California Wheels did a great job of machining the front rims on my 1992 Eagle Talon TSI AWD to achieve a better wheel offset and gain needed fender clearance with my latest set of tires. The work was performed in a timely and professional manner. I was referred to California Wheels by my regular repair shop (Cartex, on Bascom Ave.). I went in thinking that they'd roll the fenders to achieve the necessary clearance, but was informed that the lip on the Eagle's fenders were too narrow to roll and that machining the wheels was a better solution (and cost the same). These guys definitely know their stuff. My Talon is not stock (I'd lowered it about an inch with Eibach springs) and have one inch wider rims than stock (now 7" wide) The tires I originally had on these wheels were Continental Aqua Contacts and they had a very rounded shoulder and didn't interfere with the wheel wells even though the lip of the rim extended beyond the fender. I changed tires to Bridgestone's, which have a rather square shoulder and the tires were scraping the fenders on bumps and hard cornering. The machining that California Wheels performed brought the rim edge even with the fender (I'd guess around 5mm) and the tires no longer rub! Thanks guys! read more

Honest, courteous, quick. Unlike many Firestone stores I've been to in the Bay Area, these guys didn't harass me with extra tire changes or yell at me when I pulled into the wrong place in the yard. And unlike Firestone they offered to patch my tire without me directly asking, instead of telling me I needed a new tire. Tommy and the crew did another amazing job on another one of my cars. A 2013 640i Gran Coupe. Ordered custom forged wheels and new tires with H&R lowering springs. Tommy recommended we go with a 20 x 10.5" for the rear wheels and pair up 285s with them Cars looks amazing. Better then I anticipated. I am considering looking at getting some new center locks for my 2012 997.2 Turbo S with 20" and 325s in the rear. We'll see what Tommy comes up with. Again thanks California wheels. My friend mentioned he had a slow leak in one of his tires and that he was going to California Wheels to have it repaired. He had recently done business with them and raved about their service. My tire pressure sensor said that one of my tires was significantly low, so I followed him over to the shop. It was around 2 pm and we did not have an appointment, so I expected a long wait time. When we pulled up, I noticed the staff was working hard, the work bays were immaculate and there were some high end cars in the parking lot. Tommy immediately came out to see us and took care of my friend's tire. While I was admiring the beautiful rims they just put on a brand new Mercedes E series, Tommy walked over and asked if I needed help. He checked all of my tires and found several nails, but said none of them had gone all of the way through. He then had his staff check my tire pressure sensor connections to make sure they weren't causing a leak. After verifying the sensors were good, they inflated all 4 tires to the correct levels. Tommy explained that sometimes chrome rims develop rust on the inside seal, which can cause a leak. He told me to come back if there was still an issue and they would dunk any problem tires in water to find the leak. He did not charge me and we were out of there within 30 minutes. Since I have 36,000 miles on my tires, I got a quote for new tires and plan to go back there soon. read more

After going to Big O, Wheel Works, Rite Way, Americas Tires and the Porsche dealer to have my TPM sensors installed on my HRE wheels and being told they could not install them, California Wheels said "no problem" we can do it for you. The staff was very friendly and knew what they were talking about. Tommy was very helpful and made several valuable recommendations that I agreed to do while the vehicle was there. Although the work was a bit pricy, it was worth the drive from Walnut Creek to Campbell. I would recommend to anyone who has a challenging situation or anyone who is looking for a nice set of wheels since they have a great selection on display that you can actually see and touch. read more

So I went in looking for matte black wheels for my car right away I could tell the guy that was helping me was rude and could not listen to what I was telling him I told him I don't like anything that isn't matte black I don't want glossy black not chrome not black and chrome not gunmetal nothing but all matte black he kept showing me everything but matte black and I was trying to show him the styles I wanted and he wouldn't look so finally I asked him if he had some that were on the wall and if they would fit my car he checked said yes so I told him ok I want those I waited a week to here from him to see when they will be in he never called so I called him he says oh I tried calling you earlier which was a lie I had no missed calls no messages then he tells me they don't have the wheels I wanted after a week and not even him calling to let me know I had to call him and that he ordered other ones for me which he never asked me if I wanted him to order me anything else I tell him I want my 500 deposit back he says I have to go in for a refund I go and he tells me here are your wheels (not the wheels I had ordered not even close to the style or color either) and I had already told him I wanted a refund so I get my refund that takes 7 days to get back but took 1 sec for them to get it out of my account I ended up going to aaa tires on bascom and Stevens creek very friendly and helpful and listen to what I asked for style and everything I will never go back to California wheels for anything just a bunch of assholes that work there the one on Winchester and capitol too read more

Tommy and his team at California Wheels helped me to relive my past! Back in 1985 when I was 24 and just started making the big bucks (LOL) I bought a brand new Lincoln Continental Mark VII off the showroom floor. The dealer in Los Gatos (McHugh Lincoln Mercury) put Tru-Spoke wheels on the car just before I bought it. I loved that car so much, especially the wheels! Being young and ready for my next love, I sold the car and of course regretted it. Now, over 30 years later, I bought another Mark VII and knew I had to put those wheels back on my new ride. Originally had 30 and 35-series tires installed by a Wheel Works on my existing 19" rims. They attempted to carefully install them, but couldn't remove the old tires w/o eventually cutting them off. That should have been a sign to me, but it was too late at that point. They got the new tires installed, but lightly scuffed a few of my rims, which were previously nearly pristine, but I brushed it off and didn't worry much about it. I recently found a nail causing a slow leak, and I was hesitant but called the same Wheel Works asking their recommendation on a place to get the tire repaired knowing they were 19" rims. Luckily the person I talked to this time admitted that 19" was too large of a rim for them to normally tackle and referred me to California Wheels. I was close to the Campbell California Wheels, so I came in and Gabe removed the bad tire to work on the patch and noticed the one and only significant curb rash on the rim of the tire I needed repaired. He asked if I wanted to get the rim fixed at the same time and since it was something I had been meaning to do, I agreed. Fabien ended-up doing a fantastic job of sanding or smoothing out the curb rash and re-polishing it back to stock. Really, that was the only way to repair the issue and Fabien did it right. Maybe thanks to Gabe and Fabien for the excellent service! If you're a car enthusiast or simply want some honest advice, I'd highly recommend paying them a visit. read more

These guys are really cool and willing to work with ya. My family, a bunch of gearheads, frequent these guys for rims/tires/custom work. I had stock rims on my 2010 SS Camaro. I wanted to get something done with it rather then throwing money at a new car. They were patient with suggestions and answered my needs in every way, especially with my concerns about thickness of the tire . I didn't want to end up riding on rubber-bands and feel every single bump in the road. They made suggestions as to aesthetics, comfort, and cost along with a very large catalog of images of work that they have done on other cars/trucks. After the job was completed, there was one thing that I didn't understand, which I should have. Which was the amount of lip on the tire which extends past the rims that I bought. I was a little concerned about it and they were willing to take to old tires that they already installed and put on a wider tire at NO COST. Very positive experience working with these guys. A big thank you to both Gabe and Tommy! I brought my car there on the recommendation from my wheel manufacturer as I could not get rid of vibration in the steering wheel after installing the wheels.
