Update 6/3/21 I heard from the email address 10 days ago. They asked me to describe what happened. I did. Ironically, they have not responded since. Not surprised. As much as I like the sales department. The service department has not been as spectacular. I turn in my touring model car to receive a base model Impreza. By base model, I mean bare bones. Worse of all it was very clear that this car was not cleaned and sanitized after the last use. During this pandemic there was absolutely NO precautions taken and Jake did not care that i found it sub par. I typically deal with Eric G. In his absence I was sent to Jake. Jake did not flinch when I told him that the vehicle was unacceptable and just handed me my paperwork. I may buy vehicles here but I may never use this service department again if this is the new standard. ****update*** issue is not resolved and while I had to top off the loaner with gas. The service department did not too mine back off after test driving "for a while", per Jake Update 5-21 I received a message to reach out to Carr Subaru about my review. We've owned Subarus for a long time. We come here often for oil changes etc. everyone was really nice. However, I'd highly recommend being more transparent with billing and how much things are going to be. My horn didn't work. I was charged a $190 diagnostic fee just to see why it wasn't working. I wasn't told that was the case/cost. Would recommend being more upfront with your customers to avoid surprises. Brandon in the service department was really nice. FIVE HUNDRED STARS! Wife and I Drove more than 2 hrs North from Eugene because the local dealership had no discounts or deals worth looking at. We didn't mind traveling for a good deal. ***Do Not Buy from Royal Moore Subaru in Hillsboro*** it's well worth the 10 miles to CARR SUBARU in Beaverton to see Polo Morales! He is AWESOME! *(At Royal Moore)Looked at a brand new Crosstrek (as the 2019 Outback they has on sale was sold earlier that day) We found one at a good price point on sale and mentioned the 2 Vehicles we wanted to trade in. We were assured there was a deal to be had. We drove back up first thing the next morning to be there early. Wife is a nurse who worked the night before and came up with no sleep. Not to mention the fact that 1 of the vehicles we wanted to trade was a 1 owner vehicle, and has a lot of sentimental value for my wife as she was homeless for a period of time before we met, and the car was the only way her and the girls weren't sleeping on the sidewalk. I understand that sentimental value to us doesn't equal monetary value to the dealership. However, it was very difficult for my wife to settle with the fact that she was finally letting it go. After cleaning both cars the night and morning of, we drove up in the rain to make a deal. The dealer literally offered us $200 for each vehicle. $400 total. Not even close..... There was no negotiation to be had. Wife would have let the car go for double what they offered. The other vehicle sells on local car lots right this very day for $4,000-5,000+ We were asking a modest $1800 on a trade. With buying a Brand New car, we hoped they were willing to make a deal and we thought we were pretty reasonable on our prices. The dealer made it obvious they weren't going to offer anything more. We were pretty upset and left right then and there. We drove to CARR SUBARU and stopped just for the heck of it. Without running the VIN numbers, the salesman (Mr. Polo Morales) said they would most likely offer us double what we were offered for the wife's car just based on the condition. Sure enough, not only did they take one of the trades (which they gave us a reasonable price for) the 2020 Crosstrek we ended up buying had MORE features than the one at Royal Moore, and was the same price. (And Royal Morre falsely claimed they're the only Subaru dealer offering the Lifetime drivetrain warranty...Not True.) This tells me that we weren't being unreasonable at all and our frustration with this dealership is warranted. CONCLUSION: *If you are looking for a nice Subaru, skip Royal Moore- Go see Polo Morales at CARR SUBARU down the road in Beaverton. He was knowledgeable, understanding of our frustration, and very efficient at getting the deal done so we could get my wife home to sleep a few hours before another night of work during this Virus crap. *Not to mention the car my wife had is on craigslist right now for $1450 and I already had 4 people call within an hour of posting it. Special thank you to Ms Becky Clausen in finance that helped secure preferred financing for us in a very timely and efficient manner. If the manager sees this, give these people a raise. Not only was Jesse friendly and knowledgeable, he matter-of-factly explained the differences between the F and RAV4. Not once did he talk poorly of it, he was completely honest about both cars. He definitely knew his stuff about both of them. He even ENCOURAGED me to test drive the RAV4. We were there most of the day on a Saturday, never felt rushed, was treated respectfully, didn't make me feel stupid for all my questions, and I walked out with a brand new car that day. I have never had such a positive experience like that with a car dealership. The following week I had my car in at the service department for a seal, and they loaned me a car for the day without complaint and had my baby back to me within 4 hours. This week I had the pleasure of speaking with Mary about special features. She walked me through all of the cool things that my car can do. Since it had been a couple of months and I was settled, I really appreciated the crash course in the extras that I didn't realize I could do! They nicely tried to sell me an extended warranty 3x more expensive than what I got at a Subaru dealership from Cramford, CT. You can buy the extended warranty from any dealer in the country. And their GAP coverage was 3x more expensive what than what my insurance offered. You only need GAP while the resale value of the car is lower than the loan balance, so you might only need it for a year or two. At best, I felt misled. Just buy the car and get out. read more

"Yes we fixed it, it was just a bad Solenoid" that is the same answer I received after them not being able to fix my car. After my radiator went out in my 99 Forester, they told me that there was bubbles in my coolant. Which to them means a $3500 head gasket job. That didn't fix it so then they told me it was a solenoid. Next day car broke down on I-5 driving to salem. Left me stranded and then had it towed right back again. They told me it was fixed, I go to pick it up. The entire drivers seat was broken. Brackets and the seat was basically sitting on the metal of the seat. Left it again for 2 weeks for them to fix it. Got it back and I had zero power. Took it back and the technician took for a test drive. Told me it's fine. Left and halfway home, same issue of no power. Took it back the next day and went with the service mechanic this time. He says "oh wow yeah I can feel it now, let's take it back and hook it up to computer." $500 Radiator $3500 head gaskets $1500 in random solenoid issues They then tell me "maybe it's the catalytic converter, we won't know until you pay for the replacement and we can test it out. That will be $2500. Or you can talk to the sales team and trade it in towards another vehicle. Traded in for $3500 and I owed $13,000 on the car. So then here comes PAPA SAFARI! He tells me about this 2017 legacy. That 'doesn't have a blue book value because it's brand new'. Well, I'm an idiot for buying it and being over $10k rolled into the new loan. A $15,000 car cost me over $30,000. Thanks PAPA. So that's what I did, I traded in an older forester that I had spent about $10,000 in repairs from there service center. Gave me minimum trade in value and that PAPA SAFARI sales rep just rushed me through it and promised that they would detail my new legacy but only after I signed a form stating that the car was PERFECT. Well yes, I agree that is my fault as consumer but it was a straight up lie. Then he tells me to post a 5 star review so he can get a GIFT CARD from his manager... here is your review PAPA! If I could choose negative stars I would!! I would rather take my car to the druggies at jiffy lube. Unsatisfied is an understatement after going to this specific location for years. Also, with the legacy, I'm happy I have nice new car. But it Seems like every time I go in for an oil change, I get a door ding. I understand that it possibly could have happened from another customer but they admitted it was the service techs fault. Maybe it was just me. THINK TWICE. Made an appointment last week for the 30k mile Service on my Crosstrek. I asked when I made the appointment how long it would be so I could decide If I could wait while it's done or if I would need to drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon. Was told it would take about an hour and that I could wait while it was done. When I showed up for my appointment today at 12:30pm, I was ask if I needed a ride. I told them I planned to wait because when I called I was told it would be about an hour. The person who checked me in said that would not be possible. it would not be ready until about 4 or 5pm, he has to wait for his technicians to get back from lunch before they could start and the 30k service is a very long appointment. He said he could have it done by 5 or I could cancel. I was blown away. Why would the schedule me at a time when there was no one to work on my car? Why does 1 person say I can wait while it's done snd the other day not? I took the afternoon off from work for this appointment! So frustrating. I did call the manager after I left. He said he would give me 25% off my service if I wanted to give them a second chance. Unfortunately this is the third bad experience I have had at CARR Subaru so I will have to think on that. Although this Subaru service is it is closest to where I live, I may drive farther for better service. read more

I contacted them online to buy a Forester. It was easy to setup an appointment and the salesman was awesome. The problems started with the finance manager (Dane). He seemed frustrated when we didn't buy the add-ons that he was selling. He quickly became outright rude and made comments like it was "foolish" to not buy gap coverage after I said no. It was bad enough that I was determined to never give my business to Carr again after our interaction. To make things worse, the same finance manager didn't send the paperwork like he was supposed to and I had to call three times to get it taken care of. After that, we found out that he didn't fill out one of the forms correctly and we had to meet someone from Carr halfway to get our registration completed (we live 40 miles away). It's too bad. I had high hopes that this dealership would be where I buy my future cars since the salesman (Andrew) was so awesome. I came here after unfortunately being in a bad accident and totaling my first car. I wanted a newer Subaru Outback but my income is low as I'm in my early 20's and just beginning my career. There was a massive lack of transparency in pricing and I was manipulated into paying $10,000 higher than KBB value for a car. I had done my research for another model, and was trusting them to have my best interests in mind for my needs. They pushed the expensive car on me, even when I explained I could not afford the payments. I was very emotional and excited at the time and signed anyways. I was essentially told if I didn't purchase the max amount of coverage, I would not safely be able to drive this vehicle long term. Really?!! The car I received was awful. It touts a ton of tech including a massive tablet in the center, safety features, etc. The main issue is non of them functioned properly. The GPS would not work, nor would the Apple Car Play, ever. This became dangerous when I was receiving signals that I wasn't keeping my eyes on the road when I was, wasn't able to reliable count on my car for GPS instructions, and it had a horrible nonfunctioning feature of stopping for .0005 seconds at a light to save almost no gas and simply shake the entire car. The list goes on, but those made me wonder if they had sold me a lemon...... So I reached out, and was told that even with my $3,0000 coverage I purchased separately, they would still charge me to bring my car in to get looked at - around $100, and they couldn't even see me for a few weeks. I would not have purchased this insurance had I known. I traded this car in because I couldn't even refinance due to the horrible terms CARR set me up with and am now having to pay an additional $10,000 above value on my current car because of this. I am SO happy with my new car (electric!!!) and went through a NON DEALER this time. I heavily recommend just going to CarMax or ordering from Carvana if you can get a good rate - this was a traumatic and horrible experience. They are also extremely unprofessional there. read more

My wife's '09 Subie Forester had a leaky head gasket and we wanted to get an idea of how much it would be to fix. I spoke first to Tiffany who was very thorough and explained all the things they would check for. I know a thing or two about cars so I was able to follow along. She also offered to help my wife with understanding what was needed to be done, and what was a 'nice to have' to help my wife get over being ripped off by multiple dealerships in the past. In the end we did go with them, the price was better than most other places, but we did it because the customer service was excellent. Patient, thorough and helpful staff make Carr way better than places like Audi Beaverton (one day i will write a review about that place)... We worked with Angeline for dropoff, service, and pickup... and she was awesome. She was able to move some schedules around to help get our car in since we have some urgent family issues going on that need a functioning vehicle. They also did the timing belt without changing the price, and came in a little under the quote. 10/10 would visit again and recommend without reservation any day. read more

I normally drive a Porsche, and just recently moved to Portland and found out - this is not a good car for this town - roads are bumpy, my car is bumpy, roads are wet, etc So - skeptical as I possibly could be of any dealership (as I'm used to using an auto broker in California) - I went to carr Subaru to check some stuff out. Met Joshua Z. On the lot and asked him a few questions. This guy was freaking amazing - totally not a high pressure sales guy, but super informed. I told him "no matter what you offer me, I will not be buying today" - he had no problem with that. I got his cell number for any questions that might come up as I'm debating if I even wanted a Subaru. This guy was taking questions from me over text for DAYS - finding the answer ASAP for me if he didn't have it instantly, helping me track down the exact color I want, and showing me great alternative configurations with options and things I didn't know existed. Well, I finally bought a crosstrek through him and I couldn't be happier - the car is fine, I love it, but overall the experience was amazing - I was SO DREADING sitting in a dealership and haggling for hours - we did none of that, found me a great more than fair price, made everything easy for me. He didn't even flinch when I said I'm hungry halfway through the paperwork and leaving to get some ramen they just kept everything there and waiting for me with no pressure or no hurry. While I had a wonderful buying experience from Carr Subaru, I had a terrible experience with their service department. I truly can't believe the unprofessionalism and the lack of customer service I received. When I arrived to drop off my car, there were about 5 people standing around talking and laughing and it took a moment for them to acknowledge me. My car needed to be serviced for 4 recalls and my 30k mile service. They offered me a shuttle home and I had to request a loaner car. I've never not been offered a loaner car when doing service with a dealership, especially a dealership that I purchased my car from. When I returned the loaner car the following day, I'd driven a total of 9 miles. The cashier called for someone and asked them "Do you know how to do a walk around?" to which he replied "I did one with [someone]." After the cashier charged me, she told me that we need to wait for her boss to further inspect the car to see if the damage can be buffed out. At first I thought she was referring to my car that I'd dropped off for service but she informed me that the rental car had damage. I went outside and took a video walk around myself, showing no damage at all. Her boss came back and said "we're good" as if I had done something to the car. When my car was pulled around, it hadn't been vacuumed or washed, which I've never experienced after having service done, especially such a large service. I actually used to work at a dealership and the service was expected to be high. At Carr Subaru, there was trash left in my car that wasn't mine, including long crumpled plastic sheets. My steering wheel was sticky, as was my shifter. This was extremely off putting seeing as how we're in a global pandemic and sanitation should be a top priority. I will not be returning to Carr Subaru for services moving forward, and I will no longer be a customer there. This was a completely unacceptable way to treat people when they're paying for service. read more

Our 2009 Subaru Outback had catastrophic engine failure and we needed to buy a replacement immediately. I called around a few lots and Vijay at Carr was the only one who gave me his name and sounded interested in helping us so we went in to see the 2012 Outback they had online. I think we were one of Vijay's easiest sales in a while, after a quick test drive we were ready to buy. He and his team made is pretty easy for a car sales and we drove off an hour or two later. We came back a couple of weeks later when we realized the headlights were not properly aligned and the service department offered to fix them for free with a walk in appointment. Easy as that! I had an awesome experience at Carr Subaru and am surprised to see that others did not have this experience. I had been in contact with my salesman, Tony Castillo, since my mother had purchased a Subaru Ascent a few months earlier from him. He knew that I was looking for a specific package on a new Crosstrek and watched inventory closely until the perfect car for me came on the lot. He reached out to me the same day it arrived and set up a time for me to come purchase it the following day. He was very kind and took me through the "Trade Up" process to switch from a 2019 Crosstrek to a 2023 Crosstrek (yes, I loved my car so much I traded up to the same model)! After completing initial paperwork with Tony, I was set up with RJ in finance. He was very friendly and did not make me feel pressured to purchase add on packages for my vehicle. He was able to answer all of my questions about the documents I was signing and the process could not have gone any smoother. We recently purchased a new Subaru Outback at CARR Subaru. Aleksey Artemyev was the Sales Associate who helped us and he was awesome! He assisted with a trade-in, a test drive, and the actual sale. He's very friendly, knowledgeable, professional and thorough. We were able to make appointments with him ahead of time, which really helped with the whole experience. We had such a lovely experience with Carr Subaru! We worked with RJ and he was so helpful, honest, and did not feel pushy at all. He went out of his way to send us personalized videos of cars in our price range (and did not push cars he knew we couldn't afford!) so that we could come in knowing what car we wanted to test drive. I was worried about buying in a COVID environment, but the entire staff seemed very prepared and the facilities were very clean and well maintained. We even had a minor issue with the car a few days after we drove it off the lot and all we had to do was text RJ and he had the service team repair it within a few days at no additional cost to us. The finance staff was very clear and helpful in helping us with financing options and even found a way to get payments to exactly where we needed them to be.
