The main food, like not the sides, was amazing. I got the churro waffle and it was hot, sweet, flavorful. It was the best waffle I've had and I'm not much of a waffle person. The sides were lacking, pretty ordinary which is why I only gave 4/5. The service was good and our server was very nice and welcoming. It was very busy so we did sit outside, but still a great experience. I'd recommend for a brunch or breakfast if you have time to wait or make a reservation. A small place with a punch of great dishes... didn't wait too long to be seated, once inside, we were greeted promptly, she gave us some recommendation. Maybe is just me but I look forward to zip on a nice hot black cup of coffee and if is good, it is only a good indication that the food will be even better, I mean if your coffee sucks then I have no hope for the food. So this place is kinda small and busy but it's probably one of the best brunch places in town in my humble opinion. Food: The food here is awesome I got the big daddy omelette and sweet potato pancakes. The omelette was good but I feel like I've had better. The pancakes though. Wow best I've ever had. I had the big man on campus omelette, which included bacon, onions, mushrooms and cheese. The bacon was a single piece uncut, the onions weren't cooked, and the omelette was super thin. I was extremely disappointed. Update: I returned for the Big Man On Campus Omelet and I must say it was great! I'm updating my score because not only was the food spot on this time but I also appreciate management reaching out to resolve the concern. I appreciate them offering a GC, but it's not needed, in my book they made all things right by addressing the issue in the kitchen. What can I say I feel strongly about my breakfast :). read more

This cafe is disgusting!! I only come in because my mums doctor is next door. Four trips and I've had to send my food back three times! I'm easy to feed and not fussy but this place does everything it can to displease you. Rubbery hash browns (every time) cold bacon and eggs (every time) and you have to wait around 30 mins every time to discover that this place doesn't care about the quality of its food or satisfaction of its customers. First time at a Canopy Road Cafe. It was packed which is always a good sign for a breakfast spot. There was a 30-40 minute wait, but luckily the bar was first come first serve. I ordered the Jamaican Omelet. It's a bit of a stretch to call it Jamaican, nonetheless it was pretty good. Chicken was solid. The omelet itself (eggs) was really good. The hashbrowns hit the the spot, but it's hard to mess up hashbrowns. There was plenty of food so no need to worry about leaving hungry. Service was great, our server was friendly, and knowledgeable. This is my favorite breakfast, brunch, lunch spot in town! Usually go to the Capital Circle NE location on Saturdays. They are so friendly and fast and the food is always fantastic. They also have a huge menu with so many options to pick from, and everything has been spot on! Their eggs benedict are perfect. Had breakfast here on Sunday, March 1st, for the first time at 8 am and sat at the counter. Very good service from the waitress even though they were getting busy. Ordered the West Benny which was Eggs Benedict on a croissant instead of an English muffin. Came with home fries. Pretty good, tasty hollandaise sauce, but the croissant was very hard to cut. It was fresh, but when toasted, makes it hard to cut with a knife. Good idea but I ended up eating the croissant by hand. I noticed that their coffee comes from the Lucky Goat (sign displayed prominently) but it was very bland (ok, I'm a coffee snob lol). But overall, very good service and all of the wait staff were personable and friendly! Now, for my one criticism- $17.80 for breakfast! We decided to give this a try after reading the reviews and word of mouth from friends. I was surprised by the high ratings. I think Canopy Roads gets the benefit of the doubt simply because it's one of the few non chain local breakfast places in town so people review it on a biased scale. My experience here was ok. The food was not bad, but cleanliness is a problem and the service is not good. Inattentive wait staff working in a cramped space. They just didn't seem interested in being there. We waited nearly 20 minutes to order and it only happened then because we had to stop another waitress to ask for our server who had just taken the orders of two tables that sat down 10 and 15 minutes after us. She then seemed annoyed that we were wanting to order. Overall, not great. We will give one of the other locations a try and hope things are better. This location, however, gets a generous 2 stars. read more

Moved to the area a few months back. The breakfast food is average which unfortunately is the best we can find in the area... it's 25 minutes away and the place is exorbitantly over priced for what it is. Our tab is usually right around 100 bucks for my family, but that was fine. We came here a minimum of twice per month since we got here. We are a family of 5. Last time they squeezed us at a table that doesn't even comfortably fit 4. Tried to go this morning for Father's Day. There were multiple tables large enough to comfortably fit my family. They tried again to squeeze us all into one of the tiny tables. I asked if we could sit at one of the larger tables that were available. The waitress said my children were not old enough to warrant one of the large tables. They said they were saving all these tables for parties of 5 adults. They turned my family away for Father's Day breakfast. Now we are eating Dunkin' Donuts... needless to say they've lost my business for good. read more

Very cute little cafe. We went at 10:00 and it was very crowded. The worker told us we could sit at the bar or wait for a table. We decided to sit and wait but it wasn't even two minutes later that a table opened up. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive. Even though it was packed they constantly stopped by to check on us. My son created his own omelette with bacon and provolone cheese. He loved it! It also came with hashbrowns and a biscuit, which I have to admit that I ate. It was delicious. I ordered the Bebee(veggie skillet) which came over hashbrowns and wheat toast and loved it as well. There were plenty of choices on the menu, so many that I couldn't make up my mind right away. But on the next trip there the French toast will be a must! read more

Canopy Road Cafe is your quintessential neighborhood diner. They offer a large selection of breakfast entrees including omelets and skillets. I sampled the breakfast quesadilla this morning. While very tasty, I found it to be overly greasy. The home fries that come with it are little nuggets of perfection. My husband sampled the Special, which consisted of scrambled eggs, a sausage link, home fries, & toast. Prices are similar to any other breakfast diner and the staff is friendly. Haven't eaten @ the Monroe location. But, I can tell the one on Capital Circle NE location is horrible. Coffee burnt, food is cold and service is halfass and overpriced. Excellent breakfast! Breakfast is my favorite and this has always been my go to place in Tallahassee. They have huge portions and it's always a nice atmosphere! This morning we had the captain crunch French toast combo and then the build your own omelet! Both were so tasty and more than enough. We had to ask for a Togo box!! Also, they have fantastic hash browns.. and super crispy home fries. I'm picky about both.. so I'm here to report that they are both cooked to perfection. I was pleased to see the extent of the menu, especially the different kinds of pancakes they offer. Robert had the Reese's short stack and added eggs and a pork link and I have the breakfast sandwich (subbed Texas Toast for croissant add $1), no cheese, scrambled eggs and turkey sausage patty. They were able to accommodate my moms request for gluten-free pancakes that she just had to have that morning, she's not celiac but she needs to be gluten-free for other reasons. They were very sweet and patient explaining that they were not dedicated gluten-free and then they were super accommodating when we asked for fresh fruit in the pancakes. Also for the price we paid, which was very resonable, these were two fairly generous pancakes with sides. Mom had breakfast for two mornings. We've eaten at Canopy Road before and been satisfied. Today, 6/26/2017, our service and food were both VERY disappointing. Food - we both ordered burgers "medium rare", "no problem" according to the waitress but both burgers were "very well done". The wrong side was delivered. Service - once the food was delivered our waitress NEVER checked on us again, not once. Not to check to see if the order was correct, the food was okay, need a drink fill up, get our check. We needed to go to the cash register in order to get the check and pay our bill. This has been a nice local franchise. Hope it's not going downhill. Our young server/college girl wasn't really happy to be here. She did her job with our coffee and food. The food was breakfast food was good nothing special. I ended up with a skillet I believe the meat one with home fries and a few sunny side up eggs and some unbuttered, untoasted rye bread. Last couple of visits have not been 4 or 5 stars. Slow service and forgotten items from orders. Food soggy as it was waiting for other items ordered for meal. Asked for crisp bacon and got rubbery bacon, etc. Last 2 visits were only 3 star. Hope to have better luck on the next visit. It didn't help that we sat next to an obnoxious table with 2 screaming toddlers and parents laughing, thinking it was funny! We came back today to give this Canopy Road location a second try. We were seated, right around the time the hostess anticipated we would would (after about 10-15 minutes), and the food came out correctly. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla this time and it was delicious! The downside, was that the home fries that I got tasted like the burnt, bottom of the basket ones. My husband got a fresher batch and let me have some of his. He also got a delicious biscuit! Service was pretty good. I probably wouldn't come back to this location, just because it's not as convenient for me as the midtown location. This is a good go to place for breakfast and brunch, just be warned... it gets crowded with long waits on busy weekends. read more
