We stayed at POD51 across the street and found this gem! A small urban park with a lovely waterfall feature. Carol's classic western omelette breakfast with a smoothie was great and inexpensive!

Incredible! Tucked away, with a beautiful waterfall and quaint seating, Carol's is a hidden gem! The food is so reasonable and absolutely delicious. Went for Essa-Bagel and the line was too long. Walked a half a block and got better food for cheaper! Absolutely will be coming here again.

Waterfall on the back wall of the park.

Unexpected gem in a park-like setting. The only thing visible from the street is the sandwich board. the food was good quality, amazing because it was produced in a space the size of a walk-in closet

Awesome little spot in the city. Little window serving up big flavors. We went in the pouring rain and still had a great time. It's a little slow serving but totally a cool experience. I recommend it in a nice day.

Location was wonderful. The guy behind the register just ignored me for 20 minutes while getting other orders ready. I was the only one in line. He didn't even say that I will be with you in a minute. He could have easily wrote my order down...so that I could sit with my wife and enjoy the scenery while waiting. When I finally got my order...it was missing 1 of the 2 sausages and I got no toast that it was supposed to come with. No napkins, ketchup or syrup were given to me. This guy pissed me off first thing in the morning. I expected faster and better service from a New Yorker. Coffee was great. Meal was less than average.

I enjoyed not hear any of the street traffic. I like its own little waterfall and the croissant sandwiches.

Delicious and reasonably priced food. Set hidden away next to a waterfall. What a great way to escape from the cities hustle and bustle.

Love Carols cafe. The hours and what they have seem to always change but it's so nice and cute in the outdoor area and prices are good!

Found this because we didn't want to wait in line for a bagel around the corner, we were happy to discover this little oasis in the city.

Nice location. Coffee was good, croissant was hard but buttery. Service was unfriendly but maybe that's just a NY thing.

BUT, my husband and I recently took a trip to Paris and I also love pain aux raisins. To our delight, Cafe Bilboquet has those too, so my friend and I each had a small coffee and a pain aux raisins. The pastry was as good as any that my husband and I had in Paris! I've also had lunch here with a couple of other friends in recent months. They have a good variety of pretty authentic French sandwiches and some quiches, eggs, etc. Not inexpensive, but the food is top-notch. You order at the counter, then move up to the cashier, tell them what your order is and pay for it. If you're lucky, as we were around 9:45 this morning, you'll get one of the little round tables where you can sit and chat and relax; in good weather there are some tables outside as well; a lovely boulangerie or patisserie experience!

Upon getting closer to the door, I learned it's part of Le Bilboquet restaurant on the same block. It wasn't too crowded when I visited on a Tuesday mid-afternoon. Every table except 1 was full, but most people were heading outside on such a beautiful day with their drinks and pastries. The cafe is very cute and French. They have so many pastries I couldn't decide, so I ordered a pain au chocolat and tea. They serve Harney & Sons teas. This is a lovely spot, and I'll return to try more.

We started with a bottle of the Alsace wine, which perfectly complemented our food and the Parisian vibe. I opted for the omelette with Gruyère which was delicious, although I found myself very full by the end, as it came with two sides. The fries were a must-have -- so crispy, salty & fresh. I'd recommend that at least one person at the table order them, but the portion is pretty generous. :) The service was nice, albeit a bit slow at times. However, the staff was friendly and the overall atmosphere is chill -- we weren't in a rush at all! Sitting at a booth in the back, we had the perfect atmosphere to relax and enjoy our meal, making for a lovely brunch with friends or family.
