    Garlic knots

Wedding soup was very good. We ordered the sampler that had lasagna, fettuccini alfredo and chicken parmesan. We were hoping this restaurant would be real Italian as we were looking for sweet tasting marinara sauce, not tart. However it still came out as your typical American tart sauce. But I guess I can't blame them because the real Italian sweet tomato sauce comes from the San Marzano DoP or Piennolo del Vesuvio tomatoes that are hard to come by here. I know about these because several times I've been to Italy, I asked them why their tomato sauces are sweet compared to the USA and that's what i was told. The garlic knots were good and so was their tiramisu. Too bad I didn't have the chance to try the bruschetta.

Italian lunch with two friends. I had the chicken cacciatore which was amazing. The serving is huge (so I have enough for tomorrow!). My friends had chicken Marsala and another chicken dish (didn't get the details), but they also enjoyed their meals. The service was decent. It would have been nice to have our water or ice tea glasses refilled. The ambiance is nice. Italian music playing in background is at a good volume. Both booths and stand alone tables available.

Came here Tuesday for lunch with some fam and it was tasty! The service was great and they have some pretty awesome lunch specials! I got the baked ziti which came with soup or salad I got the minestrone soup and my little loved it. The baked ziti was very tasty but my little cheese pizza was where it's at super tasty! If I'm ever in the area I will definitely come back. The sauce on the ziti is divine.

The food here is delicious They start you out with bread n butter yummy! The service is excellent and they are consistently check to see if you need anything n filling your drinks. It's a quaint nice Italian decor place. The pizza was fantastic! And the prices not bad at all! A definite must visit if you're in the area!

    Calzones

1/5 -- Disappointing experience, twice This was our second time ordering takeout from Cannataro's, and unfortunately, it will also be our last. Our first experience was very negative, but we decided to give the restaurant another chance. We wish we hadn't. We ordered two Papa-sized calzones but received one Papa and one Mama. They also got the fillings wrong. We ordered one with pepperoni, mushrooms, and black olives, but they put jalapeños in it instead of black olives. That's a pretty significant mistake, especially for someone who doesn't like or can't tolerate spicy food. On top of the incorrect order, neither calzone was even placed in a bag for a takeout order. The food is extremely overpriced for what you receive, and the staff was incredibly rude and provided very poor customer service. Mistakes happen, but when you're charging these prices, getting the size and ingredients correct, properly packaging a takeout order, and treating customers courteously should be the bare minimum. We gave Cannataro's a second chance after a bad first experience, and unfortunately, the second experience confirmed that we won't be returning.

This was the worst minestrone soup I've ever had literally!

I don't know how anybody could say. This is the best Italian food in the neighborhood. The soup tasted like Campbell's. The pizza had hamburger like they just threw it on there. The salad was the only thing that was decent. This place is definitely a never again.

Have been here many times throughout the years and let me just say.... The food stay bomb and didn't need any work but the staff was the hot mess. They have gotten much better from what I just saw. Went today on a random Monday date night with hubby after massages and staff paid attention to us upon arrival and our waitress (wish I got her name) was awesome. She was busy with a lot of ppl on her route but did her absolute best to be personable to everyone. Food came out quick and piping hot! Reasonable prices, cute ambiance and definitely our favorite Italian restaurant. We travel all the way from San Jacinto for it so you know I mean that. Oh but one suggestion: the stuffed mushrooms were good but in high need for sauce. Calamari is fresh and amazing, salmon Alfredo was perfect and cannoli is always on point. YUMMY

11/11/25 Amazing Italian restaurant serving up delicious meals, (somewhat) romantic & cozy ambiance with good service. Met up with good friends at this establishment for lunch & it was busy! Lisa, our server was slaying it with good service. Took advantage of their lunch specials which were between $11-$13. Hubby & I shared a gourmet pizza & the spinach ravioli, which came with garlic bread. The bread was addictive!! Our friends shared the Alfredo sauce to dip our bread & that was really good. My ravioli was served with soup & I opted for the Wedding soup. Not bad for $13. It's cozy & the place also played Italian tunes. Parking is free & it shares the space with other businesses. Would definitely return if we're in the area

This review is for take out. First, they have a great selection of items, mostly Italian, however lots of other dishes. We ordered two main dishes, with sides, and desert. 1. Meatball sandwich. This came with a pasta salad, and we shared an order of garlic bread. I also hot the chocolate mouse cake. I must say the meatball sandwich was perfect. The pasta salad great as well as the decadent chocolate cake. 5/5 for me. 2. My friend got the lemon herb chicken with veggies, and for desert, the canoli. She loved both. We were very happy with everything and definitely going back. This was an excellent Italian restaurant and will be trying the spaghetti next for sure. We might even go eat there, but the takeout was very easy too. Thx.

It has a great menu that makes me want to try everything! Everything was very good but chef was heavy handed on the salt. The Malbec we ordered was a great wine to pair with our meal. Complimentary garlic bread was so goood. Wish they offered more ! Seafood linguine pescatore- includes a bunch of seafood , with marinara wine sauce. Good seafood infused flavors Stuffed mushrooms- filled with ground beef, sausage, and a bunch of cheese Minestrone soup- a lot of veggies and very good but on the saltier side Steak arrabbiata- salty steak and sauce but good spicy garlic wine sauce with the linguine House salad- glad they were able to put the dressing on the side. A lot of cheese, with olives but refreshing and healthy with the meal Overall good Italian spot to check out. I'll definitely come back and try their other dishes. Their pizzas look so good too!

Why did it take me so long to visit? This is an awesome hidden gem for some great food. Lots of seating inside booth or tables. Booths are more intimate great for date nights. Back section has chair seating for larger groups. Lunch menu has a good selection great for sharing and trying more entrees. Pasta comes with soup or salad. First round of bread is on the house. Any additional are $2 for a half and $4 for a whole. Go for the whole! And add a sauce for dipping while ur at it. Soup was comforting and flavorful, Spinach pasta was tasty with that red sauce. Pastrami was juicy and tender cuts warmed and sandwiched with that perfect hit of mustard. Both were great! A little patience is needed when it's a full house during the lunch rush. Service was great and food delish! Parking right in front.

Wait time of this place. Unfortunately yelp doesn't show waiting times passed an hour.

    Does Cannataro's take reservations?

Call and ask they sit you fairly quickly

Are there any lunch menu options?

Yes we have great lunch specials

I'd like to place a catering order but I wasn't able to get in touch with anyone. Can someone help with this?

There's two things you can do you could go by the restaurant and talk to somebody in person that's what I did. It's easy to look at the menu and you have someone to talk to. Also you could try their email and look at them online and see their…

Where can I find the nutritional facts for the items on your menu?

    Not sure

How much ricotta cheese is in their calzones? What is the ratio of ricotta to mozzarella?

Just the right amount to make them taste awesome

Is it really closed on Sundays?

Yes, unfortunately lack of staffing has caused us to be closed on Sunday. We look forward to serving you on another day of the week.

    Do the meatballs have gluten?

I’m sorry our meatballs do contain a little bread, so yes that would be gluten!

Does this place ever pick up their phone?

Yes, They are extremely popular and extremely busy. They provide outstanding guest service.

Does anyone know if we can make reservations? Thank you in advance

They are not currently taking reservations.

How come when I ordered the capellini pomodora with shrimp the price for the shrimp add-on is $6 online when the printed receipt said $4? I paid $2 more when ordered online than what it said on the printed receipt.

They have pricing discrepancies between online and the menu and the system that generates the bill. Ordinarily this would be a huge problem for a store but the restaurant does nothing to fix it. See my review a long time ago that complained about…

    Is dine-in currently available?

March 2021, dine in is now open

What is served with each entree?

Joe, we were last there in July and if I remember correctly, all entrees included a house salad and garlic bread. If you're extra hungry, I highly recommend a bowl of Julie's Wedding Soup.…

Hi, Do you have a gluten free pasta option? Or gluten free pizza?

Yes we Have gluten free penne and we have a 10 inch gluten free pizza.

Hi does anyone know if they are taking orders for pick up or delivery? Woukd they deliver to Chino Hills?

Pick up, Yes. Delivery- I believe they use DoorDash

Hi Julie, What's the back room capacity? I'm looking for a restaurant that can accommodate 130.

Probably no more than 40 people in the back room and that would be tight. Vince's Spaghetti in Ontario has private rooms that can accommodate the number of people you are looking for and their Italian food is very good.

Anyone know if they are open New Year's Day 2020?

No we are closed today, I was trying to figure out how to post that on Yelp!

Has anyone ever had catering from here? My brother is getting engaged and I really would love to hire them for this special occasion Or would it be easier to just reserve the back space for at least 20 people? Any suggestions or reccomendations?

Hi PK, We would love to cater your engagement party either in our backroom or catering the party at your home! Please feel free to call us anytime for more details 909-260-2049 Julie C. Thank You!

How do I get on the waitlist? The waitlist does not come up when the restaurant opens / come up.

When you are on the Yelp app it will show you how long for the waitlist and give you the option to join the waitlist. When you get there just tell them you have put your name on the list with Yelp.

Is the pasta hand made or dry?

Unfortunately, we do not make our pasta in house! On occasion we do make the gnocchi, but most we purchase as we do not have the space to lay out the pasta when making it from scratch!

    How is their catering?

Legit! Just ask to speak with the owner Julie and she will make sure you're taken care of.

AMBIANCE 5.5/10…read more After spending way too long trying to decide what to eat, we finally settled on seafood boil and landed on The Big Catch because of their all-you-can-eat option. Walking in, our first impression wasn't great the building looked a little run down. Once inside, though, the vibe improved. It had a rustic sports bar feel with TVs everywhere, an open bar, and a seafood station. Nothing fancy, but not terrible. EXPERIENCE 7/10 The service was one of the better parts of the visit. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and took the time to answer our questions and recommend a few items. The food took a little while to come out. BTW there's a 90 minute limit after we were seated and the second round of our seafood took 30 minutes to come out (they apparently forgot our order) and they proceeded to tell us we had last call right after our second round of food barely got to the table. Not sure if that's done on purpose but we really didn't really appreciate that. Overall though, the staff definitely made the experience better. THE FOOD 5/10 Here's where things started to fall apart. The first all-you-can-eat platter came with two snow crab clusters, 1/2lb crawfish, 1/2lb mussels, 1/2lb peeled shrimp, plus unlimited sides. One thing that caught us off guard and maybe we just missed it on the menu is that after your first round, you can no longer order the snow crab or peeled shrimp. That was disappointing since those ended up being the best seafood options on the table. The snow crab was solid, and the peeled shrimp were surprisingly good the texture was crunchy and we didn't get any fishy smell or flavors. Everything after that... not so much. Round two included whole shrimp, clams, and scallops. The portions were noticeably smaller, and almost everything tasted like it had been frozen for too long. The crawfish lacked freshness, the whole shrimp had the same issue and were mushy without the initial crunch additionally the shrimp was hard to peel which makes us think that it was POSSIBLY reheated, and the scallops were tiny with a strong fishy flavor that made them hard to enjoy. Even the House/Cajun seasoning didn't do much to save it. It was too oily and honestly just tasted like salt, there was no spiciness either and we got the hot flavor. Ironically, the sides ended up carrying the meal. The cucumber salad was fresh and crunchy, which balanced out some of the heavier seafood, and the sweet potato fries were honestly one of our favorite things we ordered. And one last thing... somehow even the water tasted off. What We'd Order Again Snow Crab Clusters Peeled Shrimp Fish Taco Sweet Potato Fries Cucumber Salad Sausage Corn Skip These Whole Shrimp Clams Mussels Scallops Crawfish House/Cajun Seasoning Cajun Fries Cajun Wings Boiled Egg Water Final Rating If you're going for the all-you-can-eat seafood, don't expect premium quality. The first round is decent, but once the crab and peeled shrimp are off the table, the meal drops off pretty quickly. Would we come back? Definitely not. We ended up paying 90$ for 2 people which you can argue is good since it's an AYCE seafood meal but afterwards after speaking to the waiter we found out the shrimp and crawfish was indeed frozen that along with all the other disappointing food doesn't make us feel like it was worth the money. Overall Gassington Rating: (5/10)

Our usual order is 1lb of shrimp and 1lb of mussels, and we've always been happy with it. This time, we decided to try the Combo #2 because we wanted to add crab legs. We ordered three combo bags, each with shrimp, mussels, and crab legs. Unfortunately, it didn't feel like there was anywhere close to 1lb each of shrimp and mussels in the bags. I can't prove it, so I can only share our experience, but it honestly felt like there were fewer than 15 shrimp in the bag. For the first time ever, we finished our meal and were still hungry afterward. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend ordering the combo bag. Not only did it seem like there was significantly less food, but with all the ingredients piled together, some items ended up overcooked. We were really disappointed because we've had consistently good experiences with multiple locations here over the years. Hopefully this was just an off day, but we'll be sticking with ordering the seafood separately next time.

HOUSE PAN ROAST It tasted exactly what was expected. A creamy tomato soup consistency and flavor. Got level 2 or 3 for spice level. I wanted more of that creamy flavor, not spice. Any higher than 3 would be Tabasco level spice and up. Deliciously filled with shrimp, chopped scallops, small crab meat. I could taste the crab meat, which was all sitting at the bottom of the bowl. The scoop of jasmine rice with the creamy pan roast was comfort on another level. Got the small size, but it is enough for me. I do wish there were more shrimp and scallops and crab in the pan roast. I felt the scallops and crab were chopped too small and wished there was a bit more. But still I enjoyed the pan roast and would get it again. As an appetizer and accompaniment to the house pan roast, they bring a basket with three sliced breads and a side of butter. It's a light, soft bread with a bit of sour flavor. Didn't like it. I would have preferred dinner rolls. CUSTOMER SERVICE I arrived 1 hr before lunch closing time. It closes at 2:00pm and then re-opens for dinner at 5:00pm. But service was good! Only one server, but she checked back with everyone and all around better than most places I've been at recently. Lots of people came in 30-40 mins before closing time. I was hung up on several times over the phone, ignored multiple times when I showed up in person the next day, pressured to sign a claims release in order to get the refund, then was told I was an inconvenience to your business. Another fact is I lost my appetite after tasting your food yet was essentially called a liar when I came in the next day because I didn't appear sick to your employee. I cannot believe that is how your employee was allowed to treat a customer and I honestly hope you had a serious conversation with them. For the record, I was signed out of my main account for several months and did leave a review on a temporary account. Once I gained access to my main account, the review on my temporary account got deleted because that account got deleted. I operate on only one account and needed to re-write any reviews that got deleted. Looks like someone reported my review for your business, so I did revise it to better follow yelp's guidelines. Therefore, it is absolutely not an exact duplicate of the previous review. The real impact here is not only the loss of appetite, but also how I was treated after I raised concerns. It really was one of the most horrendous experience with restaurant staff. I will never again feel comfortable stepping inside your restaurant that is careless enough to scoop an item that was already made with chicken in it instead of making a fresh one with only seafood then try to pressure a customer to sign a claims release to protect yourselves. Nice try, but I'm not falling for that and neither should anyone else.

The seasoning is lackluster Service was mediocre. No one came by to see if we needed anything and we had to stop the waiter on numerous occasions to get a refill and/or condiments. In fact my wife bit into the first clam in our bag and it had so much sand [or something granule] she was done. I got some too but I kept going through. I was surprised that we could not get a half pound increment. Our local place definitely allows that. We thought one pound of shrimp would not have been enough so we asked for 1.1/2 pounds but they would not allow it. We decided to stay with one pound only and thank goodness because we were not happy with the taste or the sand. The other thing we did not like was that the menu had almost no prices. All of it said "Market Price". Why have a menu. I get some places have market price on lobster or something rare but everything in this place can't be market price. And finally, the prices here are way higher than some other places we like to visit but the quality was nowhere near what we are used to. I was shocked that the place was pretty busy and the service was good but we won't be coming back here.

FRESH FLAVORFUL SEAFOOD!…read more $5 margarita thursdays brought me in for the first time! I was surprised at how big it is on the inside lots of seating! World Cup games on multiple TVs at their bar. I got the half order of aguachile and it was enough to share with my friends! Great portions here! The veggie shrimp taco $5 with the cheese crust FTW! The girls serving us were beautiful and super attentive always checking in on us. I will def be going back again! The only negative about the $5 margarita was it was a small cup not the giant glass you normally get.

Took a look at the menu and asked for some recommendations. I ended up getting the cooked mixed seafood ceviche. I noticed they had some options of cooked seafood or raw seafood ceviche. I didn't want to take a chance with the raw seafood in the case I wasn't going to like it. I also got a cucumber lemonade aqua Fresca and an order of fries. So much for being healthy. Haha Anywho, when I got the receipt I noticed I was charged an extra $2 for avocado and a small service fee. I asked the workers about these charges and they explained it to me. I had both charges removed and I highly recommend the workers be upfront with customers before they print the receipt. Anything that is an extra charge or additional fee should be mentioned beforehand as to not sour the experience and to avoid printing multiple copies. For instance, ask the customer if they want avocado or not and mention the charge and when they're ready to pay the bill ask how they'd like to pay and be transparent beforehand about any fees associated with their choice of payment. As a customer, the experience is better when employees are kindly upfront. After I paid I wasn't given back my receipt so I did ask for it. While I waited they gave me some chips and the food came out within 5 mins. It was quick. I took it home and enjoyed it. Its not the best ceviche I've had but it was decent. They gave me a bag full of tostados, crackers, lime, and multiple sauces. The fries were soft but the flavor was alright. The white queso sauce they included with the fries saved it. No ketchup, utensils, or napkins were given. However, the portions of ceviche and fries were fairly big and can be eaten twice or by 2 people. 3.5 stars overall.
