The service and atmosphere were great. It is a fun and lively place. It was not too loud where we were seated and we were still able to hear each other and have a normal enjoyable conversation. The seating around rectangular table made it easy for the the whole group to talk to each other. Our server was Autumn and she took great care was us. Some of our guests arrived later than others so kudos to Autumn for accommodating all of us and taking our orders and getting drinks and food out on time. The whipped ricotta appetizer was great and so were the meatballs. The chicken schnitzel was really good and the dessert treat was such a fun surprise. It came with the sparklers and was delicious. We had a reservation at 8pm and they let us know that the tables taking a little bit longer than anticipated and asked us to step to the lounge by the hotel lobby so they can get us when the tables set up. They forgot about us and around 8:20 we had to ask the host and they went to seat us to our table. The waitress took our drinks and pretty sure she forgot about us because she asked what entree we wanted around 9:30 which I think is insane. A girl in our group ended up not even being able to order because she had to catch a flight. I think they should either hire more servers or remove some tables because I don't think they can handle all the volume. The food was okay but the red leaf lettuce was so bitter that it was pretty much inedible. If you are planning to book Cala, I would make sure you don't plan any activities after because you will be here for a long time. read more

Get ready to ask for water 3 times in 100 degree weather and not receive it until the 4th, while still being charged a 20% automatic gratuity for a "large party" when you're a party of 3. Based on what I saw on their website, this felt inconsistent, so I'd recommend double checking their policy. The only redeeming quality is the atmosphere and decor. This wasn't my first choice for brunch, but I went for a friend's birthday to try Cala. My food was soggy and tasteless, and the service was very slow. Regarding the buffet, it wasn't restocked much during our visit. Around 1:30pm, I was only able to get one strawberry on a stick, and no additional fruit came out for another 30 minutes. The food and drink service was amazing. Our group reserved a set menu experience, and the champagne and appetizers arrived at our table shortly after we were seated. Definitely recommend the whipped ricotta. I didn't love the fried cheese...maybe if I had eaten a bite the moment it was delivered, but after that I thought it was too salty and dense as it cooled. Not very good. Went to brunch for their brunch experience, which was alluring because it is $55. It took almost 30 minutes after being seated to put our orders in. Let me say, do not come here if you're not into loud restaurants. The music is extremely loud, causing everyone there to have to basically yell to hear eachother. The waitress was nice, but it took a little while to be able to even start our brunch. When we went to the counter for the "buffet portion", it was underwhelming. Old warm fruit and sweating cheese that has probably been sitting a bit. The espresso martini my friend got wasn't great, but I did like my Hugo spritz. When our apps came we were surprised by the veggie skewers; shriveled up pieces of veggies and pineapple. The beef kofta wasn't very great. My friend did enjoy her scallops, which had a pretty presentation. When we received our entrees we were also disappointed. I got the vodka pasta. There was no flavor and I had multiple pastas full of pasta water that shot into my mouth when I bit them. My friend got the French toast. I had a good time here for brunch the other day! My friend and I had a reservation on Saturday around 1030a. This place is located inside the Senna House Hotel, and free street parking is available or valet. The decor at this place is beautiful and very relaxed with lots of greenery! Definitely Mediterranean! Lexy took great care of us and even helped re-seat us in a warmer area of the restaurant. For drinks we decided to try the mocktails and ordered the Chai Thai and some kind of citrus drink. They were both nice, but I think I preferred the citrus one. For food we ordered the Mediterranean Mezze Platter, which was absolutely incredible, and the egg white and avocado shakshuka which was also delicious! The flavors of the Mezze platter were so delicious, I especially enjoyed the white bean hummus. I would definitely come back here and try their dinner menu. This was definitely THE bachelorette dinner hot spot! We went as a group of 11 for a bachelorette party that we pre booked a month or two in advance. It made it really easy to pre plan the meals so we wouldn't have to deal with ordering, separate checks, and trying multiple things. We ordered the: Whipped Ricotta Roasted Cauliflower Ahi Tuna Tartare Lumache alla Vodka Faroe Island Salmon Moroccan Chicken It was a great variation and all had great presentation and flavor. They were also very accommodating to on of our friend's serious dairy allergy. In which they provided some of the dishes as non dairy. But we were also very persistent on checking. We added the Blushing Bride package which including a welcome cocktail, a customized title on the menu, and a champagne toast. It was really cute to see the customization on the menu and the welcome cocktail. They were accommodating for my pregnant sister-in-law in providing a mocktail. Given we needed to reach a minimum within a two hour time slot, we were told to order more cocktails, food, or even a bottle of wine to take home. I guess since we weren't reaching our minimum when getting closer to 2 hours so they brought out a platter of shots with sparklers. And then later brought ice cream with sparklers. We didn't ask for them but we thought it was fine since everyone was already ordering cocktails and we didn't want anymore food. The restaurant had a cute earthy vibe with light colored decor. It had a nice open patio section that made the restaurant feel open throughout. The restaurant itself is attached to a hotel. The place was PACKED and full of other bachelorette parties. So I can now understand why this place popped up when i was doing research for bachelorette parties. It is also closely located to the main bars. So we could save a little money by walking. My only issues were that the music made it really hard to hear/talk. And the final charge on my receipt is a slightly different total than what is showing up in my bank statement. First time visiting Cala for my husband's birthday last night, and we were really excited to try it. The atmosphere is beautiful, our drinks were excellent, and we ordered three appetizers that were all genuinely good. Our server, Manny, was fantastic--attentive, kind, and did his best to make the experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, things fell short with the main course. My husband ordered the NY strip and didn't enjoy it. We normally wouldn't say anything, but since it was a special occasion, we let the manager know. He ended up trying a bite of our friend's lamb dish and liked it, so we swapped his entrée for that. To be clear, he only had a few bites of the NY strip before it was taken away. When the replacement lamb dish came out, it was noticeably much saltier than the one our friend had. We let Manny know (again, apologizing because we really aren't the type to complain), and while they did offer to bring something else, by that point my husband was over it and didn't want another replacement. He only had a few bites of the lamb as well before it was taken from the table. We declined dessert, but Manny kindly brought out two desserts anyway, which we appreciated. What was disappointing, though, was how the situation was handled overall. The manager was only willing to take 50% off the entrée. We didn't argue, but it honestly felt like a missed opportunity to make things right--especially for a birthday dinner and at a restaurant of this caliber. A gesture like removing the dish entirely would have gone a long way and likely brought us back. Because of the great service and solid start to the meal, I'm giving 3 stars. Love the overall look but it's quite loud, and some of the seating isn't all that practical. Some of the tables have couches that kept moving when people sat down. But I cared more about the noise level! Just a notch down on volume would have been great. The cocktail menu has a lot of options that look good. I had the spicy mango margarita and it's fantastic. Great spice and a really fresh mango nectar. It was the perfect amount of not too sweet. We had the grilled prawns and they were really good. REALLY good. We also had the hummus, which comes with a soft flatbread. This is good but needs something like tomatos and olives and onions. We did add veggies on the side. We then had a walnut pasta and the breakfast burrito. The pasta was OK, not great, but the burrito was a travesty. It was almost all potato! It was supposed to be green chili pork but the only meat was the not-tasty bits around it. For $20++ this was ridiculous. I am very disappointed in Cala. We went there to celebrate my younger cousin's 21st birthday before taking her out to the bars. When we got there, we had no option but to valet our car because there was no parking available. Little did we know that the valet cost $20 and was NOT comped by the restaurant. We had a reservation and were seated outside at a very small table for our party underneath misters that were way too strong. Everything was humid from the misters and it ruined our hair and made it hard to focus on a conversation. We asked to move tables or turn off the misters, as the sun had gone down and it wasn't even hot anymore, but they declined both of these requests, so we were stuck underneath the humid jungle mess. We ordered drinks and it took them forever to arrive. Drinks were ok- but wayyyy overpriced. Our food also took a long time to arrive. Portions were SO SMALL and the food was mid at best. I got the vodka pasta and I have made better pasta at home. It was small, and just ok. The prices for these very mid entrees were ridiculous. And then came time for the bill. They charged us for 3 extra drinks that we did not order and on top of that forced us to pay a service charge for using a credit card instead of cash?? Who does that in the year 2026??? Overall, extremely disappointing food and service, and wayyyy overpriced. The audacity of this restaurant. Cala was absolutely gorgeous, and the vibes transported us to a beach club in Greece or Cabo. We started with the flaming saganaki, which was sizzling salty cheese, slices of focaccia and a fire show. The mez-cala mezcal cocktail was fruit & smokey. Drinks are a little pricey here, averaging between $18-20. For dinner, we shared the braised lamb shank and broccolini. The lamb was FANTASTIC, and it literally fell off the bone. We're in our late 20s and definitely enjoy a lively atmosphere, but the volume felt more like a nightclub than a Thursday dinner at 6 p.m. We ended up asking to be moved outside because we couldn't hear each other, but even out there it was still very loud. Edit: Ariana, one of the managers, reached out to me to review the events of the evening and genuinely cared about her customers and the restaurant. I love the accountability that she took and the genuine apology for our less than great experience. I can tell they are going to work to improve this, based on the response. High hopes for this business. The service: We booked an event reservation for 10 people, and put down a $250 deposit. The reservation was for 9pm, so we showed up around 8:50. They told us the table wasn't ready and to check back at 9. When we did, we were met with attitude from the hostesses and told the table still wasn't ready, but to wait for them to text me before coming back to the host stand. They made us wait 24 minutes after our reservation time before texting me that our table was ready. Off to a great start. Once seated, our sweet server, Aundrea, helped get us situated, and brought out waters for everyone. I bought a $250 add on package that includes a signature cocktail. When I mentioned the cocktail from the package, the server said it was a mini cocktail. I clarified that I paid for the celebration package, and that it should be full size. She said she would double check on that for me. After coming back, she said the manager said they would allow them to be full size as a thank you for us being patient and having to wait. Excuse me?? No. The manager should "allow" them to be full size because that's what I paid for. OR update the pamphlet you sent me when I was organizing my event. You weren't doing me any favors or hooking me up as a thank you. Educate yourselves on your own menu, or come out and talk to our table yourself. A little face time feels personal and goes a long way. For that I don't blame the server - she's just a middle man. They did bring out a tray with shots for us at the end- but we watched them do that for every table that was a bachelorette party (at least 3 others while we were there) We are thankful, but I just want to make sure they don't come on here and pretend that was their apology for being so far behind when they took so much of our money. One of our girls is left handed, and accidentally knocked over someone else's drink, and our server graciously replaced the drink for her and brought out extra napkins. The food: The only good thing was the whipped ricotta appetizer. The pasta was okay, but bland and not flavorful. It needed more salt and still tasted vague. The chicken was drier than the desert. The broccolini was under cooked. The salmon still had some bones in it, and everything on the plate tasted the exact same. It was very peppery - like the vegetable not the spice. The "seasonal desert" was a vanilla cake, that was worse than the chicken in terms of dryness. It was as though it had been sitting out all week. And the whipped cream on top was gritty and chalky. Some of the fruit on top was even overripe and squishy. The whole thing was awful. The facility: The building itself was okay, the ambience was decent, but the bar was overcrowded and the bathrooms were disgusting. We chose Cala for our Mother's Day brunch, and unfortunately, it was the worst dining experience any of us in our party of five have ever had. The service was incredibly slow from start to finish. We waited over 20 minutes just to be seated, and once seated, the wait for our food was extremely long. To make matters worse, we were only informed after placing our order that there was a $55 per person minimum charge -- for brunch. This information should absolutely have been communicated by the hostess or server beforehand so guests could make an informed decision before ordering. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was the way our waitress repeatedly reminded us that we were still "$100 under" the minimum. Being told this multiple times throughout the meal felt tactless and unprofessional. The atmosphere also felt completely off for a Mother's Day brunch. Loud club-style music created an environment that felt more suited for late-night nightlife than a family holiday meal. There were also an inordinate amount of flies circling our table. By the end, we simply wanted to leave. We ordered one entrée to go just to meet the minimum and then waited another 30-40 minutes for that item alone. When we got there, we were told that seating was running behind. Reservation was at 7:15 and we were seated around 7:40. We ordered a couple of apps to share (scallop crudo and hummus). The scallop crudo was probably our favorite dish of the evening. The balance of sweet and spicy was really nice! Hummus was good but not the best ever, especially for the price. For entrees, I got the bacon wrapped filet mignon which was a special for Christmas. My friends shared a fish dish and new york strip. Our entrees ran super behind and we got them around 9:30. I could forgive the late entree if our food was cooked to order but unfortunately it wasn't. The inside of my filet was uneven - one side well, other side was a medium - and I ordered medium rare. There was one prawn on it and it sat on some truffle mashed potatoes. For a $95 dish I definitely was disappointed. Overall, our server was friendly and very apologetic for the delays, ambiance was nice, and the concept seemed good... I'm not satisfied with your tables, and then miraculously she decides to seat us in a nice four top table in the edge of the dining room leading to the patio. Why? Cala management, train your staff please. Bad start to the night. But we let it go. Ambiance: Restaurant is beautiful. It's part of hotel Senna. There's a bar, dining room & outdoor patio. On to the food and what we had: 1. Tuna tartare - delicious & refreshing 2. Meatballs - yummy! The combo of polenta to the meatballs was divine. One of the standouts of the meal. 3. My review is based on a dinner reservation approximately two weeks prior to this review. First, the restaurant is a nicely decorated indoor/outdoor restaurant with a separate outdoor sports bar type tv area. We were seated outdoors which we were first a little confused as it was a little chilly and the restaurant was basically empty, however, we later appreciated. We had 6:30 reservations and were quickly seated. Upon seating, our server Jordan took our drink order and we were quickly served. Jordan was amazing. She was pleasant, efficient & knowledgeable. We ordered two dirty martinis. One vodka and one gin. I am a martini person. I feel $26 each is a bit overpriced for an average martini. Just my opinion. The burrata, beet appetizer. The burrata was cold, hard, and unfortunately not creamy at all like burrata should be.. we love burrata so we're were disappointed in the burrata. Loud club music at 7pm? I made a reservation for 4 in advance and when we arrived we waited a couple of minutes before the hostess brought us out to the patio, once we arrived at the patio she apologized and said the table had not been cleared like she had thought so she asked us to take a seat at the bar while it is cleared (no problem..) once our table is ready she leads us over and we sit for about 5 minutes before she comes back and tells us she needs us to move! She points over to a table that is not in as good of a location because it's on the corner right next to the street and in full sun. She explained it was a system error and they had a 12 top coming and really needed us to move, so I asked if they had anything inside. Weird seating situation when we had a reservation - they took us to a hot sunny place when there were spots inside more comfortable. We were eventually move to a bar area high top. Service was great from then on. Cocktail choices & flavors were great, especially Mango Chili Marg. Whipped feta app was too small for 4, we asked for more bread but it didn't come until we were getting ready to leave, but good. Swordfish was good with best part being the sauce and veg. Roasted cauliflower dish was good but I think they forgot the almonds or perhaps creamed in. Rigatoni was good. We decided to give Cala a try on a midweek afternoon. Located inside the Senna House Hotel, this eatery is such a vibe with its modern upscale roots & Mediterranean flare entreès. Large dining tables make it a great spot for big parties. We started off with the Flaming Saganaki- which was by far my favorite thing I ate here. A small brick of kasseri cheese is elegantly torched & gives off a beautiful show of flames. Served with house made focaccia, this appetizer is an absolute must! Not only is it pretty, but tastes so good too! I opted for the Paccheri Alla Salsiccia for my main entrée. A large pillow shaped pasta served with sausage & broccoli in a creamy Alfredo like sauce. The dish itself did not offer much flavor, and I felt the empty pasta should've been filled with a cheese or something! It was certainly missing that good filling you just bite into where it melts in your mouth. Although it fell short in taste, it definitely has potential! I also opted for the Mango Chilè Margarita which was excellent! Adorned with a dried up lime & a Tajín rim, this drink was a 10/10! Service was good our waiter was kind & did what he needed to do. It was good.... I'm sure you are paying mostly for the vibes! My baby daughter picked this place as she wanted a girls night out for Valentines. We made reservations several days prior and arrived early however there was still a bit of a wait. My youngest and I ordered the lamb shank, my oldest ordered pizza and we had hummus and feta muss for the table. The lamb shank was well seasoned and super tinder and it was a very nice size portion to me the pizza was a wired combination and kinda soft but my daughter said she liked it so that's all that mattered. The hummus was simple but flavorful and the bread was really good as well. To begin, the food was absolutely delicious! I had the Alla Vodka pasta and the sauce was rich, well seasoned, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The Wagyu Rigatoni was also delicious and I would order this again next time. However, as much as I would have enjoyed my experience here, the service was something left to be desired. Brooke L was our server and she was great to start-- very attentive, friendly, and welcoming. However, she disappeared and barely checked up on our table. As a party of more than 6, there is an automatic 20% gratuity added to the check and one would expect great service if this is the case. Our experience on the other hand did not meet this expectation. We had numerous dirty plates on the table (that sat there during our entire dinner), she only came by twice to our table to refill waters, she was not attentive to our simple needs, and walked by our table multiple times without engaging. It is typically considered rude to explicitly try to get a server's attention at a restaurant and for such a busy restaurant, this is the last thing I would want to do to cause stress on the customer service team. However, we finally felt the need to finally flag our server Brooke down just to get our checks because waiting 15+ minutes for our server to come to our table is ridiculous. For a place that is known for providing exceptional group experiences, the server did not meet the expectation that this establishment tries to accomplish. One star is purely for consistent issues the whole night mainly service related; however, food is just mid and overpriced to me. Came here with a reservation for a birthday dinner for 6. Really liked the atmosphere, and we were sat down outside which was super nice. The issues started with our drink orders. Some of my table had ordered espresso martinis with vodka as the menu states choose vodka or tequila. However, they came back with tequila versions twice before we got ones with vodka in them. In between this whole time they never brought out another member's drink - and we had to reorder their drink after the martini situation was handled as they just forgot. Past that we got our food which was ok to me. I had the bucatini and was very disappointed in the flavors as it was a wagyu beef bucatini bolognese, but tasted like spaghetti I made at home. Only thing that stuck out was pasta cooked al dente. The vodka pasta on the other hand was pretty good could taste a rich vodka sauce. Lastly the dessert. We had brought in a custom cake and called them beforehand as a surprise for our friend. We brought it up to the waitress that it was the pink cake from X bakery after we were done eating. She comes back 5 minutes later with not our cake! So we had to explain and they eventually came back with our cake. After this the waitress asked if they would like another martini. My friend said yes, and lo and behold they came out with the tequila one again and not the vodka which was comical. They did comp two of the martinis which I'm glad but still shouldn't have even gotten to that point. On top of that when the bill came out they charged us a cake fee (the cake they incorrectly brought out) which we had to bring up again and ask why were we charged that and get it taken off. Someone please tell me why there is also A CREDIT CARD SURCHARGE FEE (3%?!?!?). Makes no sense that I am being charged a credit card surcharge. If it was one thing like the drinks were mixed up once then that's ok. Mistakes happen, but the fact it just happened over and over and more stuff happened on top of it is just silly to me. Food wasn't even that good. Drinks were pretty good. I do not plan on coming here again, but even if the service was good - I just think it's overpriced and mediocre. read more
