Top ten from start to finish. Arrive at Cary Crab House and had to wait about 15 minutes. They told us we would get a text , when our table was ready. We decided to visit others stores on the strip while waiting. Sure enough the text was coming through at the 15 minute mark. I was very impressed that we even received a phone call to let us know, our table was ready. We requested a booth and that's exactly what we got. My party only had about 5 members. Our waitress Nan went over the top with service. We got drinks and food very fast . The food was hot,fresh and tasted very good. The combos could easily feed 2 people plus. No cocktails only Beer and Wine. The menu is very simple. If you don't like seafood you are missing out. This place is delectable if you love a good seafood restaurant. I'm a southern girl and I'm use Dixie Queen and Mayflower which is in Eastern NC (ECU) vicinity and Cary Crab House surpassed both of them with flying colors. This is experience is not cheap but worth every penny. This is my new spot for business and pleasure!!! We got water and tried to order beer, but they do not have their liquor license yet because they have only been open for 2 1/2 weeks too bad. We proceeded to order the shrimps and crawfish basket along with a half pound of sausages. When the food came out, we immediately had questions as to what we have just had placed in front of us. The shrimps and crawfish were way over cooked and they only put seasoning on after it was cooked. This place claims to be Cajun/creole, but I can say without a doubt it is neither. The seafood was very tasty, but the dining experience was pretty dismal. They first deliver a plastic-bag-lined pail that contains your paper plate, a bib, a pair of loose food service plastic gloves, a wet-nap, a crab-cracker, and a plastic fork. Then the crab legs arrived double-bagged in the sauce style you ordered. In our case, ordering snow crab and king crab legs, the shells were too soft to crack with the cracker, too soft to break by bending, and the plastic fork was no match to extract the crab meat from the shells. The dining experience would have been most improved by the availability of a metal fork, particularly seafood-size... but no such luck. The entries do come with a side, either a half-ear of corn or a single tiny red potato that has been boiled with the dinner. If this were one of those places where you get a huge pile of seafood and the sides are for decoration that would be fine, but the seafood quantity here is modest at best and the prices high for what you get. Their bar is pretty entertaining... looks like a regular bar, except the shelves are stocked with cardboard six-packs of bottled beer. read more

I've eaten at places that sell the seafood by the pound in a bag before and most all have a similar flavor. I ordered the shrimp with the head on and the flavor was incredible. I'm giving 1 star because a member of our group was allergic to shellfish(yes I know it is a crab house) but there we're other items on the menu that he could have eaten. We asked if the chicken was fried in a different fryer separate from the shells high and they said no. They use the same grease and fryers for all of the food which I thought was disappointing. Tried this new place tonight. I didn't love it but will likely give it another try. Service was very good: friendly, welcoming, on top of things. Steamed oysters were fishy tasting and the garlic sauce was really too strong and too salty. I love my oysters and the ones I had tonight were just not good. But the Steamed shrimp were amazing! They were perhaps a bit spicier than what we ordered but my goodness they were crazy good. A++ We also got a basket of fried oysters...the breading just wasn't good. What a disappointment. But the sweet potato fries were really delicious. Two things to mention to the staff: 1) please use soap when you wash your hands. Water alone is not sufficient. NOT A FAN!! The prices are high for the amount of food you get and for a bonus you get to eat on paper plates and the "atmosphere" is much like a school cafeteria. They only have bottled beer and it wasn't very cold. The menu is pretty limited, the food was ok but it wouldn't be something I would brag about. The "bar" is a joke, it looks like something one of your buddies built in his shed out back at 4:00 am after a keg party. As a matter of fact the decor of the whole place is very much the same way. But let me tell you why now....I placed myself on the wait list not realizing my husband put us in line as well so I removed myself from the wait. Lenny the hostess called me to ask if I was sure I wanted to be removed because she recognized my name and know we eat here on regular. If this isn't excellent customer service I don't know what is! So much seasoning that you don't need any butter. It's that southern style low country boil with more than one seasoning offered for all steamers. Crab legs were juicy and large. Will not go there again. My wife and I had dinner there last night. Both of us had the King Crab legs. Although the crab was good, that was the only thing. The corn was way overcooked and had no taste. There were no hush puppies or bread, salt and pepper, or coleslaw. A glaring omission was the "pick" to use on the crab legs. The waiter said they only give picks when the customer asks. We asked, and after a while the waiter returned saying they were out of picks and offered us a pair of kitchen scissors - not good nor sanitary! Joe's Crab Shack is more fun but this place has better food. You get to pick your flavor profile and spice heat level. I like that. I splurged and had the King Crab legs and shrimp. I love this place and it definitely shows because my gf and I go here regularly. But, It would be five stars if it wasn't for my mussels having a pink color to it. I'm not sure if it's not done all the way orrr? Some of my mussels would be pink and the rest a normal color. But the Big Bang sauce is to die for. On the island of Oahu, there was a tiny seafood restaurant hidden away, favored by locals. Their specialty was "garlic crab" and every time I go to Honolulu, I'd have it. They're since closed, but I am DELIGHTED to report that right in my new hometown, Cary Crab House has come through with this delicious, drippy, flavor explosion of a dish and I will be here for it as many times as I can. The other food is great, too - love the fried shrimp, they are a great size! I already can't wait to go back. It's been 3 days since my mum and I stumbled upon this restaurant, and I am STILL thinking about the food! My mum was visiting and on our shopping break decided to yelp restaurants in the area & Cary Crab House came up as "Hot & New" We both love seafood so we decided to give CCH a try. Boy oh boy. We were NOT disappointed!!! It was a Friday evening and the wait time was minimal. We sat at one of the comfy booths and noticed the decor on the wall. Signatures from prior diners and many were expressing thier gratitude for delicious food. I thought, "well, that's a good sign." My mum and I both ordered the King Crab Legs which came with bibs/apron, a bucket, gloves, sides of lemon butter and the steel claw crackers. We also ordered the fried soft shell crab and it was phenomenal. Very well seasoned. But wait, it gets better...the crab legs came out in a closed and steaming hot bag, with a cob of corn and inundated in the seasoning and juices. We both opted for the "all of the above" seasoning, spicy style and it was soooooo delicious! We were still thinking and talking about our meal the next day over breakfast and the next day. For our main, we ordered the shrimp (with no heads!) prepared with Cajun, garlic butter, and lemon pepper, at medium heat. It wasn't too spicy and had a ton of flavor.
