There's been a change of ownership and unfortunately, a significant change in the food. We used to love this place but the new way of preparing the same menu items is drastically different. We shared the carnitas plate and it went from fried pork to shredded pork but with no flavor at all. I've been coming here for years now and it's always be great, food great as well as the service. I believe lately it was purchased by a new person or company which caused a change in the way some of the favorites are made. For instance the spicy salsa that they brought out with the chips, it no longer has that nice kick and tasty flavor that it once had, it fact it looks different because it is. The green sauce they use to use on enchiladas is now a different sauce altogether, not terrible but not as good. I think the rice and beans in fact are even made differently as they taste different. It's not terrible but just not what we all loved from this place. Because of this we likely not be coming here as often unfortunately. The carne asada was really good, but the sauces served with the tortilla chips were pretty much flavorless. For a Mexican restaurant, none of the food was actually spicy, they only offer fried jalapeños if you want any heat.The ambiance is very small, and seating is basically first-come, first-served depending on what's open. Service was mixed: one server was rude and even told us that if we sat at a certain table, we'd be responsible if they spilled hot platters on us. Fortunately, an older lady stepped in and fixed the table so we could sit there anyway. Overall, the food wasn't as delicious as I hoped, but the portions were very big. read more

My sister and I came here excited after seeing all the TikTok influencers hyping up the "bomb chilaquiles." Lesson learned: TikTok hype and real life are not always the same thing. My sister ordered the chilaquiles plate. The portion was generous and the presentation looked great, but the flavor didn't live up to the visuals. The sauce tasted like it came straight from a can, and the meat had a strange texture... as my mom would say, "carne de perro." I ordered a torta because I had been craving a good torta for the longest time. Sadly, this one was basically a lettuce sandwich. It had mostly lettuce, some meat, a slice of tomato, and avocado. It lacked flavor and was missing the usual things that actually make a torta good -- onions, cheese, and even a little mayo or sour cream. By the end I was just eating lettuce and wondering how this became a torta. The place itself was neat and clean, so I'll give them that. Unfortunately, the service didn't help much either since the waitress seemed to have a bit of an attitude. Overall, the food looked better than it tasted. Between the TikTok hype and the actual experience, this place just didn't deliver for us. Safe to say I won't be coming back, but maybe the influencers will. read more

As I entered, I could see the place was a small cozy restaurant filled with about nine seating areas ranging in size from two seats to four seats. However, the tables are movable and it appears you can configure them to seat six or more people. The place does not play any music so it's a good place to enjoy good conversation. The restaurant level is low and allows one to reflect on one's day if eating alone. They provide complimentary chips with red and green salsa. The chips were crisp and the salsa was fresh with a good mild flavor. I ordered the Chile Colorado ( red chile sauce with beef). When they brought it out, I couldn't believ how HUGE the portion was. I had read the reviews that the place serves large portions, but seeing is believing. The plate came with beans and rice, and flour or corn tortillas. The flavor of the red sauce on the beef was absolutely delicious. It was full of flavor and not spicy. I am very picky when it comes to the Chile Colorado plates at restaurants. Other than another restaurant in Los Angeles, this is definitely the best Chile Colorado In the Inland Empire. The beef was so tender I could cut it with a fork! The beef was cut in big square chunks and was very moist and tasty. They definitely use high grade beef at this location. The rice was delicious. Not too dry and not wet. It was moist with a good flavor. No tomatoes or other vegetables in the rice like in some places. The beans were covered in thick white Monterey Jack cheese and it literally melted in mouth. The beans were absolutely delicious. I am a big eater and. I was so full that I had to force myself to eat because the flavor was so good. The server was good and the service was okay. I say this only because I had asked for some butter for my flower tortillas and he forgot. I looked for him and he was behind the counter on his phone texting. However, another employee helped me. The employees are very nice here. I definitely will return as this restaurant will be on the top of my list of favorite Mexican Restaurants. This place has been at this particular location for 10 years and it used to be at Fourth and Mountain. I haven't been to this restaurant for about 15 years and after they moved I just assumed the foot would taste different. I was right! It does taste different because it taste better. It went from an 8 to a 10 in portion size and flavor. It also appears to have some really good pozole as I saw people ordering it, and it looked pretty good. It was a huge bowl. My plate cost me $18.95, but given the huge portion it was big enough for two or to take home for seconds. Definitely worth the price given the high quality of meat! read more

My friend catered this place last year around this date for his wife's 40th birthday. I remember having the chili rojo for the meat. It was amazing. The rice is delicious. Their beans are well flavored. Food is off the charts good. Yesterday a friend and I were trying to figure out dinner. We remembered this place. We knew it was early enough still. This place closes early 7 PM . We got there and ordered. They have bomb chips and salsa too. Holy cow love this place. Will be back many times more. Huge portions. I had the burrito grande.
