We were looking for a place for lunch after visiting the Walt Disney Museum and saw Cafe RX on Yelp. It's tucked away behind a building in the Presidio, mostly catering to the people working in the nearby offices. You order at the counter and find a place to sit. The woman taking our order was really nice and told us that if we paid with cash, she'd give us a couple of drinks and a cookie. Needless to say, we paid with cash and tipped (for which she seemed super grateful). There's indoor seating, which is somewhat charmless, and outdoor seating. We sat indoors since it was a little chilly and windy outside. The food was much better than I expected, especially given the reasonable price point. I got a tuna melt ($9.95), which didn't look like what I expected, but had carrots and celery in the tuna salad (which was pretty tasty) and came with an organic green salad. My daughter got the chicken caesar with provolone cheese sandwich ($10.95), made with free-range chicken and served with organic mixed greens. My husband got a shrimp ceviche $12.50), one of the daily specials. Everything tasted really fresh and it felt like the food was made with love. We even got a bowl of avocado on the side gratis (it was close to closing before the weekend, so maybe they were trying to give it a good home - either way, it was appreciated). This is not a destination restaurant but definitely a good place for breakfast or lunch if you're in the area and are looking for a bite to eat. A much better option than the cafe by the Presidio transit station or the food trucks!

Cool spot! Found out it's where people eat if they're going to do Lucasfilm stuff? I got told there is Yoda nearby. food was delicious! Bathrooms down the hall always a plus. Entrance in a weird spot through grass always cool.

Went here after going to the Palace of Fine Arts. It's a very peaceful cafe with plenty of seating. The customer service was very friendly and the food came out quickly. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich which was reasonably priced and came with a light salad. Both tasted extremely good! I also had the sprinkle and peanut butter cookies which were also amazing! Overall, I would highly recommend this place. :)

Little cafe hidden in the presidio with great lunch options: soups, sandwiches and salads. Their service was friendly and super quick! There a few tables to eat inside and a couple picnic tables on the lawn out back.

Enter down the sidewalk right infront of that guy, cafe is inside this building. Not much parking.

Stopped by this cafe after touring a wedding venue in the Presidio. I got the chef salad, and mi mamá had the special of the day, open face veggie sandwich with side salad. Both were really good and filling! I would absolutely stop by if in the area in the early morning/afternoon. You walk into the building, and the cafe is to the left. There are indoor tables and chairs but with this weather in March, we enjoyed them right in front. total was aprox $30 for 2 people. I believe they close at 2 or 3 pm best for morning or early lunches

The decision to try this place for lunch was stupendous. I had the tuna melt. - YUM It came with a small tasty salad and was served on fresh toasted bread. The quality was more than decent and a involuntary sigh of contentment escaped my lips more than once. Come early to avoid the inevitable lunch queue.

This seems to be sandwich shop that typically are in office buildings for workers to grab lunch. They also have a daily soup and salads. The food is very good, with vegetarian options and not at unreasonable prices. If I am nearby & need to find a place to eat, I would come back.

If you want a quick meal near the Presidio, this place is fresh and creative. Yummy salads, sandwiches and breakfast until 11. Mark had a tuna salad sandwich ... bread was toasted & good. I had a combo with gazpacho soup, a small salad and half a tuna sandwich. It was delicious. The gazpacho was bursting with flavor. Can't give it 5 stars because it kind of feels like you're eating great food in a hallway. Linoleum floors & etc. Dog friendly: it was hot outside so we ate inside. I'd it were cooler, we would have eaten outside on a picnic table near grass.

I have tested many sandwiches at this location with names such as the Bad date sandwich and also the Freak sandwich along with the Rated - R- sandwich. This place also sells liquor to pair with your sandwich. On the last week of the Spring 2026 stroll I landed at Golden Gate not the world famous bridge but the Golden Gate Market. One thing about people visiting San Francisco is they come to eat from around the world. One thing the world eats is sandwiches. Inside Golden Gate Market you will see refrigerators filled with cherry and lemon flavored drinks along with soda and beers. You will also find different types of salty chips to pair with your sandwich. I got the San FranPsycho sandwich and it was a tasty. I had many sandwiches under the sun in SF and this is definitely worth checking out if you are in the Marina by the Presidio entrance. Ordered and walked out in the span of 10 min. Very italian deli with tiramisus and cannolis. Tons of italian snacks and puff pastries, and a convenient location to pickup anything from beers/wines to premade cannoli shells and gelato. One thing to note is you cannot customize the sandwich, not sure about the pizzas, which smelled delicious. They only make speciality sandwiches on their menu, but surely can't go wrong with any of the choices. They're packed with a sizeable amount of meat as well as greens. The half was enough to fill me up and they were kind enough to wrap them separately.

The fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and quality bread make for a simple but perfectly executed sandwich, and the avocado addition makes it even better. The service is always friendly and efficient, whether you're stopping in for a quick lunch or taking your time looking through the shop. The atmosphere has that classic Italian deli feel -- casual, welcoming, and full of character. I also love that it's more than just a sandwich shop; the deli includes an Italian market with imported products, specialty items, and other treats that make it fun to browse while you're there. They also have multiple locations throughout San Francisco, which makes it convenient when you're craving a great Italian sandwich. The biggest downside is the price. Limoncello is definitely on the expensive side for a sandwich, especially if you add extras, so it's more of an occasional treat than an everyday lunch spot. But the quality of the ingredients and the overall experience keep me coming back. A great neighborhood deli for anyone looking for a fresh Italian sandwich, friendly service, and a little taste of Italy in the city.

It's consistently good, and you always know what you're going to get. One of the biggest standouts for me is the service. Every member of the staff is incredibly professional and genuinely seems to care about the restaurant. It honestly feels like everyone has an owner's mentality. They're attentive without being overbearing, and the experience always feels polished from start to finish. Food wise, I definitely have my favorites. The buffalo wings are an absolute must. I'm not usually someone who loves spicy food, but these are so good that I order them every single time. I always ask for them tossed instead of having the sauce on the side, and they've never disappointed. The fries are another staple. Whenever I bring friends or family here, they're always one of the first things we order. They're beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, and one of those dishes that everyone at the table ends up reaching for. I've also had the carpaccio a few times and have always enjoyed it. The one thing that wasn't for me was the shaved Brussels sprouts salad. I know it's one of their signature dishes and plenty of people absolutely love it, but it just wasn't my personal favorite. That's completely a matter of taste rather than execution. I haven't really explored the pizza or pasta menu because those just aren't dishes I typically order, so I can't really comment on them. If I had one critique, it's that I do think the restaurant is a little overhyped. There's almost always a line out the door, and while I definitely think it's a great restaurant, I personally don't think it's worth waiting forever if you have other good options nearby. That said, it's consistently reliable, which is probably why it's always so busy. For lunch, this is honestly one of my go to spots, especially when I'm hosting people. If some of my other favorites like Mama Noko or Tia aren't open, this is almost always where we end up. In the evenings, I sometimes lean toward those places because I tend to prefer lighter meals and salads for dinner, whereas this menu is definitely a little richer and more indulgent. Overall, though, I've had consistently great experiences here over the years. Great service, consistently good food, a lively atmosphere, and a restaurant I'd happily continue recommending to both locals and visitors.
