Omg. I am so glad I grabbed this at my last day working in Berkeley. I ended get 6 focaccia. My favorite being the mushroom and leek, the margarita, and the tomato focaccia. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is nice. I would definitely come back to get some pasta or roast chicken and definitely more bread.

This is an amazing hidden gem on College Ave and also conveniently located by the 51B stop! I've come here so many times and this place has consistently good food. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options. The vibe inside is cozy and I think it's neat that you can see the people baking new focaccia pizzas or chicken from the side tables. I got 2 pieces of different focaccia pizzas. I thought that the bread was perfectly crisp while also being airy. My favorite was the Melanzane which has eggplant, pesto, and ricotta. The pesto had a nutty and fresh taste that went well with the cheese. They have a lot of different flavors to try and other side dishes as well such as aranchini. The service is friendly and helpful. One thing to note is that find street parking might be challenging depending on the time of day you go. Overall, I think this is a solid place to grab a quick bite to eat or to have a casual meal out. I think that for the price, the portion of food and quality make it worth it. I would definitely come back to check out their their Happy Hour deals.

Outdoor patio seats. Located at intersection of College and Alcatraz.

Stopped in during their daily Happy Hour special. You get a small appetizer plate with a glass of wine. The happy hour appetizer small plate comes with olives, crispy cracker circles, and a few small 2-inch squares of flatbread pizza. Perfect to pair with a glass of wine. I ordered a glass of their chardonnay for $14. I also decided to get 2 slices of pizza, which range between $6 to $8 per square slice. I chose the Tartufata (Pork sausage, truffle, mushroom, provolone) and Capricciosa (ham, artichoke, olives, provolone). The pizza was nicely made and heated up slightly in their pizza oven. I recommend you drizzle their infused olive oil (condiment at each table) on your pizza or focaccia bread. I would definitely come again during Happy Hours between 4:30pm to 6pm. Venue has cozy indoor seating and 2 patio tables right outside. Located on the intersection of College Ave and Alcatraz. Street and neighborhood parking only.

If you haven't tried this place yet, put it on your to-do list! It's a small shop that creates a sweet intimate cultural vibe. They have cute fairy lights stringed throughout the establishment creating ambiance for a cute date night. The service was great! I was able to get seated and helped within seconds of walking in! I quickly placed my order for the Arrabbiata and it took a few minutes for it to come out piping hot! The dish was delicious! The bread was airy and soft, but the crust was nice and crunchy. There was a chili oil bottle near and after drizzling my dish with that, it created the perfect bite. I can't wait to have another free moment to go back and try something else on their menu!

We finally made time to visit this place that was highly recommended. Thank you Drew!! It's settled in a community similar to Willow Glen. Parking was easy thanks to the park mobile app. We love Focaccia bread and they actually make all the pizza on this type of bread. It's designer pizza for sure. I do not remember the names but they were all delicious. I will upload the receipt. My girl ordered the lasagne and it came with a small fresh salad that was delicious. Lasagne was 7/10 but the pizza was 10/10. I like my lasagne crispy but this was maybe too crispy or sitting for too long before being reheated. Flavor of the lasagne on a fresher bite was on point though. We ordered the beef lasagne but I believe they do have a vegetable option. Every bite of the pizza was airy and light and perfect ratio of sauce and toppings. Amazingly crispy and fresh!!! I could not choose a favorite they were ALL great. We ordered a piece of focaccia bread and they also served us a Peruvian pesto for dipping. The French fries we ordered were also tasty and that came with a green dipping sauce that had a hint of spice. Do not ask for ranch they do not carry it. Like I said this is designer food. We tried the Italian soda and it tasted like sprite with less artificial flavor. Please try this place if you enjoy pizza and focaccia bread you will not regret it. Melissa and Luis were both very attentive in helping us with our order. The bathroom was clean and the playlist reminded me of home. Sade and Al Green....perfect date night.

Tried Casa Barotti today with a colleague and I already want to go back! We ordered the Arrabbiata and it was absolutely delicious. The focaccia was perfectly crispy on the outside, airy inside, and packed with flavor. Service was quick and attentive, and the place itself is super cute, clean, and inviting. Located in the beautiful Rockridge neighborhood, it's the perfect spot for a cozy and satisfying meal. Will be back again!

Bottom Line: Best Focaccia Pizza in the World & IT'S AFFORDABLE!!! I don't usually like focaccia pizza because it is too much bread but the focaccia here is literally the best in the world, yeah, including Italy. The owner was telling me people visting from Italy take some home with them. I had the spicy soppresatta pizza for $6.25, salad and beer and it was other worldly. The owner told me his daughter is the chef and bakes the pizza on a steel. Well it's thinner than most focaccia, the dough is amazing and has a crisp bottom. Oh, and the salad was other worldly too, so Italian. Yeah it's a family restaurant, with great service, very cozy look and feel, extensive choices and awesome food. Highly recommended!!!

A decent place to grab a quick lunch. This place is pretty small with only several tables inside and a few outside. We ordered some salad, pizzas and porchetta sandwich. The food didn't really blow my mind that I am planning to rush to come back unfortunately.

On my way to Rockridge BART, I passed Casa Barotti and my sister immediately said "A FOCACCIARIA? WHY DIDN'T WE KNOW ABOUT THIS?" So we ran our errands and backtracked to Casa Barotti to check out the menu. We decided the mushroom and leek focaccia looked good and was a reasonable price ($7) for a slice so we split it. It was SO GOOD. It was much thinner than what I expected, very light and fluffy, and had a delightful gentle crunch. I could easily eat 2 slices for a snack and 3 for a meal. We didn't try anything else there, but SO impressed at the texture of this bread. We talked to the employee for a few mins and found out that it opened 3 years ago, so roughly 2021. It's quite brave to open a business during the pandemic, but I'm glad they've done really well for themselves. Environment was nice. I did have to ask someone to wipe down our table because it was full of crumbs, and I watched a fly land on some food on display, but ... that's what you get for having open doors and open display cases. I assume reheating the bread would kill anything. Maybe it makes it more authentic. I suppose centuries of people have eaten food served outdoors and we all survived. Hours later I went to a birthday party where I was STILL talking about this place and sent the link to all of my friends. Highly recommend.

Dropped in during an unexpected encounter - I was drawn in from the sidewalk and wanted to know more. I liked the interior a lot - it was bright, clean, open, the walls were adorned with various photographs, from the tables, chairs, lighting fixtures, to the way the condiments were placed out on the tables, everything carried my eyes to wander and admire. I entered during a time when there was only one other person waiting for a to-go order. The guy who was working was nice - especially when I kept asking questions. All of the food looked great, well-stocked, and the display they had showing its name was well read. There was a lot I wanted to try, but I limited myself to two slices of their pizzas. - Capricciosa $7 (one of their most popular ones - mushrooms, olives, artichoke, mozzarella, and ham) - San Daniele $7.50 (this might be a seasonal one as its not listed on their website - had prosciutto and arugula) Checking in on the Yelp app, I received a free piece of their focaccia bread which he cut in two pieces for me. I would love to come back here for their aperitivo (happy hour) which is held from 4-6:30pm. I find that this place is great for a quick bite, grab n' go, and dining in for the cool atmosphere. There are a few two person tables which could be combined together for a larger group and a few bar tables along the wall which is good for two people, along with a few cute tables for outside dining which I'd love to see more of in the state of California. The food tasted amazing! Shared and eaten once I arrived home. I wish I had gotten more to try!

How does this place not have a solid five-star average? Absolutely amazing food. This was my first visit to a full-blown focaceria. I will definitely be back. I was a little leery at first as I typically eat thin crust pizza. But this is not pizza. This is the freshest most flavorful pizza-like thing I have ever eaten. I ordered only vegetarian focaccia, but the others looked amazing too. I'm not a vegetarian, but I was just in the mood for no meat tonight. The service was friendly, and the restaurant immaculately clean. Found meter curbside parking right outside the door. This place is so good, you should go out of your way to get here.

DO NOT SKIP THIS PLACE. Their pizza is to die for and was named one of the "Top Italian Restaurants" by San Francisco Chronicles. Crust is light and flakey, casual seating, and nice staff. Maybe pair it with a drink if you're up for it :) I got the house white wine and enjoyed it very much. Also, if you like chili oil give it a try w your order.

When you order, they give you one of those devices that lets you know when your food's ready, so you can walk around and check out the public market while you wait for your meal.

We ordered the: -chicharrons: super delicious, the pork was crispy and paired well with the pickled toppings. I'm usually not a fan of yuca fries but theirs was crispy and tasty! -crispy plantains: the plantains came out fresh, super crispy and pairs extremely well with the condiments that was offered altogether. -steak: ordered off the larger sides, the steak was cooked to medium rare and tasted delicious. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert but we'd love to come back for future dinners and/or celebrations. Our server was also fantastic and offered 2 glasses of bubbles on the house to celebrate.

1/5 Extremely…read moredisappointing experience at Parche. I had a 9:00 PM reservation and received a call from the manager right at 9:00 PM. During that conversation, I told him I was on my way. His response was clear: he told me they would keep the kitchen open for us. Based on that assurance, I continued driving to the restaurant. Then, when I was approximately five minutes away, the same manager called back and informed me that the kitchen was now closed and that they would not be serving us. What frustrates me most is that this entire situation was completely avoidable. If the kitchen was about to close, he should have either told me not to come or given me a firm cutoff time. Instead, he confirmed that I was on my way and assured me they would keep the kitchen open. Had he simply been honest about the actual situation, I could have chosen from countless other restaurants whose kitchens were still open and enjoyed my evening without issue. During our conversation, the manager repeatedly tried to justify what happened by pointing to fine print in the reservation policy and by saying he had attempted to contact me at 8:48 PM. But none of that addressed the actual issue. At 9:00 PM, we spoke directly. I told him I was on my way, and he told me they would keep the kitchen open. That was the representation I relied on. If the kitchen could not remain open, he should have told me that at that moment rather than assuring me everything was fine and then calling back minutes later to cancel. To make matters worse, the manager later claimed that I had told him I was only five minutes away, which is simply not true. I never gave him a five-minute arrival estimate. Yet that inaccurate statement somehow became part of the explanation for why they decided to close the kitchen. I even asked why they couldn't simply take my order over the phone and have the food ready when I arrived. First, I was told that the food would be prepared too quickly and would be cold by the time we got there. When I questioned that explanation, the reasoning changed and I was then told they couldn't count on me to pay. The explanations seemed to change depending on the conversation, which only made the situation more frustrating. Adding to that, the manager repeatedly referred to me as "friend" throughout the conversation while refusing to honor the commitment he had made minutes earlier. Under normal circumstances that wouldn't bother me, but in this situation it came across as dismissive and insincere. I would have preferred accountability and a genuine apology. The proposed solutions were equally disappointing. At one point, the manager assumed I had taken an Uber and offered to reimburse an Uber fare. Besides being an incorrect assumption, it completely missed the point. The issue was never transportation costs. The issue was that we relied on his assurance that the kitchen would remain open, only to have that commitment withdrawn while we were already on the way. My two friends and I had planned on having a nice dinner together. Instead, we spent the evening scrambling to find somewhere else to eat. After being turned away elsewhere because of kitchen closures, we ultimately ended up eating at BJ's around 10:30 PM. I drove up from Los Angeles for the evening, and thanks to how this was handled, I essentially spent six hours on the road only to end up eating at BJ's. Had the manager simply been straightforward with me from the beginning, I could have made different plans and enjoyed dinner at any number of other restaurants still serving food. The only meaningful solution offered was a vague promise of a discount if I came back another time. After having a reservation effectively canceled while I was already en route based on the manager's own assurances, that did not feel like a serious attempt to make things right. Frankly, after this experience, it was difficult to understand why I would ever consider returning. The entire interaction left me questioning why I would ever return to Parche or consider visiting any affiliated restaurants. Mistakes happen, but what separates a good restaurant from a bad experience is how management handles them. In this case, there was no ownership, no accountability, and no acceptable resolution. If you're going to accept reservations and assure guests that the kitchen will remain open, you should honor that commitment. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. What should have been a nice dinner with friends turned into a frustrating and unnecessary ordeal. Instead of enjoying the evening we had planned, we spent it scrambling from restaurant to restaurant looking for somewhere still serving food. In the end, the night was only barely salvaged, and certainly not because of anything Parche did to make the situation right. A simple, honest conversation at 9:00 PM would have avoided the entire problem.
