Fabulous food with a wonderful staff that goes above and beyond! This gem tucked in the Coronado Cays community is well worth the drive or walk, if you are lucky enough to live in this fun boating community. This cozy, waterside restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner on certain nights. They also feature live music with dinner occasionally. During this recent visit we enjoyed a lunch and a dinner. When we walked in for lunch the proprietor was just finishing some "sliders" which two of us tried immediately. They were the tastiest and BEST we've ever eaten The salads were also fresh and flavorful. Dinner was exceptional! We started with Caprese made with lucious burrata and sautéd calamari in a succulent sauce you'll want to soak up and eat with the fresh bread. Entrees included a lovely lasagna and chicken with an abundant supply of mushrooms in a rich gravy - all cooked to perfection. I was torn between the rigatoni and the Gorgonzola gnocchi but our fabulous (and fun) waitress said "I'll surprise you." The gnocchi came and I was indeed delightfully surprised! Perfectly cooked potato dumplings swimming in a rich, garlicky, creamy sauce! Amazing. The portion was so big the left overs provided a light dinner for two the next night. Yum! I don't know why there isn't a line out the door especially for dinners. I can only guess there aren't enough folks sharing this gem. This place should be shut down. The food is terrible and the service is worse. The lady who runs it doesn't know good customer service. It seems like she treats this place as a hobby and not a business always running around scatter brained. Multiple times I've waited in the front not being helped, hearing her in the back either on the phone or talking to one of her staff. I asked for a muffin one time and she microwaved it for 5 minutes and forgot about it. I had to remind her it was sitting in the microwave. The food is way overpriced for what you get. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and I received one egg on bread that was barely toasted no butter, one tiny piece of bacon. I've been this place a few chances because I live in the cays and it's our only cafe here, but no more. It's unfortunate it's the only option being so terrible. read more

Delicious food, amazing service & wonderful people! My husband and I were in Coronado for the weekend at my company party, staying at Loews Hotel. Breakfast at Loews was absolutely packed; the in-lobby cafe line was absurd and room service was 100% booked at 9am, room service line would not pick up the phone. So, we hopped on our electric scooters and went 1.3 miles south to Calypso, honestly expecting it to be packed as well but we were pleasantly surprised, greeted by a lovely woman (owner) who was so genuine and personable, and above all hospitable. There were customers but no line. You can tell from the beginning this is a mom-n-pop place but very high quality. We ordered coffees, a tuna sandwich, and the tastiest blueberry muffin we've ever had in our lives! On top of that the owner was so sweet and kind, and told us a story about her family. This type of business is rare these days and so appreciated. We will be going back in the morning and many times to come when we visit! read more

This a your basic tiny cafe, nothing stood out in particular other than the higher than average prices. $6- fruit bowl that contained 5 cubes of cantaloupe and 6 cubes of watermelon. $8 mimosa $5 orange juice Sandwiches are about $6.50-$8 (with no sides). Plates are about $11 each. The menus boards prices are not accurate, they have the real prices (about $.50-$1 more) on a paper menus by the register. The food was good, but nothing stood out as particularly tasty. Service was okay, they forgot part of our meal, and we had to wait in line to ask for it, and by the time we got it, the rest of the meal was starting to get cold. read more

Saw a lot of reviews and pictures of their food on social media and made it a point to check it out. This wonderful woman Hannah took our order. We found out quickly that she is the owner of the cafe. We had a wonderful chat and she is just so passionate about her cooking and is always adding different dishes to the menu. Short on time, we just ordered burgers today and they were so tasty and juicy and just all around yummy. We want to come back for dinner and try their pasta dishes and calamari!!! The employees were very accommodating with my special request regarding food and the hamburger I ordered (no bun no sauce) was made with quality meat. Good food in a beautiful place. This cafe is perfect for people staying in the Cays. Plenty of parking and even a charging station if you are driving. This place was disgusting. I don't know what people are eating here to give it such good reviews. Their iced coffee was so watered down it looked like ice tea. My husband ordered a $5 mocha. She first dumps chocolate syrup in the bottom, then filled the cup up with ice, milk, then espresso. The chocolate sauce was not coffee chocolate so it didn't mix. It was gross. Then out came our food. I ordered the sandwich. The sausage was HOT DOGS. Like what?!!! The eggs were dry. The bagel was a processed bagel you buy in packs at the grocery store. My husbands pancakes tasted like cake batter and were extremely dry. The put a huge chunk of cold butter that doesn't melt. My friends food wasn't any better. I wish I could get my $20 back so I could go eat somewhere else. Would never recommend. read more

Horrible experience even before entering. We went in at 7am and there was a woman and a man talking. I gave them a few minutes to speak as it seem pretty heated. After 5 or so minutes, I've politically asked if it was open. Both looking annoyed, they both yelled it was later at 8am even though it states 7am. I wasn't even worried about it being opened later but the fact the guy said "so get out of here!" really irritated me. I was really surprised that they would say that to a customer who came to try this place out so I just thanked them clearly befuddled. Look, I get you might have some drama but for us just looking for a nice place to eat, having employees act like that in front off the establishment looks bad. read more
