Sampled this restaurant since the main one we go to was closed, let me break down what we sampled and how it all faired. We were able to get 2lb of the shrimp with lemon pepper seasoning at medium heat, you can ask for the heads off but not the shell at this restaurant. The bag comes with potatoes, corn and shrimp, sadly the flavor was not there, after eating about 6 pieces of shrimp 1 potato and 1 piece of corn felt the seasoning did not penetrate enough to get into the meat of the shrimp, potato or the corn. the shrimp was decently prepped but the flavoring even when sitting in all that seasoning again did not come thru We also ordered lobster tails the charge per tail here, we sampled 4 with cajun seasoning with medium heat, the bag came again with potatoes, corn and the tails, again sadly the seasoning did not penetrate the meat, I do like that they slice the tail down the middle for easier access but again flavor wise it was not there. kids sampled the chicken tenders with fries, one regular the other cajun fries, chicken tenders were sadly dry inside, piping hot but not juicy, the cajun fries were good seasoned well, regular fries were just ok deep fried pickles we did sample thin sliced, overseasoned with a dip, to share with a group this would be good not just for one person I read several of the reviews before coming here sadly I will have to pass on this spot for future dining food ** where is the seasoning??? price $$$ lobster tails are charged per tail service **** very helpful staff ambiance **** very clean and well lit, sport channels on the walls, light music playing in the background read more

3 star because the food wasn't too bad. Surprised it wasn't busy during dinner time on a Friday night during lent season. My reason for lower stars is because although we were seated right away, our server took a long time getting to us and taking our order as well as bringing our order. So many other tables that were sat after us (we were only a group of 4) were served and left long before we even got our food. Newish place in Elk Grove - I've seen a couple others in the Sacramento area, but never had the chance to go, so I took this chance to give it a try. I love seafood! So far, I have mixed feelings, but there's a lot to explore on the menu and I will be back to try out other things for sure. I definitely need to try one or more of the boils in the future. This first visit, I tried the popcorn crawfish because I love crawfish but have never had it prepared that way. I fully intended to have fried oysters until I saw the popcorn crawfish on the menu. It was good, but definitely could have been better, IMO. The crawfish itself was on the bland side for my taste. It didn't automatically come with any sort of sauce... but I was asked if I wanted some. I asked for tartar sauce, which seemed on the bland side as well - mostly mayo with just hints of pickle relish and/or any sort of herbs. I also had the Captain Shrimp Po' Boy. I liked the Po' Boy - it had a great bun, but was light on lettuce, IMO. Very light... not a huge deal, just an observation. The shrimp had good flavor... but I will admit I didn't know what I was ordering when I asked for the Captain Shrimp version. Captain Shrimp is not fried as far as I can tell... so it'd be a good option for someone wanting to avoid fried. I'm guessing it's either grilled or sauteed... it was dusted with seasoning and had good flavor. Next time I get a po' boy, I plan to try one of the other options. The fries that came with the po' boy were good, but plain and I was expecting Cajun. It took me a little bit to figure that out... and I realized it was at least partially my fault that I got regular instead of Cajun. Looking at the menu, I discovered the grammar used to describe the options for fries varies on different parts of the menu! Grammar is important! In the po' boy portion of the menu, it says "Regular Cajun or Sweet Potato Fries ($1 extra)" - no comma between Regular and Cajun. To be clear... they offer three different types of fries - Regular, Cajun and Sweet Potato. You're welcome! Customer service was great. The food was okay. Cajun fries tasted like regular fries. No seasoning whatsoever even though it looks coated with it. Hush puppies were extremely dry. Fried pickles was a hit though. The seafood boil sauce was extremely watery and SALTY. The 1lb of mussels I order separately was supposedly be the same spice level and sauce as the 1/2lb crab 1/2lb shrimp combo, but it tasted completely different, so I know they messed that up. Although boiling bag seafood is not something I like, the food was good. The technique invariably leaves the shellfish and crawdads overcooked. I am thoroughly spoiled by East Coast crab shacks and San Francisco spots. I couldn't take pictures during the meal because my hands were too greasy from the seasoning to touch my phone. They provided silverware, scissors, crab cracker pliers, bibs, picks, and plastic gloves. The gloves are flimsy and over large. I took them off in short order. There are napkins at the table but not large enough nor absorbent enough to be of much use. Prices are reasonable for a seafood restaurant 100 miles from the nearest ocean. There is a choice of the type of crab. Sadly, Blue crab was not in season. Not Maryland Blue crab if that is your hope. Two types of mussels which made me happy. Crawdads and shrimp. You can get boiled shrimp with or without the head. There is also fried shrimp. The very best thing about this restaurant is the staff. The shrimp was already deveined down the back so it was very easy to peel the shell off. The snow crab legs were ok, it didn't really taste like anything and was hard to crack. The corn was the frozen kind but it was still good when soaked in the seasoning. They use normal eggs and not quail eggs. The egg was very overcooked so it wasn't very enjoyable. The sausage is tasty, and they give an overwhelming amount. But overall I don't think this combo is worth it unless there is a special, since you don't get much seafood. The service was good. Had dinner there tonight for the first time, and I was extremely pleased. I will go there again and again. The restaurant was clean and the hostess was extremely friendly. Loved the ambiance in the place. We were seated right away, and the waitress explained the various menus to us. We did not have to wait long for our appetizers and drinks to be served. We love the Captain Crab in Sacramento but we wanted to try this location as we were in the vicinity this day. We dined in on a Thursday night and it wasn't too busy. We were seated straight away and our server came to assist. We ordered our dishes and waited about 30 minutes for our order to come up. The appetizer came with our actual seafood boil. Okay no problem. We ordered about 10lbs of seafood and right off bat I noticed our bags were lacking on the sauce. For some reason, it tastes better when you order it through doordash rather than eating it in person. Or maybe I just catch them on a better day whenever I order delivery. The deals are worth it. It's a bit on the pricier side but it fulfills your cravings whenever crawfish is needed. Whenever I ordered delivery, the crawfish are large and filling. It was basically a crab lover's plater. Lol the Cajun sauce was tastyyyyy but kind of salty. We went with the extra hot spice level and it was good, had a nice kick but was pretty weak compared to other restaurants. Aside from the seafood, we had a fair amount of corn, potatoes and eggs. The sausage portion was abundant. That could've been a meal of its own with rice. Lol The noodles were also good, just wish it was a larger portion. My review is strictly a take-out experience. Whenever I'm craving seafood boil I always get it from here since it's close to my house and I can always get it within 20 minutes after calling in. I saw they had Dungeness crab legs, but no whole Dungeness crab so I asked the waitress about it, and she said that even tho it's advertised as just the legs it also comes with part of the body attached too, so she said if you're ordering the full pound you're still basically getting the entire Dungeness crab, just not that top shell part that has all the funky good stuff in it, which was just slightly disappointing, but was still good enough for me lol. I ordered a pound of Dungeness crab legs (Captain Special seasoning & extra hot) which already comes with a potato and corn, steamed rice, and Cajun fries. The Captain Special seasoning was good! It combines all the flavors. It was a little salty for me, but I mean I still enjoyed it and finished it lol. Eating it with the rice helped. I didn't think it was spicy at all, but nothing to really get upset about tbh. Cajun fries were solid and had a great crunch and texture. When the bill came we asked if we were able to get separate checks, which she was able to provide no problem, which is AWESOME, since I know some places don't do that at all lol.
