Service is getting worse and the prices have gone up substantially. I've been going here for a while. It's not the greatest diner but it was always pretty consistent and the prices were fair. \ The service has gotten worse over the past few years. My brother and I were there finished with our meal, it took 10min to flag down a server and ask for a check. Then we waited 20min more, got up without having received a check and just paid at the counter. More recently I went in with my girlfriend, we were seated and after about 10min with no server coming by or making eye contact even tho we asked for water we just left. Worst part was that we were seated right near the front host/server station. Prices have jumped as of late, not sure why. The food is exactly the same and the service is worse so it's really not worth it anymore. I assume they can do this because they're located right off the highway. read more

My girlfriend and I had been here in the past, and had no troubles or problems, and it had been awhile since we last went here, so we decided to have dinner here. Whoops. We came and it was a little busy, so ok, we came during dinner rush, so we expected a bit of a wait (10-15 minutes). While waiting, a mentally disabled person was running around the place showing everyone his fingernails. I have nothing against the mentally disabled (as I have a slight issue myself), however, if this person was related to ownership/management (which we suspected since he was all over the place), they should have had an idea this guy was going to be like he was, and find something else for him to do, or not be there. Ok, so we get our tables after waiting, and we were asked for drinks, which was given to us promptly, but that was probably the best from our meal. Our server took what seemed like FOREVER (even considering it was busy) before finally asking us what we wanted to eat. Then after that was finally taken care of, it took forever for the food to be made (again, even considering it was busy). I had a burger and onion rings, while my girlfriend had a salad, chicken and mashed potatoes. The burger and chicken were ok, but the onion rings were burnt and skimped on the onion inside of it, and she complained her mashed potatoes didn't seem right. After finishing, we asked for the check, and it took forever for our server to get the check (claiming she told someone to print out the check before getting it herself). What a fantastic little diner. From the moment you pull into the parking lot and see the shining silver car train you feel like you've stepped back in time. We were quickly seated and water and coffee were immediately brought to us. Our server was sweet and friendly and very responsive. My husband had the standard eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and toast. He added on a side of sausage gravy that was one of the highlights of the meal. I ordered the cheesesteak omelet that was out of this world. Helpful hint....add the grilled onions and mushrooms for an even more authentic Philly Cheesesteak experience. I like my coffee iced and they had no problem bringing me a cup of coffee and glass of ice for me to make my own. I left with a smile on my face and a to go box with half my omelet that I can't wait to eat tomorrow morning. The low reviews surprise me. I must say I was wasted when I entered this diner late at night, and was feeling really sick. However, after consuming a huge breakfast at the diner all was well. My service was very good and the waitress was very hot, at least she looked so that night. Their bathrooms were nice and clean, at least until I barfed on the floor of a stall, I hope it was not too hard to clean up. Two of us had lunch here today. My partner has been here several times, raving about it so much that I said we are going today so I can finally try it. We both ordered from the Senior menu which includes entrée, side, soup or salad and several choices for dessert, for not a lot of money. I had the broiled haddock with cup of clam chowder and pickled beets. My partner had the ham loaf, tater tots and chicken rice soup. We both had a scoop of ice cream for dessert. Stopped in for a late lunch; service was quick and waitress was nice. Everything thing else was subpar, to put it nicely. I ordered a bowl of chili topped with cheddar hold the raw onions. Well, it was literally chilly- barely warm, and politely sent it back to be heated. It was returned in the same chipped bowl just slightly above the original lukewarm temperature that the shredded cheese was barely softened. After picking out the raw onions, I dashed it with Tabasco to doctor up the tasteless bowl of dog food and I ate only a few spoonfuls. My guest ordered a chicken salad wrap with a cup of seafood bisque. The pink colored bisque was also served lukewarm and had the consistency of pudding. The chicken salad was a flavorless glob of white mush in a dry wrap Unsure if the fine flakes were even chicken. We shared an order of sweet potato fries. The first few were okay and they soon became a dish full of soggy greasy potatoes sticks. Pretty nice for a diner......was very clean, and the staff was very friendly. Prices are very "diner-esque" and the food was delicious! The main reason for us going on a Wednesday evening is that the kids desperately wanted pancakes for dinner and they serve breakfast all day! I just ordered appetizers (pierogies and onion rings) I did look over their dinner specials and alot of the the meals sounded delicious! After waiting 2 hours to get out of the Hershey Park parking lot following the Bruno Mars concert, the Jersey girl in me was thrilled to see a 24-hour diner. By the time we got there it was about 1:30am and it was packed with other concert goers. I'm sure the locals were not thrilled about it, but what can you do. Despite the crowd, they were still seating people very quickly without a wait. The place was absolutely freezing to the point I went back to my car to get a hoodie. Now onto the food. At that hour, I wasn't quite sure if I was feeling light snack before bed or no-shame greasy goodness, so I decided to go with the Philadelphia chicken salad. Now at first glance that probably sounds like I went with the former, but this had grilled chicken on a bed of lettuce and tomatoes topped with french fries and melted cheese. Whomever came up with this is truly a genius. The french fries made a great topping for the salad and they tasted pretty good with the creamy Italian dressing. We have been eating here since we moved a few months ago and things are usually hot and at least edible. However, this past week we had a very bad experience. Our waiter took himself way too seriously and nearly argued with us. Our bread was stale, there was a strange nutmeg flavor in both the cream of broccoli soup and the mashed potatoes, the gravy was literally "plopped" on my husband's gravy fries, and the broasted chicken was a weird combination of bland, dry, greasy, and undercooked near the bone. Not to mention the broccoli was some kind of weird sickly whitish color? When they asked me how everything was at the counter I told them that it wasn't up to par with other visits and the hostesses just took my money and rang me out. They did not address my comment in any way. Unfortunately, I would not go back. I think this is becoming general knowledge among folks as the last two times I went it was dinner time and the place was empty. Oooh, this place absolutely sucked. I had Eggs Benedict, and I thought I was going to have to eat my eggs with a straw!!! They were just barely poached to a set, very, VERY runny when I cut into them. And the Hollandise was terrible. Even with a liberal dose of Tabasco, it was hard to eat. And the home fries? Absolutely terrible, absolutely no seasoning, no flavor. Again, even with a good salting and splashing of Tabasco, I barely touched them. Now, the burnt English Muffins was the one item that had any taste to it. And you call that coffee? The wife's simple breakfast of bacon and eggs was unimpressive. My French Toast with Strawberries & whipped cream was freaking awesome. I almost licked the plate. The home fries were really good too. My bf had eggs & pancakes. The pancakes are huge. When we went for late night munchies I had some tasty Pierogies with sour cream, an egg, cheese, & tomato sandwich, and sweet cherry pie a la mode. Everything was really tasty. I find the food to be nicely done. We have eaten here for both breakfast and dinner, and both times we enjoyed it. Sunday mornings it is very hard to get a seat though. My husband ordered sausage and eggs, and he was disappointed that the sausage was a greasy round patty when he had been expecting links. Also, the toast that came with his breakfast was disgustingly covered with butter. He had to scrape mounds of butter off his toast because he is too nice to send it back. Service was slow and it took a while to get our food. I ordered a western omelette sub sausage,$1, for ham. No toast, specifying i have an allergy. And a side of hollandaise. When we got our food the first visual was my girls home fries we white. No browning at all. They were repurposed baked potatoes and for all intents and purposes mashed potatoes. Bland. No good. I had shell or something crunchy in my. omelette. The onions were old tasting. The "hollandaise" must have been powdered insta crap. Im pretty sure there was wheat in it too. I reitterate im allergic. Sharon ate that after i tasted it and felt my chest tighten. We never got a refill on our water. The one thing we liked was they had stawberry jam on the table. Thats like catching a leprechaun at our regular digs. I dont recommend trying this place. It was expensive. And, i will take quality over quantity any day.
