When I learned about Cafe Izzi, I was curious to see how this new cafe would fare compared to the building's previous tenant. My first visit just involved getting a simple coffee beverage, which I thought was fine but not very memorable. However, someone recommended that I try the pastrami sandwich and raved about how good it was. I took their advice and got one of their hot pastrami sandwiches without the cheese. The tender texture of the meat was impressive though I thought the sandwich could have used some more contrast in the flavors (maybe something acidic or a piquant aioli to offset the rich meat). While I took my food to go, there is seating available if you decide to dine on site. read more

Great sandwiches! The pastrami is hand-cut, so you may have to wait a while. We ordered two pastrami sandwiches with cole slaw. They are big enough for us to share one. The staff is friendly. There is limited indoor and outdoor seating. Street parking. We will definitely be back. read more

Saw Cafe Izzi all over TikTok for having one of the best pastramis around my area, so naturally I had to see if the hype was real. We ordered the hot pastrami star and wow... every bite was packed with flavor. The pastrami was incredible, layered in bread that was crispy on the outside but still soft inside. We also tried the mortadella sandwich Persian style and you can really taste the quality of their cold cuts. The fresh herbs tied everything together so well. I also tried their brown sugar latte. Flavor was good but I personally like my coffee stronger and this one tasted a little watered down for me. The food was great, the cafe itself is super cute and cozy, but what really made this a 5-star experience was the hospitality. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, and they even boxed up our leftovers for us. Definitely bringing my kid next time so we can try their gelato. read more

Spotted this cafe on my way to the freeway entrance and stopped by to check it out. It's a cute little cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating. They serve mortadella and pastrami sandwiches which looked amazing. I have to come back and try one. I ordered a cold brew coffee which tasted great. I took it black with no milk or sweetener, the taste was amazing. They also make gelato on site so I gotta try that as well. Will update my review once I come back. Customer service was friendly and welcoming. read more

Absolutely delicious pastrami and wonderful staff. I believe this business recently opened and they're still figuring out their payment processing system. As of today, they have a website up but they recommend that you call ahead if you wanted to place an order. Not sure it's all connected to their back hand yet. I was patiently awaiting their opening since I live in the neighborhood. Finally had a chance to stop by this past week for the first time. This place definitely did not disappoint. The shop is very cute and cozy, and the menu is pretty simple. We came here to try the pastrami sandwich and the Persian mortadella sandwich. The staff were super nice, and we had our food in less than 10 minutes. I've had my share of mortadella sandwiches in my life, and this version was one of the best I've had! This will become a regular in my rotation. Also, the pastrami sandwich was delicious, it melts in your mouth. There are a lot of places serving pastrami nowadays, and these guys are one of the top contenders. I'm glad this is very local to me, and I can stop by anytime I want. read more

We tried the spicy pastrami and the regular pastrami sandwiches. Both were delicious! The bread was fresh had a crisp bite but was also soft! Just like the bread you find in Louisiana in shrimp po boy sandwiches. The sandwiches were stuffed! Refreshing now a days, when other restaurants reduce quantity. Two people can easily share one. Not too many sides but you don't really need it. Just get a crisp coke! read more

The pastrami meat was amazing, it was juicy, soft, moist, flavorful and when it was in the sandwich it never fell apart, it did get lost in the other flavors of the Star sandwich sometimes which were just as good but out of the handful of pastrami I have eaten this would make the top 10 for sure. read more

A great little corner cafe on Los Feliz blvd. Nicely designed with a modern open kitchen. Turkey n avocado on rustic bread with nice trimming was huge and tasty. YO!!!! Run don't walk. If you're thinking about it (and craving REAL FRESH ITALIAN SUBS) don't think, just go here. So so good. I got the Italian (incredibly good) and my husband got the pastrami slaw (unbelievably good.) If you're looking for the euro summer vibe, they have it. Very cute patio. House made gelato. The freshest most delicious sandwiches and we were greeted by the most lovely staff, two hard working gentlemen in the back. While we waited, she let us sample the gelato which was INCREDIBLE (try the strawberry cheesecake and tart with berry.) this will be a new weekly staple for us! This is for sure - my favorite sandwich cafe. Everything is quality: the bread, the toppings AND THE MEATS! You can't get any Pastrami or French Dip (plus with decent prices) like this anywhere! The freshness of all the ingredients... wow! And the bread goes with the pastrami! I was really blown away with the sandwiches! Then they have gelato on top of that! And it tastes awesome! Cafe Izzi has the best hot pastrami sandwich I've ever had, without a doubt . I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and whenever I'm in Los Angeles, I make it a point to come here just for this sandwich. Wow! Went today with my wife. Split the Italian & Pastrami Slaw. Both great. The Pastrami Slaw is not only the best pastrami sandwich you'll ever try, but it's probably the best sandwich ever! As you walked in, the first thing you will anotice is the smell of hot pastrami, tender juicy hot pastrami. What makes them unique is the way they treat their meats, they hand cut their pastrami.(unbelievable) they have the best pastrami in los angeles. We walked up the street to café IZZI while babysitting our grandson and looking for food. How incredible to discover a great hot pastrami sandwich on a crunchy Italian hero a block away. It's possibly better than Brents or Langers and if you're anywhere East of Beverly Hills and crave pastrami it's worth the trip. They also have a range of cold cut sandwiches that people came in to order and most seemed like repeat customers. I wish I had taken a picture of my sandwich, but I ate it before I could think of that! BTW the lady behind the counter was helpful and friendly and the owner came over to introduce himself. This is a family business with delicious food. We'll be back! Should I tell his parents I feed their beautiful 1 year old son bits of pastrami? He loved it. read more

What can I say but I had the most delicious hot roast beef sandwich from IZZI! I love that they provided aus jus and a horseradish sauce , it just added to the sandwich making it a delicious meal. The roast beef was so tender it just melt in my mouth and combined with the delicious bread. Next time I order I'm going to have a hard time to decide between their pastrami, Italian or hot roast beef sandwiches, they are all amazing: And don't forget to get their potato salad.... Cafe Izzi is the new gem in Atwater. First, the woman who took our order was fantastic, super friendly and very knowledgable of the food. She could have been one of the owners, not sure, but she was great. We had two sandwiches, the Pastrami with everything (I don't remember the name, but it was the one with peppers), and the Caprisi. I'm usually not a huge Caprisi fan, but boy was this insanely good. Believe the hype about the Pastrami, it's THAT good. The ambiance was really sweet, kinda reminds me of a French Bistro. Very clean, and inviting. After our meal, she gave us a tasting of their house-made Gelato. I haven't had any that good since I was in Florence. It was so smooth and full of flavor. I recommend this little spot to anyone who wants a delicious sammy, they're just that good. read more

This place is the real deal when it comes to pastrami. They are right up there with Langers and Daughters deli. The Reuben sandwich was very tasty, not to mention the pastrami with cole slaw, was a mouthwatering sandwich on a roll. They also make homemade gelato. Friendly staff and excellent chief. Went here for the first time a few weeks ago and have been dreaming of this sandwich all week. Pastrami star, you are truly the star that lights up my life. The pastrami is thick, juicy, and tender, complemented beautifully by the peppers, mustard, avocado, and cheese. They also make their gelato in-house, rotating various flavors. So glad to have found this new LA hidden gem. A nice additional to the Los Feliz area. Got their pastrami sandwich and must say...YUM. Thick cut pastrami with Russian dressing and a fresh roll, yes please and thank you. The customer service was fantastic as well. This place is going to be packed with people soon, mark my words. I've tried lots of sandwiches in LA, more specifically the Italian style but what do I know about Italian sandwiches??? Nothing at all... what I do know is great bread, portions and quality. This place has all 3, the bread is super horny, thin soft on top and a little thicker bottom. I like to think of myself as a prastami connoisseur. Izzy's is one of the best pastrami sandwiches I have ever had. The pastrami is tender, hot and juicy. The bread (baked fresh daily) is delicious. I think I found my new favorite sandwhich spot ! Walked in on a Tuesday afternoon & once you step in this establishment is very clean and the staff are very polite . Ordered the hot pastrami and it was one of the best pastrami's I've had in the city . Well balanced and everything blended so well . The pastrami was just melting in every bite . Can't wait to try more sandwich & thank god this place is only a 5 min drive ! Also thank you to the owner ? For the free potato salad this also a nice touch ! read more

Stopped by this sandwich spot recently and the pastrami sandwich was incredible. The meat was super tender, packed with flavor, and piled on generously. You can tell the quality is there from the first bite. The bread was fresh and held everything together perfectly without getting soggy.
