Obsessed with the string lights, the fountain, and the overall atmosphere. You somehow don't even realize you're in the middle of Seattle when you're here. The menu has so many options which made it so hard to choose, but I ended up going with the Fettucini ai Fungh - fresh fettuccini pasta with wild mushrooms served in a light cream sauce topped with truffle oil, and I also added chicken. When I say this is probably my FAVORITE pasta I've had in Seattle, I'm not kidding... I almost cleared my plate which is hard for me as my eyes are always bigger than my stomach, but I made it happen! The cream sauce was rich but not too heavy, and the truffle oil was prominent without being crazy overpowering. 10/10 absolutely no notes. We made a reservation and drove over from the eastern side of Washington. The host was wonderful, very quick to greet and seat us. It took a few minutes for our server to greet us, by the time he came, we knew what we wanted to drink, have as an appetizer and for dinner. We offered to have him just grab drinks and apps or if he wanted we could order the flight at the same time. He ordered it all and walked away. 15 minutes goes by and no drinks. Appetizers come out and still no drinks. We turn around and he's watching tv. We reached out and asked if we could get our drinks, he apologized and grabbed them quickly. Beets and garlic bread were delicious our glasses were empty and server no where in sight to refill. Dinner comes out, pasta flight was delicious, meatballs needed more seasoning even if it was just salt - no one really wanted to reach for the last one. Drink cups were still empty and we couldn't grab anyone or our server to refill for a bit. Finally a gentleman from the bar walked by and we asked "are you able to refill or do we need to wait for Sam" he said "you're killing me" then sighed and grabbed the glasses. We all stared at him and apologized and said we could wait for our server and he tried to brush it off and say no no it's ok he can do it. We felt like we were a nuisance and put a sour taste in our mouth for the remainder of dinner. We finished with the lemon sorbet, it was ok but not our favorite dessert. Bill was just shy of $300 for 4 sodas, garlic bread, beets(unique flavor), flight of pasta with grilled chicken and meatballs, and 2 sorbets. Around $50 of that was the auto gratuity to the server. I have been a server, the service we received was not worth the $50 auto gratuity. We understand the desire to pay the server a higher wage but the reason we come out vs picking up is to be served & the experience. We unfortunately didn't feel great about the experience. Suggestions: Larger drink glasses, more servers, or a drink server who walks table to table helping refill drinks/push drink sales if your server isn't able to. We were about a month out from the date we made our reservation - expect similar, though do check in for cancellations, and know that the bar does full menu service as well. Greeters and waitstaff were kind and complete the welcoming vibe through the whole service. Start with some specialty cocktails, or a selection from a decent wine list, and have at the menu. Indicate your interests to the waitstaff and they will help you program your meal service. Family-style works great here and the 4 of us split focaccia, charcuterie and a kale salad, split two pastas for primi, two entrees for secondi, and two deserts. The focaccia was studded with dark cherries and was a nice change. The kale salad was a huge hit, with ceasar-like dressing and almost a granola of seeds and fried capers tossed in. The summer cavatelli special was like a walk through a garden, very fresh and light. The tagliatelle is iconic, for good reason. We did a double-cut bone-in rib-eye that was prepared, paraded thru the dining room, and then carved for sharing. The king salmon was very fresh, but none of us were a fan of the braised bitter greens and leeks that accompanied it - skip this in favor of king elsewhere. As for desert - while the chocolate torte and tiramisu had great flavor, we all agreed the preoccupation with cocoa nibs was distracting to the mouthfeel of both dishes. If I had it to do over, I'd probably do more small plates and wrapping up with pasta and doing desert elsewhere. BUT gorgeous experience, on a gorgeous summer evening and still very glad we went!
