We have been regular customers to this location but lately the food quality and service has deteriorated. We stopped here for dinner last night. The chicken soup had chicken skin and fat in it. The salmon was very fishy, probably not very fresh. The linguini pescatore had some muscles that did not open. When I pointed it out to the server he took the muscles back to the kitchen. Later the same muscles were brought back to the table only this time the muscles were smashed open. They should have been thrown out as they were probably bad and should have never been served in the meal. I complained to the manager on duty. He was not genuinely concerned and offered free dessert. I refused the free dessert so he took $5 off our bill. Really? I don't recommend this location. read more

This place never fails to deliver. All the food is great, from the appetizers you dessert. Pick anything on the menu that sounds good to you and you will like it. Do t pass on the blackberry sangria. The service is always on point even when they are busy. The staff is always on point. The ambiance has changed a little, they made it more bright inside witch takes away from the (what use to feel more private) to a more open brighter room. Still not sure how I feel about that yet. I went on my birthday February 13 at the Mesa location. We had the best meal ever! We did the 2/69.00 the appetizer tomato and cheese was different, chicken soup good, the main course salmon and garlic mashed potatoes were to die for I would highly recommend it cooked to perfection. We had ceasar salads the dressing is great and the use the perfect ration. We went for dinner at the Carrabba's in GIlbert, AZ. We hadn't been there in a long time. Let me say that we have always enjoyed Carrabba's and had good experiences there. However, this time things were a little different. The good news was that we did get seated pretty quickly for a Sat night. We ordered wine - $15 for 9 oz glass (a bit high $ I thought!), Chicken Parm and Chicken Piccatta. All was fine until we were about two thirds through the entrees, and the server asked if we would be having desert. We said no. I thought this was weird since we weren't even finished eating yet. Then, she brought the check and placed it in an upright position in the middle of the table, so it surely couldn't be missed. So, I moved it to the side and placed it down on the table. Then the server came back to retrieve the payment, but I told her we weren't even finished eating so there was no payment there yet. Obviously, she seemed to be in a hurry, and it was still several hours before closing time. For some reason, I wanted another piece of bread to finish my meal, and my partner did too. I pulled out a piece of bread, and there was mold on it. I was now concerned since we had already eaten a couple of pieces. I called over the server, and she got the manager. The manager apologized and removed the bread. When the server returned, she said the manager was reducing our bill by $10. Now, that might seem like a nice gesture, but, I don't think it was enough. They should've comped at least one entree, which were $24.95. I worked in the the restaurant biz for many years, and mold on bread is a pretty big deal. I know it's not the server's fault, so we tipped her based on the full amount. But, there can be steps taken to alleviate this in the kitchen. We will still go back to Carrabba's, but they need to train their servers not to rush the customers. If we're now paying $25-50 for an entree, then they need to step up their game. read more

We have been going to Carrabba's at this location for the past 9 years. Our most recent visit this past Friday will be our last. The prices are so much higher and the food was not good at all. I got the shrimp fettucine, which was basically a big bowl of buttered noodles (not fettucine white sauce) and 6 or 7 small shrimp. The bread which we have always loved, came this time with such a hard outside crust it was difficult to eat. Great lasagna, full of meaty goodness and a portion size bigger than my head. The prices here are stupid high, but it's a nice treat for the family every once in a while. We found this place just before Christmas last year and this is our 3rd time coming in that span. What keeps us coming back is the hospitality! The servers are always super friendly and the same manager, cory, has been there every time. He gets the door for us and checks on us throughout our visit....amazing. the food is plentiful and decent for the price too. 7/20 around 6pm reservation was for 10: We took my mom here for her birthday tonight and it was so amazing! The staff is very nice and very accommodating as well. The flavors of everything on my plate was delightful! I also order a prickly pear margarita which I HIGHLY suggest since I think it's only there for a limited time! I got really excited when I saw it placed in front of me! The color was like a bright pink/purple. Taste was definitely a 10/10! I would love to know the recipe cause that's how good it was! My boyfriend had the shrimp scampi and he said it was the best one he has had yet! There was also a chocolate cake with ice cream too and that was sooooooo good! My family had a horrible experience at the one in San Tan a few years back. For this reason we had stayed away! Today we went back to our usual Carrabba's in Mesa and WOW it did not disappoint us at all! The food was great as usual, very taste! Our service was horrible, had to ask to get refills on our drinks and the waiter seemed totally confused as to his actual job. The food portions were tiny and definitely not very tasty. Had to return a steak that was ordered medium rare and served well done. It was supposed to be 7 oz but looked more like 4. The lasagna was mushy. Then we were 'required' to pay a 'suggested gratuity' of 18%. Manager refused to adjust the check to remove the 'mandatory, suggested gratuity'; It was only five adults and a couple small children. I called spoke to manager and she offered for us to come back and get our correct order. I asked about complimentary items since we now had to travel back to the restaurant to get our food. Honestly this place was surprisingly good! I don't have much hope for a 5 star experience at a chain restaurant but this place hit it home with me. The price wasn't outrageous either. Our waiter Alexander C was super nice and wore these really snazzy glasses that had a fade in them, he also listens and knows a lot about the restaurant. One thing I really appreciated about snazzy Alex is the way he introduced the restaurant to us.
