    Panko crusted shrimp salad

A former colleague and I met up here for lunch. It's a small, unassuming place in mid-city. Service was fast and friendly. We ordered the shrimp spring rolls and they were very fresh. Peanut dipping sauce was tasty. I ordered the panko crusted shrimp salad. It was fabulous! The menu had lots of good options. I felt like it was a little pricey compared to comparable vietnamese spots. , but I would try them again. Only street parking so get there early.

The food was delicious! Service was on point from Josh and Alan! Combination flavor explosions in your mouth! Banana crème brulee is a must as well as Raspberry cheesecake! Ambiance is cool and all.. on a Tuesday night it was empty! Place deserves more love and attention!

Good food and a relaxed environment. Lots of great options on the menu. I went with the seafood spring roles then the stir fried shrimp. Both were tasty and had some good flavors, but I'd hoped for a bit more spice or zest. The service was immaculate though, so may come back just for that

I've been wanting to try Cafe Minh for awhile so when a friend called to join him there, I was all in. Our waitress was warm and helpful. She rattled off a specials list almost as big as the menu. Which was terrible because everything sounded so good I wanted to order it all! We started with a sampling of appetizers. First was a special of clam chowder. A modest sized cup of New England style with more broth than cream, so a lighter version that was flavorful and good. The crab watermelon appetizer came next. Fresh herbs, lime, a hint of jalapeño with house made shrimp chips made this refreshing and ample offering our favorite of the night. Last in our appetizers round was the shrimp beggars purses - beautiful homemade dumplings with a rich dipping sauce that hit a perfect balance of sweet, spicy, savory. I need to take my dumpling loving daughter back for these. For entrees I got the special of lobster tortellini (I couldn't resist) and my friend got a spicy catfish dish. The tortellini was homemade and large with an herbaceous tomato cream sauce. It was topped with fried lobster which I don't think did the lobster justice. Loved the ravioli though and would get again. My friends catfish had a balanced savory sauce that also went great with the ample steamed vegetables it was served with. As a surprise, the chef came out to say hi to us and then delivered us to desserts: mango cheesecake which was divine! I will definitely be back to bring my daughter who will be over the moon fir those dumplings!

Can't remember when I enjoyed a meal or companionship more than my first experience at cafe Minh. My friend Cindy is a fellow foodie adventurer and worthy dining companion. I have been dying to try some upscale Vietnamese fusion (love me some Vietnamese groceries) and I heard this was the spot. I have seen the chef on tv and was impressed with her creativity. I called her daughter Twee who I met on a previous culinary adventure and she set up the trip and opportunity to say hi to mom in person. Mmmmmmmm Not sure where to begin as the awesome started early. Started with wine while I waited on Cindy. I sprang this adventure on her an hour or so before so she was a sport for tagging along. I ordered something unusual and Spanish (Rioja) for dinner. I often troll the bargain end of the wine list for potential treasures. This paired well with our diverse offerings. Appetizers were clam chowder, watermelon crab salad with shrimp crackers and some homemade pot stickers. The watermelon appy took first prize for creativity and taste. I'm honestly not a huge fan of melon but the balance of crab and melon and herbs and those delightful crackers was divine. Not sure how u even make a shrimp cracker but they were like little mini works of art, in shrimp. Delicious alone but the savory for the melon was a great taste pairing. Very unique. I had bbq catfish Vietnamese style with plenty of veggies. Nice! Love me some well cooked bak Choi. This dish is a Vietnamese staple I find irresistible. Cyndi ordered Lobster special because she's a Ho for lobster. Very creamy yummo! Chef came out (on her birthday) to say howdy and we got to chat about her restaurant, her cuisine and that chunky little grand baby. I was overstuffed after dinner but she surprised us with 2 lovely desserts. This was way above and beyond hospitable. That's how they roll here tho. Hospitality in the restaurant business is a dying art. For me it separates a great meal from an extraordinary dining experience that keeps me coming back. I was honored to be treated like royalty and it was a pleasure to meet Chef Cyndi. Twee hope to see u there on my next journey so I can pinch that baby's cheeks. Do yourself a favor and set up a visit here soon with a pleasant dining companion. It'll set u back a few shekels but it's money we'll spent on a very memorable romp thru foodie play land. Can't wait to hit it again!

All around the best Vietnamese-influenced restaurant in Nola proper. Beautiful ambience for date night or client lunches. The owners Minh and Cynthia are the most wonderful down-to-earth chefs I've met during my 5 decades as a native New Orleanian. The brisket Pho is the best pho in the city!

We were looking for something different for a birthday and wanted to help Support New Orleans restaurants. We gladly flashed that vaccine pass at the door. It felt like a private club at that point. We had beggars purse with a fantastic thick dipping sauce and delicate wrapper. Also the special shrimp cake appetizer. The shrimp were super fresh and the dry was crisp and not oily. The bBQ catfish entree was AMAZING. Tons of lemon grass flavor, perfectly done catfish and beautiful vegetables. Lastly red curry shrimp pasta. Delicate coconut and red curry flavor w fresh perfectly cooked shrimp. We will absolutely be back!

Nico (sp?) was such a gem and treated us so well on the night my cousin and friends took me out to…read morecelebrate my birthday! I have a love/hate that they change their menu because I thought I did my due diligence and studied the menu and precious Yelp reviews to prepare what to order. But then the menu changed but it was fine bc Nico helped steer us to all the good stuff! We ordered a bunch of dishes and ate family style so we could try everything! The stand outs to me were the Pani Puri with the fiery mint water that you pour and lets you control the heat (you eat it in one bite), the Pork Dan Dan Buco Di Creste noodles (we asked not too spicy, we're getting older! Haha ), the Gulf Shrimp Pakora, and the ice cream pie from Lucy Boone! Mister Mao is where the old Dick and Jenny's restaurant used to be across from Rouse's on Tchoupitoulas. It's a little pricey but so worth it for a fancy night out!! And ask for Nico, he's the best!!

We came here for gals brunch a few months back. I loved the energy here. The staff, the bartender,…read morethe waiter are all quirky and fun. The decor kind of matches that energy. And so does their 'pics of cats' all over the menu. I am a cat person, so that won me over right there. They were running the special for a family style meal for $54 ++. You get to try so much, we decided to get 3 since there were 6 of us. I enjoyed the food more than the cocktails. The coffee cocktail was really not good and possibly my least fav coffee cocktail in the city. I think it needs a revamp. The ingredients are basically hoodoo chicory, it just tasted like all bitter. I didn't order any other drinks after that. I did try the gals drinks and they were all just ok. As for the food, I think the clear winner was the garlic noods. Not only did every slurp theirs up, fighting over it, almost all of us ordered a garlic noodle to go! That was top notch and I still thinking about that today! The dumplings were good, the shrimp was better than the rice dumpling. I enjoyed the ginger salad and fried chicken. It was an interesting fusion of flavors and a very fun atmosphere to be in. I will absolutely be back for the drool worthy garlic noodles.
