Captain crab is so delicious. I come to this location often since it is the closest one to where I live. I like the Cajun sauce here in comparison to other Cajun spots in the area. The shrimp is delicious and each boil comes with a potato and corn. I complete my seafood with some garlic noodles, sausage, and steamed rice. They have a variety of appetizers to choose from. I drive by this place almost everyday and finally got to try it today. They have a lot of great promos on Instagram too, so check out their page to get all the deals. We came for early dinner on a weekday so the place was nice and empty. There are lots of TVs playing different channels so it would be a good place to hang out and watch sports. The menu is very similar to something like Boiling Crab, so if you're a fan of seafood you'll love this place! I had the calamari and fries. The calamari was really crispy and I liked the cajun sauce that came on the side. I also had a taste of their crab legs and shrimp and both tasted really good even with mild spice. All of the food came out really quickly in less than 20 minutes and everything came fully prepared with lemons, bibs, gloves, and anything you can think of for your seafood bag! I really wanted a seafood boil and after some searching, we found Captain Crab. I saw on their online menu they had a family special but it didn't have a price. Normally when a place doesn't disclose the price, it's super expensive but we called and were pleasantly surprised it was only $60. We ordered over the phone and the person who answered was very patient with my husband who was having a hard time deciding which seafood he wanted in the family deal. We opted for the snow crab legs, headless shrimp ($2 extra charge) and mussels with the Captain Special seasoning at mild spicy. We also got an extra container of the Captain special seasoning at medium spicy and an order of lemon pepper wings. We were told the food would be ready in about 20 minutes and sure enough, everything was bagged and ready to go when we arrived. I appreciate that they included bibs and gloves too. The portion size of the family special was pretty decent for the price. Shrimp were nice and plump and peeled easily, the crab legs were full of meat but I honestly wasn't too much of a fan for the mussels. The mild spicy sauce was very watery, but had good flavor. It wasn't salty to us like other reviews mentioned. The medium spicy sauce was thick and the heat crept up on me but I enjoyed it. We ended up mixing the 2 sauces together and it was perfect. The lemon pepper wings were a little dry, but my son didn't mind and had them finished in no time. Monday, 12/26/2022 - Tried "Captain Crab". Address is 8471 Elk Grove Florin Rd, Elk Grove, CA 95624. This restaurant is located at the corner of Elk Grove Florin Road an be Calvin, in a shopping plaza with Bel Air forget store, Carl's Jr, Togo, Chevron gas, etc. When we arrived, there were lots of parking and not many people eating inside. Pros: 1) One of the hostess, at the front, seated us right away. I saw 2 ladies in the front. 2) our gentleman server was extremely nice and friendly. He smiled while greeting us, patient, and checked on us to make sure we got everything we needed or refills. 3) restaurant looked cleaned. 4) water tasted great. No funky or odd taste in the water. 5) our sea food in the bag tasted great. Crab, shrimps, potatoes, sausages and corn were perfectly cooked. We got the King's Deluxe Boil deal. They provided fork, knives and a separate plate so we can eat on it. There were no crab cracker utensil. But we didn't need it. 6) bathroom was very clean. Cons: 1) when we left, my SO tried to joke with one of the hostess at the front to bring her a smile. She looked so unfriendly. May be a bad night for her or something, but boy was she unsmiling from the beginning when we walked in and when we walked out. I hope whatever is bothering her this night, left her and she's much happier by now. But that is really no way to welcome your customers or say goodbye. Just glad whatever it is, she didn't take it out on the patrons and kept her distance. Conclusion: Besides that sad or unfriendly looking hostess, we liked this restaurant. Our server was great. What put my mind at ease was the fact that the manager had read and responded to every review and took notes on what needed to be improved. We were immediately greeted and the dining room is HUGE. There was plenty of booths and table seating available. They can easily accommodate large parties. We were seated immediately and I have to mention that our server, wasn't friendly and had no personality. It was a bit uncomfortable because she didn't engage whatsoever. My son had eaten here when they first opened and liked it and wanted to take me to lunch here. We got the Deluxe King Boil, it was $78 and it came with a pound of king Crab, half pound of headless shrimp, half pound of sausage, snow crab, potatoes, corn and hard boiled eggs. We also ordered a side of rice. We ordered it Cajun Spicy. The food came out rather quickly and it was Good, I'm glad that it wasn't salty and there was plenty of seafood for the two of us. As a matter of fact, we had a lot of sausage, potato and shrimp left. Our bill came out to $89 after taxes and $110 after tip. I'm giving CC a 3.5 stars. Don't recommend eating here unless you want to be charged more. I went during lunch hour, so it was not busy and it was a party of two. The server greeted us and asked us what drinks we wanted. After about 20 mins and no drinks or our order taken down we asked another server and she took our order down. Then, our original server came out with our drinks, mind you 25 mins later. Our food was taking so long so we asked another server to check our food and when they went to check our original server came out with our food. Once it was time to pay the total came out to around $93. We did not leave a tip after the service being terrible, I made sure to put zero. We paid and left. A couple days later, I get a notification from my bank that I was charged 112 dollars. After adding i realized they added 20% gratuity. I called and they told me they will look into it. After a couple days I called again and the manager asked me if he can just send me the difference through apple pay or venmo. If you are going to eat here make sure to take a receipt with you and double check because they will try to pull one over you and be prepared for terrible service even during low hours. read more

The food was delicious. We ordered the fried mushrooms (cooked fresh) for our appetizer. For our meal, we ordered a side of rice. Our main was the Captain Special Boil 1/2 Ib snow crab, 1/2 Ib headless shrimp, 1 pc.lobster tail, one potato, one corn and one egg. Everything was great but again because we came in on the later side, they decided to start cleaning up. Which was ok but if they decided to start cleaning, clean on the other side where there's no customers. They decided to mop the floor where we were seated. Unfortunately, we weren't done eating and then to smell the chemicals just turned us off. Now you're smelling the bathroom smell as well as trying to finish eating. Upon entering this afternoon, noone had greeted us, there was no hostess up front to seat customers. Where did everybody go? Finally, someone came out and sat us. The Arden location seafood boil was just too salty! I thought maybe this location would make it with less salt, was I wrong! Still made too salty! I had ordered 1lb crawfish (frozen), 1/2lb shrimp with heads, and 1/2ld green mussels in the "All the above" seasoning. Maybe it's the seasoning that I've picked that was too salty? Don't get me wrong, the flavors were all there, it tasted good, but it was just over salted, makes it hard to actually taste the seafood.
