I came here for Father's Day with my wife and 1 year old daughter. We've been here before but this time the experience was terrible. We ordered drinks and the waitress spilled my entire beer onto my daughter which caused her to start crying. The waitress was very nice and apologized. But we ended up having to change my daughter because she smelt like beer and was soaked. When we got our food it seemed to be a lot less than when we had came before. With the prices so high I was hoping to Be filled by the end but sadly I was not. We had beer spilled on our daughter, not enough food to fill someone up and we spent almost $100 for a terrible experience on Father's Day. We have heard so much great things about this location and that the Cary location is much better than the Raleigh one. Our wait was only 10 minutes after we mentioned we were on the waitlist via the Yelp app. Let's talk food! My wife and I love crab legs and shrimp. We order the crab legs and shrimp, I added the Cajun fries also. It came with corn and potatoes as well, so tasty. The portion size was perfect. I have frequented this restaurant ever since the day it opened. I love the staff and the patience they exude- even on those busy days when the line is wrapped about the door. The pricing is not bad at all for all that you get. The combos are your average, but you can always create your own. The desserts aren't that many but by the time you finish eating your food, you are too stuffed to have dessert. It is a cool atmosphere with not too much going on but a small bar and the restaurant is mostly full as you let the day get longer. they normally open around 3pm which is too late in the day I think, but this is just during the week. I was recently visiting from Richmond VA for Father's Day weekend and I am trying to find a reason to come back to Raleigh just so I can eat here! I believe the market is becoming saturated with seafood boil places but what I will say this restaurant is here to stay! It was delicious! The combination of all 3 sauces is so scrumptious. I was so stuff but I kept dipping my finger in it! The ambience is very family friend and I love that we got to write on the wall! For a family of 4 we spent $190 and it was well worth it. We were a big group, so had to wait quite a while to get our food, but I'm hoping that it wouldn't take that long usually to get our food. Came here on a busy Saturday night and was super disappointed by the long wait ... ended up leaving a returning Sunday for lunch. Was seated quickly and there were a good amount of people there already. We started with raw oysters and ordered the combo with crab legs and shrimp in garlic butter for our meals. The oysters were a good size and very tasty. It took a little bit for our entrees to come out but it was not an issue. We received a trash bucket, bibs, gloves, and wipes which were a nice touch. Our seafood came out hot in a big bag... seemed a little odd at first but the taste made up for it. It was delicious and we received a large amount of good size legs and shrimp. Cooked perfectly. This was our first time dining in since Feb 2020 and it was well worth the wait. Awesome food piping hot. Was seated quickly; service was a bit slow getting started due to Mother's Day crowd but totally acceptable. The seafood was mediocre but the seasoning was really good. It was my best-friends birthday when we went there and most places give you at least free dessert for your birthday but the waiter looked at us confused and just said "okay good for you" and later came back with four hush puppies as complimentary. At the end we decided to get cheesecake and the cheesecake tasted like someone had put seafood seasoning in it. Won't be coming back. read more

discovered this place about six months ago and i love it. i've been to this one & the raleigh location, but the cary location is definitely the best. i usually go around dinner time and even when there's a wait, we're sat & get our food pretty quickly. parking is easy. there has never been bad service & the crab is so delicious that i go at least once every other week. the snow crab is my favorite, & 1lb is enough for one person, although sometimes i'll get 1lb and a half. it can be messy so it's definitely not somewhere you wanna go for a "fancy dinner". i love this place, though! read more

I am here today to provide you with feedback. As usual the food is great but you definitely need to improve your Takeout service during the pandemic. On Valentine Sunday I ordered on the phone and they told me to pickup at 6:00. I arrived 5:45 and was in line almost until 7:00 pm. It was freezing cold and raining. People were complaining, the lady that was before me, said she was suppose to pick up at 5:30 and when she arrived to the window, she was told that it wasn't ready and that she had to wait 15 mins. In addition people we coming in to order, which people that were waiting were complaining thinking that they were going to cut in line. I suggest that you have someone outside organizing. You should have 3 lines. One for pickup, one for ordering and one for door dash or uber eats. In addition that person should help get the orders so everything moves smoothly. I understand that Valentine must of been hectic but you should plan a better system, if not you will loose customers. read more

Great seafood and really unique spot in Cary. I went here with two co-workers and we had a great time. This is a no frills restaurant, you eating on paper plates with plastic utensils and shrimp out of a bag, but it's all part of the ambience of the place. I had their catfish fingers which were very good and my co-workers loves their shrimp dinners. They gave a large amount of shrimp, so you get a lot of food for what you pay for. Definitely recommend if you're in the area and looking for something different then your standard fork and knife restaurant. read more

Four and a half stars would be most appropriate. Ate here two nights in a row. Fantastic food and great friendly service. I had the Snowcrab, 1/2 lb shrimp, sausage and substituted extra corn for the potato. I also chose the garlic butter and Cajun seasoning with medium heat. Perfect. The second night I had a dozen oysters, king crab and shrimp. Oysters were super fresh and I like the size of the King crab better but it will cost you $9 more. The medium heat level provides a little kick but nothing overpowering. The two guys working the bar (one older gent and one young man) are engaging and efficient. If they had a shrimp bowl with some broth and bread to sop it up this would be a 5* meal, IMHO. But I'll be eating here a lot when I'm in the Cary area. read more

This is a good spot for some great seafood. I ordered Combo B with garlic butter sauce and added sausage for and additional 5 bucks. OMG that food was seasoned to perfection! Your food is served in a bag like a low country boil with potatoes and corn, word to the wise, cut you potatoes up and soak them in the sauce absolutely delicious! GREAT addition to Cary. I've been 3 times and I've had the snow crab legs, mussels, shrimp, corn, potatoes, hush puppies, fries, and fried shrimp. Yes yes yes, judge on! ALL of the seafood is good. I won't say it's the best I've ever had because the seasoning "which is amazing" isn't really cooked into the food, which I recognize is hard for shellfish, it kind of hangs out at the bottom of the bag. I just dip my food into the juices and allow my taste buds to dance with each bite. Dipping is key here people. I skip the butter because it's no comparison to the sauce. I've only tried the big bang seasoning and can't imagine the others are better because the big bang is all 3 combined. I've tried medium and mild and prefer the medium because it has a little kick. I might go all out spicy next time. I dip my corn too which just made it the best corn of my life (next to elote.....elote is bae). The hush puppies were crispy and sweet with corn kernel surprises inside. The fries were fresh, well seasoned and crunchy, yet the potatoes left me (and hubby) underwhelmed although my niece loved them. They price by the pound but it's a good portion. I've always gotten 2 clusters in my "pound" so those are my expectations. The combo CAN be shared but I'd recommend getting your own food lol, seriously.... just get your own. My gripe is you only get ONE PIECE OF CORN. Come on CCH why you wanna do us like that??? One cob? It's so dang good! Soooo I order a side of corn and ask them to add it in my bag with all the juices for sweet and spicy goodness. Also this place is CLEAN! I've seen them mop, scrub the tables, and clean the bathroom twice when I've gone near closing, they don't miss a spot. I appreciate that and there is no fishy smell. Let's just say I plan to take the 35 min drive to come here again and again. Note though.... prices can add up.... but with crab legs it's expected. read more

This place is our go to spot for snow crab legs, fried soft shell Crabs & fried oysters. We have also enjoyed their steamed shrimp with head on several times- really good also, but family says too much work to peel the, shrimps! The fried soft shell crab is always perfectly fried and tasty. The fried oysters are always HUGE and perfectly fried. Some places over season the fried items muting the natural flavor of the seafood....not here....just perfect & not greasy. "The Big Bang" seasoning for their steamed seafood, potato & corn on the cob is awesome. We drive all the way from North Raleigh to this place! Would give a full 5 stars but - on occasion the crab legs were over cooked- perhaps left over from prior days batches!?!? - still good - but you can tell. With Covid- we have chosen to only visit places that are not allowing dine in. We appreciate Cary Crab House for offering this service during this hard time. read more
