We came for lunch and were sat by the pool that they have on the middle and I was very nice. The service was fast and very friendly, everyone from the manager to the runner! Very attentive and nice. Booked a reservation here for 7 for brunch - beautiful place and the ambiance was top tier. We got seated right away. Everything we ordered was tasty, but our personal favorites have to be the truffle fries and the chicken shawarma. For dessert. we got the hot sticky toffee pudding and it was to die for - perfectly warm and crunchy on the outside. I got my steak cooked medium rare - the pieces were tender and the chimichurri added a delicious flavor. Since it came pre-sliced, it was super convenient to eat. Located near Los Feliz area, Cara Restaurant is located inside of Cara Hotel. There is only valet option at the hotel for $13 (additional $1 for credit card payment). I was able to find street parking nearby (metered parking is free on Sundays) but you can also park at the Ralphs parking lot structure nearby for free. Beautiful setting -- just lovely on a nice evening. Great place to have some drinks and bites. I had a mock tail that was well made -- nice balance across sweet and tart. And beautifully presented with an orchid. We tried a variety of starters which were all good: ceviche, prosciutto burrata, salad. I had the little gem salad with chicken and the chicken was nicely browned and still moist!! My friends had lamb, pasta, steak and were all pleased. The desserts were also good with the toffee one coming in a cast iron skillet and being the highlight. I love coming to Cara. I've been so many times and the food is always consistently good. I've come solo as well in groups and have never had an issue where food needed to be sent back or was missed. The lighting around the (outdoor) restaurant and pool creates a beautiful ambiance. Arugula salad has to be ordered EVERYTIME. It is sharable but I also order it for 1. :) It's that good. After seeing this place all over TikTok, my friend, and I were able to make last-minute reservations for brunch. Trying to find parking was horrible. I went around the block multiple times trying to avoid a valet fee but was unable to find a parking spot so unfortunately I was forced to valet for $14. After a short wait for our table, the host took us out and offered us a pool side table. It was a small table with two lounge chairs. We told him we were looking to have a meal so we would prefer a regular table and he happily took us to a table in the back. This, however, was not a problem as the atmosphere was still lovely. We started by sharing the burrata and prosciutto appetizer with sourdough toast. This was delicious, I highly recommend. For an entrée I ordered the salmon eggs Benedict. I really enjoyed my entrée. However, my friend ordered the lemon pasta which we saw was one of the top rated items on Yelp and she was very disappointed. it was very plain and I told her it tasted almost like buttered noodles. You would serve a child. After our entrées, we each ordered an espresso martini to cap off the meal. It was a very long way. However, once we finally received them, they were delicious. One of the best that I have had in LA. The service was very slow for the duration of our visit. Normally I would not complain about small things, such as clearing our dishes before bringing out the next course, However, when your bill is nearly $200, I would assume the service would be a bit better. Great for group gatherings! I had been here once before but had no occasion to actually eat at the restaurant. Since it blew up on insta, it became the place of choice for my friend's birthday celebration, and it was a memorable choice. At least half your party needs to be there to be seated. Parking is valet for $13. There is an automatic 20% service charge for groups, so you don't have to worry about separately tipping. The food itself is nothing amazing, and the portions are pretty small. I wouldn't come here planning to get stuffed unless you're willing to spend a pretty penny. I personally am here for it and was willing to splurge to try a variety of items! My favorite was the beet and grapefruit salad...it was fresh and full of delightful flavors. That being said, unfortunately our entrées took like 45 minutes to come, and in that entire time we saw our waiter once and just to bring a drink... no updates on the food or anything. My husband said his ribeye was very good too. We also kind of combined two appetizers and got the burrata with roasted peppers and sourdough... meh, nothing special about this and also could use a little acid. Also needed more sourdough to the ratio of cheese and peppers. The butterscotch pot de creme was one of the best desserts I've ever had. Outdoor restaurant: thank goodness for outdoor heaters because it was around 50 degrees but the place was still cozy. On to food and drinks: the drinks and food are pricy but very delicious! I got Cara's version of a Paloma which was garnished with a sprig of rosemary. I also ordered the lemon pasta with aged Parmesan (43 yrs old to be exact LOL). Located on a very unlikely stretch of Western Avenue (north of Hollywood Boulevard) is a tiny u-shaped boutique hotel (also called Cara). Inside the "u" is Cara (the restaurant). Absolutely one of the prettiest spots in town with tables around a serene pool. Perfect for locals or visitors if you're on the east side of town. On my most recent visit, tourists from South Korea spilled out of several rooms. When did eating out get so expensive? I'm over the sticker shock post-pandemic, but let's face facts that lunch for two is going to be $100. That is crazy expensive, but I'm paying the same at places not much more than fast food. And Cara is beautiful. Food is a hit here. Omelettes and french toast for breakfast, and the Cara cheeseburger or pasta for lunch. My server was so awesome; I swore I would not forget her name and of course I did. When I learned that they don't serve Coke (they serve some artisanal cola, who needs that?), and was sad, she hunted around the employee area and found me a cold can -- on the house! They came by to take our drink orders and then disappeared for quite some time. Once our waiter finally appeared again and took our food orders, it took not too long to receive our appetizers. However, we still had not received our drinks other than water. We had to remind the waiter and eventually got the cocktails. The time it took from when we finished our appetizers to when we received our entrees was a ridiculous amount of time.... it took so long my husband took a walk around the restaurant/hotel and when he returned our food was still not at our table. Though, they had cleaned up our appetizers. Eventually after patiently waiting we received our food.... our dishes were cold as if they had been sitting out and someone forgot to bring them to our table for some time. It had been too long of a wait, so we didn't find a point in telling them this complaint and waiting even longer, so we went on eating our cold food. Noteworthy food? Nope. Our lamb chops were cold, so I can't say much about them. The endive salad was lovely though, I think that was the only dish that I actually liked amongst any of the appetizers and entrees we ordered. BASICALLY, food was meh, and service was SLOOOOW. Our cousin raved about the food here prior to coming and we were very impressed with how beautiful the restaurant was once we arrived. It was an usually chilly day in LA when we came to visit but the patio area was still warm and pleasant due to heaters which was very nice! Unfortunately I feel like this is restaurant is strictly for pictures and aesthetic purposes instead of good food. Came here for my graduation ceremony celebration and the vibes were great ! I love the aesthetics of this place, it made me feel like I was in Miami of Cancun. The service was a bit slow here (ie. got our drinks after our appetizer and entrées were served, it was very hot that day and had a hard time getting a waiter to get us water). They made up for it by providing another side courtesy of the chef, which was nice. Yucatean Ceviche - So refreshing ! It was a little on the sour side, I think there was just a bit too much lime. Lemon Pasta - Delicious ! The lemon sauce was very refreshing and the cheese complimented it very well. Steak Sandwich - Amazing ! Probably the best menu on the item that we tried here. Roasted Scottish Salmon - Least recommend. It came out undercooked in the center and when we told our waitress and got a redone one, it was still undercooked in the center. Not sure if that's how this dish is suppose to be, but wouldn't get it again. Charcoal Grilled Organic Maitake Mushroom - This side dish was really good, I liked the seasoning flavor. Fried Shishito Peppers - This was a side to have, courtesy of the chef (: 3 Flavors of Sorbet (Mango, Blood Orange, Passion Fruit) - The flavors were so refreshing and perfect after how hot it was that day. Mimosas - The passion fruit one was so delicious - probs my fave out of all the ones ! The pomegranate and classic were still good too, but the passion fruit hit the spot. read more

10/10! I loved everything about this place! First, the ambiance takes you far away from LA like you're in a resort, I love how upscale and clean everything is. The staff is also amazing; from the valet to Hannah at the bar to Leal our waitress. I wanted to personally thank Leal for making the experience ten times better; she was so kind and patient, had the best suggestions and maintained a positive attitude the entire evening. She also made amazing suggestions, which leads me to the food. Everything was fresh and full of flavor; I feel the truffle parp needs something extra as it's a little blah but still tasty. The valet is 15$ (no cash) and there limited street parking (metered). I'd say it's great for adults, not so much for kids. I will definitely be back! read more

The restaurant is super cute. The mood is amazing and perfect for a date night. It felt like i was in a foreign country. The food was average. Lemon pasta was grest with deep flavor of cheese. There were chunks of salt here and there that didnt fully dissolve. Rib eye was good too. The only downside was that it had too much fat. Brussel sprouts were solid. The waiter mixed up our orders, but we ended up getting extra food and drinks. read more
