Cafe Me is a great place for a well made sandwich or salad on the go. Very friendly service here and the food is attentively prepared. Their breakfast sandwiches are tops with everything put together fresh, on the spot and at a value few other places in the Financial District can match for te quality of selection. Would I go back? Yes. This is a little carryout breakfast sandwich joint. No other reviews indicated that there were not any seats inside but did note that outside seating is available. This consists of two small cafe tables outside. It is busy at all there will not be any tables. I found the staff to be friendly and willing to offer suggestions on how to construct my breakfast. I ordered the breakfast tortilla that consists of eggs and cheese in a flour tortilla. At the suggestion of the cashier I added Tabasco. This tiny little cafe tucked away in the Financial District may not look like much, but they completely satisfied me this morning. Let's begin with the genuinely pleasant Chinese guy who made my latte and served it up with a heart in the froth. Awesome place for a cheap eat in the Financial District! Had training across the street, and I only had $10 to spend on lunch. I bought the corned beef sandwich with egg, and it was fantastic! Through Yelp I found this tiny little family establishment and I am glad I did. Having been here for a quick breakfast a half-dozen times on my travels in San Francisco, I can say that I am a fan. The food is made to order, is hot, fresh, and the coffee is very good. Usually I will take my food and myself to a quiet park (Levi Strauss Park or the little park east of the Transamerica Building), read, and have myself a wonderful breakfast. The icing on the cake is the chipper woman who takes your order. How can you not have a pleasant day after completing your transaction. The prices here are very reasonable for what you get. They craft their sandwiches so carefully with high quality. And they're filling. Be careful though, they run out of croissants fast! Finding Café Me is a bit of a challenge, as it is tucked away in the corner of a large building in the financial district. It is not much to look at, as it is just a tiny shop with just a few tables out front. The menu is small, but the food makes up for the lack of selections. The breakfast sandwiches are better than average and everything is made fresh to order. You won't find anything fancy here, just good eats. The best thing about Café Me is the spectacularly friendly service. The folks who run the place are accommodating, willing to have a conversation with you, and care about your experience. This place is awesome! It's a family owned and family run business located just outside of the Financial district. Service is always cheery and bubbly every morning... but there's usually a line of folks- no more than a 5min wait if the place is packed. 5 stars is way over-rated for this place. It's a good DEAL. Not great food. The food is *ok*, maybe *good* but., great for the price. I got duped into going here, I yelped "coffee" and up came results like Philz, and CafeMe. The 2 are not comparable... Philz is amazing, maybe the best coffee ever. CafeMe is a good value, and decent quality. I would have gave it 3 stars, except that I wanted to bring the rating down a little bit and save other people like me looking for amazing coffee into being mislead. read more

Cafe Me is downstairs from my office and I am a frequent customer not only because of the convenience, but the prices and service. Chris, the guy who runs it, is great and he sells an egg (real egg!) and cheese breakfast bagel for just $2.50...not bad in my book. Service is usually pretty quick and the quality is high, especially for a little downtown cafe. I've also noticed that Cafe Me can hold on to your camera cell phone if you need to go into the Immigration building across the street as they don't allow any type of camera in the building. (I think it costs a buck or two...better than hiding it in the bushes.) I'm a fan of the Firehouse Cafe's oatmeal, but for all other breakfast and snack needs, I'm at Cafe Me. read more

I was passing thru and looked on yelp for something for breakfast. When I walked in, the girl on the register explained the menus to me which I love when people do because Not everyone knows the menus to everywhere they go! I ordered the sausage, egg and cheese on the muffin. If she had told me the muffins are made in house I'd have believed her. It was the freshest English muffin I've ever had in my life. And I'm from Britain. The sausage turkey patty was seasoned beautifully bursting with flavour I've never tasted on one before. The combination of excellent service and delicious breakfast made this experience one that I will ensure I repeat. Extremely cute little coffee shop on my walk to work - I always get a sesame bagel (as a daredevil, I sometimes switch it up with the Jalapeno bagel, gasp!) with egg, cheese, butter and sausage as well as a cup of coffee. Cafe Me isn't really a sit-down type of spot. You basically come here to pick up what you want and take it with you to where ever you're going so it's perfect to grab on your way to work in the mornings! The owners are extremely friendly and vivacious individuals - you have to meet them to really know what I'm talking about. Simply a great breakfast place. I work close, so on those morning when I am in need of a cheap, delicious breakfast, I know exactly where to go. The people are SO nice, and I don't use those caps lightly; always smiling and happy, they tell you the items they have or, rarely, don't have, ask if you want anything special or different, and they remember your name. The smallest things make such a difference and keep me and my coworker coming back for more. They have a wide range of breakfast choices, I usually go with the egg, cheese, and bacon on a sesame bagel or just a bagel and cream cheese. My coworker is more adventurous: he switches between the lox bagel with capers (nice touch considering capers are not that cheap), the croissant, egg, and bacon sando, or the corned beef w/ egg and mustard. Side note: he said they use a little love when they make the corned beef to give it an extra kick. Very inexpensive - I have never spent more than $5 there. There's usually a lot of people there, so give yourself a little time if you're on break. Outdoor seating only, but they do have a little standing room inside and a TV and cork board of upcoming SF events to keep you entertained while you wait for your yummy food. read more

1. Really great menu. I've tried the breakfast croissant, the fully loaded breakfast burrito and the strawberry, banana & nutella waffle and so far have not been disappointed. My husband has tried the lox bagel, the healthy smoothies (they add spinach to some of them but you seriously cannot taste it!), and a panini and has loved all of them. He's also happily working his way through the ENTIRE SHELF of hot sauce they have and is loving it! 2. Incredibly friendly staff. They always ask me how my day is going, and they come by with samples of things if I decide to eat there. This is a new place, and you can tell they're throwing their heart and soul into making sure people love coming here. 3. Great environment. There are tons of comfy seats to choose from. One of my new favorite things to do is to come here with the paper on Saturday morning and spend a couple hours reading through everything. They also have great artwork on the walls and a whole selection of books you can browse through. When I Java was very new, it was pretty empty. However, every time I come back, I see more and more patrons - definitely a sign that they're doing something right! 4. Reasonable prices. They have a loyalty program for coffee (buy 9 get the 10th free I think), discounts for local patrons, and a discount if you order through an iPhone app. Pretty nice! read more

Just reopened 2/27/12 A cozy and quaint little place hidden under a big red brick building at 500 washington st. It's a small little place. Most of it is the kitchen and theres just enough room to walk in and order your meal. It's definitely got a mom-and-pop feel to the place. Service is always warm and welcome. And not the kind of corporate-enforced friendly that they have at starbucks. If you come a few times they will remember you and their always open to a nice little chat if their not too busy. The food is REALLY cheap. A freshly made egg mcmuffin and a small coffee all for $4. The food is really good and they will cater to any of your reasonable needs. The house coffee is also really good, which I didn't expect. It's a smooth oak wood roast. Can't sing this place enough praises. Right on the border of the financial district / chinatown / north beach i suppose. It's a little hole in the wall that not many people would notice at all but they have some of the best breakfast in the area. Their sausage muffin sandwich with egg is my favorite. That is always one thing to rate a breakfast place on and theirs is on point! Portion isn't huge either, but the flavors all there. That egg is perfect with the toasted muffin and everything tastes fresh! Definitely better than that starbucks toasted breakfast sandwich. I would rather go to Cafe Me than starbucks now read more
