Definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Menifee. I am here almost every time I visit my family in the area. Great flavor on the food, consistent quality and great prices as well. I was expecting something better, however the food isn't bad at all. The menu has a big selection of Mexican food at affordable prices. The place is really packed so do expect it to be kinda noisy. Some of the people there are kinda annoying by just hearing them complain about everything, however I just ignore them as much as possible and keep to myself. The service can be a little better if there was more staff to give extra help. There is a big burrito on the menu that is so big that it is almost impossible to eat it all at once. Casual atmosphere, it's a little loud and definitely a "mom and pop" atmosphere. There is usually a wait in this "sign in and take a seat" restaurant. The wait staff is very attentivve, though and the food is really good. I recommend the crunchy ground beef tacos and the french toast combo. My husband always get the bean, rice and cheese burrito with green sauce. Complimentary chips and salsa are served for lunch and dinner. Portions are on the large side. read more

This place never disappoints. I've said it before concerning wait times, yes on busy days some times there is a long wait, but with how good the food is its worth the wait. The food is delicious no matter if you are coming in for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The prices are average and the servers are always kind and friendly. The drinks are good...especially if you are coming in for their special drinks (ex: horchata or my personal favorite the orange cream drink). Couldn't read the menu online very well, so we went in to place an order to go. We walked in and waited by the hostess stand.... and waited and waited. We eat here all the time it one of my most favorite Mexican places, however last night was a terrible. A server by the name of Poloma helped us. She literally just stopped serving us after taking or order. I never saw her again. I saw all the other servers working but her. It was not that busy it was only 5pm. After seeing my food In the window for approximately 15 mins I asked another server may I please have my order it's been sitting there for over 15 minutes. The server was polite and served us our burritos. Once completed and waiting for our check I seen our serve walk but by but yet still not acknowledge us. I decided to go to the cashier ask for my check, a box and the manger. When the manager appears it none else then my server. I explain my frustration of her leaving and not returning or delivering my food. The sever argued stating she went on a break and let us know. She did no such thing. I'm sorry so you just leave your customer for a break, don't get your table covered, don't apologize that my food sat for 15 mins till I ask for it. While on my quest to find a really great Taco Tuesday place I decided to check it out. I ordered 2 crispy Chicken Tacos. While waiting you can help yourself to the Chips and salsa bar which is the only plus here. My friend ordered the Tostada. They offer a small discount on apps for Taco Tuesday but I still found it to be a bit overpriced. My chicken tacos were very dry, almost unedible, had it not been for the extra salsa I had from the salsa bar I would have not eaten them at all. The beans are not good. They are whole pinto with no flavor unfortunately. The tacos are a good size for the price so it was disappointing. On to the next adventure. read more

The food was good, however the service needs improvement. We came in about 8:30pm I had no idea they closed at 9pm. At exactly 9pm I ordered a second margarita from the server and was informed they closed at 9pm. It would have been nice to have been asked before closing if we would like to order anything else before closing. I expressed my concern to the manager and he could care less! My family used to love this place. However, once the new owners took over they not only changed the menu for the worse but they also changed some of the recipes. I have been coming here for years. The food is good, but choose wisely if your expectations are authentic. The Mexican food is all really good but the American portion can be dull, but after all you are choosing a Mexican restaurant They have daily specials and a full bar. The service is by far the bogged down fall. Don't get me wrong there are some fantastic servers, don't have to ask for refills, fast and friendly, other days you will be waiting 20 minutes just to get someone to come take your order. They have live music and karaoke some days which can be pretty fun, usually an older crowd. On the weekends they have delicious mermosa's at only 5 bucks a pop they are very generous with the champagne Carnitas is definitely a restaurant I will continue to visit. read more

I have been going to Carnitas for over 14 years. The quality of food has changed over the years and not always for the better. The salsa and chips are my favorite. One of my favorite things about Carnitas is the waitstaff, we have been eating there so long that we feel like they are family. I usually order the shredded beef tacos and they are greasy however they taste great. I use to order the fajitas but the last few times they seem to be dry and they don't have any flavor. My co worker had told me about this place and how delicious there food is. He said that they had a breakfast burrito that has sausage bacon and potatoes. He placed the order over the phone and was quoted a price of $9. He hung up the phone and stated that something is wrong with the guy that took my order. There is no way that can cost that much. So instead of having him cancel my order. I went ahead with having him pick up our lunch. all the while thinking it will be a big burrito for that price and taste really really good. He gets back with the ]burrito and it looks like a $5 dollar burrito. It wasn't that great tasting either. Lesson learned. I will never order a breakfast burrito from this place. read more

I love this place! Excellent food and very friendly waiter's/waitresses. I do feel that the decor is a bit out dated and cheesy but I am more than willing to look past that because the food is fantastic. I usually try out a feel different things but my favorite is the burrito! It's so big that I usually take half of it home for dinner or lunch the next day.
