Very cute Spaniard restaurant. I tried a few of their tapas (egg omelette, mushrooms, shrimp, ham croquettes) and they were all yummy. We ordered the seafood paella for 2 and it made enough small servings for 2 plus there was enough to take home (see size of servings in pics below). For those that like bigger portions, you can just eat the extra instead of taking it home as we did. Great place to gather with a group and share food. I would recommend pairing your food with their sangria. Be aware that the parking is valet only (if I remember correctly it was $7 but don't quote me on that because I had a few sangrias, lol). Alternative is parking on the street if you are able to find parking but the street the restaurant is on is very busy so I recommended just doing the valet. I have been coming here since I was a child for special occasions and this past Sunday I decided to go for brunch. Casa Juancho is considered by many especially the Cuban community as a Miami institution, it's cool to see how generations of generations return to this place and its fun to see the older couples that still want to enjoy life to the very end, have their dates to the wee hours. This restaurant in my personal opinion is the closet you get to authentic Spanish food in Miami. The interior is modeled like old fashioned cavern found all over Spain and very homey. We decided to order several tapas, and one main entree to share. First off we decided to order a full jar of Sangria. Sangria is a type of fruit punch with red wine and fruits. It was really refreshing and semi-sweet, and we had a enough to drink about five glasses between us two. The first tapas that arrived to our table was the grilled scallops with virgin oil, they were delicious and very tender while lightly seasoned. Next up was one of my personal favorite the octopus with oil and paprika. The octopus were great and just right not to chewy but not hard neither, the only complaint I had was this tapas used to include sliced potatos, but not this time. They provided complimentary loafs of french bread cut in slices which I ate with my tapas. For the main entree my wife choose the grilled filet of lenguado and avocado salad. Lenguado is a type of grouper that is eaten a lot in both Peru and Spain. Even my wife had to agree that the filet fish was amazing, grilled to perfection and the waiter offered to take off the bones which he did with expertly. The salad was good but nothing complicated and they also gave us a side of rice. We couldn't agree on dessert so we decided to order the crema catalana and the flan de coco. The crema catalina is the Spanish version of the creme brulee, which I feel the Spanish is better and creamier. The flan de coco was even better and not too sweet. I also recommend if you love almonds try the torta de Santiago which is a almond cake. The food is very good, sometimes the service can be a little slow, but if you appreciate good Spanish food come over and try it. Its a little pricey so I would recommend special occasions and in groups so you can try out different tapas. The restaurant offers valet service for $5 before 3pm and $7 after. read more

The restaurant is no longer the same, and the menu had run out by 10:00 p.m. As advertised, there are no Spanish performers. The dinner was only adequate; however, the calamari we ordered were not fresh. Bruno, the server, was pleasant, but there was nothing he could do to improve the situation. Went last Friday for our holiday GNO, since the girls wanted authentic Spanish food, and this restaurant was awesome. Felt like we were in Spain at a market restaurant. It was so nicely decorated for Christmas too so it looked beautiful. You definitely need a reservation cause it gets packed with big groups so make it in advance and you'll be fine. They have a HUGE wine book lol and you either order a bottle or pick from two of the reds they have or the one white they have. I had the white one and it was delicious, like a Pinot Grigio. The girls had the two different reds which were like a Cabernet and a Merlot. We only ordered tapas and thank yew did cause the entrees are huge. There was lots of music and laughter and camaraderie, it was really a great time. The food, the ambience, the people were all good. Definitely a nice place to go. read more

I do not understand the low ratings for Casa Juancho. I have been coming here for the past 12 years and I have to say: they do a great job keeping the standard and quality of service and food. Here is the breakdown: Food- one star I love their paella. I would even go ahead and say it is the best paella in town. Delicious. Minimum of two people order but it comes in a very generous portion so perfect for sharing for 3 people when you order for two. Also I enjoy their steak. You can never go wrong with that and it is a great add-on to the paella. You just order the sangria jar, nicely done. For appetizers, love the Jamon y manchego plate. Service- one star Friendly staff and very attentive. Never had an issue here. Decor/ ambiance- one star Love the live musicians. They will come to your table and sing. Nice touch. As for the decor, it looks like an old medical feel to it. We have been driving around this place many times, until finally we got invited to a birthday Party here. They set a long table of about 20 people, kind of private on the upper level. The inside is beautiful, rustic old school decor, they have an area where you can see the prosciutto, pata negra hanging. Service was on point, one main server and different helpers through the meal. The have an extensive wine selection, also a 25 corkage fee. For appetizers we order fried calamari, garlic Shrimp, anchovies in vinegar and meat and cheese plates. For our first time here, we were impressed by this restaurant, from the decoration, cleanliness, and service ( specially our server) never wrote anything down. This restaurant has not only amazing food, but excellent Service. To start they serve warm bread, with garlic herd butter. We had the grouper croquettes. They we're excellent. I had the sea bass, which was delicious. My husband had the lobster Thermidor which was out of this world. For dessert we had the crème brûlée and the coconut flan. Both were amazing. Great location and beautiful restaurant. Food was good and their wine list is expansive with a good price range. However, food is definitely overpriced and the waiters came to our table about 4 times after giving us our check to see if we were ready. The place was half empty on a random Thursday night. The live performers were very good however, when they came to our table asking for a tip, my friend said she only had credit cards to which he responded "we take credit cards as well." I thought going table to table asking for tips was tacky, but that comment was even tackier. Glad I went, I can now say "been there done that" but I won't be back. read more

I do not recommend this place! From the very start, they force you to valet the car even though all of the parking spaces were empty and right by entrance. I even offered to park my car myself and give them the keys. I do not like letting strangers drive my car! I never valet park. When I mentioned it inside, they said that the valet service is mandatory! This alone is reason enough for my family and I never coming back. The prices are extremely expensive!! Casa Juancho for years has been my go to place for great Paella in Miami with delicious sangria, and fantastic live Spanish music on weekends. Unfortunately, all that has changed in a very negative way. I was there last weekend with a group of 6. To start with, the Sangria way overly sweet and not very good. The Paella was just not good. Tasted nothing like Paella and more like just rice with some seafood without any seasoning. Lastly, no more live music and according to our server, there is no plan to reinstate the live music. Such a shame as the ambiance there is still great. However, none of us will be returning. I hope they get the memo and get their act together ASAP! read more

On Saturday evening I walked into this spectacular Spanish restaurant somewhere in Spain, greeted by friendly handsome spaniards dressed in long lost native attire, passing by our table singing lovely songs with dulcet voices and dreamy eyes. But no, i was in my lovely Miami, in Casa Juancho. The service was incredible, water, bread, wine, everything. The food was delicious! Appetizer calamari with the pink sauce was one of the best I've had. The paella was the best I've tasted. The snapper in green sauce was superb. Even the lowly salmon was elevated to next level. And then came dessert: a waiter brought a big tray with eye pleasing delights that were hard to resist. The best, for me, was the fruit tart. But the coconut flan was equally delicious. So, I pull into the restaurant & park.. as customary. Then as I'm walking in, I'm told I'd have to pay them $7 for parking. Apparently the restaurant's lot is "valet" only.. their very basic, attached parking lot that is a few steps away from the entrance (and next to sketchy housing). And I just parked my car myself. Sometimes companies/people's level of greed is nothing short of ridiculous. We arrived at 8:30 for a 9:00 reservation & were seated at 9:16. If they cannot accommodate reservations in timely manner, it should be explicitly stated and openly decline reservations.. but instead they try to overbook tables. The hostess' response "I know, they'll let you know when it is ready.." Not even an apology for the wait. She could care so little, I'm surprised she was able to get dressed & make it to work that day (an indication this is typical business for them). Food was not worth even half the $600 bill we paid. The entertainers were the only saving grace. Especially the gentleman with the accordion... who has such a nice way & charisma about him. I'd give him 6/5 stars. I'd give management 0/5 stars. *Final thoughts, there are an abundance of restaurants in Miami, pick a much better one. read more

Little did I know when i first went to Casa Juancho for a birthday dinner, that this was the most old-school-est every true Miamian's fancy, special, birthday, engagement, holiday, whatever dinner place. I went with some of my friends who grew up in Miami and they had many stories to tell of this place. I was stoked as soon as walked in, since it has the old world Spanish decor. This is not a place to show up casj too either, folks go all out for whatever their special night is. The ambiance in CJ is completely legit. It's covered in old wooden decor and as soon as you walk in you are taken back to Spain. each time that I have been there we have had the pleasure of the Tuna coming up to us and singing to our table. Yeah it's a bit awkward for us Americans, but just go with it and have a blast. They are such great singers and a ton of fun. It's all part of the experience. I've ordered seafood each time that I've eaten here and it's pretty tasty. I wasn't totally blown away, but it was fresh and imported from Spain, so they say. The Lobster bisque soup was actually the best thing I had at my most recent trip. As far as the scallops and octopus went, I prefer mine a bit more seared on the grill, but that's not the style here from what I've seen. I also had the chance to try the paella and I have to say that next time, I'm just going to go for it. A minimum of a two persons have to order paella at your table, since it comes out in the giant paella pan to the table and is served right there. Out of everything I've tried here, that's been the best to me so far. The guys loved the steaks so, so there's that to try another time too. Basically what you are getting here is a wonderful ambiance and a fun special night experience. If you are not a wine drinker, don't expect any additional service to conquer your thirst. You will have to summons your waiter, who have attitude's, every time you need to refresh your glass. I ordered the Lagostinos a la Plancha which was nothing more than 5 large shrimp at the cost of 48.00. They were extremely overcooked and was somewhat rubbery. My wife had a bowl of white bean soup that she ate less than half of because the pungent smell of my shrimp made her nauseous. Unless you are big on wine drinking and small meals, stay clear. I am not a big red meat lover but I'd venture to say It was one of the best filets I've ever had. It was cooked to perfection and I ate the whole thing! Once was an upscale restaurant and very wonderful service after COVID this restaurant has drastically changed the service and the food are no longer the same. This restaurant was very special to me since I was born I've known this restaurant and it was always a place I would go with my family to celebrate special events and the food was amazing along with the drink well not anymore after COVID this place has gone down hill the service is awful and the food is horrible extremely overpriced and not worth it at all I would not recommend this place unless you want cheap wine and bad overpriced food. Casa Juancho a great little gem in Miami just south of the airport. Great for date nite or dinner with guests. The atmosphere and service are awesome. We enjoying the journey back to a time in a much older Spain. We came on a Saturday night for dinner and they had live musicians wondering around while playing and singing. The food was really good. I had the meat/cheese plate & Calamari for apps. Then the Paella Valenciana for dinner. The paella had great flavors and we will certainly order it again, but to be honest in our review the seafood was way over cooked to a point some of it was tough. We had flan and rice pudding for dessert. Both were wonderful and finished off the meal just right. To sum it up. We will be back soon with friends and family. read more

Very good but used to be better. The management has been removing spices and flavors from certain popular dishes to cater an older crowd. Removed the Aji Cacho Cabra from various plates and has made them tasteless. The famous appetizer with the diced cow stomach or "guatitas" in some countries in sauce is now tasteless for example. They tampered a perfectly classical recipe that loyal customers are accustomed too! Also, there is no vibe there anymore without the music. Little by little there ruining the experience.. Please bring back the Live music, flavorful food (don't remove the AJI Cacho Cabra!) and good vibe! The place is supposed to be like being in Spain remember? Think they forgot!
