Jacob the manager should be fired. Tried to do a walk in with my family of 8 a while ago. He acted like we were inconveniencing him and his oh so difficult job. Worst customer service ever. We get it Jacob. CPK Manager is the highest position you've ever held in your life and you hold it dearly because you reached your peak. But learn to treat your customers right. Maybe your CPK will run better like the other ones nearby. I will never go back to CPK ever actually because of him. I'd rather go to Sizzler. Congrats on your position of power Jacob. I don't even want to be funny in this review.. I swear the workers were all working in slow motion today. It took them a long ass time to get us seated. My sister even told them we were willing to sit outside cause they said they would be able to sit us faster. Didn't change anything.. was still slow. My sister had to go back three times to the front desk to ask them what was up with our table. Ok.. So then finally we were sat inside the restaurant. We ordered our food and drinks... and then we waited some more... Took them about 30 minutes to get our food to us.. COME ON CPK!! STEP IT UP! And we saw very little of our waiter after we got our food.. We all needed a refill to our drinks and he was NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. I was tempted to time him on how long it was till he came back to our table and give us all refills. But I thought that was harsh.. (and i couldn't find the stop watch on my phone.. haha). you lucked out buddy.. lol My food was good.. But it was ruined since I had to wait for my drink to be refilled. So all in all, this was a very disappointing trip to CPK.. We spent more time waiting then we did actually eating. read more

Came here because the line at Gengis Khan was too long. We were seated right away and our drink order was placed. the server came back and took our wine and food order. The food came out first and we almost finished our food before the wine came out... By that time there was no point to drink wine with our meal if our meal was already finished. I had the chicken garlic fettuccine pasta which was alright. The noodles weren't cooked all the way and I had to crunch my way through a few noodles. My boyfriend ordered the tequila lime pasta which was a very interesting twist to italian pasta. I have never tried anything like that before. We ended up switching out dishes back and forth until he finished both of them. Service here is alright, a little slow. Customers are funny, we were people watching and the table next to us said their Kendall Jackson Chardonnay was corked, which is impossible with a Kendall Jackson wine because the cork is plastic. Don't get me wrong- CPK is always a go-to while shopping at the Brea Mall- hardly ever a wait and the kids love the kids menu options. Dined in for lunch today 8-10-18- after paying the bill, I glanced at the charges and then at the menu to compare prices since I knew there was a slight difference. YES! There was a price difference and I was over charged which is NOT RIGHT! I asked my waiter and he didn't have a single explanation- he didn't bring his manager and did not solve the problem!!!! I WAS OVERCHARGED!!! And no reasonable explanation! Here is my receipt and pictures of the menu!!! The pricing for the kids pepperoni pizza is MORE on my receipt than on the menu and the kids Mac n cheese is MORE on my receipt than on the menu and for the add of edamame is written .59 on the menu but WHY is it $1.50 add on my receipt! We had ordered from CPK again recently. However this time on a large to-go order they had forgotten one of the entrees we had ordered in the order. I contacted them online through their website about the issue and a manager contacted us. They apologized for the error and we were compensated by sending us two complimentary gift cards for future dining purchases. I can really appreciate that effort they put in to make us happy and do the right thing. I will definitely be coming back again. read more

I ordered a California Veggie pizza which was to have roasted corn, broccolini, eggplant, mushrooms, red onions, roasted sun dried tomatoes. Got the pizza to our table and ended up with a pizza that was full of mushrooms and 6 pieces of broccoli. Kitchen person came to explain there was eggplant and corn-which was chopped up so finely-give me a break! I decline to have another pizza made, lost my appetite. Had great service last time I was here, which is the only reason I'm giving two stars - otherwise it would be one. Hostess sat us down at a corner table where no server could probably see us , even though there were plenty of other places to seat us. Waited about ten minutes in which time the hostess made eye contact and looked over multiple times and looked like she made no effort to contact a server via her earpiece. Finally just so fed up that I left with my boyfriend. This is terrible. I understand if you might be understaffed for the night but at LEAST ask if we want water. SOMETHING. It's CPK... It doesn't reinvent the wheel or do anything you don't expect- it's your standard CPK. However, like most chains, some are definitely better than others. Maybe my expectations were lower because this was a mall location, but it ended up being a very good experience. The waiter was prompt and friendly- once he saw that I wasn't going to turn down a refill, he didn't even bother asking, just kept the drinks coming. We were greeted and seated fairly quickly, and the hostess accommodated my request to be close to the TV so I could watch some football. We got some iced tea and Sam Adams IPA to start. They brought out some hot bread with some olive oil with spices to dip the bread in to start. We then ordered the Jumbalaya Pasta and the The Original BBQ Chicken Pizza with the smoked bacon. If nothing at all, CPK's food quality is the same every time on their pizzas. This is why we dine at CPK. The Jumbalaya Pasta was good. We love California pizza food. The only complaint I have the service was horrible yesterday Saturday afternoon. We got sat by the break room where the staff sit for break. They redid their interior and it looks a lot more spacious. I love CPK and is probably one of my to-go restaurants if I want some decent food. Food -bbq chicken pizza was amazing. was not disappointed and of course their pizza are delicious -lobster flat bread had too much mayo IMO. I had to use cholula sauce to wash down the mayo. I dont think it blends well with the flat bread. The lobster is soft warm while the flatbread is hard and crunchy. I think this would be better if served as like a lobster maine roll. -baked potato soup - way too cheesy. soup was cold and was not too great -quesadilla was like a caribbean style quesadilla. was in their appetizer section but wasn't all too good. not much cheese or chicken in it. Definite upside to this place was they free bread they give out. They improved it so much compared to their old bread and butter and this new one was so delicious! The waiter was nice but seemed very sad for some reason. Did not enhance my eating experience and wish he seemed happier. Overall for price, quality, and service this place is a 3 star. Love coming to CPK. No matter which one I go to, I can always count on the quality of the food being real good! I always get the California Club Pizza, however, I really need to broaden my palate next time. The last time I was here the bread was cut into thin slices made for my baby cousin and was served with butter. Now, they've put on some big boy pants and now the bread thickness is about double to triple what is was before, they dropped the butter and serve it now with a side of olive oil and seasoning. Pretty sure you can get butter still if you ask, as they still give you the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The server was attentive, and even when he was busy there was always someone who came by and asked if we were okay. Once we were finished our waiter delivered our check and even started clearing some of the plates. Glad to still see mid priced restaurants with old fashioned hospitality, and not just leave all the plates until you leave. Definitely still a great choice for a place to eat weather you're really hungry or looking for something light. I work in a restaurant and I understand with Covid restaurants are severely understaffed right now but that doesn't forgive rude behavior. I ordered CPK today over the phone and she told me to be ready in 20 minutes and I asked specifically for curbside pick up she said no problem and I was on my way within 20 minutes I get there it says to call this number and press two to let them know that you've made it and no one ever answers the phone. I called three times and on the last two calls someone answers it I said I was in curbside pick up spot number one and they hung up so I waited thinking that they were coming when no one came I dialed one last time someone answered and said hello hello and hung up on me. So I got out of the car went inside and the girl behind the counter said that the phones have been down and I asked her how long and she said all day I said how is that so when I placed my order over the phone and then all she said was oh. She runs me my total and gives me my food for getting my drink and when I get home all the modifications on my meals are wrong. Heavily disappointed in the service I was given today. read more

I always sit and enjoy the bar area....The bartenders are always so welcoming and friendly...always suggestive selling which gets me every time...because all the food here is so delicious and made to perfection. I sit for hours watching every single person preform their duties and I've never seen anyone do anything they shouldn't be..everyone is all about proper food handling and service...which i find huge especially being the kitchen is open to the publics eye. I have to say, been here multiple times with family and friends (separately), couldn't have been more satisfied with all visits. I have to say it's not going to beat the experience and taste of a real Italian pizza from my travels, but I have to give hands down surrender to CPK for satisfying my belly when I crave. Parking...well you have to fight with the mall rats. Restaurant is always clean. On one occasion, under the table was dirty. I'm assuming someone was too excited and got their area nice and greasy. The wait can be non-existing or sometimes 30-45 minute waits. Price is good for the quality and quantity of food. FYI the pizza(s) may seem small, but you get full trust me (or maybe not...). Located inside the brea mall, the location is a decent size but can get pretty crowded. We came during lunch time on a Saturday and were lucky enough to get seated right away. Their food is delicious! The bread was probably the worst part of the meal since it was a little tough to chew, but the rest was perfect. From my yummy strawberry lemonade to their incredibly delicious Kung Pao Spaghetti (a must try!). Everything tasted great. Outstanding service by our server Kaylie today. She was not only very friendly but answered all of our questions about items on the menu. Our food was brought out right away and our drinks were refilled without even having to ask. She had many tables to take care of and managed to keep up with them all with no problems. This one star is for their seating arrangement policy, not for food. They offer free pizzas when Dodgers wins. Thus lots of people were waiting at the counter, while the tables at the patio were all empty. Ugh. Dining here was one of those moments you wished you had a Hot Tub Time Machine. First of all, this mall location has a strange layout. A patio. A Middle Earth. And then an area that has direct access to the mall. It feels very disconnected from the other areas. So, you better hope you have an attentive server, because you can easily be left to die there all the while stretching your neck to see the action in Middle Earth. I was sat in this area. Secondly, I don't think they have bus people. There was a mishap involving an iced tea, the klutz who ordered it, and a plate. The iced tea spilled all over the table and dripped onto the floor...iced tea, ice, and glass. No one cared. So, my klutz and I moved to another table. And noticed an array of diners, servers, the hostess, and a manager walk through the spill, ice, and glass. I moved a chair in its path so that someone wouldn't slip. Later, someone put a "wet floor" sign, but still no one cleaned it up. That's when I noticed that not one table was cleared after the diners left. So, basically we sat in an nearly empty dining room surrounded by tables that hadn't been cleared. Lastly, the moment that finished things for me...I paid the bill. And as I was finishing up, I couldn't find my debit card. I emptied my purse. I told my server of my predicament who then opened his billfold to show he didn't have it and moved on. Someone I assumed was the manager came by to ask what the commotion was about. I explained that I couldn't find my debit card.. she steps back, takes a casual look at the floor and tells me she doesn't see it. I'm thinking, "what?...yeah, I can see the floor, lady." No one cares. No one sees it. So, I call the bank to report it lost and walk out. I'll get a new card in 5-7 days. Two hours later, as we're leaving the mall, my husband goes back in...just in case. And guess what? Yup. My debit card miraculously was found "over there" in Middle Earth by the server's station. Unbelievable. I wish I had that Hot Tub Time Machine. read more

They don't take $100.00 bills! We have been coming here for a couple of years, food is good, service is good. Today our waitress (who was nice) refused a $100.00 dollar bill as payment, she explained the restaurant does not take them for unknown reasons, we asked her, what would you do if the customer doesn't have a credit or debit card? My favorite parking spot when we come to Brea mall is always the CPK side. Always walking by here but never cared to dine in. I been going to CPK for years at other locations, but as much as I've come to shop this mall we finally paid a visit here about a week ago. It was a Sunday morning after church and a visit from the Apple store we went in for brunch, the place was wasn't busy at all and we got seated at one of the booths very quickly and I was like f*** yea!!! my stomach was growling like crazy since mass ( excuse my Language I just left church ) So we got our menus and my mindset was to get a pizza, and for the track record CPK is known for good small hand tossed pizzas. My stomach was telling me to get the Buffalo chicken pizza BTW something caught my attention I noticed there were calorie counts labeled on every food in the menu and that buffalo chicken pizza was worth about 1400 calories!!! Whaaaaaaaaaat!?!?! Tha F************k !!!!!! for a small pizza? I'm watching my calories so no more bloats... I don't know when the last time I had CPK but seeing calories counts for something I want to eat makes me go hands off easily, but this is new to me seeing that here and this place threw me off by surprise but hey I can't complain it's all about "Stay healthy America" I ordered the California Club pizza topped with grilled chicken, avocados, tomatoes, lettuce, mozzarella cheese and applewood smoked bacon. It's a few hundred calories less than the Buffalo chicken pizza but it will do. The pizza was pretty good it's light and hearty, you can add some ranch sauce on your thin crust pie, overall not bad. To me the Cali pizza was like chicken salad on toast bread. I'm not too much a fan of chain restaurants, especially CPK's pizzas are expensive because it's coming from Wolfgang Puck's cookbook. California's Pizza's Kitchen is not hard to find, maybe I"ll hit another one up next year. read more

Decent for mall prices, quick service, fresh food. This is generally a go two for my family when we come on shopping trips. It's exactly what you'd expect, nothing special, but super satisfying after a long shopping trip. Service is almost always excellent, if a little show (but they are always busy, so take that into account). Food is like all the other CPK's great ingredients, but not as healthy as I'd like to think it is (I am eating pizza after all).
