Mole enchilada

My waitress was super friendly and was able to confirm i could make a substitute with my entree. I got the mole carne asada enchiladas with flour tortillas. Vert tasty.

I stopped by after seeing their giant coffee and giant concha, if I were a true coffee drinker, I definitely would've ordered one, but sadly I'm not. Instead, I got the strawberry matcha, and it was delicious, not overly sweet, just perfectly balanced. I also ordered a skillet, which was full of flavor and very satisfying. The only downside is that it's a bit on the pricey side, but given that it's located in the heart of the Gaslamp, it's understandable. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very clean, the staff provides excellent customer service, and the music is at a comfortable volume, perfect if you want to sit and work or just enjoy the space. Highly recommend and let me know how the giant coffee they also do it for Mexican hot chocolate.

Avocado Toast & Americano

I stopped in Casa Friday for some breakfast and coffee. I ordered the avocado toast at a whopping $15 and an Americano black at $4 and some change. The coffee was okay, but it had a bitter after taste so I asked for a little milk to help mellow it out and it did. The avocado toast arrived on two slice of wheat toast. It looked very nice upon arrival, but it was lacking in flavor. They put an avocado spread and freshly sliced avocado on top as well. They put crushed pepper and chili flakes, but a coarse sea salt would have really helped this toast get over its one dimensional flavor profile. Also, they should consider using a more thicker artisan bread for better texture. Keeping up with the Mexican theme, the addition of some queso fresco on top of the avocado toast would have been just grand. The place offers a variety of Mexican breakfast, lunch, and dinner classics with a lot of up charges on several of their items, such as chilaquiles and enchiladas, specifically for proteins and such. There's plenty of inside seating. The place offers some nice art work and decorations. The service was pleasant. My server Magda was very nice and friendly. They are just getting under way.

Pros: Everything tasted amazing! Service was great! Cons: it's a wait if you do not have reservations

This business just opened and saw it on my social media page and decided to give it a try! Beautifully decorated! They have a back room with a fake tree giving Cocina 35 vibes. They have a QR menu and offer a dinner option after 4pm. It's street parking and since it's in downtown it's a hit or miss. I ordered the chilaquiles which I think were okay but didn't have flavor enough to want more. I preferred a side of the chile verde side just to try it out and it was okay. The cafe de olla was okay but not my favorite. I requested the check and it took them awhile to get to me, maybe about 5-10 minutes and since my parking meter was running out I got up to see if I can pay upfront that's when the waitress stopped me midway and I paid. They do have the giant concha and coffee pot but I think it's only for the pics because who can drink that much coffee. It was okay but wouldn't go back.

Chipotle chilaquiles

We were really excited to check out this spot. The food was good--just a little underwhelming; the chipotle chilaquiles weren't very spicy and kind of lacked flavor. Also, they got my order wrong, but no big deal--I won't hold it against them, haha. The waiter was attentive and checked in on us a few times, which was nice. We did have to remind them about our drinks a couple of times, though. What really made a difference was how friendly the staff was--especially the manager, Jasmine. The ambiance was also great, no complaints there. All in all, it's a lovely place for a satisfying breakfast!

The service was amazing, the server who attended us was pleasant and courteous and although we got there right when they open she was very respectable and humble. The food was delicious and drinks were amazing. The atmosphere was inviting and the music was enjoyable not too loud and I knew all the song!!!

Was in SD (San Diego) saw this place on tik tok and thought I'd stop by and check it out. The waiting time was like 25-30 but in reality lasted like 15 minutes at the very least. Walking in the staff greeted us with really friendly smiling and made us feel welcome. The ambiance was great music every one having a great start to their day while am over here thinking on what time get to eat as everything looked so good and delicious. I went with 3 other people so they wanted to also see what was the big fuzz bout the BIG concha bread and BIG hot chocolate it was that or coffee so ended up with the easy way out and got ourselves the hot chocolate. Let me tell you it was really nice hot perfect way to start our morning. Wanted to try out the food but the concha and hot chocolate filled me up in which I was bummed out as I was looking forward to trying out the chilaquiles. The sad part we didn't get to finish the hot chocolate nor the concha. I'm hoping next time I come I'm hoping to try other food. Overall it was great experience definitely will go back.

Was in SD for the weekend and decided to skip my usual spot & try something new. The decor was so pretty, The staff was all friendly, very attentive. I got a biscoff latte and huevos rancheros & it was delicious. Will come back again for sure.

The food is good, I had the enfrijoladas. It was very tasty. The place is nice but small, it seems that maybe they will expand later because the store next door seems to be also from them. We had to wait before entering which is ok, but the downside is that it took a long time for them to take the order. After that hiccup everything went well. The waitress was super friendly and nice.

I appreciated the live music, though it did make conversation a bit difficult to hear. The drinks were sweet and strong! I recommend the Tangled Up in Blue The macaroni and cheese was the best appetizer. The wagyu tartare is actually quite spicy, and although tasty, we could not finish it because of the burn. The entrees were hot and cooked exactly as asked. You seriously get a bang for your buck with the portion size of the chicken parm! I also got some random corn surprises in my dish - I don't mind, but just something to be aware of in case you are allergic. I'm definitely coming back.

We did have a fairly large group so we occupied the entire back wall corner. It was a bit snug in terms of table space and leg space, but we made it work. The staff were doing their best to keep track of everyone's orders, but there were a few mix-ups in the end. Food came out in waves and had a good cadence to the meal. - FOOD - We had a lot to share amongst our group! Wagyu Tartare ($14.00): Really flavorful tartare! Had a nice tartness to it due to the Black Vinegar. Pork Belly Baos ($12.00 - 2pc): Honestly this was just OK to me. Ahi Tuna Crudo ($18.00): Very bright and refreshing. Chicken Satay ($12.00): A little dry on some chicken pieces. Crispy Brussels ($10.00): Not as crispy as I'd hoped but still good. B&R Mac & Cheese ($8.00): Very creamy, very cheesy. The pasta was a bit soft though. Flat Iron Steak & Fries ($25.00): Decent piece of steak, cooked medium well. I honestly enjoyed the fries a lot! However, there must have been something expired, cooked wrong, or just not up to quality as many of us got stomach issues that night and the next day. We were all spread out so not sure what it could have been given we ate a few different items. - OVERALL - It was a cool vibe and they have some good tasting items, but considering a few of us got sick, I'm a bit wary to come back.

It's got the decor, chairs, and art to match. Jessica was our server and she was amazing! She gave us lots of suggestions on what to try and what is on the menu since it was my first time here. She recommended the bloody Mary flight so did grab that to try! We also ordered the biscuits and gravy to share and orange juice. The portions are so large! So I am glad we decided to share the biscuits and gravy but let me run down each thing. Bloody Mary Flight: Honestly every single one was amazing. My favorite was definitely the pickle Mary! Everything tasted so delicious and was garnished beautifully. Well worth the 22 dollars. Biscuits and Gravy: Absolute perfection of comfort food. The biscuits were so fluffy and well seasoned. The gravy was also soooo good, just like my mom makes. The sausage in it was also cooked so well and juicy. I've never tried mashed potatoes with the biscuits and gravy but it worked very well! Orange Juice: Not a fan really, not pulpy enough and I wasn't a fan of the flavor. Overall this is definitely a must visit! I will definitely be back.

The food was amazing! In particular, I enjoyed the fried chicken and waffle tower and their roasted chicken hash. I was surprised they didn't include a side of butter along with their biscuits, but I'll probably just ask for it next time. One important thing to note is that their dishes are HUGE. All 6 of us had our own dishes, but I would highly highly recommend ordering a couple dishes and sharing it family style if you're dining with a group. One note I did have about Hash House is how overstimulating the menu is lol. The menu had a lot of clashing fonts, colors, and clip art images, it made it hard to digest the menu. I didn't even notice some menu offerings because of how busy the menu was. Also, our waitress did initially charge us for 6 coffees, even though we only had 3. It was a good thing we caught that error on the receipt before paying. Overall, the food at Hash House is definitely worth coming back for.

As if that wasn't enough, we walked in and realized it was trivia night, which immediately made the evening even better. While looking through the menu, I spotted a salmon bowl. I'm still pretty new to seafood and have recently discovered that I'm actually a big fan of raw salmon, so I figured this was the perfect opportunity to branch out. Well... surprise! For some reason I had convinced myself it was going to be a poke-style bowl with raw salmon, avocado, cucumbers, and all the usual toppings. Instead, it came out with cooked salmon. Even though it wasn't what I expected, the bowl was actually delicious. The funny part is I learned something about myself... I definitely prefer raw salmon over cooked salmon. Not a bad discovery to make over a good meal! The atmosphere was lively without being overwhelming, trivia kept the energy up all night, and the service was friendly from start to finish. Great place to grab a drink, catch up with friends, and maybe even learn something new about your own taste buds.

They have protein pancakes that are low calorie and gluten-free. And, they taste pretty good. Not as good as their regular pancakes, but, good enough to satisfy my pancake craving. I have breakfast there one or two times a month. I always have the same thing - protein pancakes and decaf coffee. And, the portion is so huge that I take most of it home and have the pancakes for breakfast the next several days. Enough about the pancakes. Let's talk about the service, which is what compelled me to write this review. A few months ago I sat down and my server, Erick, came up to my table and said, "Protein pancakes and decaf?" I was blown away! He remembered me and my order. I am not that regular a guest. He is just that amazing. And, it doesn't stop there. A few minutes after delivering my food, he brought a to-go box, because he knew I always take most of my meal with me, and I'm always in a hurry. That's not great service - that's extraordinary service! At one to two times a month, Erick makes me feel like a 5 day a week regular. I wish I could give Breakfast Republic 14 stars; 5 for having protein pancakes, 4 for their taste and 5 for the extraordinary service.
