Burrito gone, no evidence left--so here's the bathroom art contemplating its own existence.

Casa Playa in the Riviera is one of those spots that just gets it right every time. The service is consistently warm and on point -- whether I'm rolling in with full family chaos or (rare, sacred moment) flying solo at lunch. And speaking of that... I swear the staff low-key appreciates the quieter version of me when I'm not accompanied by two tiny tornadoes who've just redecorated the table with rice and beans. Respect all around. Let's talk food. The salsa lineup alone deserves its own standing ovation. The "Salma Hayek" is smooth, flavorful, and dangerously easy to keep going back to, while the "Diablo" has that "you did this to yourself" kind of heat that sneaks up and makes you reconsider your life choices -- in a good way. They've got options for every level of heat tolerance--from "I dabble" to "I've made several poor decisions and I'm going back for more." The kids are ride-or-die for the bean and cheese burrito, which is clutch. My wife always locks in the veggie tacos and never misses. But for me? It's the deluxe carnitas burrito. Every time. No notes. It's the kind of order you don't even think about -- just muscle memory at this point. Whether it's a family outing or a peaceful lunch reset, La Playa delivers. Easy five stars.

Good food and good service, I would recommend this local business! I love the vibrant colors of the decor and the family friendly demeanor. Location: In the Riviera Village on S Catalina close to the cross street of S Elena Ave. Unique: - They offer a discount if you use cash to pay - Locally owned - If you live within 3 miles of the restaurant, they will delivery on orders $18 and up. - A large and accommodating menu I would come back, I loved the street corn and the beef enchiladas have good flavor. As I left with my to-go meal, the staff waved and said thank you and goodbye. Such a great team!

Great food. Prompt, kind service and workers. Love the hole-in-the-wall feel of a place like this, especially when so close to the beach.

A cool casual place for Mexican food. We are here to try their $2.35 Taco Tuesday street tacos (regular $3.59). Overall experience was pretty good, tacos are tasty, and the service was excellent. The salsa bar provides 6 delicious options from mild to volcano, and one called Salma Hayek! Complementary chips is definitely a plus!! Note: for the Taco Tuesday deal, the ASADA and a couple meat options were not available, which is a disappointment since it's our preferred and the other stores offer it.

Casa Playa is a cute spot for a quick dinner with friends or family. We sat at the bar, and the place had a chill, casual vibe. Only parking option is valet, luckily it was just $5 and they took Apple Pay--huge win. We ordered the chicken tacos, and honestly the meat tasted just like the chicken from Angel Stadium's helmet nachos, so I'd probably try a different protein next time. It's a solid spot for a quick and cheap meal, and chips and salsa are included, which is always a plus.

Been on the look out for incredible authentic Mexican food. I found it here in Casa Playa. With delicious food and chill surf style ambiance, the only thing that beats it out was the service from, Shawn. He was very welcoming and friendly. We got the Birria tacos, Cali Burrito and Orange Bang to drink. Everything exceeded our expectations. 10/10 would recommend and will be coming back.

I think when we ordered nachos, they thought we said nacho soup. With maybe 5 chips sticking out of the top, and maybe 5 chips at the bottom, my 10 chip nacho was more of a stew than a nacho. However, the flavor was good. Add some chips and they got something there. My wife got chilaquiles and those were pretty good. The place was well decorated, there were a lot of customers, and the food came out quick.

I usually come for the Baja Fish Tacos; they're a good size, delicious and filling! I wanted to try their street tacos and birria tacos one day. Carne asada street taco was yummy, but the birria was so burnt i couldn't even take a bite. Disappointed but I'm thinking i just caught them on a bad day though so would still go back.

Deluxe burrito with carne asada and added green sauce. Pretty mid.

Heard about this place from a coworker and decided to give it a try. Staff was very friendly and gave great service. I ordered the carne asada deluxe burrito and added green sauce. The green sauce was a bit salty for me and the burrito barely had any meat in it or the meat was shredded so fine it was overwhelmed by the rice and beans. So I didn't taste any meat. Overall, probably won't go back considering there's so many great Mexican restaurants in the South Bay that do it better.

    Al pastor California Burrito

Delicious food and quick service. I've eaten Al pastor all over Mexico and this Al pastor California burrito is easily some of the best I've had. The deluxe burrito is also really good and very very generous with the meat and fillings. The salsas are also really full of flavor. Definitely recommend the hot green salsa and el toro salsa. Will definitely be coming back.

Carnitas breakfast bowl with 2 eggs over easy pickled red onion crema and cilantro on top of home potatoes aka casa potatoes.

I'm loving the new brunch menu especially the French Toast and Carnitas Breakfast Bowl. I crave them every Sunday. They open at 9am Sundays so it's perfect. I had leftovers of the carnitas bowl and was still so yummy the next day.

Delicious flautas for me, chorizo taco plate for him (photo taken too late so they were almost all eaten already :)

Everything tasted incredibly fresh and perfectly seasoned. We ordered the carne asada and carnitas, and both were amazing. The meat was tender, flavorful, and not fatty at all just perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. My daughter had the bean and cheese burrito with rice and beans and loved it too. They bring out three different salsas with the chips, and each one had its own unique flavor. You can tell the chips are house-made because they're fresh, crisp, and just really good. Some Mexican restaurants can make things overly salty, but everything here tasted balanced and fresh. I also had a Paloma and it was made perfectly. Before we left we decided to try the churros and I'm so glad we did. They were filled with this amazing cream and came with a caramel sauce for dipping. I'm not usually a big dessert person, but these were seriously incredible. Great location, great service, amazing food, and everything tasted fresh and well made. We will definitely be back!

Prices are reasonable, and the views are as good as they get with unobstructed views of the harbor all the way to Palos Verdes. The restaurant is clean, new, and TVs with sports even in the dining room (perfect for watching World Cup matches while dining). The only critique I'd offer is I wish they didn't use the end pieces of the loaf of bread for french toast--made the pieces tough. But the other breakfast items were great, as were the salsa, guac, and tortilla chips. What a gem to have in Redondo, especially for it being reasonably priced and accessible (wasn't a problem getting a reservation). Hope this place can stay busy enough to stick around for a while.

The margaritas tasted like dirty water completely watered down with no flavor at all. They were honestly some of the worst we've ever had. If you decide to come here, I'd recommend sticking with a beer and maybe a quesadilla, since those are pretty hard to mess up. It's really disappointing that every part of our experience fell short, because I would have gladly given a higher rating if there had been at least one standout. Sadly, there just wasn't

The shrimp tacos were yummy! My friend wasn't a big fan of them because they were too wet and didn't have enough crunch. The prices are good too.
