in | Brunch | $50-100 First time for us our server Arta was helpful with her explanation of menu. We sat in a booth the inside is rustic Texas theme with Fort Worth proudly displayed next to the flag gotta love that. I went with my standard Philly Cheesesteak while Diana went with the Apple Walnut Cranberry Salad food was fresh and hot. Portions were plenty and we left full, although we had brunch their breakfast menu and pricing will definitely have us making another trip this way. Food: 4/5 | Serv

Service was great. Fast service. Big portions. Kids tenders blew me away at how huge they were. Iron skillet was delicious. Everything was amazing. Would come again.

The Alamo - brisket and egg tacos with hashbrowns

Doing "eat the alphabet" with the family and this was our C restaurant. We don't typically venture out this way, but found this place on Yelp, and my fellow Yelpers didn't disappoint with this one! We arrived just before noon on Sunday afternoon so there was about a 20 minute wait. The wait went by quickly and we ended up being seated 10 minutes later. The three of us opted for coffee and water. The coffee was legit! I probably could have drank a whole pot by myself. The food arrived quickly and was fresh. I ordered the Southern Scramble (biscuit, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, gravy and cheese), kid ordered the Chicken & Waffles, and hubs ordered The Alamo (2 tacos with eggs and brisket with a side of hashbrowns). So. Much. Food. The chicken and waffles came with 3 huge pieces of chicken! I've never seen chicken and waffles with this much chicken before. You typically get 1 small piece of chicken, or a wing. It was impressive. The breading was delicious but the waffle could have been just a tad sweeter. The scrambler contained the best of all breakfast items and hubs loved the tacos. The inside is very Texas and back the blue as I believe the owners are police or retired police. The cafe is family owned and operated which is very cool! Our waitress gave us some backstory and let us know that they plan on opening another restaurant down the road that will serve lunch and dinner. We are definitely looking forward to visiting again and trying more of the menu.

Our waiter was really polite and attentive, even with how busy the restaurant was this weekend. The food was delicious! I got the breakfast burrito with sausage, which came with a very mild salsa.

Had a great breakfast experience on a Sunday morning. I honestly have zero complaints. Our waitress was great, very attentive and detailed. The food was really great, hot, and came out really quick. The food ordered was 2 SOS, southern scrambler, the sampler, and a single banana nut pancake. Everything was so good! We will definitely be back.

There's several items on the menu that looked amazing and I couldn't figure out if I wanted a Benedict or avocado toast, so I guess I'll have to go back and give it another try! I did get one solo sweet potato pancake to go and then I got the classic breakfast with three eggs. everything was perfectly cooked (like I specified with my modifications, which sometimes throws restaurants off and I know it's a little complicated) to ask for crispy bacon and crispy hashbrowns, but it's just how I am. I was very grateful that the butter was actually melted on the bread unlike other local breakfast places around town where the bread comes out cold and they give you the butter on the side. Oak milk latte was awesome on ice - very cute booths and tables inside, very clean inside. Had an amazing server who was prepared to answer all of my questions about drinks and the way that food was served and prepared and also gave food recommendations. His name was Johnny - I would recommend him over and over.

Given how popular the place appears to be, one might expect the operation to be a bit more prepared for the crowds. As for the food, it was perfectly ordinary. Not bad, not memorable, and certainly not worth planning your day around. If you've eaten breakfast before, you've likely had something very similar. The atmosphere resembles a busy public kitchen more than a relaxing café. Conversations compete with clattering dishes, making it difficult to enjoy a peaceful morning coffee or breakfast. Overall, I would keep this place as a backup option rather than a destination. It's the kind of restaurant that becomes useful when everywhere else is full.

However, I find the food to be quite a let down, not worth the price. I had the sourdough and it was good. I had the steak and fries for the main course with the upgrade cuts of steak. The fries were well seasoned however not all was good evenly and some over cooked and some undercooked. The steak was okay, the sears were bad and so was the overall flavor. Overall, I think it's a great place for a business meet up and if you are standing at the property but nothing too special. Note: this was lunch menu and I heard the burger here is good so many you can try that but I wouldn't recommend the steak at all.

My table was ready at my reservation time, and I was promptly seated. While I waited for a friend, I went ahead and ordered the carajillo, which was really good. For food, I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was good, but the waffles were not a favorite and was a bit too hard. The atmosphere was energetic, and a little loud, so be prepared to have to talk loudly to the person you come with. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, which I really appreciated. We opened with a cocktail from the bar, which set a high bar for what followed -- unfortunately, not everything cleared it. The Deviled Eggs with Spicy Best Maid Pickles arrived looking the part, four to an order, but tasted like they'd forgotten to show up to their own party. Bland, flat, and in desperate need of seasoning, we reached for the salt shaker, which helped, but shouldn't have been necessary. The pickles, to their credit, were doing their absolute best and were genuinely the only flavor happening on that plate. Skip these. The pickles deserve better supporting cast. The Cheeseburger with Wasp Sauce on a potato bun, however, is a different story entirely. We ordered it medium, half expecting the kitchen to interpret that however it pleased, but it arrived cooked exactly as requested, which felt like a small victory worth celebrating. The Wasp Sauce is a mystery worth solving, and the house-made chips that come alongside are fresh, crisp, and dangerously snackable. Pro tip: order a side of ranch for dipping. You're welcome. We also added a side of fries, which were equally excellent. No notes. Little Red Wasp has real charm, great energy, a fun bar, and a cheeseburger worth crossing Main Street for. Just steer clear of the deviled eggs and order the chips with abandon.

Want a southern Louisiana breakfast in Fort Worth? Check out Fixe Southern House in ClearFork…read more Sunday brunch was so nice. Went for the biscuits, but our very wise waitress, Adriana, warned us that the biscuits were made with lard. Well that knocked out a bunch or breakfast options. She was so sweet and actually went to the kitchen and marked the menu pointing out lard-free menu choices. On the menu. Using black ink dots. Above and beyond. So we regrouped our breakfast plans and went mainly vegetarian. The Herbivore was absolutely delicious! Antebellum cheese grits topped with garlicky kale, romanesco and a soft boiled egg. We added a second egg. Split with my hubby. So good!! My sister-in-law had the brioche French toast. French toast topped with honey better, fresh berries and pecan granola. Served with maple syrup. Amazing! Added the duck fat breakfast potatoes. Who knew that the flavor would be so enhanced with the onions, peppers and duck fat. Get this side! Not a coffee drinker, but my hubby really enjoyed the coffee that is sourced from Cusco, Peru. Adriana made sure that the cups were always full and hot. We started with the biscuits and cinnamon roll. I would recommend both. The biscuits came with a jam, honey and whipped butter. The cinnamon roll, which may look a bit underwhelming had a such a great crispy texture on the outside while still being fluffy on the inside. The icing wasn't too sweet and complimented the roll nicely. For the table, we had the pollo frito biscuit w/duck fat potatoes, Brisket Benedict w/okra and the Fixe Breakfast entree w/maple sausage and potatoes. The pollo Frito was delicious, the chicken was seasoned well and maintained crunch even within the biscuit. Duck fat potatoes were also good but were even better after adding some salt. The brisket benny was okay, the texture of the brisket was very odd and didn't really hold up to the egg. Although the okra had a great flavor the batter was a bit too thick which made it chewy. The Fixe breakfast was great and the maple sausage was perfect. Our waitress was Adriana, she was great and very helpful. Overall we would definitely come back and look forward to trying dinner one night.
