This place is great for a big group. We all ordered separately and ordered the giant mimosa. I ordered the strawberry waffles. They were delicious and complimented the mimosa really well. The mimosa was well portioned and for a big group, it was almost hard to finish. Overall, my meal and mimosa tasted delicious and I can't wait to come back soon. read more

So good. People are missing out on this Mexican breakfast spot. Their breakfast potatoes are amazing. My husband loves their Chorizo burrito. It's not greasy and is full of flavor. I love their veggie burrito because it's filled with spinach, potatoes, eggs, zucchini, cheese, avocado. Actual veggies!. Their Chilaquiles is also phenomenal. They have several non-Mexican options as well. Like their mini pancakes, which are incredibly fluffy, considering their mini. French toast is great. Service is always friendly and fast. Happy to have found a good cup of Cafe de Olla. For that alone I'd give this place the 5 stars, as many times I've been disappointed in other places here in OC. I liked the chilaquiles, not too soggy not too crunchy, the red sauce was good and overall I had a great lunch. I thought the service was quick and they seemed to care about my experience. read more

We came to Cafe Zocalo specifically because their menu had mimosas. We ended up finding out that they do not have a liquor license so they do not have mimosas. They do offer a Yelp check in of a free mimosa but was of no use since they don't serve it. Being a caffeine addict and on a cafe hopping journey, I ended up ordering their mayan mocha. It totally hit the spot! The cafe itself is located in Old Town Orange, so there's street parking and a few parking lots that surround the area. It's 2 levels and is decorated beautifully. The aesthetics is unique. The service was super friendly, great vibes, great attitude. We will be coming back again in the near future to enjoy their mimosas. read more

Located in Old Town Orange known for its Mexican-inspired breakfast and brunch options, as well as its relaxed, charming atmosphere. The cafe also serves unique drinks like the Mexican hot chocolate and horchata iced coffee. Our waiter generously allowed us to tatse before ordering. I just left this establishment, literally walked out. First issue was upon being seated a waiter delivered two wrong drinks to my table. But more disappointing was we were not waited upon at all after sitting there like dummies for ten minutes. I finally told my wife let's leave. The place is small enough to not be overwhelmed and it was not an overcrowded day or anything of that sort. So no excuse. Bad service. Means no service. read more

This is our 2nd time here. An hour or so from LA, we came ftom San Fernando valley, its freaking hot today btw lol. So after the fun of shopping at nearby antique shops, unique shops, urban shops, we decided to sit and eat here. It was awesome last visit...and it is again the second time around. The staff here are just wonderful, friendly, attentive humans!!! Lol they just keep making sure, that they attend to you. Nothing short of great service!! Cool, airy, wood furniture inside, the modern Latin urban vibe you get in here. Me gusta! Tambien! Oh and they also have sweets up the front counter, get em to go or eat after. Highly recommend! I had the best experience with Cafe Zocalo! I contacted them as I needed to organize lunch for a company event. Juan was very helpful and walked me thru options and we were able to come up with an incredible menu. On the day of the event Mariana went above and beyond! The food was fresh and delicious that not a single sandwich was left! Ordering for a big group is hard and let me just say everyone loved the food! I had breakfast here with friends...service was great. The food was ok; I didn't care for the sausage, though. My Mayan Mocha was yummy. We sat upstairs and while the place is decorated really cute, it was super loud and hard to have a conversation at times. To be fair, we were there during a busy holiday weekend and it was crowded, but not sure I'll go back. read more

I have been wanting to visit Cafe Zocalo for lunch and finally got the chance today. I've had their pastries in the past and they are amazing. Today I tried the quesabirria and it was bomb! Great flavor and the green salsa was excellent. The service was prompt and they checked in a few times to make sure my drink was always full. We had our pregnancy announcement photos in the circle and decided to have Cafe Zocalo for a late breakfast. The food was absolutely amazing but the best part of it all was the friendly staff who congratulated us when they saw the newspaper prop in the booth. They brought us a warmed up cinnamon roll (which omg soooo soft) and said it was on them for the baby. Honestly, check it out. You won't be disappointed. read more

I was so excited to try this new place that I have passed by a couple of times specially because I've noticed that they serve Chilaquiles just to find out that I was gonna be so disappointed with their service . My son had asked for eggs with mini pancakes served with Nutella. Once the server brought the plate 1. it was cold . 2. They didn't bring the Nutella so I had to get up and go ask for the nutella once I asked the server his response was you were supposed to ask for it . I wasn't gonna argue so I just told him if he can just bring me Nutella . 3. They did not even came to check up on us not even once . I would've understand if they were super busy, but they had two tables and it seems like all the employees were just behind the counter talking to each other and just cleaning Definitely will not be coming here again read more

2 days after Christmas is probably not the best time to have lunch in Orange after visiting the Hilbert Museum, but Cafe Zocalo was a great choice! We had chips and salsa, chicken tacos, and a birria quesadilla. Chips were sizzling hot, and the salsa is amazing. I would go back just for the salsa. The chicken tacos were good, and the birria quesadilla was terrific. Service was good, despite the poor server being absolutely swamped. She earned her tips today! The table in the back had what I guess was their 20" mimosa, with a veritable octopus of straws coming out of it. Very festive, and they certainly seemed to enjoy it. Definitely recommend, will go back. read more

We visited this place twice after change of ownership per their sign outside and service continues to be slow as others mentioned. We sat outside and were basically ignored the whole time. We were greeted with our menus within 5 minutes arrival and were then ignored for 15+ minutes. I had to get up and ask for us to at least order our drinks. The waitress apologized and stated she got stuck in the back. It appears they are short staffed every time and do not have enough staff for busy days like a Sunday morning. It took forever to order, forever to get our food since they were busy and forever even to pay. Other than that, food is bland, no flavor. Not bad but definitely not the best. Red chilaquiles taste like chorizo flavored. On top of that, for every dish that has egg they charge a $0.50 per egg surcharge. Insane! read more

The cafe is pretty cute. There is seating inside and outside. I came here specifically for their cafe de olla and the coffee was pretty good. It's a little too much cinnamon for my taste, but overall a solid hot coffee. The horchata latte was a little watery, but you can definitely taste the horchata in the drink. But I do have to say the cookie was amazing! It's such a huge cookie with huge chocolate chunks. If you love chunky soft cookies, I would definitely recommend the chocolate chip cookie! The customer service here is also amazing! Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. Don't forget that there's a free horchata latte with a yelp check in! read more

All the other restaurants were busy so I came here. And I'm happy they were so I can come here today! I've had their chilaquiles which are delicious so I thought I'd give their breakfast panini a chance. I asked for spinach in it and it was amazing! Nicely balanced with everything. The best part is when I asked about the side of fruit they said they offered it with watermelon and orange. I personally dislike when places only give you melon/cantaloupe so these options were so much better! This place is a vibe and definitely has the latin aesthetic. I found this place just strolling by and I'm so glad I stepped inside. From the moment you enter you feel like you've just found a lil gem. Ambiance: The place has a friendly feel and atmosphere to it. I enjoyed the decor and murals, really feels like a nice family mexican restaurant. What I loved most was the cute decor here and the mimosas. They have paintings of different lotería cards and Selena downstairs and upstairs. The food was ok- it was a bit bland. We ordered the nachos with chicken and huevos rancheros. The mimosas flight comes with mango, pineapple, guava, and orange mimosas. Would love to come back to try their coffee and desserts. A mere 1.3 miles away, I find this eight year old coffee shop that has its name origins from the German word for bread. Evidently, they have a plethora of baked foods mainly consisting of flour, water and often yeast displayed in full display next to the counter. I asked one of the staff if the shop makes their own bread and she said a local artisan bakery supplies them. They look amazing and they even have gluten-free options! This is a family-owned business that provides a more than suitable area for working on your laptop with WiFi access, or simply enjoying your favorite hot or cold caffeinated beverage, oh, and I must mention that they have premium blends as well for the coffee aficionado! Spacious indoor area that doesn't feel cramped and the exposed ceiling vents, the jazzy beats that is playing at a perfect volume and plenty of potted plants give it a balanced chill industrial vibe. There are tables outside too that's perfect for early morning or late afternoon when it's not too hot. I ordered the Vanilla Latte hot and asked that they fill up my insulated mug instead of the cardboard cup. Even with the steady stream of patrons, I received my expertly prepared brew by their hirsute barista, who gave me "beard envy" (I can only sport a goatee) :D The crew are friendly, conversing with the regulars. One of the baristas accidentally dropped something, creating a loud noise, and she was visibly frustrated and seemed like she didn't wanna be there which affected the overall atmosphere.

Ordering with no ice shouldn't make the strawberry ingredient completely disappear. And both of them looked pretty unfriendly too. Also that matcha drink was too sweet and ended up throwing it away. Given that this cafe charges premium prices compared to others, I expect much better and more honest customer service.

After a few bites, he gave it a skeptical look, pushed the bowl away, and decided breakfast simply wasn't worth the gamble. The coffee was decent , but honestly wasn't worth fighting the neighbors for a parking spot!

Also tried the Brisket Pastrami Sandwich ($15.99) which was decent but nothing I'd particularly rave about. I'd stick with the breakfast burritos. Located near Lee's Sandwiches and a Mediterranean eatery. The parking lot does tend to fill up quickly, but there seemed to be a steady flow of people coming and going so finding a spot wasn't too difficult.

These are reasons why it didn't add up 1) empty seats inside but had a line since 3pm and beer was released at 4pm 2) I don't think the people going for younger would just order one beer and not try other RR beers? 3) only one guy working beer counter and having to clean the tables and make sandwiches? 4) 12 oz pours of beer and keg with about 1984 oz would make it 166 beers. No way they sold 166 beers in an hour with one person working the bar and shop empty in an hour. They could have posted on their instagram or socials that they sold out but failed to do so. I'm sure a lot of people all night were disappointed to see that they didn't have it or post anything about it.

Yep, food is good. However, I'd like to share with you a shocking experience at the Blue Frog on 8/3/08. Stevie, who is disabled has been going to the Blue Frog at least bi-weekly with his mom and dad for several years. You've probably seen Stevie around town in his wheelchair or riding in the trailer attached to his dad's bike. The owner of the Blue Frog told Stevie's mom not to bring Stevie to the Blue Frog anymore because he is "too noisey". The owner claims Stevie is causing her to lose customers. Stevie verbalizes slightly louder than most of us, but does not harm anyone or create unpleasantness in any way. Stevie frequents several other restaurants in the Circle, and is always greeted warmly. It is sad to see there are still people who DISCRIMINATE against the disabled such as the BLUE FROG has done. Not only is this illegal under ADA (Americans Disability Act), it is cruel to this young patron. read more

Not disabled friendly. Was asked to not come inside restaurant with our son because he is too noisy. He can only communicate by making a uh uh type noise and we were asked to not come in restaurant anymore because he uh's are too loud. We were told we can sit on patio, and when I asked what if no seating available was told sorry you will have to take your business elsewhere. So we have and we have been welcomed at every restaurant in Orange with our son. Please don't patronize this business in honor of the disabled who can't communicate for themselves. read more

Great place for lunch! Get the chicken or turkey sandwich on ciabatta--one of the best sandwiches I've had, anywhere! Plus, go with someone. Because a full sandwich is just too big--and I'm 6' 1" and 200lbs. So I can bring an appetite. Note: I suggest swapping out the mayo for dijon mustard, but that's a personal preference. :-) Lastly: The sandwich comes with a nice little cookie and fresh fruit for desert. And amazingly, the fruit is always sweet and juicy--not the cheap and bitter honeydew melon chunks that most restaurants serve. Top notch! read more

What a quaint cafe with just the right menu and preparation for breakfast or lunch meeting. Pastry is always a plus and presents its own reason to visit this cafe. With an older era atmosphere, and just a block form the Orange Circle, this is definitely worth visiting with a casual stroll and window shopping after your visit to the Blue Frog. Its easy to understand how this cafe is a favorite among locals and now is one of mine, too. read more

I just love Blue Frog. Out of all of the places in the Circle, this one is top five. The food is pretty inexpensive and the portions are generous. It is a sandwich/salad type of place. I just love the potato salad you get with the sandwiches. The staff is usually very friendly. The only downer is that some days in the summer time it is so hot inside. This is one of my favorite breakfast spots at the circle in Orange. There are other great ones but when those lines are long and you're hungry Blue Frog is the way to go. After a pleasant conversation and speedy cooking time, the man helping us offered my dad a second snapple because he had finished his first. My dad LOVES raspberry snapple but can never find any. He told this to the guy that was working, and him giving my father a second one made his day. Definetly recommend eating here! The service is so kind and the food is AMAZING!!

All the sears were outside and weather was perfect that day. I went to order a BLT my mom and I can split. That's what she wanted. However the owner Julian told me the best seller was the chicken pesto panini. He's friendly as he explains how many love it. So I changed it and hoped my mom wasn't disappointed. She wasn't. It was food and perfect with the salad and kettle chips. I throughly enjoyed the service and food. I went back to get a chocolate chip cookie and they ran out. However Julian was kind enough to give me a small scoop of gelato on them because of it. This is a great family owned business with great food and service.

The weather was really nice so we chose to sit in their back patio where they gave a handful of tables that are surrounded by so many mature trees and plants! I'd highly recommend sitting out there if the weather permits! So you order at the counter and your food is brought out to you when it's ready. I ordered the Caprese Bagel sandwich with a side of chicken sausage and a cofffee. The sandwich was satisfying and the coffee was great. I'm not sure if they usually come around to refill coffee or if you have to go up to the counter for refills, but no one came around outside offering any. I really would have enjoyed a second (and maybe even third) cup. Overall it is a cute spot, serving good food and coffee. Next time my pups get groomed I'll come back to Cyrano's while I wait for them to finish being pampered.

I got a steak and eggs, and honestly the steak was awful. I've never eaten such a dry piece of meat, it was reminiscent of what people feed their dogs for their birthday. It was supposed to be medium rare, but it was definitely well done and a low quality cut of meat. The fruit was good, sweet and in season. Bread was tightly toasted and buttered but they gave me the wrong type - it took 50+ minutes to get the food so I didn't bother telling them. The eggs were cooked well, I enjoyed them with some salt and pepper. The cashier came up to us at around 45 minutes after ordering and asked us how we wanted our eggs cooked because she hadn't asked at the beginning, and my friend and I were surprised that they hadn't started until then. Overall I don't think I plan on coming back any time soon. It's pretty close to Peter's Canyon which is a great option for a post-hike meal, but there are definitely other restaurants nearby that have better service and food.
