So I went there this morning as I always do at least three or four times a week. Normally there's a nice lady in there very sweet and attentive to their customers. this morning It was a new lady in there that I've never seen. I walk in. She's riding on the board. She makes me stand there for five minutes and then when I question her about making me stand there for five minutes while she writes on the board she says I said good morning. I'll be there in a second. Well after five minutes and it's morning rush I got upset. She still didn't help me. She went to the window and started helping the other people and then once she helped the other people, she said, I refuse your service to me. Then she starts acting like the victim. I don't know who this lady is. She said she's the manager. She wouldn't give me the district manager's name. She wouldn't give me the manager the store's name. I think she should be fired. This is by far, the worst Carl's Jr. we have ever been to. Our food was not eatable. The onion rings were ever so cold and stale and the burgers were burnt beyond well done. We used the drive thru and had to go through it twice. The first order was clearly not ours. We took our food home and it was just horrible. The place itself is a mess. We have been inside more than once. It is never clean and the homeless make themselves at home asking people for money--never food--just money. The trash cans are over flowing. The service is okay, I guess. They are not friendly and they got our order wrong. Our burgers were really not something anyone would eat. I have frequented this fast food restaurant for many years. Today, I saw that the menu has changed. I ordered a chicken sandwich. Instead of the sandwich containing chicken, incredibly, the sandwich did contain chicken; HOWEVER, the sandwich contained almost an eighth of a pint of mayonnaise spread onto the chicken. Worse, however, is the fact that the chicken was also covered with cooked bacon, which (to those who avoid bacon) caused the taste of the chicken to be lost by the strong flavor of the bacon. I cannot imagine why the cooks at Carl's would combine chicken with pork (bacon). Needless to say, I am disappointed with my order. Incidentally, the prices of the chicken sandwich at Carl's increased about 20% since last year. This Carl's is pretty good. We had to go through the drive thru, which I don't like because the inside was closed. I consider that just lazy. But the food was very good, just as I expected. Dude came in w/o mask and pretty much announce his position to the rest of us and demanded service. I've been a loyal Carl's Jr. customer since 1970. In fact, I even worked at a branch in Fullerton, CA. Many things in that company have changed over the last 50+ years. Yesterday, at the Culver City location on Sepulveda and Venice, I had the absolute best burger that I can remember--ever! Imagine in these times a Super Star combo, not just the burger, but burger fries and a drink, for $7.99. That's a half pound cheeseburger meal for 8 bucks! Amazing!! But I'm telling you that it was also a burger made to perfection. It was picture-worthy, so perfectly put together, neatly wrapped, made the way that I asked for it burger, that it could have been in a commercial. It was fresh, hot, and juicy. The fixins were evenly placed on the bun and were fresh and tasty. The meat had the old style char flavor. It was hamburger heaven . The servers were happy and friendly, and the dining area was kept clean. As I'm writing this, I'm fantasizing about going back today for another one. Sadly, today's experience was one of the most dysfunctional fast food ordering experiences of my life thus far. My husband and I placed an order for this Carl's Jr. location through their website for pick-up. When we entered the drive-thru, the employee told us there was some "confusion" about our order and they needed us to come inside to clarify. My husband parked and went inside, explained the order as entered, and then he was instructed to go back to the car where they would bring our food to us. We then waited in the car for roughly 15 minutes before anyone came. When we arrived home, our order was still wrong. For example, I had ordered one of their burgers vegetarian (replace meat patty with Beyond patty and no bacon). But they ended up adding bacon and removing the cheese instead. Therefore, I had to remove the bacon myself and had a burger without the cheese I wanted. My husband's Steakhouse Angus Burger was also missing the cheese. We also asked for both ranch and honey mustard dipping sauces but received neither. I understand that sometimes orders can take longer than expected but there is no excuse when we entered the order ourselves online, had to come inside to clarify the order, and then had to wait ANOTHER 15 minutes for the food (and they STILL got the order wrong). FYI -- this was our "complicated order": -1 Bacon Western Cheese Burger, Beyond Patty, No Bacon -1 Steakhouse Angus Thick Burger -1 Kids Meal -2 Fried Zucchinis -1 Criss cut Fries -2 Coke Zeros Carl's Jr. is one of the few Fast Food places around with decent vegetarian and vegan options. I'm not strictly vegetarian, so I still ate the burger and gave my family the bacon, but this would be a huge issue for someone who is more strictly vegetarian/vegan and is completely unacceptable. My kids & I had the worst fast food experience ever at this Carls Jr within the last 3 visits. Today was the worst!!! I asked for 2 orders of fried zucchini w/my order, they gave me 1 order of onion rings but charged me for 2 orders onion rings. Also, the machine to swipe cards wasn't working at the drive thru so it took awhile for the guy to swipe my card constantly when I paid for my order. They had to go back and make the sandwich over because it wasn't toasted well and it was soggy. The rest of my order was cold including the french fries by the time they redid the other sandwich. The only thing that was edible was the diet Coke and you don't eat a Diet Coke. I called to let them know and when the person asked me what I wanted I said that I felt I should be given a credit. He hung up on me. I called back and they did not answer the phone. They don't care about their customers and they don't care about making things right. It's the last time I will go there and I recommend that nobody else go to the Carl's junior on Sepulveda in Culver City. Shame on you Carls Jr people. This was our first time visiting a Carl's Jr. We ordered two Vegan Beyond Burgers and an order of fries. The burgers were excellent!! I ordered mine with their usual toppings, minus the cheese and added on some guacamole, jalapeños, ketchup and mustard. What an great deal! I believe the burger was under six dollars and the guacamole was under a dollar. The ingredients in their guac were avocado, tomato and onion. BTW, Whole Foods serves up Beyond Burgers for eleven dollars and if you're thinking of adding any avocado or guacamole it's another couple of dollars. Fries are extra. No thank you. Instead of spending around $20 for a small sized, fast food burger, avo and fries, I'd rather make a tastier B.B. at home. I'm confused about all the bad reviews for this Carl's Jr? The employees were really hospitable, they went out of their way to be helpful, the restaurant was immaculate, they have comfy booths, and we loved our burgers. I don't know who is at fault here. Is it Carl's Jr. or Grub Hub or Yelp? When you attempt to do a takeout order, the optional upgrade to medium or large for many of the meals, is "required". That means that the price they're quoting is wrong because it's impossible to get the meal at that price. I just arbitrarily picked a different location and the problem is still there so it's not the fault of the Sepulveda location. read more

BEYOND FAMOUS STAR WITH CHEESE (4/5) This burger tastes like a McRib, I started to ponder whether or not McDonalds patty's even has meat in them after this experience. I recommend it, at least for the novelty factor. Criss-cut Fries (4/5) Solid, criss-cut fries. Crunchy exterior, with a flavor oil, and savory seasoning. Why only a 3 stars? Well... In terms of burgers, they'll never match Umami, or the Counter, just doesn't have the OOMPH that these other chains have, doesn't pack the same type of punch. While the items I've tried are notable, realistically speaking, these burgers are hardly gourmet, but that being said, I still recommend the two items I've tried for the reasons listed. read more

This is a good Carl's Jr location. I have been to so many on the westside of Los Angeles and this is the location I choose the most. It's clean and run very well. I would like to mention one of the managers at this location and his name is Frank. I have got to know Frank over the years here and I can tell you he does a wonderful job running this place in the evenings. He keeps the place very clean, the lines and the drive thru moving and he does a wonderful job interacting with the customers. I have even seem him deal with the rowdy late nite crowd and homeless people very well. He is very nice to my older mother and we have become kind of friends over the years. Via email, I received a coupon for 2 Western Bacon Cheeseburgers for $6. The coupon had a 5-digit code and stated, "Print or show at checkout to redeem." When I placed the order at the restaurant, I showed them the email with the 5-digit coupon code, and they refused to accept the coupon. I was told that the manager instructed them not to accept the coupon unless it was printed out. I said that I had visited this store many times in the past and was able to just show my coupon via email, but they still refused, stating that they want to prevent people from just finding coupons on the internet. I said that the logic made no sense because if someone finds a coupon on the internet, they could simply print it out. In any case, they simply refused to accept the coupon.
