Horrible customer service!!!!! They sold me a hitch that was too small. I gave the boy the specs for what I was towing and he did NOT suggest anything. As a new camper I just went with the mid priced hitch. Turns out it was too small. But he should have been knowledgeable enough to know what to suggest. I returned the hitch less than a week later because the clearance between my 5th wheel and my truck bed was less than 2 inches. I returned the hitch and they never refunded me!!!! $1353 GONE and I'm still waiting AND NO REFUND receipt!!! That means the bank won't dispute the charges!!!! I called them for a B refund and the lady got an attitude with me over the phone for requesting my money back. I'm also pissed because I also had to drive 2 hours away to Hitch House in Stockton CA (which gave EXCELLENT service) to spend an EXTRA $1400 on a bigger hitch which should have been suggested to me based on the specs I gave the boy. They have made time to answer all of my questions, walked me thru my first dump out (and they provide free gloves as a courtesy), and even connected me with fellow RVers. Ware do i start, from the first time i called i suppose. I had just bought a used cab over camper and decided to call camp quest because it was nearby and despite some bad reviews id like to give people the benefit of doubt when it come to yelp reviews. I spoke to the wife and explained i wantes to get my cab over serviced and maintained so it would be ready for the great outdoors. She said no problem it should only take 2 or 3 days come drop it off. So i came right away did a walk through with her and unloaded the camper. So we go into the office to price stuff out and she tells me they wouldnt b able to work on it until after the new year! It was dec 19 and she had just told me on the phone ut would take 2 or 3 days and she doesnt tell me untill after we unload it... so i bite my tounge and i say hey ok i get it christmas new years makes sense even though you just told me something different on the phone. Jan 5 2016 i come back just to make sure everybody understands whats going on and whats going to be done and i talk to the husband this time to insists that hese the best hese been doing this for over a decade and not to worry but kept saying he makes no gaurantees on his work.... makes you feal better right. Call a couple time to remind them in waiting and now tday jan 29 after being hung up on after being put on hold for 10 minutes with know idea whats going on with my camper i show up tday and they have only done 3 hours of work. I had a unique job. Instead of buying another trailer hitch, I chose to remove the trailer hitch from my former partner's Honda Element (she has no use for it) and transferred it to my Honda Element. Previously on the former partner's element, the specialist noticed he had to correct an incorrect work done by U-Haul Moving & Storage of Jacksonville NC. Once he transferred it to my Honda Element, he did the correct work. Now I know why bike shops don't recommend U Haul, to put in a trailer hitch; they tend to recommend RV and Camper shops instead. Awsome place and the staff knows their task. When it comes to installing electronic components, don't trust U Haul, they tend to install dangling wires, while Camp Quest installs mounted connections. read more

I called up last week and asked if they had a skylight seal for a Vanagon I am working on at my shop. The lady that answered the phone was very nice and helpful. She recommended that I come in with what I had to see if she could match it. Well I made the mistake of coming in on a day that the owner was behind the counter. When I first walked in he gave off a bad vibe. I put the seal on the counter and before I could ask anything he was quick to say "we don't have it". When I asked where I might find a replacement he said "the internet". I figured he might know more about the specs of the seal so I asked how to measure it so that I could get the correct one if I found it on the internet. His response was "use a tape measure". I have never had such a bad experience with a shop owner or sales person before. Maybe he is just stressed out because of a slow business, but he might want to think that the reason that his business is suffering is because of his attitude. If he was nicer to me I would send business his way, but because of his cold responses to me I will not be doing any business with him. I would rather run up to Camping World many miles away then help him. The sad part about it is that my family sold him the building next door to him many years ago and gave him a "friend deal" when they sold it. I now wish that they would have sold it to someone else. read more

These guys did a very very poor installation on my wiring harness and the body buttons for my camper tie downs and not for cheap either!

Whew! We rented a 14' truck from here and moved ourselves. Everyone knows that moving is incredibly stressful and doing it on our own added a bit to that stress. Renting a truck from Camp Quest eased the stress as they were super easy to work with. The truck was ready as promised, they were friendly and prompt. Further, when the rainy weather slowed down our moving plans by a day, they were happy to allow us to extend our rental by a day or two as needed. It was a huge relief to know that we had the time we needed without someone anxiously awaiting the truck to be returned. We are very grateful that we had one less thing to worry about when there was so much going on! We would absolutely rent from Camp Quest again if we ever needed a truck in the future. read more

These people will bleed you for every penny they can get. I rented a truck and trailer. Despite returning it two days early (well before the weekend so they could easily rent it out again), they refused to refund me for the unused time (approximately $200.00 worth). The clerk also hassled me over less than one-eighth of a tank of gas. She threatened to charge me at least $50.00. I drove to a nearby station and, being unfamiliar with the truck (the needle bounced around), I added nearly three-eighths of a tank. Camp Quest refused to credit me for the extra fuel I added. Furthermore, their shop is located on a tiny lot in a crime-ridden neighborhood. Their merchandise is dusty and disorganized. I recommend you try any other business, even if you must drive some distance. read more

We bought our Bigfoot truck camper from them in 2007. Our purchasing experience was great! They walked us through the pros and cons of each brand and style. When we came to pick it up they spent time teaching us how to use it and operate everything. Since then we have used them for a warranty repair of a window leak, checks of systems, installation of air conditioning, replacement parts, and advice. They have always been good with the advice and efficient with installs. I highly recommend them. read more

Just about as good as they come for caps and campers. Ordering and installation was a breeze, and my A.R.E. cap looks so great on my Ranger. My camper's LED light isn't connected right or doesn't have a battery--unless I'm missing something--so I think I'll go back and have them help me out (which I'm sure they'll do cheerfully). read more

Would give zero stars but it's not a option. These guys definitely aren't the sharpest tools in the shed , went there to have a toolbox and ladder rack installed was told it would take 1 hour tops , 3 hours later buddy at the front desk tells me to come take a look at my truck. These guys ruined my bumper pulling my truck into their garage not sure how he managed to do something so idiotic the garage door is about 30 feet wide. The guy who damaged my truck must've been intoxicated. Now three weeks later still waiting for them to repair my bumper. But wait it gets better , I also had to reinstall my ladder rack and toolbox because they didn't do a good job and it already started coming lose. Definitely not a good experience this place is run by morons.also forgot to mention that the owner who sold me my toolbox and ladder rack surely did have a lot of negative things to say about Richmond and it's residents , really strange since his business is located in the heart of Richmond. Had a great experience getting a hitch installed on my Saturn Vue. My dealer wanted an outrageous $450 + attitude, but Camp Quest installed in an hour for $90. It was also great to be able to support a local family owned business. They were courteous and efficient. October 2012 we decided last minute that we'd like to get a truck shell installed on our pick-up before we headed out for a road trip the next week. Camp Quest was able to order us the shell we wanted and pick it up once it was ready as a rush. They got it installed just in time for us to load up the truck and head out on our road trip. This place has HORRIBLE customer service. The owner is rude and condescending and everyone who works there is extremely slow. These guys will be on the phone and not even acknowledge if there are 4 or more people in line. Once you finally get their attention, the employees are still ridiculously slow and lazy. I had my camper shell installed here and they messed up the order so they had to send it back. It took 6+ weeks for the shell to come back ready to install. I told them to call me when it arrived but they never did. They just had it sitting on their lot for who knows how long! I finally called and they said it was here and ready to pickup so I scheduled an install appointment which ended up taking almost twice as long as they said it would. Even on a slow day. Would not recommend this place at all. I'm amazed they are still in operation. Reading all the reviews definitely confirms my experience. Find a better business for your camper needs. read more
