mayo, lettuce, and tomatoes: mustard instead. It was terrific. Great service. On it-workers. Thank you to the owners and employees for bring this to us.

The menu is inviting with plenty of great options without being overwhelming. Less is more. But let's talk art (culinary, that is). The dishes certainly deserve main features. To start "the best Caesar salad in LA" and I quote which was certainly true. Grilled octopus charred on the inside and juicy at the center. Spicy pomodoro is perfectly al dente and a well-balanced sauce. But, my favorite-- the agnolotti! Wow, melt in your mouth! The flavor profiles of corn, crème fraiche, and old bay were delicious. My only wish -- larger serving of this (smallest pasta serving on the menu). To complete it, banana pudding tiramisu -- delicious too with a firm center and oozy outside. Atala was wonderful and very sweet. Recommendation: come with a group of at least 4 to try more on the menu -- the large plates (branzino and ribeye) looked excellent! Definitely a worthwhile visit.

Of the things we ordered, I really loved the farro salad ($22?) best. Refreshing pomegranate seeds are mixed with the farro and give the salad an added crunch. The farro sits on a bed of dill infused crème fraiche. It is a deliciously refreshing salad and the perfect complement to any meal. For pastas, the sweet corn agnolotti ($28) was so light and fun. The little pockets of agnolotti is stuffed with corn and swims in a savory broth anchored by crème fraiche. It's giving summer and I'm absolutely here for it. Cento's dining space is quaint, so make sure to make a resy.

I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was eating my food in this establishment several months ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is kinda small and tight. Good luck with street parking if you can't find any spots in their lot. They also have valet parking for $13. Tip: Make your reservation 2 - 3 months in advance to get great seating because they get booked up very quickly. Food and Drinks: One of my close male friends and I came here to celebrate both of our birthdays. Bestia is hands down one of the best Italian restaurants here in SoCal. For drinks, my friend and I got the Poderi San Lazzaro. This is a dry red wine from the Marche region of Italy. It is known for its intense ruby color, red berry aromas, and a palate with juicy acidity, soft tannins, and a distinct saline minerality. It's a good pairing for roasted meats and grilled steak. And as for food, my friend and I ordered the roasted bone marrow, oxtail alla vaccinara, 26 oz Margaret river wagyu ribeye, and fromage blanc mousse. To note, all pastas were cooked perfectly al dente. The roasted bone marrow is a signature appetizer served over a bed of spinach gnocchetti. We got to scoop the rich marrow from the bone directly onto the pasta and mix it in table-side. The marrow coats the gnocchetti to create an emulsified, glossy sauce balanced by toasted breadcrumbs and aged balsamic. This was a life changing and mind blowing dish. The oxtail alla vaccinara is a renowned, elevated take on the classic Roman braised oxtail stew. This decadent pasta dish features tender braised meat, wide pappardelle, rich brown butter, pine nuts, and a touch of cocoa powder. The richness of the meat and brown butter is cut through with creamy dollops of burrata cheese and crunchy pine nuts. So yummy! The 26 oz Margaret river wagyu ribeye is a dish that features a massive 26 oz cut of Australian Wagyu, served with burnt onion, fermented mushroom cream, radish, and poppy seeds. This had a melt-in-your-mouth kind of texture, and savory earthiness from the mushroom and onion accompaniments. The ribeye was unmistakably rich and buttery flavor. Get this and you won't regret it. The fromage blanc mousse is a seasonal dessert. This is an incredibly airy, semi-sweet dessert that lands halfway between a light cheesecake and a ricotta. It is served with a pecan graham crust, and candied quince. It's like a fancy smancy cheesecake. Staff: Radu was very helpful, kind, friendly, and attentive to my friend and I. Love this place and will be coming back very soon. They accept credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

Dropped by on a Saturday evening with my brother, no reservation. I was worried we'd be stuck waiting for an hour or more for a table but we were seated in less than ten minutes, despite the fact that it was a full house. The menu has an interesting assortment of traditional Italian pastas, Japanese classics, and Japanese-Italian fusion dishes. It's not a huge menu, but is just the right size to have a number of dishes I wish I could've tried all at once. I went with the bacon and mushrooms Japanese style sauce, which was a dashi and soy sauce base with bacon and mushrooms and a garnish of grated radish and nori. This was incredibly delicious, unique, and a true blend of Japanese and Italian flavors. The bacon was phenomenal and there was a generous amount on the plate. My brother got the arrabbiata. He asked them to not make it very spicy, but it still had a good kick (I definitely wouldn't have asked for it to be milder, but to each their own). The flavors were rich. And in both dishes, the pasta was cooked perfectly. Dinner comes with a complimentary salad and rolls. Our food came out fast, and our server was friendly. The owners were really nice, welcoming people. I loved the vibe of this place, with its dim lighting and quiet, laidback atmosphere. The hostess at the stand that night was all over the place and people were complaining asking where she went and no one knew, but we all noticed once a line began to build, she would disappear. I would recommend making a reservation just so you have a solid place in line and so you're at least ready to be seated. Angel our server was fun! We loved his energy, it wasn't over the top and it was very mellow, but also he was on top of everything and checked in with us and gave us great suggestions for drinks, appetizers, entrees. I will say, this place looks fancy and expensive and also a dream. The outdoor seating is like you're eating in a countryside in Europe and not in Downtown Los Angeles. We sat outside and our table featured a sofa as one of the seating options. We had the best girl dinner and were able to catch up over drinks and food and Candlelight and I didn't want to leave. I had the pizza, my sister had the filet mignon and one of us had the pasta . The calimari was good as the starter and they also had house bread which was so good. The Settecento pizza was my favorite and their pizzas are delicious, light, airy, full of flavor. My sister said her filet was ok but the mushroom sauce was delicious. For dessert, I believe we ordered the Tortino and the Tiramisu and both were great but the Tortino was a little better. I ordered the Toki Pona to drink and couldn't finish it but it was very good. Definitely recommend eating here to everyone. It's great food, ambiance and our server Angel took great care of us.

I ordered the Pappardelle Genovese pasta, and although it looked delicious and had plenty of meat, it was surprisingly bland. I even added sea salt to try to enhance the flavor, but it was still only average. The pizza wasn't bad, but it's not something I would order again. The drinks were fine and looked cute, but nothing particularly memorable. My favorite item was the beet salad. It was delicious and well balanced, with mixed greens, goat cheese, hazelnuts, and a balsamic vinaigrette. That was definitely the standout dish of the meal.
