My wife and I went for date night and had a fantastic time. The staff was attentive and friendly. The ambiance was great. And most importantly the food was fantastic. We split the Crispy Tuna Rice, Shogun role, Beet Salad, and then had Pork Carinitas, and Sea Bass as our mains - all of which I'd order again! We stopped in for lunch after church for a 12:15 reservation. There were barely any people there, so we were seated promptly even though we were early. Lauren was taking care of us for our first visit. She was friendly, attentive and helpful with suggestions. We started with the Hama chili. It was ok. I wan't wowed, but it wasn't bad. We also got the moletes and guacamole. Again neither were spectacular. They were very one note; they were missing something in the flavor profile. For the mains, I got the short rib carnitas that were absolutely delicious. They give you 2 ribs, a cup of black bean, 2 sauces, pickled veggies, and corn tortillas. The tortillas were unneeded in my opinion. The black beans were also tasty. My husband got the Prime Picahna cooked medium with a chimicurri sauce. He also got a side of black beans and mac and cheese. He said the steak was pretty good and he's picky about his steaks. The mac and cheese was ok, again nothing world changing. We washed it down with prosecco and a Neptune's Vieux that was essentially 2 drinks. We said we'd return to try other things, but we won't rush back. It was nice from what I could see. We sat at a 2 seater in the bar area. There is a bright area surrounded by windows at the front, the bar area in the middle and at the back is larger tables with low lights. Dare I say it ? This spot has made it to my top favorite spots in Dallas. The pictures do not do this place justice the restaurant is huge. Combination of large dining area bar seating, private dining, and two bars. It was a busy Friday night so the ambiance was lively. They had a dj playing which helped the energy of the room. Your manager or restaurant team needs to treat all guest and customers the same. Stop discrimination on black customers. Stop making one group of people do something and then allow the other group to do it. You stopped a group of black young females from taking pics and told them no flash photography. Then they respected your wishes and went inside to eat, only to come outside and see a large group of Caucasians taking pics and flashing lights everywhere! Then they even asked you the manager to help them take the pics and you did! That is absolutely wrong because you just told the black girl groups no pics. So you basically showed that if you are Caucasian you can do whatever you want and take pics. But if you are black you can't and all you need to do is seat down and eat. That is absolutely ridiculous! Do better. Fire all who participated in this that day. I saw 2 host at that desk and a man with a suite on who is the one who told the girls no pics! Came excited. Left disappointed. Let's start with the good. Service was top-notch and the ambience was spectacular. The staff were friendly, attentive, and really tried to make the night special. Unfortunately, everything fell apart when it came to the food and management. We ordered several items. Some were solid, but every steak that hit our table was undercooked. I asked for medium rare and got straight-up rare. We even ordered the tomahawk, which should've been the highlight of the night, but instead it was half fat. Disgusting. When we brought it up to the manager, instead of listening, he decided to educate me on what a tomahawk steak is, like I've never had one before. He must've underestimated me because I look young -- I'm 33, sir, and I know exactly what a tomahawk should look (and taste) like. I'm not new here! Instead of owning the mistake, he kept saying it was a double cut, like that magically explains serving a plate of fat. Our concern wasn't the cut, it was that half the steak was inedible. I never once asked for it to be taken off the bill, but a little understanding or a nice gesture would've gone a long way. Instead, he doubled down with attitude. Total douchebag behavior. I finally told him half off would be fair since only half the steak was actually edible. His response? "I would eat that." Well touche...Maybe I should've just boxed up all the fat and fed it to him. With that kind of attitude and they just opened? I'm shocked. This guy is not management material. Overall, super disappointed in how the manager handled the situation. Alienating customers who would otherwise love to support the business seems like an upside down strategy for the owner, but here we are. Very kind, knowledgeable of the menu and cleaning up your plates as you go to open space for your next course. From the drinks, appetizers, entrees and dessert everything was flavorful, delicious and seasoned very well. We had not a single complaint. Everything was just that good. Casa Brasa also added a special touch to my husband's dessert by adding a chocolate happy birthday sign and candle. Things i liked: Best ambience in Dallas so far! Very upscale very New York/ Malibu vibes. Appreciated the champagne during waiting. Loved kamilla lounge. The drink menu was vast - alot to choose from. Huge capacity the restaurant can seat alot of people. Complimentary valet without expected tips. Things I did not like: The wait time for people with a reservation- what's the point of a reservation then? The fromt desk staff were way too inexperienced and rude. They look at you, dont tell you anything if you could go in, if you need to wait line, if they checked you in - nothing. Her ipad fell while she was trying to find my name from the ipad stand and she didn't know how to handle the situation and called too many people. And to make it better the just pour champagne and place the flutes on the desk for you to take without serving. The waiting area got crowded way too quick. And by the time we were walking to the table the staff didn't bother holding the doors and the staff was found still wiping away our table while we stood there waiting to be seated - and she looked like she was caught doing something wrong and ran away the napkin. Way too over priced for the portion size. While i understand that ingredients are sourced from xyz places and a restaurant with ambiance like this it is expected to pay alot for basically leaving hungry but still the average sushi maki shouldn't cost $30. The music in the lounge was way too loud the speakers - an intimate low lit area with live music. The vibe felt right but the speakers were on blast and I couldn't hear a single thing my friend was telling when she was hardly sitting inches away. Also the chairs and couches were super u comfortable to sit on as they were too low and one would have to sit slanted and cross legged (felt like i was sitting in the bucket). The wait staff have no idea what they are doing and have no answers to any questions you ask them - and they just say they are "new here". A restaurant with this caliber should hire highly experienced staff to meet & provide the expectation and the experience. I was surprised why there wasnt much buzz about this place on the internet and thought because it wasn't from a hospitality Dallas is used to. Tried this new addition to Dallas and it definitely gives Miami/ Vegas ambiance. The good was really good which is hit or miss with aesthetic places in Dallas that open up. Everything we had was delicious. Definitely recommend the sea bass and lamb chops. The drinks were great as well. For a vibes place, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Their steak is pretty good with a sauce. The sushi is not as good as what you would get at a proper sushi place, but it's serviceable. We also got the Mexican Fattoush which was a cute spin on the typical fattoush. read more

I was so excited to be surprised by my significant other and friend for my birthday dinner here! I had been eyeing this restaurant for quite sometime. We started off at the bar as our table wasn't quite ready- The bartender despite being extremely busy acknowledged us but took the menu from a different patron who was seated at the bar--- if looks could kill this lady would have committed murder against my friend! I mean, taken someone's menu from them wasn't the best choice for the bartender to do.... Drinks were made within 15min. Unfortunately it was the worst dirty vodka martini I had ever had. When our table was ready a very dapper male came to gather our drinks, and reported he would bring the ticket to the table as we were led to our table. The table was tiny. As said, there were three of us and planned to try multiple things on the menu. By the time the salsa and chips were on the table there wasn't even room for 3 dishes. Unfortunately, as our plates were delivered the servers were stuck trying to Tetris the plates and unfortunately took the salsa and chips without asking and before we ate them-- The game of Tetris continued the entire night and really ruined the experience. We found ourselves stuffing food in so that there would be room for other dishes without being able to actually enjoy them. The drinks were ok but not anything special sadly. The sushi was good and our servers recommendations were helpful. We did get one roll with seaweed wrap which one of the diners has a strong aversion to. Overall I was pretty sad about the experience. I would hope to have a better dining experience as it really seems this place could be a solid. The only other comment is it is quite loud. I was a little disappointed that nothing was done special for the birthday but I really wasn't expecting it. All in all not the best, definitely expected better. I ended up throwing the food away. I wanted to try a variety of dishes. The octopus was bad, the beets were terrible. The lettuce wedge was OK but very overpriced along with the sea bass. First the good news: for the kind of place and vibe, the food is very good. The crispy rice nigiri are interesting and yummy bites. The lamb was perfectly cooked, and the beef cheek flautas well balanced with the salsa. The adorable little hazelnut pate a chou dessert "chefs" were sitting on an amazing croquante disk as feet and the ice cream was delicious; there were just too many of them even for 2 people to share, and the pate a chou was crispy instead of fluffy. At the same time, the patatas bravas were not crispy at all. But all that is not for me enough to return as the restaurant is for those who go out all dressed up for cocktails and something to eat while I go out to enjoy great and interesting food. There is a DJ who plays loud music, service is good but not good enough. Never saw a manager swing by our table because we clearly were not part of the chic people. If you like to dress up and go to a hip place with a variety of cocktails and a DJ plus delicious bites, this is the place for you. For a foodie, not so much.
