The owner (whose name I did not get) is a nice woman who made conversation with us and said the restaurant is like home. Another worker, Rachel, would always accommodate to us and was very pleasant! We just moved to Coronado and we love this place. I had the burger and it was great. Sitting out back looking at the boats will make you fall in love with Coronado. It did for me!. I later came back for the breakfast burrito with green chilis and it was wonderful. They was an awesome array of fresh pastries that I was tempted to get into but I kept up my willpower. Please support this business. I spoke with the owner and she, like many small businesses, suffered through Covid. Now she is struggling trying to find people willing to come back to work. If there is someone in your life that you don't like, then definitely refer them to this place. I went there for the first time today and waited 30 minutes for a grilled cheese sandwich that was WRONG. Yes, you read that right. There were at least 4 staff members on duty. I was understanding when the woman told me that they were busy and I could tell that they were. Although, seasoned restaurant staff that have been there for quite some time should NOT take so long with people's food. There are only about 8 tables in the restaurant that are mostly full and no one eating outside. 4 staff members could have pulled it together and got it done. Came here for brunch on a late Sunday morning. I had the huevos rancheros, my husband had the breakfast burrito and my grandmother had the veggie egg scramble, without the eggs. My children had the tall stack of pancakes. The nice lady taking our order was so kind and accommodating. The Cook was happy to give my husband extra salsa for his burrito. The portions are generously large, so if you finish your plate, you should be full till dinner time. My caramel macchiato was too sweet, but I'll know to ask for less sweetener next time. We walked in early Saturday morning to the smell of freshly baked blueberry muffins! We had our pooch with us, so sat out on the back patio, with a wonderful view of the marina. This is a nice little deli cafe tucked away in a business tract. The owner was in attendance but made us wait at the counter as she discussed something unrelated to serving customers. A solid 5 minutes before taking our order for a simple turkey sandwich, which tasted good and was filling. The tables needed clearing and wiped clean for a midweek meal. Unique for the fact that it is tucked in the Coronado Quays community. Tie up your small boat or kayak (as we did) and walk into this small cafe. Family owned. Small breakfast/lunch menu, coffees., & variety of cool beverages including beers, sodas, and other refreshing drinks is what you will find inside. Food was good, nothing extraordinary yet fresh & delicious nonetheless. We were staying in the area and decided to check this place out. First of all food was nothing special. This review is mainly for service. Started off good with the daughter helping us with the order. The mother on the other hand who I assume is the owner, does not have manners nor should run this type of business. First of all, she came outside and told the people behind us she needs to close the umbrella because she worries about it getting damaged. Mind you it was really hot and the sun was beating down. They got up and left. Why not invest in some better quality umbrellas that isn't taped together?? THEN, what really made me want to write this review is when she came to pick up our dishes from our table she made a face because of the mess our one year old made with the food. After we stood up and walked through the restaurant to leave, she followed behind us and yelled out for someone to go clean the BIG mess that was made outside! I'm sorry but if you run a restaurant this is something that's expected from a baby and you have the tools to clean it. I don't walk around with my cleaning supplies! I regret not turning to her and asking her if she wants to hand me a broom! Mind you we tipped when the only thing they did was hand us the food. Everything else we had to go back in for. It's hard enough eating out with a baby so this type of attitude was unacceptable. She definitely doesn't have what it takes to be in the restaurant business. My friend ordered the Breakfast Burrito, which had 2 eggs, ham, house salsa, and cheese inside, and a side dish of the house salsa as well. I tried it and it was okay. They have a cooler that includes a LARGE SELECTION OF BEER AND UNIQUE SODAS. I knew what I wanted as soon as I saw it, Wild Elderflower Bubbly. I fell in love with it in England, but haven't found any back home. My friend got a sparkling apple cider. We were staying at the Loews Coronado Bay and didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for breakfast. Since we had a car, I decided to Yelp it. It's okay, I ordered an egg benedict sandwich. The fried was oily, but the ham was good. 6.95 for the sandwich, and it's not filling. I didn't get full nor satisfied, and I'm only 117lb. The caramel machiatto has a cardboard after taste, it doesn't taste like coffee, I can't even dentify the flavor. I can't even taste the caramel. I'm very dissapointed in this place actually, it's definitely over rated. The service wasn't that great, when I showed up the lady was outside the cashier and she was having a conversation with the customer's and I was standing in front of the cashier for a while before she actually asked if I was ready. This restaurant is tucked in the Coronado Cays off of the Silver Strand in Coronado, CA. I highly recommend it as the food and service was great. I was surprised that it wasn't filled with people enjoying their food and their one of a kind view.
