My favorites are the seafood tacos (you choose the protein and how you want it prepared), the Atlantic Salmon w/raspberry chipotle sauce and Beau's Salmon Salad. Whether dining in or getting it to go, the quality of the item is always the same. Ordering is done at the front counter. That said if there is open seating at the bar, they will gladly take your order from there. Regardless, the staff is always friendly, and helpful; answering any and all questions. When dining in, they do a good job of checking on the customers, keeping water glasses filled along with offering other beverages (wine and beer are available for purchase).

With several months under their belt in this location I was very disappointed in what I received. Lamb meatballs were fine as well as the Lobster Bisque which most people get, along with the salads we tried and the French onion soup but beyond that, the main courses were woefully underwhelming. Steaks were fine and cooked to temperature but that's it. No seasoning, nothing special, just slapped down in front of you like it came off the grill in the backyard. With prices at the top of Dallas area steakhouses per ounce of meat, I would rather be at one of the other well known spots around town. The lobster tail was absolutely awful. I guess at $60 for a 10oz tail I should have known it was too good to be true. I mean when a 10oz tail is less than their 8oz filet, I really should have passed. The tail was basically not edible. The skin of the tail stuck to the meat making it like chewing wax paper. I was able to cut that part off and eat what was left. Other people had NY strip which was good and the sea bass which was better than the lobster tail. Overall it's a nice quiet romantic place to try out but I'd stick to drinks at the bar and some appetizers. Just my opinion and maybe it was an off night.

At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

I called before deciding where to eat on a Sunday afternoon to confirm parking situations. Parking is not easy downtown so this played a huge factor in figuring where, out of the dozens of brunch places, to eat. Definitely a bit of a walk to get accommodated at the actual restaurant so valet seemed the most reasonably enticing for parking solutions. Well, I called and spoke with the lady at the front desk. I confirmed with this little girl FOUR TIMES IF 1. They had valet available today 2. If it was complimentary. Come to find out it was not complimentary. And $7 for parking just doesn't sit well with me when there are ample free options else where with satisfying beverage, meal, ambiance, and service. All of which, I DID NOT GET AT HAYWIRE. I come in and although I had a reservation that I was 10 minutes early for while noticing tables available, I was told by that same girl who lied to me about parking I needed to take a seat. Reassuring me that it would only take two minutes to be seated. 10 minutes later I see coupled and groups walking in and guess what? They were immediately sat. While I am waiting to be sat at one of the three clean tables I'm staring at. I finally tell my boyfriend I am about to eat at the bar and he goes to the hostess stand to inform them our frustration and guess what? We were sat immediately. I get seated and there are two standing fans placed next to my table that's blowing my hair all over the f*****g place. I had to tell them to turn them off. What? No AC in this place either?? We immediately ordered and got the elk tacos for an appetizer. The tacos are WAY too spicy and way too salty. Too spicy AND too salty?? They're a no for me. You literally can't taste anything because of both! I HATED these little tacos. Probably the worst I've ever had. Ever seen someone attempt to pinch a bit of salt to season and the entire top comes off?? These tacos. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak. He loved it (loves spicy and seasonings because he's Cajun) but I tried it and it was over seasoned. Again? Couldn't taste what I was eating. The mashed potatoes were divine. Enjoyed those! And then the green beans were tasteless. Hahaha what a joke. I ordered the barbacoa chilaquiles and it was literally too spicy to eat. Inedible. You can tell that the restaurant prides itself on excellent hospitality from entering to exiting. The crab cake was so delicious that once it arrived I forgot to take a picture and started eating it immediately It was a nice size and had plenty of crab meat. Whenever I see sea bass on the menu I go for it and the miso-glazed sea bass was delicious. The crab fried rice was a perfect pairing and I really enjoyed the shave vegetables. I ordered the petit sized meal. I love that they offer this so that you have the option to try multiple items or simply don't want leftovers of a dish. For dessert we had the baked Alaska. I heard of the dish but this was my first time trying it and I am in love. I attempted to order it on a cruise and while decent it didn't stand a torch to Trulucks!
