I visited during a weekday and noticed there was plenty of table space and a variety of different patrons from young to old. I'm a sucker for latte art so I generally like to dine in when I can. It was also pride month so I decided to get a slice of their rainbow cake. The cake was a hearty portion so they proactively asked if I wanted a takeout box and bag which I gratefully accepted. Parking is pretty easy. When they were less busy I was able to go up to the counter and ask about their other drinks. I am quite literally at CAFEIN almost every day. I am a regular at Chantilly location. My partner is a regular at Centreville location. Most workers know both of us separately. I want to start off by saying CAFEIN has hands down the BEST coffee in all of DMV. Nothing compares. I can tell when a business is using CAFEIN beans. That's how good and unique and high quality it is, there is a reason I'm there every day, and MOST workers are sweet, kind, and amazing. Truly. Every interaction has been nothing short of top tier customer service EXCEPT for one singular person who has repeatedly been rude. At this point CAFEIN needs to step in and discuss this persons behavior and if they want to be associated and represented in this way. I think this person is a manager at the Chantilly location. She is an Asian female, and unfortunately she has made a terrible reputation for herself as being the rude worker here, trust me she's known for that for anybody who goes to This location. Firstly I don't understand the 3pm closing time, but second if a business says 3pm closing time, that doesn't mean 2:55pm. That means you TAKE ORDERS TILL 3pm. That's how all businesses work. If your hours are REALLY till 2:45pm then set your business hours officially to that time. This woman has repeatedly rudely spoken to customers, including myself to get them out of the store as it nears 3pm. She comes around and interrupts conversations to make sure they know when to leave. She doesn't take orders sometimes when it's nearing 3pm. She shuts off online orders too, to avoid anybody coming in before closing. She isn't nice about it either, she's rude in how she speaks to customers. Today I walk in, a small family with one child walks in front of me, and at 2:58pm (I know it was end of day and that's my bad) but she immediately says WE CLOSE AT 3PM, and turns everybody away. The small child says but it's not 3! And frowns as we all walk out. I look forward to my coffee as one of the best parts of my day and truly think CAFEIN is amazing but this one manager is just so rude. Just change your hours if you don't actually take orders before 3pm, if you don't plan on getting rid of this rude woman. Everybody at Centreville location is so nice to my partner he is met with being treated with familiarity and inclusivity as somebody who's a regular. He was on the phone with me when I walked in today & was shocked they turned me away before 3. This was not the first time btw there was one or two times in the past I had even called in & said hey I placed a pickup order and my eta was 3pm on the dot and I have pulled up & had the door locked on me or still been met with WE ARE CLOSED rudely by solely only her. I came here to spend some time with my friend who was transferring a flight at IAD. The cafe is spacious and clean. There were a great selection of drink menus as well as nice lunch/brunch items. I got a fresh mozzarella on cibatta. This sandwich was packed with fresh veggies, avocado, and mozzarella and seasoned with flavorful basil pesto. It was honestly really good so I highly recommend it. The coffee was also nicely prepared and tasty. The staff here was all friendly and welcoming. Several bagel choices to pick from and you can make modifications to it. The young lady who took my order was extremely nice and quick on her feet. I try not to hold any expectations for coffee shops to give them all an honest try, but their Cream Coffee was amazing! It's cold brew topped with sweet almond cream and the flavor was very consistent. Usually, cold brews I try will initially taste concentrated then watered down, but this was not so. The barista recommended I taste it directly from the cup--no lid--to taste the cream foam on top and slowly intake the coffee and it tasted very flavorful. Not too sweet, and a very full-bodied coffee taste. It was the perfect complement to the cream top. The service was also insanely quick. I ordered and received this coffee almost instantly--like under 30 seconds had passed and it was perfectly created (I wish I had taken a picture). I wish I came here for more than just coffee because a huge reason why Cafein is well known and liked is for their breakfast and pastries. I am usually a straight up black coffee or macchiato kind of person, but I wanted to give their honey cinnamon latte a try since it's one of their signatures. Seems like they use beans from Coava (local roaster from Portland, OR!) here which piqued my interest since I like them! With oat milk, a 12 oz. latte is $6 (pre-tax). I taste mainly the creaminess of the oat milk with a strong honey flavor. The cinnamon is a bit muted (more of an after taste) but overall the drink was enjoyable and pleasant. I don't taste much of the espresso though. As the latte cooled down, it started tasting a bit sour/more acidic (not in a bad way). Overall, the latte was not for me and I'll probably get something else next time (like the cold brew or macchiato). Pretty latte art that integrated the specks of cinnamon! I want to give this cafe another try. Next time, I'll definitely come back and order one of their signature breakfast options, breakfast sandwiches, and/or pastries! Love this place! I was in town for work for 3 days and came in every morning for a drink and a breakfast sandwich. The people are friendly, service is quick and food is high quality. For drinks, I tried the hot pumpkin cinnamon latte (fall special), the hot honey cinnamon latte and the hot green tea (I forgot the mane but it had green and peppermint tea). All were amazing. The pumpkin was very lightly flavored, not overwhelming like chain places do. The honey cinnamon was spot on. My coworker for the iced version and loved it too! The hot tea was also perfect. As for breakfast sandwiches, I tried the smoked salmon on an everything bagel and an egg/cheese/turkey bacon on a regular bagel. Hands down, the smoked salmon was my favorite (got that on my 3rd trip again because i liked it so much). The turkey bacon sandwich wasn't bad, and they are a really good size for the price.
