I used to eat here all the time when I lived in Indy, and I come back each time I visit. Their options for gluten free and dairy free are easy to identify and taste wonderful. Also, easy to spot healthier choices as well as vegetarian/vegan. Service is great. They offer self service coffee, but the lattes are very good. read more

The soup/sandwich option hit the spot. I ordered matzo ball soup with vegetarian sandwich (tomato, cream cheese, mayo, Swiss, and white cheddar) on toasted sourdough. I was not disappointed! It was just the right amount of food to satisfy. The fruit was fresh. The soup was hot and flavorful rather than dull like many matzo ball soups I've had in the past. The sandwich was my favorite: the slices of cheese were THICK. Wonderfully thick. The sourdough was toasted just the right amount, not enough to cut my gums or hard to chew. They always make a quality omelet. Cinnamon toast is to DIE for. It's a quality menu. My drink- tea. They have English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Chamomile and a couple other basic teas, and they at least give you a big enough pot of water so that you can refill your cup. So I'm torn. This is one of those times I wish I could give 3.5 stars. Good service. Good ingredients, but this past visit I was less than impressed with my omelet. I remembered my meal being better the first time I dined here. Overall though I think that the diversity of their menu and the quality of the ingredients would draw me back again (next time I am in town). When I leave here, I don't feel weighed down. Patachou is great! The first time I went to Patachou was when I was visiting Indianapolis for a job interview. It was the first place I ever ate at in Indiana. Well my job interview went well and every time my wife comes to visit me, we go to Patachou for breakfast/brunch, it's her favorite place in Indiana. My wife gets the broken yolk sandwiches and I get the omelets, you really can't go wrong. I usually get the omelet you can't refuse, or I make my own combo. The in house sourdough bread and cinnamon toast are just so good! I love to get the jam for them. The little cup of fruit also never disappoints and they taste fresh. I've thought about getting their soups and sandwiches as well, but I just like the omelets so much I keep sticking to them. I really like the idea of the self serve coffee, it just makes everything very easy and convenient. Their coffees are generally good, but one time I got one that was named Irish or something and that tasted like pure tobacco to me, which wasn't very appetizing. When my wife's not in town, I like to go there early to get a few slices of cake, like the coconut cake, the Meyer lemon cake, and the lemon tart. Finally got around to an early morning visit for breakfast. Very happy my wife and I stopped by on a cool Sunday morning in February. Very nice staff, "Hello"s all around as we came in, our server introduced himself by name and told us about the morning's special, and brought us a bottle of still water for the table. The menu is full of tasty sounding breakfast food, my wife created an omelet of avocado and brie with mushrooms. She always asks for well done eggs and they arrived browned to her liking. Extra star just for that. I had the "3 piggy" omelet, Smoking Goose jowl meat, bacon, and ham. Really, really good. I like that they offer a simple lightly dressed lettuce medley instead of taters. The bread is obviously home made, sliced Texas Toast thick, comes with a side of strawberry jam for me, butter and cinnamon for her. Outstandingly good bread. Nice presentation, nice menu variety, well lighted, friendly.... just go there, don't hesitate. You'll be glad you did. read more

Brought my sister here over the weekend for brunch. This place has wonderfully fresh food. Can't go wrong with the omelette of the day. On this particular day it was white cheddar and asparagus tips. The omelettes come with amazingly fresh fruit and your choice of toast. I highly recommend the cinnamon toast. My sister ordered the Broken Yolk Sandwich, it was delicious. I will be trying that one next time. Definitely not fast food, we had to wait an hour to get seated, but the coffee bar and the socializing helped with the wait time. 2 words, Cinnamon Toast! It is literally the best I've had. They make it on sourdough bread & it literally is like heaven in your mouth. They also have a really good breakfast. Each time I've gone, I've gotten an omelet (the Omelet You Can't Refuse to be exact). It's has bacon, white cheddar, potatoes, and a side of sour cream. I usually add sausage to it & get extra sour cream. When it comes to breakfast, I'm not one to explore and get different things so I'm not exactly sure how the rest of the menu tastes. I'm not a huge pancake or waffle fan (I hate maple syrup) so a basic omelet or breakfast is what I get & this omelet always gets me right. It also comes with a side of fruit or lightly dressed arugula. If you are going on a weekend, be prepared for a line. Each time I've gone, they have over guessed the wait by a lot so you actually get seated way quicker than expected, which could be a positive or negative depending on how you look at it. read more

My husband and I visit Indy often, and try to get to Cafe Patachou at least once. This is our favorite location--we think it's the original. The ambiance here is bright and cheery, kind of an upscale diner feel. Service at this location has been excellent so far. The servers have always been prompt and polite, though not terribly chatty, which isn't necessarily a bad thing when I haven't had my coffee. Prices are on par with similar places--not cheap but not exorbitant either. We've never had a bad meal here. We especially like the greens as a side, which is a nice change of pace from your typical hash browns/breakfast potatoes. The self-serve coffee station can get a little crowded but at least they are quick to replenish when something runs out. read more

Does Patachou ever get it wrong? I have yet to see that it does. Whenever friends come in from out of town this is a highly recommended breakfast spot. I have only been to this location just a couple of times (mostly frequent the downtown location). I highly recommend coming on a nice day when the outside seating is open. This leaves more tables for seating and less of a wait. I've sat inside and outside. During this visit I was doing a Whole 30-like challenge and was limited on what I could eat, including what oils my food was cooked in. Our waitress was SO accommodating. I was embarrassed to even bring it up but she reassured me that she wanted to help me in any way. I was able to get an omelet cooked in just olive oil & double fruit as my side. It was SO good. First time eating at this location and Patachou continues to be an impressive local chain. On a Saturday morning after yoga, nothing sounded more appealing than brunch so Patachou was the obvious choice. We were seated immediately at the new table in front of the front door (prime real estate) and served quickly. I usually stick with breakfast sandwiches but decided to go with the Cuban breakfast and that was the perfect choice. I'm a little wimpy when it comes to spice so I have the spinach/jalapeno sauce on the side and was able to incorporate it to my taste. The rice, beans and avocado made for a delicious combination and I finished a little too quickly as I couldn't stop myself! We were passing through town on a road trip and went here with friends who live in Indy. What a fantastic brunch spot! The interior is bright, sleek and clean. The wait staff is friendly and prompt. As a group of 5, we were seated quickly and didn't wait long at all for our food to come out after ordering. I ordered the croissant french toast with sugar roasted pecans, side of fruit and added a side of sunny side up eggs. The French toast was very tasty, not overly sweet and had a nice caramelization. They weren't chincy with the toasted pecans, which I loved. The fruit cup is a nice medley of different fruits - not the typical melon and strawberries blah. My favorite item was the cold pressed juice! I ordered the green machine. It was a lovely blend of parsley, cruciferous leaf and apple juice. Thoroughly invigorating and refreshing! All around a great experience. Plenty of veggie and vegan options. They even offer my favorite veggie "meat" brand Field Roast. Outrageous prices, cold and unimaginative food, tables jammed together, rude service. Never again.

Having been a loyal patron of this establishment forever, I am disheartened by the new policy to not allow patrons to sit down until all persons in the party are accounted for. This policy does not take into account persons with disabilities for whom standing (or leaning) is a painful option. There were numerous open tables, but I was not allowed to sit until my friend showed up. When I said, "Fine, then, I am a party of one, may I please sit down?" they said "Sorry, but you already said you were a party of two." I talked with the manager, and she offered to get me a chair to sit down on while I waited. The chair would be placed in a cramped area by the front door... on a wet, cold, and windy day. When I declined that offer, I was "allowed" to sit at the counter until my friend arrived. Poor customer service today. Also, you MUST take in to account folks with disabilities, whether you can see said disability or not! read more

The table settings were quaint and cute; I believe this was the first time I was served water out of a fancy bottle, that was left with my friend and I. There was SO much to look at on the menu--and it was exciting to me because breakfast food is my favorite, and they have a WIDE array of scramble, omlettes, and tasty mix-ins. Our food came piping hot; my omelette had mushrooms, balsamic onions, and herb cream cheese. OMG. They went a little heavy on the cheese, but it was still good. The cinnamon toast made me VERY nostalgic. I'm going to try to emulate it. Soon. Our server was moderately attentive--and the managers were VERY nice and accommodating. For a college student who lives off of mac and cheese, it's a nice change to eat something and feel healthy doing it. Waitress was rude, menu was extremely limited (which was not noted on their website) and their bathrooms were closed. 0/10 would recommend, at least during "covid".
