There is so much to say about this vinces none of which is negative. I have been coming here since i was a kid in early 90s . My best memories from my early childhood come from this restraunt, i cherish that now that both grandma n grandpa are gone. We are continuing the family history and now bringing our boys here. The customer service is great, food great, you walk in its like you step back in time 30 years back to old simple times. I used to come here with my parents as a kid and decided to place a takeout order because I'm in town for the holidays... the lady in the front was so rude :( I asked if they do bread and butter and she cut me off rudely and just said "no" okay... ? So I came on yelp to see they do actually have garlic bread, that looks amazing actually.. And I wish she would have said they had bread as an option even if it was to purchase? I am not here to talk about the food, I am here to talk about the credit card system.. if you pay with card you get a non cash price, if you pay cash you get a 4 % discount. If you are in a party of people and 1 person at your table pays with a card no one gets the cash price, even if everybody else pays cash!!! I used a gift card for my meal, first off they had to get out the gift card book to make sure it was legit then it gave me the non cash price!! Gift cards are considered cash. When I asked the server,all she could say was we ran it in the machine.... If this was my business I would be looking for a new card machine company!!! It's a good thing that they have a platter that has three of their most delicious menu items. I hadn't had real authentic Italian since my ex's Sicilian mother passed away. Good sign when you show up on a Tuesday night and it's busy. Ordered their Strawberry margarita which was light and delicious. The Pasta e fagioli may be a bit salty for some but I found it tasty and ate it all up. I really enjoyed the Linguine Pescatore and substituted out the marinara for a light garlic butter sauce. Our family usually loves coming here. Never had a problem with the service until now. Our server Cassandra didn't check on us. We were just served the dishes then forgotten about. Oddly enough, this was during opening where there were barely any other customers. We had to get up and ask for napkins, water, and hot sauce. We were in the area and looking for a nice place for a late lunch. We came in and there were some patrons waiting for to go orders. It took a little longer than expected to be seated even though there appeared to be plenty of tables available. Once seated our server took our drink and appetizer order and a few minutes later brought our warm buttery garlic bread. We had the mushrooms which were very good but different than what we've had before. My partner had the lasagna which was really delicious. I had the chicken and vegetable salad. It was different but good. Overall, we found the food was decent. The service was great and staff was friendly. A lovely and cozy Italian spot! Was home visiting for the weekend and we happened upon this place thanks to Yelp! PARKING: Plenty of space in this small plaza off the freeway. AMBIANCE: It's a cute restaurant with booths and tables. There were a few large parties so that's nice they can accommodate that. It has a small area for waiting inside so it can get a bit crowded but otherwise cozy Italian is the vibe. FOOD: We ordered the calamari and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers. Calamari was light and crispy with marinara sauce and overall a solid dish. The mushrooms were pretty good, but nothing to write home about. It was stuffed with meat so a little heavier than what I anticipated. I ordered the Rigatoni which was so good. Creamy sauce with a good helping of sausage and spinach. It was a pretty large portion too. My family ordered the Pomodoro with shrimp which was light and flavourful especially with the tomatoes. We love a good tomato moment. We also had the Linguini Pescatore which was very good. The seafood was cooked well and generous, and the sauce was so tasty. All the pastas were cooked well, nothing overcooked. Come hungry because the pastas came with your choice of soup or salad and they gave us garlic bread. SERVICE: We got our food SO quickly. Speedy service. Attentive waitress who refilled my drink and checked in on us a couple times throughout the dinner. No helicopter servers here. Really friendly overall. Came for the 2 for $30 which is falsely advertised on facebook ugh each entree coming with a choice of salad or soup, entree (limited), and dessert. It says each entree comes with one dessert but it only comes with one dessert for the two entrees and you only have a select option if 2 items. Not the biggest deal, but what compelled me to write a review is that my family loved this place for years and it's sad to see the quality of the food go down. In addition to not being to get ahold of anyone on the phone with all of the numbers listed on their website and yelp, we called each number 3 times...it was mainly the food that disappointed. The soup was my favorite but now it sooo salty and the portions are very small (the two soups this meal came with filled up my standard bowl at home 1/2 of the way). We have been going here for years and this was the worst service ever here! We ordered the special for $30,I ordered the wedding soup and the wife ordered the minestrone soup which were delicious like always,We ordered a lasagna and chicken fettuccine which was also great and 2 glasses of water. The waiter dropped off soup and water and returned later with our order with a phone in his ear and put plates down,not even asking if we needed anything. I guess he had an important phone call that he needed to talk that was more important than taking care of his customers. He never returned until later with our bill. He was taking care of other tables bringing them water and bread. My wife asked for more bread and he said that he would need to add it to our bill. That's when I said "you expect us to pay for more bread when the service was lousy " he said I am sorry for the service. So my wife paid the bill and I told her to make sure she didn't tip him. He came back with the machine and said you don't have tip me. I kept my mouth shut. We don't go every week but we go at least twice a month,but We will not be dining here as much anymore. Our server checked on us frequently and was efficiently friendly. Complimentary bread was tasty with lots of butter just how I like it! Ordered a bottle of chianti that wasn't listed on the menu and we enjoyed it especially given the great price ($32). My wife had the eggplant Parmesan and I ordered the spaghetti carnivore. Each entree came with a soup or salad so we got one of each. The pasta fagioli soup was nice. Would order it again. My wife's dish was pretty good, but having just made the same dish recently, I am pretty sure they skipped the step of salting the eggplant for at least 1.5hrs. This draws the moisture out and softens the eggplant flavor a bit. It was still good, just not what my wife was expecting. The spaghetti was decent. I thought the sauce was going to be more meaty but it seemed more like a regular tomato sauce to me. Portions were huge so you will definitely leave feeling satiated. We enjoyed our experience overall, but temper your expectations and don't expect authentic Italian fare and your score will probably be closer to 5 stars. read more
