My insurance recommended me to go to caliber collision to fix my car. I had been in head on collision. My fender and front bumper had damage. It was very dangerous to drive at night. My driver side headlight was illuminating the ground. When I arrived at caliber, Itzia greeted me with a smile. She was very genuine and took very good care of me. My Tahoe got a hit and run I called my Geico insurance they guided me through the process and told me to go to caliber collision. When I arrived I went into the office the ladies in the front help me out and a gentleman named Eddie. He went through the whole process of how it was going to be fixed.Took about A week to get my Tahoe back, but through all this process they would sent me messages when the truck was getting service and kept me updated about everything. Eddie also called me to inform me my battery was no good no more when I picked up my truck he informed me they Exchanged my battery for me no charge! thank you so much!!! Holy wow! The Hillcap team members are just amazing as the service they provide! Going in to service your car is never a fun errand plus so stressful trying to juggle your life once your car is in the shop. The office staff is hilarious and a tight group, you can tell by the way they support each other so naturally. My service advisor, Itzia was so very kind and considerate, kept me updated with every move the shop made and was available to speak with me over the phone to answer all of my questions (I had a lot), and even kept the A.C. on for me once my car was ready. As for my car, I hardly recognized her! Better looking then when I first bought her: the tires were spic and span, the windows crystal clear. I brought my Benz E320 into Caliber Collision because they were one of the companies my insurance company approved for handling their claims. I was confident that Caliber would efficiently handle my damage claim, but I didn't realize how efficient they would actually be. When Salvador did his visual inspection, he noted the deep scratches I found near the tire well on the left passenger side of the car and a slight scratch near the door. He noted everything in his report, which he said would take about a week to repair. He made arrangements for the car rental to pick me up and we had a very nice Audi SUV rental car to drive while our car was in the shop. On Friday, Salvador called me to let me know that the work was completed on my car and that they were having it detailed. He asked me if I could pick it up on Saturday and he told me I could drop off the rental car at Caliber and that he would make arrangements with the rental car company to come pick up the car. I dropped of the rental car, paid my deductible, and when Salvador showed me the car, I could tell that the scratches had been removed and that everything had been painted and coated (he even remembered the scratch near the door). They even took the time to clean and detail it so it almost looked like a new car (even though it was from 2003). Caliber really takes the time and care to make sure that your car is repaired and the work was done right. I highly recommend their work. read more

Got in an accident with a UHaul Truck. I tell you this was not an easy process. As UHaul offers it's renters insurance that is not really insurance but a company that just stands up in there behalf. So complaints to State Insurance Division doesn't help. However I chose Caliber for the repairs regardless. 1 they put OEM parts on my car. And 2 they are such a large company with such a big name behind them I can trust them with my car. Dan and his team at the Caliber off Hilcap truly restored the rhythm of my life. It took a little longer than we all expected because the company was not communicating with Caliber but I assure you they did all the leg work and constant follow up. So I did not have to worry and I knew my car was taken care of. They also kept me in the loop of what was happening every step of the way. Finally I get my car back and it's 200% better than I thought it would be. I drove off went on a little road trip and people where saying how do you like your new car, or this car looks brand new. I unfortunately had a recent break in that resulted in a lot of interior damages to my car. I took my car to a glass repair shop and thought myself and the shop had caught all the damages, but Radni from calliber collision was able to see the little stuff I wasn't able to notice. He has a sharp eye and took notes of all the little stuff that should've been fixed by the glass repair shop and made sure it was taken care of. I also had a great experience with Eddie. Unfortunately, my Geico adjuster didn't want to do her job so it was almost impossible to get a response from her regarding my rental, reimbursement, etc. Eddie stepped up and basically did her job by reaching out to his other contacts in Geico to almost go around her. The crazy thing is I never once asked him to do me this favor since its not his job, I had just mentioned it when we were on the phone. My car looks good as new thanks to these guys. The circumstances that normally find one in need of a collision center are never that pleasant to deal with and recently we've made two visits to the Caliber Collision on Hillcap Ave in San Jose for completely unrelated incidents. Visit #1 was based on a referral from my in-laws and the preferred center used by our insurance company. Fortunately for me, our claim was managed by Nema. From start to finish, Nema provided top-notch customer service, no - strike that... customer "CARE". His knowledge, explanations and overall demeanor made an otherwise unpleasant situation quite bearable. Little did Nema know that his expertise would make him my go to guy, so when we again found ourselves in need... Naturally, I called Nema. Not only did I call him, but I called to ask for a same day appointment not at all expecting to get in. In the same fashion however, Nema fit us in and continues to handle this claim with white-glove treatment. One final thought - It was only recently that I learned that Caliber Collision is a huge nationwide company with hundreds (if not 1000+) centers across the country. I would have never guessed this based on the "Mom & Pop" type attention I received from Nema and all others in the Hillcap Ave location. Was not happy at all with this place. Made an appointment to get an estimate on my car when I got there the guy took pictures and information on the car and said give him 15 minutes to write up an estimate, 45 minutes goes by and the receptionist tells me that it was going to take him until the afternoon to get the estimate for me and they will just email it to me. It's 3 pm and still no email called them and they said they will look into it. No call or email back from them the whole day. Was a total waste of my day!!! read more

Really wish I could give this place zero stars. Completely unprofessional and disorganized. "Accidentally" broke our windshield while painting. Took over a week longer then expected, didn't call us with any updates we had to track them down and hound them every step of the way. Quoted us one price and jacked it up when we went to pick up the car. Told us to come in for pickup and then said no one was there to sign paperwork and we couldn't have our car for another three days. Later that evening I was showing my neighbors the great repair job when my dog jumped on the bumper and made 2 scratches on my new paint job. A few months later someone hit my right mirror in such a way that it rubbed against the front quarter panel when opening the door. I again went to Caliber Collision to find out the cost to fix my mirror. To my pleasant surprise, Nema adjusted my mirror so my door would open without the rubbing sound and touched up the 2 scratches from my dog and did not charge for work performed. had a really great experience here. my car was hit by a drunk driver and had a huge dent in the front door. I took it to caliber, got an estimate quickly and they explained everything. I got scheduled to drop off my car and dropped it at the appointed time. I was supposed to get picked up by my rental company, but after an hr waiting, caliber offered to drop me. all of the staff were really friendly and the customer service was excellent. they dealt with the insurance and left me out of it, which I appreciated. I would highly recommend caliber for any services and although, I'm hoping I don't have to come back, I definitely will if needed. read more

Caliber Collision is where I take my car for auto body repair since I have AAA Insurance. I came here 3 times before and was so happy with their work. I was disappointed when I couldn't leave my car there after the accident to get an estimate. AAA told me to download AAA app to take pictures of my car. The app is faulty. So I made an appointment, two weeks waiting for an estimate and Caliber took pictures for AAA. Caliber took care of the paperwork with AAA. Another week of waiting to bring in the car. Ten days later, my car was ready for pickup. Caliber did a fantastic job, just like new. The people at Caliber are nice and friendly. They washed the whole car and put on tire shine. I have had previous experience with this company and location, the service was great. Six months later, it was a disaster. Do not believe a word they say. There was no communication from Melissa, and I mean no communication. We had to go down to the facility to see what was happening. Speaking with the manager, Abel, about the lack of communication, he said the car was ready but since they did not work with the insurance much, it was being held for paperwork. All this while we watch the car being driven back into the shop to be put together. To be lied to and told it was the insurance was beyond poor service. When we called him on lying he admitted to it and walked away, no apology, no explanation. Two days the car was there just waiting for the hour to put it back together. Last week my car was rear ended, after talking to the insurance people for the other driver, I was recommended to caliber collision. I called on Wednesday January 22, 2020 to schedule a drop off time and I spoke with a very nice lady who said that I would need to email my insurance estimate before she would schedule my appointment. I sent the email with the estimate and my phone number as we were still on the phone but she said she would need to call me back to schedule the appointment. No call back. Thursday no call. I called again Friday and explained that I emailed the estimate and want to schedule a drop off time. They put me on hold for a very long time and I had no choice but to just hang up. Still no call back. I'm so confused as to why I couldn't even make an appointment. I felt like we had a very pleasant phone conversation and I sent the email of my estimate just as she asked. So my sons 2008 Arcadia was hit by a DUI driver at 0200 and the car was pushed into my truck. His vehicle is being repaired already but when I called to schedule a inspection they told me that they could do it but that they couldn't repair it? What????? So I have been repairing vehicle's for over thirty years both mechanical/body/electrical. from a 67 Nova to my Camry and Lexus so to say I have experience is a understatement and the only problem with my truck is the rear bumper ONLY. The brackets are good, The hardware is good, the electrical is good. Once again the only issue is a chrome bumper that needs to be pulled off and replaced. The mounting holes have not been elongated in any way. Now about my truck. It is a 97 Chevy 3500 Crew cab Dually so the frame did not move. The bumper did the job and took the impact. Oh did I say that the vehicles were parked at 0200 in the morn.... I had used them before when my wife's Camry was rear ended. They fixed that with no problem but I had one request. On the R/R door it was hit (from a thrown rock) and had a ding ( about and inch or so) and missing paint. I had asked about it getting repaired since it was in the shop and they had the correct paint code and I would come out of the pocket for that repair. Sure no problem except they didn't bother? I bought it up and they said they don't remember even though it was on the work order. Sure bring it back because were swamped.... So now I would have to rent a car and pay even more to fix.... Not happening. I will not go back to this place again or I should say It would have to be a heck of a deal to get me to go back. read more

I would give this place a 0 star review if I could. I brought my 2012 Toyota Camry to them because of some road tar on the freeway that flung up on the paint. I was told that my car would be cleaned up and given back within a couple of days. After about a week and a half I called in to see the status of my vehicle and the rep told me that my car was taken apart piece by piece! At the time I had not given them the authority to take my car apart. After much back and forth with my insurance company and the shop they eventually put it all back together but nothing fit right. There was gaps between the fender and bumper. My mirrors had been scuffed and scratched and there's was at least 3 dents on my car while it was at this shop. My front bumper was sanded down and never repainted. They tried waxing it before they gave it back to me to make it seem new. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THEM! You'll end up finding your car in even worse shape. read more

No customer appreciation... I had my car repaired at Caliber after a mirror was broken off on my 2016 Nissan Rogue. Now they did the repair, I got my keys back, and off I went. That was on 3/10/2017. They told me that if I ever have any problems with anything, just give them a call. So about a week later, I noticed some scratches in the finish on my hood. I thought maybe since they did such a great job before, that they could take a look at it and fix it. I had some time today to go over there, but called them first, and tried to see if they could take a look at it and give me a visual inspection and tell me if it could be fixed. I mentioned that I was there before, and that Savannah Soliz was the estimator. They said they would try and get someone to look at my car and call me back. I never heard back from them, so I decided to drive over there and wait. Well, when I got there, the receptionist looked up my name and told me that she would call Savannah and have someone look at my car. It was lunchtime, and was waiting for a long time and was told that it would probably be better to come back in the morning on another day since everyone was out to lunch. I told her that I was moving out of state in a few days and that I don't have much time, so I was hoping that someone would be helpful, especially since I had already paid them $500 for a previous repair and getting better treatment. But no such luck. Finally I just went outside while waiting for Savannah to get off the phone and I saw a technician outside, so I asked him to take a look at the scratches. He was very happy to help and told me it was not a big deal and that it could be buffed out 90% and he could do it. But then some girl came out of the office and told me that I could not talk to one of their techs and that I would have to speak to Savannah, who miraculously came out. She shook my hand, but I could tell she was not very happy. She took a look at the hood and said that the scratches were not there when I brought the car in, and told me that the damage could have been done by cats, debris, or whatever. She also said that the scratches were very deep and could not be buffed out but they would have to replace the entire hood! Then she rudely walked away without saying anything. I was completely amazed at how I got 2 completely different assessments and also was surprised at how she treated me just two weeks after getting my money. read more

Car got rear-ended on a Friday morning, and my insurance company recommended this shop. I had the car dropped off, and requested daily email updates, which they did provide. My insurance company told me that the shop would provide a rental car for up to 5 days. But when I got to the shop, I was told, "no, that isn't true, we don't do that." I had to sic my insurance company on them to sort it out while I was standing right there in their lobby, because their website said that they absolutely do provide a rental car. But that little attempt at bait & switch was a minor thing, because they did relent and accepted the voucher my insurance company sent them. Problem was the repair was going to take 8 days, not 5. So 3 of those rental car days would be out-of-pocket. I received email updates all week assuring me that the car was on schedule and would be ready on Friday, exactly one week after getting hit. If that had happened, I would have given them a 4-star review, minus one star for the rental car confusion. I double checked on Friday (the due date) at around 2:45pm, and was assured that yes, the car would be ready around 4:30pm. Then about 10 minutes later, I get a call back from them in which I am told "Whoops, I guess we forgot to order a part, and we can't re-use the old part, and our supplier is out of stock, and we have to order it, so maybe your car will be ready on Monday." I drive a VERY common type of car for this area, so this really bugged me. These are the experts, and after A WEEK, they didn't have all the parts they'd need? If we weren't a one-car family, maybe this wouldn't have bugged me so much. So, great, 3 more days out-of-pocket on the car rental, which I brought up, and the shop agreed to pay for those 3 days, which was excellent customer service, and a good faith decision that I was genuinely impressed with, despite the other problems. So I take away 1 star for the initial rental car confusion (which seemed a little shady), and another for missing their own estimated completion date after assuring me EVERY DAY for a week that it would be done on time. But I'm also adding one star back in for the service manager that I dealt with, Jessica, who had her stuff together. She was helpful, patient, pleasant, and professional. I hope they know what they've got with her. read more
